Argo Hotel Mykonos - Mykonos

We had read all the very favourable reviews about the Argo before booking and chose it based on them. It certainly olives up to its reputation. Our week came near the end of their season and yet their standards were maintained in exactly the same way as if it had been the very beginning. There […] were people from all nationalities staying and those who were doing island tours (American and Canadian visitors) told us that this was the best place they'd stayed in. The pool is quiet and relaxing and you can have light meals and any drinks from the very well run bar.Our romm had a good view of the pool and the sea.It was cleaned every day with new towels and a change of linen provided.The breakfast is so enjoyable and available until 10. It is taken at tables on a terrace, beside the pool and consists of fresh dishes. Do try the little tiangles of bread with yogurt and tomato with a drizzle of oil and pepper.The hotel is situated a short stroll from the beach which is lined with restaurants. If you prefer a quieter area take a stroll along the cliff at the end of the beach to a lovely little cove which has a taverna which is really reminisent of the 'Shirley Valentine' movie. Beware the little fish in the sea who like to nibble!! Mykonos in September is warm and more relaxing, without the 'club and party' scene and has retained the feeling of the Greek island first experienced by the sixties generation. We will return. Was nervous booking it because of the its star rating, and wasn't sure if I could trust great reviews about a 2 star hotel, but took the "risk". It is a great hotel, amazing location, with a great staff. Feel luck was on my side that we got this hotel with so many on a number of different beaches, the beach here is my favourite on the island. This hotel was a great place to stay while in Mykonos. When we arrived on the ferry there was a very friendly gentleman that greeted us and took us to the hotel (free of charge). Upon arrival we were greeted by the most helpful front desk person, who was more than happy to explain the layout of the island and give recommendations. Our room was huge […] (especially on European standards) with two beautiful double beds with canopy draping. These were by far the most comfortable beds we stayed in throughout our 2 week adventure in Europe. The hotel is about a 3 minute walk to the beach, where you will find a ton of restaurants and hundreds of beach chairs to lay out on (for a price of course - about 5 euros). About a 10 minute walk from the hotel is another beach where you will again find restaurants and beach chairs - this beach is much more expensive with the same view so I would recommend staying at the beach by the hotel. There is also a bus stop that is 1 min walk away from the hotel and for 1.20 euros it will take you to the center of the town. This was very nice for shopping and to explore the island some more. Overall, I thought this was a wonderful hotel, especially for the price, and would recommend staying here to anyone going to Mykonos. Les mer

Great hotel, great service and great location

Great location, 2min walk to the beach. Nice pool too. Located right next to the bus stop, so easy to get into/back from Mykonos town. Breakfast a little less appealing, but overall moreso a 3* place than 2*

What a wonderful hotel! After doing much research on Mykonos hotels and seeing some really outlandish prices, we settled on booking Argo based on reviews from others and definitely not disappointed. The hotel is very clean, has all the modern amenities that you need and the staff is extremely nice and helpful. The location is fabulous - it's right near […] a beach (albeit not the best beach in Mykonos) and, most importantly, right near the boat stop that takes you to all the other beaches. The hotel also has a nice pool if that is your thing (although you should definitely explore the beaches). It is also right next to the bus stop that takes you into the main town. There is a pretty good complimentary breakfast and transportation to and from airport/ferry. The staff is extremely accomodating and helpful - on the last day, they gave us a ride into town early and later met us with the luggage at the ferry port so that we would not have to come back. Overall, a fabulous place to stay and I will definitely come again. Highly highly recommend Argo! Les mer

The hotel is fairly small and the staff are extremely friendly. Thie beach is metres away, the pool is beautiful though refreshing! This is a quiet area of the island, but a bus ride away from all the action. (bus stop outside)

Room is spacious, clean and tidy. Location is great so we can go to the beach within 5mins by walk and just take less than 10 mins to Mykonos town by bus. All the staff are really helpful, check in & check out time only take less than a mins. Breakfast is quite good near the pool side,just to be caution to ensure the balcony close all the time to avoid […] the Cockroach get inside the room. Les mer

The hotel was exactly what I pictured Greece would look like. Our group included 3 people and the room was more than sufficient for our needs. The villa style rooms were quaint and the back access to the beach was incredibly convenient. The owner was incredibly nice and greeted us at the beach and dinner making us feel very welcome. The pool was gorgeous […] and the breakfast was perfect (food and hours). The only smear on the great time we had at the Argo was that the temperature of the shower would only go to warm rather than hot. I would highly recommend this hotel. Les mer

Excellent location, very clean. Friendly staff and excellent shuttle service to airport. Try the restaurant too, it's excellent!

My sister and I stayed there for 4 nights and we loved the place so much that we decided to returned at the end of our trip for 2 more nights. The staff is very friendly and helping with any needs you may have. The restaurant associated with the hotel serves the best food for a very good price...it is worth to go.

We found this hotel the best of our whole stay around the Greek islands. The staff are always happy to help and their tips very helpful when we rented a car. Very big thanks to Fotis, always genuinely happy to assist. The hotel is in a lovely setting, next to the beach and away from the crowds. It is only a 5 minute drive to the town but it has the […] convenience of being in a quiter area. The rooms are very clean and refurbished, with a safe and mini fridge. Beds are confortable and so is the pillow! The only downside is some of the rooms have a window in the bathroom overlooking the room so you can see everything happening in the shower while you are in the room! Les mer

If you're staying in Mykonos and want somewhere affordable with a great location, close to the beaches and away from the town, this is your hotel. Service is great and friendly, rooms are quaint and great for the price. Plenty of more expensive hotels across the street but if you're looking for excellent budget, this is your hotel.

For the price you pay, you cannot have a better place. Affordable and gives the same benefits as most 5 star hotels around it. Great area and beach is a quick 2mins walk. Highly recommended

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights with a friend. We found this to be our favourite hotel of all that we stayed in throughout the Greek Islands. This hotel has a nice friendy atmosphere. It has a great breakfast and beautiful and relaxing pool area for when you have had enough of laying on the beach which is located just 100m down the road. I found […] this location in Platis Gialos to be perfect. You are out of the main town of Mykonos but close to shops, restaurants and one of the nicer beaches on the island. We walked around to Paradise Beach and didn't find it to be as nice as this. I would say this was definitely a great pick. The hotel also had a good mix of people staying from singles, families and couples. Hotel isn't rowdy at all and it was just nice and relaxing. I wish I had stayed longer. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Les mer

Hotel parfait, vu le prix !! Très bien situé, hôtel pas trop grand, pas trop petit... parfait je vous disais... Par contre, la plage (donc l’hôtel) est situé à 4 km de Mikonos town, soit 10 min par bus (mais 1,6€ le trajet!) et à pieds, c'est faisable, mais prévoyez une bonne suée car il y a de bonnes côtes, à l'aller ou au retour... au moins ça fait […] faire un peu de sport... You'll need a car to reach city center - bus or hotel van are options too - but it's on a good place to relax. Amazing beach few meters. Nice staff and good intallations.
