Value Place Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

Hotel was not as nice as I was led to believe but it was bearable. Stayed second night in another motel close to beach.

We traveled down from Michigan (13 hour drive to Myrtle Beach) all day Saturday. We didn't arrive in M.B until close to midnight and simply needed a cheap place to crash before beginning our vacation at an oceanfront resort. Service here is awful, I asked for a toothbrush and hairdryer and was hastily informed they weren't available. Really?! A hotel […] without complimentary toothbrushes? Well I had booked a room that should have been non smoking, I could tell that the room had been a room for smoking. It made me sick to my stomic. When we check in the desk person was not very friendly to me. The hallways smelled like mold was in the carpet in the hallways. The hotel smelled awful. The beds were not comfortable. The guy at the front desk was crabby. This place was more of an extended stay establishment. We woke up at 7 am to a couple having a domestic dispute and it took a while before the front desk responded to it. So we endured about 45 minutes of yelling and door slamming. the hotel stay was horrible! no pillows in the room, a broken toliet, & a broken heater! unfriendly staff! avoid at all cost!

Needed an inexpensive place to stay. Just a place to rest my head while I played in a tournament. Night clerk was less than impressive. I felt as if I were bothering him with an 11 o'clock check-in. Strong smell of smoke upon entering the hallways. The room served its purpose and nothing more. Saw one roach in my bathroom during my 3 night stay. Mini […] blinds were on the window but no curtains. The light from the parking lot lit up the room as if it were daytime................all night. A little difficult to sleep from all the doors that slammed shut throughout the night and morning. This could have been alleviated by courteous guests. Could hear the alarm clock from the room next door going off all morning on my second night stay. Found a sewing needle on the laminated hardwood floors. I felt the floors could have been a bit cleaner. I felt safe in the hotel because you need a pass key to enter the hallways as well as your room. Maid service is not available everyday. All in all the hotel served its purpose in that I had a place to store my belongings, rest my head, and shower at a discounted rate. Les mer

The check in set the tone for a disappointing stay. The office was locked and the man at the desk was rude and argumentative. The plumming was loud and the entrance doors were locked at random. Housekeeping was an additional charge as were kitchen ware and a coffee pot. As i promised the man who checked us in, I won't be back.

Value Place is fine for a very short stay. The room was clean overall. The kitchenette offered a fridge, sink and two surface burners. Plates, coffee maker, cook ware etc. are available at an extra charge. We received limited linens however were offered more due to the holiday. The linens were dingy and the bed spread was burned. The bed was good for […] our short stay although it was simply a mattress on a platform. Room is not cleaned unless you clean it or pay extra for maid service. Overall Value Place is good for a short stay no more than a day or two. Les mer

The people who run the hotel are nice just don't try to leave a message for them after hours. We did not care for the strong smell of smoke entering the building But the non smoking room was clean and smoke free.

For a last minute stay and the price, if you're on a budget, this hotel meets the criteria. The check in was quick and easy and the hotel staff who waited on us was very courteous, informative and attentive to our questions.

The room was clean and offered a small kitchenette area. However, I wouldn't compare this with a "hotel" as it is the type of place that people rent for weekly or monthly stays or are in-between places. The live-onsite attendant was very nice and helpful. If I had to sum it up... you get what you pay for at this place.

My hotel stay at Value Place was pretty good. After planning a lil' non expensive getaway to Myrtle Beach the pricing was beautiful but it made me very curicious on how the hotel may actually be. Check-In was swift, the room was just ok, really standard but excellent for the price. The location is wonderful, around the outlets, plenty of food places, […] and gas stations. Bathroom was clean which was a plus, the beds were kinda hard but expected. Awesome TV with a bunch of channels, Fridge and Micro... A little smelly, like a smoke odor... The owner greeted us on the way out and thank us for the stay and also was asking how my stay was. Thought that was nice.. I recommend, but only if your on a tight budget... Les mer
