Minnewaska Lodge - Gardiner

The complementary breakfast was delicious! All of the employees were helpful, kind, and hardworking. They were there to accommodate us! The view was beautiful from our room. The hotel had a great, serene feel. The location was awesome. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning!

This place is fantastic! The bed was super-comfy, the bathroom was large and the shower worked perfectly, the free coffee, cookies and breakfast were tasty and convenient, and the staff was very helpful. There's a fun German restaurant across the street, and beautiful walking right around the lodge. I can't wait to go back!!

My only complaint is the cold breakfast. Especially on a winter day, cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, even a fresh-baked coffee cake doesn't substitute for hot food. Instant oatmeal? Feh!

Manager on duty was very knowledgeable & helpful regarding the local restaurants & local hiking/recreational trails. Had trail maps too. Was careful to refer us to the official authorities for real-time trail conditions. Room was very clean, with great views of cliffs. Continental breakfast was good included egg-based dish., cereals, yogurt. One very […] minor annoyance was unnecessary lighting in the great common room which reflected off the windows distracting from the view of the cliffs during the daylight hours. The best thing about my stay was the room was quite nice. There was nothing I mean nothing for us. The hotel seemed only to be open for the two of us. There was no kitchen staff, we did not have out continental breakfast. Although we were the only people booked for that night I feel they should have still accommodated us because that was apart of what […] was offered. Not at all my fault that no one else booked that weekend. The heat was also in adequate again I should have been given a choice to cancel my reservation (which by the way there was no cancellation as per their policy) if they weren't going to provide all services. Loved the lodge. We went up for a getaway for my husband's birthday. The lodge and room were clean, comfortable, with good amenities and the view was terrific. The staff was friendly, the breakfast homemade and nice. Overall, great experience and a good value for the money.

Overall very nice and clean rooms. Rooms not too sound proof. Great view of the mountain from the lodge's main area. Good breakfast selection but didn't check often to refill coffee selection. Staff on Sunday arrival not very helpful, wouldn't hold our luggage as room wasn't ready. Also had to drag it up some stairs. I took my girlfriend there for our 2 year anniversary and we had a great time. The place was great. The room was very comfortable and clean. It is located in a great loction if you are looking to go to the parks in the area. We spent three dys hiking and did not have to drive more than 10-15 minutes before we got to the parking for the State Park. Overall, this hotel is great. If you are climbing, you can't get any closer to the gunks. Make no mistake though, this is not a B&B in my book. A basic continental breakfast with cold quiche (only served on Sat and Sun mornings) does not qualify a hotel as a B&B. Weekday morning breakfast consists of cereal, yogurt and toast.

High quality building with well equipped and comfortable rooms.Sound proofing can be an issue, self closing doors need care. Lovely grounds that are peaceful, with good views of the mountains and all the trees. No evening catering but good local restaurants. An unusual combination of B & B friendliness and the facilities of a hotel.

We went as a couple to go climbing in the local area. The lodge was lovely with good views and good sized room. Breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly. We had a lovely relaxing stay.

We needed a motel off the NYS Thruway and decided to try the upscale Minnewaska--and are delighted we did. It's worth twenty times an Econolodge or Red Roof--don't even mention them in the same breath. It's a gorgeous place you won't want to leave--or as we did, left having promised ourselves to come back for a longer sojourn.

I have had the pleasure of saying in this hotel several times. It is very charming, with fresh baked cookies to welcome you. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is very comfortable. The rooms are very clean and large. Breakfast is very enjoyable and the scenery it just beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel.
