If you are looking for a nice hotel with high standard and good location in central Myrtle Beach, I can recommend this 5 star hotel. We also stayed at this hotel last summer for a few days and will also stay there again if we are going to Myrtle Beach.

Caravelle Resort består av flere byggninger. Vi var heldige og fikk en av de som lå rett på stranden med havutsikt. Stor fin leiligehet med 3 soverom og 2 bad og ellers alle faciliteter. Rent og pent på rommene og det var rengjøring hver dag som vi var veldig fornøyd med. Kort vei til restauranter. Hotellet kan anbefales, vi kommer gjerne tilbake hit.

"If it sounds too good to be true...it probably is"
First of all, let me say that Im not very picky about hotels, but I wasnt to pleased with this one. I had gotten a room for an extremely good price and I paid for it online. Once I arrived, they wanted to charge me an extra 27 dollars in fees. I had gotten a smoking room, but there was no ash tray. That night, a very lengthy fight broke out in the parking […] lot that just went on and on and nobody did anything about it. The set up is very strange as well. Not all of the elevators can take you to your room. For instance if you are in room 209 you have to take a different elevator then you would if you were in room 220....even though they are in the same building. Like I said, Im not very picky about hotels but this was a bit of a frustrating stay. Les mer

I strongly recommend NOT staying here unless you don't care about the security of your items left in the room. Our balcony door would not lock and appeared to have been broken into on several occasions! The room smelled of mold and mildew! The A/C equipment was in disarray, and there were many, many names and notes scratched into the paint on the balcony […] railing that had been there for several years! DO NOT take your family here, especially small children!! We only stayed about an hour and checked out!! We went to another hotel, which is why we stayed here for an hour! "Ocean Plaza Hotel-most disgusting stay ever"
The Ocean Plaza was by far the worst hotel experience I have encountered. There was food in all hallways and stairwells, the beds had dirty linens with boogers and bloody scabs on pillows and sheets. Our room was on the 7th floor, however the elevator only went to the 6th floor. You had to lug all your belongings up and down the last flight of steps. […] The kitchen cabinets were falling off their hinges and the sink was full of bugs. The office closes at 8 and does not open until 9ish which is an inconvenience because their is no key drop so you are unable to check in and out if it's closed. Les mer

"Good Short Stay on Limited Budget"
Location not bad right on the beach. Rooms need a real cleaning especially under the beds. Patio door would not lock properly and could be opened by just rattleing the door. If you need a couple of days at a reasonable rate it is not a bad place to stay. Nice indoor pool area
"What a Nightmare"
well hotel floor was stick and super dirty(black feet within seconds of walking on it), bed sheets smelled like they where not clean, i called to ask for a extra pillow and they said they didn't had any, we immediately went and bought disinfectant , Toilet had poop stains on it , Elevator only goes to the 6th floor *we where on the seven and i specified […] i needed a elevator since i had babies*, Pool wasnt even open. The staff was beyond horrible , they didnt knew where the pool was, another one told us they didnt had a pool, if i asked them any question( all 4 employees i talked to) said different things. The ocean view was nice but getting there you had to go to a different hotel to access the ocean. The parking was good , but that was about it ..... I still cannot believe how dirty it was , we called room service for the toilet problem and the supervisor said they would send someone and it never came. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Les mer
"SLEEP IN YOUR CAR!"
Me and my two friends stayed here for our senior spring break, so keep in mind we are teenagers with very low standards and did not expect that much to begin with. One night when we got back our lights didn't work so we went to the lobby but there was no one there and a sign telling us to come back at 8AM, but apparently this was our fault because we […] were suppose to assume they owned the hotel next door and go over there. After waiting around all day for the maintenance men to come to fix our lights and right after they left our bathroom flooded. All week our sink leaked and our shower drain didn't work. The water flowed out into our room soaking our cloths and ruining my camera. They were reluctant to let us even switch room and wouldn't upgrade us. Overall this was the worst hotel any of us have every stayed at not worth it even if it is a a cheap cost. We felt unsafe going outside and I felt unsafe parking my car in their parking lot. If you care about your life or the lives of the people you are staying with GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This place is a health hazard and has completely unreasonable staff. By the way, don't bring any belongs of worth (your life) into the room because the motel is not responsible for it even if it their fault. Les mer

Can't listen to all the reviews. With a few upgrades the motel would be up to par with a few of the other motels in the area. I would definately stay there again the staff is GREAT!!! The motel is older but very nice. The room was clean, Had a kitchen and two beds. The motel was convenient to the beach and many eating places. I would recommend this motel to anyone who is on a budget. I would stay there again and probably will next year.
Over all a good place to spend a week end. Price was great although the room was smaller than I thought it would be. Very easy access to the beach.

We were a little scared after reading some reviews of this hotel. When arrived after 9pm on a Saturday and the lady at the desk was very friendly. Told us the policies and had me sign some paperwork. We loaded up the cart and headed to our room. When we walked in, the AC was already turned down low! (and by low, I mean 60 degrees!!!!) Everything was […] clean, even the oven was clean inside! The elevator was slow and sortof small, but we fit a stroller and luggage cart in there just fine. The water pressure in the toliet was slow. So there was no double flushing! The water pressure in the shower was AWESOME! We stayed in room 604. The only thing was the carpet was a little torn at the kitchen, but who really cares! It was located close to everything we needed! We were able to walk up the the amusement park and Friendly's to eat. The next day we wanted to go to the aquarium. The tickets online were $21.99, but we bought them from the front desk for $18.00!!!! We were glad to save that $8! The lady also gave us the quickest/easiest directions to Broadway at the Beach! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone! It is older, but I wasn't expecting the Ritz! I am pretty picky considering I have a 6 month old, and after this weekend, I would def go back! P.S. The pool gets a little chilly in the early evening when the sun moves because it gets really shady, but we ran out onto the beach and warmed up quickly! Les mer

If you are looking for just a place to sleep, this might be your choice. The A/C and shower worked well. The bath towels were vere thin and small. The bathroom floor looked like a twelve year old did the job. I thought I was in a remake of an old 1960's movie and expected Norman Bates to check us in. "Close to everything, but few basic comforts"
The front desk clerk was pleasant. The room's light bulbs in the entrance and vent hood were burned out but were quickly replaced by a very nice man named Terry. The remote control and phone had to also be replaced. That was taken care of within minutes of calling. However, the kitchen was extremely poorly equipped. Ended up using only the microwave. […] The walls behind the electric range was dirty with dripping grease stains. The cabinets were in bad shape with pieces of laminate missing. The visible side of the box-spring was badly stained. In general, it wasn't worth the savings. Best to pay a bit more, stay a shorter time and have a more relaxing time at a better, cleaner hotel. Les mer

"Can't beat the price for Ocean Front!"
My husband and I recently stayed at the Ocean Plaza in an oceanfront efficiency room. It was very nice to have a full size refrigerator and counter space in the room. The beds were comfortable enough, nothing to brag about. The bathroom was clean and fresh towels were delivered every morning, which I was impressed by because we've had poor luck with […] getting fresh towels at other places before. They were quite rough on our skin, but they did the trick. I would stay there again, as we had a good stay overall. The only thing I was not happy with was the smell of the carpets. The carpets in the hallway corridors and stairwells smelled atrocious. The carpet in our room smelled a little funny, but nothing like the stairwells. Overall, I recommend this place as a good motel for the price. We tend to spend most of our time on the beach, so it fit what we needed it for! Les mer
"Do Not Stay Here! Black Mold and food in room!!"
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Upon entering the room I noticed there was black mold by the front door, near fridge. Front desk proceeded to tell me it was coffee grinds. I have pictures. i have two children with allergies who I could not even allow in this room. There was a dirty straw on the floor, enough food under the bed to feed […] a pack of rats, one of the beds did not even have sheets on it!! I rented three rooms for a family reunion and only one of them were somewhat decent. The next day housekeeping did not even come to my room, I had to track them down to get towels and I was told I was not allowed more until I brought my dirty towels to them for them to count. WOW! I am honestly shocked there were no visible roaches here! This place is a real dump. i dont know why its rated a 3 star, it should bea .05. I will NEVER stay here again. One of the rooms was so awful we had to pack ourselves into the other two while we were here. I can not believe so much money was wasted on this place. We had a great stay here and It was very close to the parks and the beach. The rooms are a little out dated but considering the price it was worth it. We would stay again if we had too.

This hotel was in a good area. It had a kitchen and we enjoyed the balcony with the ocean view. The kids loved the pool, and we did enjoy the proximity to the beach and other activities. The staff was friendly and very helpful. This hotel is very outdated. I think it takes away form the appearance of cleanliness. There was mold on the ceiling above […] our shower. The sheets were clean, but the mattresses need to be replaced. The springs were uncomfortable. Overall, this hotel needs some serious work. If it wasnt for the friendly staff, and our short stay, I would have tried to find another hotel for our trip. Les mer

This was the RUDEST STAFF I have EVER dealt with. I booked through Hotels.com for an oceanfront room, but upon arrival was told that they had booked me a sideview and it was not their problem and I could call Travelocity if I wanted to. If you asked them any tourist info. , they had NO answers and were totally aggravated that you should interrupt them […] while they were playing on the computer. I would NOT recommend this place for the only reason that the staff is so rude and ugly. Les mer

HORRIBLE!!! NOT WHAT I EXPECTED!!!! The girl at the front desk who checked us in has about as much personality as a door knob. The hotel is old, really old & is in need of lots of TLC. The room was awful. The bathroom was missing a few tiles in the ceiling, when the people above us took a shower, we got wet too!! The pipes leaked!! Went to the desk […] & asked for another ocean front room (that was the best thing about this place) but nothing was available. By this time Miss Personality was off the clock & I spoke to someone who actually seemed to like her job. We were offered a room in the hotel next door, went over to check it out & found it to be much better. It was a real pain in the butt to have to reload all of the luggage, coolers, beach chairs and food we brought and then unload it again!!! I do not recommend this place...................... Les mer
"Take your own linens"
The linens and bedding are terrible. The towels will take your skin off when drying yourself. The hotel charged me $5.00 for a towel that they said had a black stain from mascara but they refused to show me the towel. Ok for a first time stay when your only 18 but will not stay again.

"Good if your too young to get another hotel."
I am 20 and no other hotels would let me stay there because age req's are usually 21 or 25. This is the only place I could find that would allow me to stay there with my brother and friends, none of which are older than me. The hotel was dirty, service was horrible, the lady at the desk actually said "this ain't no ramada inn" when I asked for an extra […] pillow. The room was clean enough, but it looked run down, the linoleum floor was peeling in the bathroom, cabinets were falling apart, shower curtain rod fell, etc. It's just a cheap hotel and it's the only one I could go to. So if I'm looking for one again I'll go back unless I'm 21. Then I'll go to the Ramada Inn to get a real hotel... Les mer
"Needs Updating!!!"
Can you believe this hotel stills uses KEYS..I mean the old fashioned kind. They also feel the NEED to CHARGE YOU A KEY FEE THAT YOU DON'T GET BACK!!! The place is very very old...no stoppers in sink or tub...I was told by front desk clerk I should have ASKED for them. The television was probably a 20" set but it did have a remote. Oh, No iron but you […] could leave your license for one while using theirs....No WIFI either!!! I will never venture into this Twilight Zone again!!!! Les mer

Not bad for the price but needs updating painting, fix mold problem in shower ceiling tiles, ect. Do not get a room on the 7th floor because the elevavator only goes to the 6th floor. Whats up with that ? Small rooms but over all not bad for the price if it wasn't for the mold in the shower ceiling tiles. Bottom Line Hotel Needs Updating.

The Hotel room was horrible! We didn't have hot water in the shower & had to run to Wal-Mart in the middle of the night after arriving to buy a screwdriver just to turn the hot water on! Front desk said they couldn't put us in another room but did offer us a room in the hotel next to us...with about 500 frat kids partying for spring break....no thank […] you! Maintenance fixed our hot water but it was the middle of the next day!!!! Our room had two double beds and when my husband pulled the covers back....there was a bug in the bed!!! GROSS! When I voiced my complaints to management, they just said oh well you can contact Hotels.com! Nothing else was offered! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! Overall the stay was good. I but the room service takes forever. Took almost 3 hours to get fresh towels wash clothes tissue. But everything is close all though the parking garage could be much more wide for big body cars!!! Other than that the stay was great, highly recommend!!!

The paint was peeling off the walls in the lobby, and that completely set the tone for the hotel! the room had a terrible smell that stayed our entire stay and the room looked worn down and the shower broke when we tried to turn the water off!! the only redeming thing about the hotel, was the view! we were alittle scared to stay here after reading the reviews, but over all for your money if your tight it was great!!!!!!!! there were a few flaws as anywhere else u would go. the inside pool was nasty had a fishy smell and it was very very cold whats the use of paying for a room with an indoor pool and cant swim cause its to cold. but other then […] that everything was great. didnt know i had a kitchenett hell anywhere else with a kitchen would of been much higher, with food lion being across the street we was able to cook a full course meal. the showers where wonderful the water was very hot the water pressure was very good just like going to get a message. the maids not to friendly but what do u expect they probably stayed up alnight partying who wouldnt living on the beach. yes i will come and come again. "Good for the money"
Room was dirty when we got there. The location is great and the full kitchen was nice. It was kind of ridiculous to pay 50 dollars per person deposit considering the condition of the room.
