"Plaza Resort Bonaire - Beach Hotel"
Stayed for five nights in a junior suite with ocean view (which we recommend; the lagoon smells!), and was very happy with our choice of room. The staff at reception was nice, but the job they did turned out to be not too good. We asked to have a ligth bulb changed in the bathroom and they said they would - three times. We gave up. We asked for extra […] towels (you'll need extra to dry the floor around the very nice, but very unpractical shower), but didn't get any (although they said we would). Because of late departure on the last day, we arranged upon arrival to extend the stay for five hours on the last day. We spent quite a lot of time the last morning to keep the room (which we eventually did), because the staff hadn't done their job and the room had been given to someone else. It turned out ok, but that's NOT how you want to spend the last morning in the Caribbean! In general house keeping wasn't impressive, and with the price of the hotel it should be better. Remember to put out a do not disturb-sign if you don't want to be woken by house keeping - they start early (and way before the time that says in the information brochure). They took the towels without replacing new ones before several hours later. The resort had good restaurants, with prices pretty much the same as in town. The location is perfect if you like to spend time on the beach, and Kralendjik is walking distance away. We only snorkeled, but Bonaire is said to be divers paradise, which it certainly must be! Professional-looking diver shoops all over the town and wonderful life under the surface. You won't need warm clothes, nights are warm as well. And so is the water temperature. Perfect for relaxing after a month living in a backpack in South America. Les mer
The warm welcome by the front desk and helpful maintenance staff made our overnight at the resort a pleasure. We stayed at the resort for our last night on the island after staying with a large group in a vacation rental home for the first part of our trip. The resort would have worked well for our group had we decided to go that route. The beds were […] very comfortable and the room spotless when we arrived. The Tipsy Seagull restaurant was our last meal on Bonaire and was absolutely superb! Great resort, beautiful location right on the sea. Les mer
"Plaza Resort 2/18/12-2/25/12"
Stayed in a premium grand suite with an ocean view. The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was a little odd since it did not have a door and anyone taking a shower was in view with the sleeping area. The bathroom sink was about 3 inches deep and 3 feet long (almost as long as the counter which didn't leave much room for toothbrushes etc). […] The front desk staff where very pleasant and helpful. However, the maid service was inconsistent and sloppy at times. Toucan Dive Shop staff were amazing! Overall, I would recommend the hotel and dive operation. Les mer
"Stay Away"
The pictures on the website are very old. Our room was dirty, the toilet ran all the time, 5 lights were out and it took 2 people to yank open the sliding glass door. They fixed the lights and said they would be back to fix the door and never returned. We gave up on the toilet and just turned off the water each night. The service was very very slow […] and some of the food and juices were left out overnight for the buffet breakfast. However the dive shop and personel were great. Les mer
"Great ocenside location"
The Plaza Resort Bonaire was a fun place to stay as it has a wonderful oceanfront that is particularly good for some decent snorkeling right from shore, which is not common since if you can easily swim to the coral it is usually spoiled and here there was still live coral. The grounds are nice, the room spacious, the staff friendly and the hotel allowed […] us to have early check in, which we really appreciated. Although not a bargain, it was fairly priced. On the negative side it had a look of having seen better days and the room had deferred maintanance and was not too well cleaned. Not a big deal, but for instance, there was a large dead bug on the bathroom floor that was never removed after 4 nights, so we wondered if floors were ever cleaned which seems important in the tropics. As someone who does not gorge on breakfast, it was disappointing that they only had an expensive buffet and no a la carte menu. We had 2 dinners at the hotel, one really excellent with creative cooking and great fish, and one very expensive but not so good (a lobster night that is not worth it with tough, tasteless lobster and ordinary side dishes). Oveer all however, I would recommend this hotel and we enjoyed our stay. Les mer

Well you can walk there from the airport. The hotel and the island has a very laid back feeling so if you're high stress/high service don't go there. The staff is friendly and does a good job in an "island" kind of a way which is part of the charm. All of the resorts on Bon Aire cater to divers. Only some of the rooms have been updated, so the unrenovated rooms look tired and old. Food at restaurants is good, but service a bit slow. Nice beachfront with great snorkeling. Very good scuba dive shop on premises. Overall, they do a nice job here, especially if you can get a renovated room.

Hotel staff was very bad, not helpful at all. They didn't voluntarily give ANY information about resort and its services but one had to ask about everything, so we missed with some happenings & shuttle services etc! Also they declined to return internet payment even though the PC was broken! Resort area seemed to be bit untidy/unkept and it also was […] under some costruction work. Maybe as high season was just starting... Les mer
