We really loved our stay at the hotel and fell in love with Prague. The room was very beautiful and included a small kitchen, the bathroom was fairly large and the furniture in the room was all very grand. The bed was also very comfortable, and the room was warm and cosy. The only slight snag we had was that the guests in the room above us were very […] very heavy footed, which was a bit annoying when we were trying to sleep..(not to hotels fault). The staff at the hotel were amazing and they did their best to make our stay very special. We were treated to coffee upon arrival and were also pleased to find a bottle of wine had been left in our room on our first evening. The location itself was perfect for us, we enjoyed walking into the city, up to the castle and we found our way around easily. Perfect small boutique hotel located just a short walk away from the hustle and bustle of Prague's City Centre. Wonderful location in a part of the city that is not at all touristy but gracious and lovely. At the same time, you can walk to any of the must-see sights. The hotel booked us a great private tour and helped with our return flight during an airline strike.

We were at the Alchemist for a bit of an anniversary getaway and stayed way up on the 4th floor in a romantic gold room. It was beautiful warm sunny weather and our room was filled with light. Beautifully decorated and furnished hotel in a quiet part of town yet with easy access to Charles Bridge. Only one criticism and that is that the downstairs air-conditioning was either inadequate or set too high (warm) or did not work as the breakfast room was always too hot and humid.

Great hotel in a super location, just a few minutes from Charles Bridge but in a very quiet street with good restaurants just around the corner. Staff very helpful and friendly. We travelled with friends who had a room on the top floor with just one other room on the landing, if you could occupy both rooms with friends there is a lounge and kitchen […] which would be used exclusively by you. Excellent hotel, we had a fantastic time, it is very central, the staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast was nice enough. We definitely recommend it. Just slight critic: be aware there are two hotels, the main one and the other one is called "Residence", so might be confusing when you book as we only realised when we got there that there was […] another hotel and the spa was actually in the main one. Not a big issue as the spa within the main hotel is only 5 minutes walk away from the residence - also the main hotel is more posh and beautiful than the residence. If the price difference is important between both (hotel and residence), then worth going for the residence as its high quality too and also gives you access to the spa. Les mer

Prague seemed to be filled with unbelievable numbers of tourists, particularly on Charles Bridge and the Old Town, and in the Castle area. This hotel was in a lovely area with embassies and large villas and was an oasis of calm. This hotel is conveniently located to the Charles Bridge in a quiet neighborhood that was difficult for our taxi driver to find and hard for us to find when returning after sightseeing. We arrived early and to our delight, they let us check in early. The hotel is very luxurious decorated in high Baroque fashion. Our room had a fabulous view of the Prague […] Castle but was up two flights of stairs in the attic. Because of the room location, carrying the luggage up was a chore and the room was extra hot even though it was 40 degrees outside and we had turned off the heat. Fortunately, we could open the window. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was ultra comfy. The bathroom was well stocked with quality products, hair dryer, and even bathrobes. One of my pet peeves is bath/shower drains not working properly and sorry to say that the shower barely drained to the point that it was about to flood the room! When this was mentioned at check-out, no response, acknowledgment or apology was received. We didn't eat at the hotel but the food seemed good but pricey. Beware of getting a taxi to the airport, they will offer to add it to your room bill and provide you their driver but it will cost you an extra 150 kc; ask for a regular taxi and pay the driver directly. Fantastic chic hotel. Attention to detail second to none. All the staff really friendly and helpful. If you like antique Italian design at it's best you will love this hotel. It's far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town but close enough to walk not missing out on any sights on the way.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights and were very pleased with the room and hotel staff. The staff was very friendly, attentive to our needs, gave good advice, and was present in the lobby 24/7. The location is just far enough off the beaten path to be relatively quiet but close enough to be very convenient. The room and bath were impressive and beautifully […] decorated. Being on the top floor had the advantage of a skylight window with a shade that we could open to see the moon at night. (However, be aware that the top floor requires climbing 1 flight of stairs - the lift stops 1 floor below.) The west side of the Charles bridge is a 5-10 minute walk away. We enjoyed walking through Kampa Garden park along the river to go to the Charles Bridge or to go south to the area around the next bridge. There are also restaurants on either end of the park. Everything was just starting to bloom and should be gorgeous in a few weeks. Two blocks to the west is a tram stop which can be taken north to a metro station on the Green line, then take the metro to Old Town or Wenceslas square. A single ticket covers the tram and the metro. But most of the time, we just enjoyed walking everywhere throughout the city. (Bring suitable shoes.) Across the street from the tram stop is a large park on Petrin hill with a tower at the top. If you tire of walking in the city and need a little time with mother nature, this park is a good place to go. The hill is pretty steep to walk up, but you can ride to the top and walk down if you prefer. There are great views of the city throughout the park and at the top of the tower as well as at the castle. The city is beautiful, clean, and we felt safe everywhere we went. It really is magical at night with all of the buildings lit up. It is worth bringing a good camera that works well in low light if you enjoy photography. Some good spots are on Charles Bridge, in old town, or the at riverfront in Kampa garden right next to the hotel. We did not try the Les mer

We had a beautiful suite with a canopy bed, a table with chairs, a classy kitchenette, and beautiful original art work on the wall. A historical gem in mint condition. This is probably the best hotel room I have ever stayed in, rivaled only by a historic hotel room that we stayed at in Florence, Italy. This is a truly wonderful hotel. Throughout our stay the staff went to every effort to make it more enjoyable - nothing was to much trouble; but importantly at not point was the atmosphere stuffy or pretentious. A comparatively small, traditional czech hotel set in the much less touristy 'Little Quarter', The Alchymist is nonetheless luxuriously comfortable […] and perfectly situated - no more than a 5 min stroll to the Charles bridge, which crosses into the 'Old Quarter' and the majority of the major attractions. Small details, such as being happy to throw in extras without increasing charges, or remembering it was my girlfriend's birthday, meant that I continually found myself remarking how much more comfortable this stay felt over similarly holidays staying in the bigger chain hotels. All-in-all I do not have one bad word to say about this hotels. A truly enjoyable stay, exceptional staff and beautiful setting. Les mer

Cannot praise this hotel enough. From the opulent surroundings to the friendly, professional and attentive service, the Nosticova delivered in every department. We were staying for my wife's birthday and to treat us, they upgraded us to a wonderful junior suite, offered us complimentary welcome drinks, plus a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Guests […] can make use of the spa facilities at the sister hotel grand (5 mins walk away), where deep in the eastern-inspired catacombs, you can luxuriate in saunas, steam rooms, take a dip in the pool (with overhanging chandalier - how decadent!), or just relax in the ornate persian style bed/lounger. We didn't get to eat in the hotel's restaurant as it was closed, but the location is close to some tremendous places (try the savoury pancakes at the nearby Cukr Kava Limonada). Overall, this is a fantastic hotel as a treat for a special occasion. It's not cheap, but we found it fantastic value for what you get. Les mer

This was our first experience of a small hotel. What an amazing experience it was! The beautiful heritage building had been lovingly restored, allowing guests to enter a magical tranquil cocoon of yesteryear. Made all the better because of their kind and caring staff. When we arrived our daughter was ill from a tummy bug she had picked up in Norway. […] The staff could not have done any more to help us make her comfortable. In the following days after our daughter recovered, our waiter Edi seemed to walk on air as he went about his business pouring coffee and bringing our cooked breakfast. The buffet breakfast was healthy and more than adequate for many different tastes. Krystyna and Adele the receptionists, with the most sparkling smiles in Prague, had their fingers on the pulse directing us to places we wanted to visit & organizing taxis and restaurant bookings. When we return to Prague we will return to this very very special hotel. Les mer

Lovely hotel, although definitely for honeymooners or couples. My friend and I felt slightly out of place as two young students... I rarely give anyone 5 stars, but this is definitely one of the best family run hotels I have stayed in. Staff is very friendly, rooms are huge and it's within walking distance of all the attractions. I can't comment on the breakfast as I had to leave before it opened at 7.30 am

This is a beautiful little hotel, very stylishly decorated. Our room was on the top floor, fairly small but very comfortable with a fine view of Prague castle. The bathroom was big, attractive and spotless. We were travelling in December so the room felt like a real haven after wandering around Prague in the cold - we actually had to turn the heating […] down quite a bit because it was so warm. The hotel is in a very quiet part of town but is 5 minutes walk (at most) from the east end of the Charles Bridge so it's an easy (and beautiful) 10-15 minutes walk to the center of the old town. It's even closer to the lesser town (Mala Strana) which is full of stunning buildings and is on the way to Prague Castle. You can also walk up Petrin Hill, which has some wonderful views over the city. It's very close to a tram line (though I think you need tickets before you get on the tram) and about 7-8 minutes from a subway station (Malostranska). The hotel has a very nice restaurant, with a stunning "mirror room"; we only tried the breakfast which was excellent (though pricey) but the menu looked impressive. What stood out most, though, was the hotel staff. My wife was quite sick during our stay and they were incredibly sympathetic and helpful, going out of their way to make us comfortable. Whenever we asked for any help they were right there and we feel really grateful for their care and support. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Les mer

The website photos of this hotel did not do it justice! We were welcomed by extremely friendly and helpful staff and our room was absolutely gorgeous. The hotel location was the perfect spot for sight seeing and just five minutes amble from the Charles bridge down pretty cobbled streets. I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in May. It is located about 10-15 min walk from George Bridge and is close to other places such as the Castle. We also walked to the Old Town including the Opera House near Wenceslas Square without difficulty. The hotel is 'old world' and the rooms are very appealing. Originally got dropped off at the sister hotel (Alchymist Grand) and wondered about the comparison we'd make. No worries. Shown to our room on the 4th floor front (could just make out Charles Bridge tower) - wow! Full of character with biggest bathroom I've seen. All staff extremely helpful and courteous. Meal in restaurant recommended (not cheap but […] good). If you have the breakfast make sure you have the hot option as well as it's going to cost you quite a bit with or without it. If your ideal hotel is one of the big chains with full business facilties, bars and restaurants then this isn't the place for you. If, however, you want a nice relaxed romantic hotel, in a quiet location and yet only 3-5 minutes walk away from Charles Bridge then this is the place. To me the staff at any hotel can make or break your stay and everyone […] here was friendly ( with a sense of humour ) and more to the point very efficient and good at making you feel welcome. Not everything was perfect and there were a few niggles ( toilet seat was quite wobbly and the room safe was provided but wasn't fixed to the wall or anything else ! ). But the things that were wrong were not enough to distract from everything that was right. Overall this hotel deserves the best rating and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
