Harbor View Inn - Half Moon Bay

Will stay again.

The room was very basic. No fridge, microwave or blow dryer, and the heater was a small plug in portable (although we didn't need it) The most disappointing part was the "ocean view". From our room on the bottom floor, it was through a parking lot, across (noisy) highway 1 and then a little distance past that. Bed was short, my feet hung over the edge. Very uncomfortable. Also when the intoxicated neighbours got to their room at 2:30 in the morning, it felt like they were in the room with us. It woke my husband and I out of sleep. The walls are paper thin. Both of us woke up tired and not well rested at all.

Room was clean, but certainly no ocean view. Room was very warm (No a/c) and I was very uncomfortable with keeping the window open as it was a street level room. Unfortunately, the sound of the fog horn all night kept me awake. I usually hear it in conjuction with waves.......could not hear any waves from our location. for a cheaper hotel it was just ok! can not compare it to Cypress Inn.

This was a nice place. It is dated but that is ok. The staff there was very nice. Asked for extra pillows and got them right away! I would stay there again. It was very clean!!

no AC,noisy when you open the windows because its close to streets.

The real view from your hotel window will be of Highway 1. This motel is kind of dumpy and overpriced, but not awful.

Think so hotel was way over priced! It is in bad need of updating. Still has the old key look on doors and the "contential breakfast" was old donuts and coffee.

Delighted when we found our hotel. From the outside it exceeded our expectations. they were remodeling their rooms so for a little more we up graded to the new room, which they will continue to remodel all rooms. It was beautiful , well laid out and comfortable.

It's not a fancy motel, but it's clean,very nice,comforatble and convient and the host was very nice and helpful too. It's right across from Pillar Point Harbor, several very good restaurants, a great beach for swimming or surfing and the historic town of Half Moon Bay is only 3.5 miles away. I will stay here next time I'm in the area.

We stayed at this hotel this past week and were very bummed. I want to be fair though in my review, so I'll say the positives and negatives. Positive: location! this was across the street from the Pacific Ocean and had some fun places across the street to go eat and have drinks. Barbaras Fish Restaurant was fantastic! You can actaully walk there if […] you want from the hotel. The front desk person was very friendly. The room was clean. Negative: The room was not even close to the pictures on their website. I asked the manager and they told me that only two rooms were renevated to look this way-what!?! Our room looked like motel 6. We had an ocean view at least, until another guest drove their monster semi truck and parked it in front of our room (blocking the entire view). I asked the front desk to ask the guest to move and they didnt. Keep in mind, this was the only perk of the hotel since the room was falsely adverised. I do understand that you get what you pay for, that being said we only paid a motel price and got that worth. If you want a clean room and dont mind the motel 6 look inside and may or may not have a view then I would say this hotel is fine. I like this place. Nice location close to restaurants, beach, harbor, shops, etc. A new restaurant has opened right next door since I last visited offering California Confort Food. If it's still in business next time, I'll give it a try. The Direct TV in the room was challenging. Also, a couple of light bulbs were dead or missing. And the wifi was […] spotty. Pretty spartan but all in all, a good spot if you don't expect luxury. Les mer

I went thair to see my son and his family and they live just around the corner from the INN. Had a grate stay.

Please be sure you try the restaurant right across the street called Flavor. It is amazing. I would definatly recommend staying in this hotel to anyone.

We had a non smoking room. but it doesn't help when smokers smoke right out side your room.. only bad think about hotel. loved the location!! loved the services!! very kind people too..

The bed was a bit uncomfortable. You really could feel the springs in the mattress. The walls were also very thin. The service was friendly and professional and you could easily walk to fun restaurants and bars. Probably wouldn't stay there again unless a room remodel happened or if the room were 1/2 the price that I paid.

very average motel overpriced paper wrap around toilet for our "protection" but the shower needed a little more elbow grease

Well the rooms are not insulated very well. You can hear everything that goes on in the other rooms. The mattress is like a bed of springs and if you stay there bring ear plugs or a sound machine if you want to sleep. The breakfast is a joke, so be prepared to go out if you like to eat.

This place was awesome. Great price, great location, great service, clean, affordable. I hope that I get to go there again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check-in was smooth, staff was friendly and the room was clean. There was no elevator, so you have to carry your bags up the steps if you're not on the first floor. Between the highway traffic noise and the forghorn in the harbor that went off about every 8 seconds through the night, it was impossible to sleep.

The Inn turned out to be a motel. The ocean view that they advertised was not an ocean view at all because the ocean was so far away that we couldn't even see the water. The MOTEL was hidden behind the main street. Terrible, will never come again.

The only thing is we could hear the next room's TV. And also talking sometimes. Not all the time

This one is clean, older, very basic, with a long distance view of the ocean. If basic is what you want, it's OK...however, there is no airconditioning and when you open the windows Highway 1 is right outside...literally. Unfortunately for those reasons along, we can't recommend.

Decent quality little motel, right near a little shopping center and restaurants. Nothing special about the motel, but great little location.
