Hadde et fantastisk opphold på Pudi Boutique Hotel! Flotte rom, med enorme bad, internasjonale tv-kanaler, hyggelige og hjelpsomme ansatte som snakker godt engelsk og perfekt beliggenhet. Det var mange OK resturanter i umiddelbar nærhet som var fine til både frokost, lunsj eller middag. Ligger også flere butikker som selger vann/brus/is osv rett i nærheten. Treningsrommet var desverre litt lite, men det var ingen andre som brukte det! Hvis man trenger litt mer plass kan man jogge i Fuxing Park. Er alt i alt kjempefornøyd med oppholdet, har ingen negative tilbakemeldinger og vil helt klart bo på samme sted neste gang!

veldig rent og pent hotell i sentrum av Shanghai. Rommene er fine, og blir vasket hver dag. stort bad! Vi ønsket vestling frukost, så hadde ikke dette inkludert. Men der er en bra cafe på andre siden av gaten, gode ciabatta, ferskpresset juice og god kaffe. Det er lokalisert rett ved fabric market, som var veldig bra for oss som ønsket å sy oss mange nye klær.

"Close to the Bund"
Actual conditions of the hotel and rooms are below expectations in comparison to posted photographs and stated Star-rating. The room we were given showed its age and wear and tear, although its cleanliness was acceptable. The smell of disinfectant in the corridors from my room to the elevator was suffocating. Reception staff was helpful only to a point. […] Room has WiFi but reception was poor and sporadic. Room lighting was dim and discouraged reading. "Good for a overnight"
We just stay one night, and for this case I think was a ok hotel. But, I wouldn't stay here for longer. The attendants are rude. The room with no windows and there are mirrors every where. The location of the hotel is good, close to the station and the Bund. But the area around the hotel is not enjoyable.

Good location with the reasonable price, but the kettle was broken and we required to change. The receptionist was giving an excuse and asked us to call and replace tomorrow morning. Anyway, even though this stuff happened to me, still I am willing to recommend the hotel.
"Perfect Place to Stay"
This Hotel is a great place to stay as it is central to the heartbeat of Shanghai and the Bund. The room (executive suite) was spacious and clean although the bath did not hold water at all! The breakfast was actually very nice except for the mouldy bread on offer but they were more than happy to get another loaf once I pointed it out. This hotel is […] not suited for those who want breakfast and are in a wheelchair or have a walking disability. There is no lift to the restaurant. You have to walk up a flight of stairs to get there. Don't be put off by the fact the hotel entrance seems to be down a dimly lit, seemly abandoned street. I never once felt unsafe and everything is only a hop, step and jump away. The only downside I found to the hotel was that the staff spoken almost NO ENGLISH. This made life hard when wanting to know or book a tourist attraction or in getting directions to somewhere. I found Google and Google maps to be my best friend. The hotel claims to have fast internet connections, but I had a lot of trouble using their connections. I constantly dropped out which was hard as I was on business and spent many hours trying to send emails, which would have taken minutes on a proper system. The bed was comfy and the heating in the room great. TV was terrible though, but I guess who has time to watch it, in-between work and sightseeing. There was no view from my room in fact the glass window had been frosted over so I couldn't see out. My room was facing the Bund but because of the other tall buildings nearby there was no view. Take a taxi if you have a ways to travel. It's cheap however I found drivers often get you close to where you want to go but not to where you want to go. I had a few who dropped me off and pointed the direction I had to walk to get to where I actually wanted to go. "good location, not good value for money"
we stayed here for two nights and the hotel receptionists were very rude, they couldn't care less if you had any problems, we changed rooms 2 times because the first time the bed was circular ( not big enough for two people to sleep on) and the 2nd room smelt like someone was blowing their cigarette in your face and the room we stayed in was very small […] and in my opinion, you get better 2 star hotels for half the price. I booked an executive suite, which was very much worth the price (about 50 Euro). The first suite, that was presented to me, did have a certain odeur (room probably not used for a while). I wanted to see an other suite and the next one was good. The interior decorating is also very special, really different from other hotels. I liked it. The hotel was value for money. Quick check in. Service by conceirge was excellent, willing to help at all times. Location was very good, near to the Bund, Nanjing Street and metro station, all within 5 mins walk. Recommended!

only benefit of this hotel is its close location to the bund and Nanjing east street. Other than that this hotel could be given a miss. For those who are thinking of booking the room with window, forget it. There is NO window at all, even though the charges were higher. Facilities like Sauna, Jazzuzi were also absent, even though it was listed as present […] on hotes.com website. The most irritating that was the air-conditioning. The rooms had no windows, and the air conditioning failed to work properly. We had to inform the staff 4 times before they were willing to take a look. We checked out after day 4 to visit Suzhou and intended to check in again after returninf from Suzhou, and we crossed our fingers and prayed we will not get the same room. We got an adjacent room, but there was a problem with the air conditoning again. Again we went to complain to the hotel staff, who were non-chalent in their replies, saying that "we have to accept what it is". "Good location, near the Bund"
Good location very near to the Bund, a sightseeing spot. Just about 1 minute from the corner of Peach hotel and in front of the Bund laser tunnel. Staffs is very good and all of them can speak English. You can ask them call a taxi to go anywhere you want or help you to plan your destination. Train ticket office is not far from the hotel. It has family […] mart and local store on the back of hotel, also some chinese restaurant and no expensive. But the room is small as I expected but clean. The room is clean and tidy. Location is good and it takes only 5-10 mins walk to metro station. Photo in the website are not updated. My room is on the 3/F and the decoration is new and fine.

"shabby, small, but great location"
Don't be fooled by pics on profile, this hotel hasn't seen an update for at least 15 years. And the upgrades are thrown togethers. Bathroom was basically two walls tacked on in the corner and was more like echo chamber. Towels were very worn and I think the bed was made from Chinese hard wood. Internet is nothing you'd expect from a "business" hotel. […] You wont be doing any work from this hotel. Connection drops even with a hard wire attach. WiFi is worse. If you're looking for cheap, you'll get what you pay for. The location is very close to the action, but off a side street so cabs may find it hard to find.... but it cuts down on the street noise. Maid was nice but other hotel staff are very hands off. My advice is spend the extra bucks and stay somewhere else. You'll get a bed, don't expect much more. Les mer

"Manhatten Business Hotel (Bund) Shanghai"
The best feature of this hotel is its location so close to the Bund, the pedestrian tunnel and pedestrian street. The hallways looked very dated, our room seemed to be up-dated with a modern bathroom (shower only) and nice complimentary items. The room was very spacious but had no windows. The surrounding neighbourhood was not very comfortable to walk, […] but the location made up for this. Hotel staff was very attentive and requests were attended to immediately. For a short stay sight-seeing I would recommend this hotel. I cannot comment on the food because we did not eat in. Les mer

I had a deluxe room, dont expect too much, you almost could not see through the window but ok as you were looking in to a concrete wall anyway. a little bit aquard with the glas door to the toilet. good internet and big TV. nice bed, and international power plugs at each side.

Though the outside appearance is not good, it is very well located for the river and subway and shopping. Price was good and service friendly and prompt. They turned OFF the airconditioning in the middle of the night each night we stayed, which caused us to wake up warm and humid. Otherwise, we would stay again due to location and price!

I guess you get what you pay for. it was inexpensive, fairly clean and close to sights, metro, restaurants, etc. the hotel is a bit shabby and hasn't been updated in years. the staff is quite sullen and absolutely unwilling to help you with anything. But, we had a good time in Shanghai and this is a good location. There's nothing special about the place […] other than its clean, quiet, and no frills. The hotel is just a few mins away from the busiest street in Shanghai - Nanjing Rd. That's the best thing about the hotel. We stayed for three nights in a Deluxe room on the top floor. The room was ok, a large (but hard) bed, tv with some english channels, small bathroom. The only weird thing was the window, which sort of had a glass/wooden wall in […] front of it, so you couldn't really take a look out from the room. I'm guessing it's because the window was facing something not so nice. The surrounding neighborhood is not that bad, the street vendors are quite annoying and some of the sidewalks are small if you're trying to pull your suitcase towards the hotel. But other than that it's ok and it is indeed very close to the big nice street and to the metro station. We had breakfast there once and it was quite bad. We ordered toast and cappuccino; the toast was served with butter and jam - I found a small piece of glass in my jam! The lady that works in the tiny bar doesn't really speak english so it's hard to communicate about the breakfast choices. Wi-fi was available for free, which we really appreciated, although it was somewhat slow. In summary, it's a really good hotel if you intend to only sleep there and spend your time somewhere else. If you are just going to sleep and have a shower in this hotel, it's a good choice. The location is excellent and the lobby is quite attractive. The fancy pictures don't tell the reality about the rooms, they are dark and smell weird. It's kind of awkward that the shower and the toilet seat can be seen trough the window when you're lying on the bed. […] We stayded in an "elegant room". We arrived at 3am and checked into the hotel although our reservation was for the next day. For this premature check in we paid a 4 hr charge which was agreeable. The location is very good and we could practically walked to most destinations. The front desk staff was okay in answering most questions but the hotel could not provide us with a city map. […] We walked to another hotel to get one. The housekeeping staff was efficient and attend to all complaints pro mptly and cheerfully.The room is small but compactwith all the necessaries. Good location --- very average hotel. Old and desperately in need of refresh and remodel,,, Tiny bathroom-- carpets stained. if you need something near the Bund on the cheap--- this might be your place. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

This review is about the Manhattan Business Hotel on Dianchi Road, just off the Bund, behind the famous Fairmount Peace Hotel. It was clean; my roon was updated with nice desk and shower. Location is close to Nanjing walking street and subway. One can take subway Line 2 from Pudong Airport direct to East Nanjing Road station; use exit 7 and walk a few […] blocks east on Nanjing Road (Nan Jing Dong Lu) almost to Bund, then at Silk King (Si Chuan Zhong Lu) go north one block to Dianchi Road and a few steps east to hotel. On Google map on October 2011, the hotel is located just east of "China Construction Bank." Reverse route and take Line 2 one stop to Pudong financial district. There are several restaurants nearby, from low to high end. For breakfast, try the street seller of flat bun with fried egg, one-half block away. China Mobile is close in case you need a phone or SIM card. Bank of China is around the corner to cash travelers checks. Hotel front desk staff is friendly, facilities are updated, location is great -- I'll definitely stay here again. Les mer

Had a very nice stay at this hotel, the concierge was very helpful and always ready to assist us especially since there is language barrier. The Bund is just around the corner so if you are too tired or just alone, you can still enjoy a little sightseeing without any effort... Nanjing road and lots of restos and food shops are all just around the vicinity, […] and the subway stop, East Nanjing station, is about 5-10 mins walk towards Nanjing Road, so going to places like Yuyuan garden, Xintiandi, and the railway stations are so easy. The only thing that might be an issue is the size of the room so better book the Deluxe Room if you want ample space. Otherwise the standard twin rooms are ok for medium-built people. Also, they don't have a proper resto inside. They only have a sitting area in the lobby where you can have a snack or drink but no buffet-style dining. What is special about this hotel is that it has a vintage feel and for us that is a treat. Also it is at the back of the legendary Peace Hotel so lots of tourists about. All in all, for its low price, this hotel is highly recommended. Will definitely go back. Les mer

Great place to stay if you want to be close to The Bund and near a Subway station without having to book some overkill high rise. Free Wi-Fi, currency exchange, bottled water. While some say the rooms were small, I found the King Suite to be perfect with the size. It was big enough for a bed, desk, closet and nightstands. "Convenient but basic"
Hotel is located at a convenient area, close to taxis, subway and shops. Staff is pleasant and helpful. It tries to have a theme, which is pleasant. However, rooms are very small and dark - there is no windows and lighting is lacking. It can be good if you just want to have to have a place to sleep for a couple of nights.

Easy as Pie every time. can walk (a good hike) to both the shanghai Municipal Water museum as well as the Urban Planning museum/People's square in the other direction, or 1 minute to the incredibly beautiful historic Bund. hotel feels like it's on an alley, kind of dark and slightly foreboding, but never once felt unsafe. with the price its definitely worth it, its definitely cheap.....cant ask for more...though small room but good location...just walking distance for sightseeing, good coffee shops, resto, convenient stores, subway... its really worth it.
