Hilton Watford hotel - Watford

Var på èn natts opphold på Hilton i Watford. Ankom på kvelden presis kl 21.30 lokal tid. Den mildt sagt lite imøtekommende resepsjonisten forklarte at det ikke var muligheter for å spise på denne tiden av døgnet. Etter litt om og men, fikk vi bestille en salat fra baren. Vi disponerte 2 rom, disse rommene lå innerst i en rekke av lange korridorer. På […] rom nr 1 var det grusomt varmt og klamt, selv etter at vi skrudde av luftanlegget(som ikke kan stilles lavere enn 20 grader) og lufting. På dette rommet fungerte heller ikke skyllefunksjonen på toalettet. På rom nr 2 var vinduet åpent og rommet var kaldt. Barnesikringen på vinduet var ødelagt slik at vinduet stod på vidt gap, og hadde lås på håndtaket slik at det ikke kunne lukkes. rett under vinduet var det et tak som var tilgjengelig for rommene bortenfor og fra bakkeplan. Løsningen var å dra vinduet så langt inntil som mulig, og tette gapet med håndkler. Felles for begge rom er at det føltes som en evighet før det ble varmt vann i dusjen.På begge rom er det endel støy fra hovedveien rett ved. På den positive siden så var det fin frokost med godt utvalg. For vår del, innfridde dessverre ikke Hilton i dette tilfelle. Les mer

Booked a suite was expecting a nice room and hotel it was a Hilton after all - got to the hotel at 2pm rooms are supposed to be ready by 2pm we booked 2 rooms one suite and one basic double - the double was ready but the suite wasn't so we went to the double room to wait this room was ok for the price on the ground floor there were lots of steps up […] and down so not easy with cases/bags at 2:45 I called reception and they were able to let us into the suite at almost double the cost I was looking forward to a nicer room however it was only marginally larger with a sofa in it so wasn't impressed at all. At night all we could hear was the heater for the pool switching on and off every other minute and a humming sound all of the time - the tv had a rubbish signal and was unwatchable and when I went to use the pool it was closed for a baby class for 2 hours so when I returned the next day to relax in the jacuzzi low and behold it was also shut so I had a quick swim in the cold water. Breakfast is £10 if you pay at reception the lady in the restaurant was lovely but food was very basic no bacon and cheeses that were dry around the edges as they were out so long bear in mind that next to the hotel is a Toby carvery doing breakfast for 3.99 all in!!! Would not stay here again as I have stayed in better travel lodges and premier inns at a much reduced price Les mer

Alright for an overnight stay, but tired and needs to up their game to stay up to standard of other short stay hotels. Very convienient for M1 traffic.

Gym and pool small but quiet whilst we were there so usable. Didn't use the restaurant but went next door to the Toby Carvery and up the road to Sainsburies and Pizza Hut as it was cheaper.

Very nice, room was warm and comfortable and very quiet considering the location, heard some drunk people come in about 12 but only as they walked past the room. The staff were friendly only thing was they asked us twice if we wanted to be involved in the Hilton loyalty program, asking once would've been enough. The pool and spa were comfortable, just […] a bit tired looking and changing rooms were very small, towels were a bit ropey too, but that's being picky. We were allowed to use the pool after we checked out as well which was nice. Breakfast was yummy and loads of choice, staff were friendly in there too. Paid 16 pounds something for a large wine and double vodka and coke.. Suppose that's hotel prices but seemed a bit steep. Had dinner at the Toby next door, much cheaper but probably not as nice, overall a comfortable and relaxing stay. Oh and Warner bros studio about a 5 minute drive.. That was very good too! Les mer

My girlfriend and I booked this for a weekee away as we were seeing the Warner Bros tour nearby. It was great value for money overall, the food was a little pricy in the restaurant however. Service was great, very friendly! The room was very nice, we also got an upgrade as it was my better half's birthday. 5/5

Perfect hotel for staying over one night on business or pleasure. All staff very polite and helpful. Nice little gym and pool for a quick per evening workout. Lovely relaxed bar area downstairs.

Restraunt food all microwaved. Did not hesitate to remove items from bill every table complained about food. Took 1 hour to get starter

The hotel has a lovely gym and pool but the building feels old and in need of updating. The breakfast was great but room service was expensive.

A good quality hotel, staff were friendly and helpful. The cleanness of the hotel was good, and the rooms were comfortable although the heating needs to be sorted out, as the first night it was too cold and then the second night it was too hot! you could not control the heating yourself.

The hotel is close to the M1 and it is easy to drive from here to central Watford. It is a functional location. The gym is fine (though very small) and the rooms are perfectly comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. My only criticism would be that I ordered a sandwich and chips from room service and it was ridiculously expensive and not particularly […] nice. Not the best Hilton Hotel, cold rooms, heating needs upgrading slow to heat up, decor outdated in rooms, hallway, restaurant cold in morning, buffet breakfast not kept hot enough..Staff very friendly but reception didnt even ask if we enjoyed our stay on checking out. Poor TV resolution...

Didn't stay long in the hotel due to work commitments but it was 100% spot on for everything I needed. The highlight was the bed - believe it or not - the most comfortable night's sleep I've ever had in a hotel.

Reception staff curt and not customer friendly. We were not informed that the hotel pool could not be used on Sunday afternoon until after 5.30p.m. as the pool was rented out for swiming classes. We were also not informed at check in times of meals etc. The dinner menu in the restaurant was not child friendly and most people left the hotel to eat elsewhere. […] I also objected to a bottle of water in the room priced at £3.95!! Room comfy and clean and great to have a pool and sauna to use. Staff helpful and polite. Not in the most grand of locations but ideal for a stopover and to see Harry Potter Studios.

Good hotel with the staff being friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very well presented and plenty of choice. Waiting staff helpful asking if there was anything else you required. Wish I could of used the pool (that's my fault not the hotels) but there is always next time as I would book again.

Convenient for motorway, and very close to Warner Bros studios. Toby Carvery next door to hotel good for meals as hotel bar and restaurant very expensive. Breakfast excellent.

We booked a Kingsize Deluxe room but the only thing that could possibly have been classed as deluxe was the headboard! This was merely a standard room with a kingsized bed in - and a very hard, uncomfortable one at that. We expected more from the Hilton name but unfortunately, got less! We recently stayed in a Holiday Inn Express which had the same […] amenities in the room but also included a sofa - and for less money! The room was said to have bathrobes - it didn't until we complained. We believed there to be no hairdryer (one was duly brought the next day) only to find it before leaving in a black bag, tucked at the back of a shelf under the work desk (just where you expect to find a hairdryer!). The bathroom was bogstandard - only a shower over the bath and the wardrobe had only one high shelf and no space to store clothes as the iron and ironing board were stored there! There was no air conditioning and the heat throughout the hotel was unbearable at times - especially in the rooms. A fan was provided but proved to be unsuitable.The staff were friendly and helpful, the Receptionist gave us a complimentary drink in addition to having the robes sent up, and the breakfast was very nice - although at £7 per head it should be! There is however, a Toby Carvery next door which offers a full breakfast at half the price! Sorry, not overly impressed. Les mer

You get better in a budget hotel. Room had no airconditioning. You get a desk fan which makes a noise so it's difficult to get to sleep. Trouser Press was broken, I would have expected better in a Hilton Hotel.

We had a comfortable stay...we stayed there to attend olympics event..fast connections to central london. Did not use any of the hotel services though.. Rooms were very clean and comfirtable..

Everyhing was upto standard and expectations. One suggestion is to have a DVD player so that these can be watched

Helpful staff, good room, excellent breakfast. Leisure facility excellent. Only downside was that the room and the corridors were too hot.

Enjoyable stay, happy that the hotel amended our original booking to meet our requirements. Think perhaps that the bathrooms would benefit from extractor fans to prevent excessive condensation. Overall very happy, thanks.
