Actually I tried to cancel my reservation and was very upset that when I walked into the "actual hotel" the owner told me he could not cancel the reservation and he did not have a contact # for hotels.com. I tried to call from VT but did not have good cell phone service. I explained to the owner that I had to drive back to Boston and would not be able […] to stay but again he said there was nothing he could do! I didn't have my itinerary with me so it was very frustrating to have to pay for the hotel when I did not stay there; the owner should be able to accept the cancellation. Les mer

Two glaring problems: 1. There was . . .solid human refuse. . . in the toilet - ewww. 2. Despite making advance reservations, the room was freezing cold. The room was so slow to heat- up that my daughter actually went to sleep with her winter coat on.

After checking in my room began to cool. Turned the thermostat to 70 (was off) room got cooler. Heat not working. Went to office and it was 10 minutes before someone came to desk. I was given an electric heater and told they would check my room. The heater warmed the room but it got too hot. It was either on or off so it got real hot while I slept. […] Motel close to busy highway so constant noise from traffic. No one checked the heat while I was in the room and I used the portable heater for the 3 nights I stayed. My room was serviced the day after I checked in but that was it until I left. After Saturday there were no people in the rooms next to me but 5 A.M. Sunday and Monday someone's alarm beeped for 1/2 hour. Got 4 Hrs. sleep those 2 nights as I watched Sun & Mon football. Tub/shower had sliding glass doors. I was hoping to read and relax in hot bath but doors ruined that. To get to the bathroom there was a 18 inch path between the bed and the wall. The internet was good though. But I think they knew my room didn't have heat because as soon as I mentioned my room number they pulled the heater from under the counter ! Les mer

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was very dirty, the filter on the noisy air conditioner looked like it was never changed. The shower was dirty and went from scolding hot to freezing cold. I was so tired from driving from MD all day we just decided to stay and get a few hours of sleep. I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!! […] I am not being over dramatic either and I am not even looking for a refund, this place is the pitts. Les mer

Basic value lodging - no frills, but got a good night's sleep. Did not have unusually high expectations due to the low price (half that of others in the area) - you pretty much get what you pay for. Nonsmoking room was clean and comfortable - bathroom was clean and in good repair. TV/cable, WiFi, in-room fridge, microwave, iron & coffeemaker all clean […] and working. Convenient location on the highway coming into town. Breakfast (in motel office) was pretty limited, but the made-to-order belgian waffles were hot and tasty. Only disappointment - there was a ugly hole in the ground where a pool used to be - pictures of a pool on their website are misleading and should be be removed, and the area should be fenced off so that a child cannot fall in. Basic stuff, old furniture but good sleep. Only the first night I smelled cigs, but not the 2nd night (maybe I got used to it). The location is convenient, close to rutland, and 20 mins to killington. There is basic breakfast included, so if you want to sleep and recoup there for the next ski day, in the cheap, this is good. Nothing else.no romantic […] gettaway or family vacation. Les mer

This property surpasses others in its price range - the room furnishings, linens and carpeting are contemporary and the beds were comfortable. The room was very clean and well-maintained, with expected wear and tear. The bathroom & shower were only place I found this property to fall short - the bathroom has not seen a remodel in ages, it still sports […] a ThermaSol in-room steam bath (alas, the knob to start the steam was gone). The water temperature and pressure went a little funky anytime a toilet flushed (even in another room), and our family of four could have used another towel. Les mer

inexpensive basic older motel with more extras than I expected

Room needed a good cleaning. Weird stains on the rug and holes in the blankets. Very old bathroom. The mattresses were comfortable and we felt we got exactly what we paid for: a comfortable night's sleep in a rundown room.
