Staying at The George Washington Hotel was a treat! So charming ... clean, comfortable, great staff, location, and amenities. Only wish I could have stayed longer - would have gone to the spa! There's always next time.

This was a great find and very close to the facility I was visiting for work. I really enjoyed the historical nature of the hotel and loved the architectural elements.

Stopped here on the way to Pittsburgh and had a short but enjoyable stay. Very clean and comfy with a great restaurant and pool. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel and an overall great stay. My only complaint is their desire to "fee" you to death. Not included in the price, which was a great price, was $5.00 for parking and $1.50 for the use of the room safe, which we didn't use. Both of those are per day. This is hotel is very cute and the old colonial look of the building adds charm to this little boutique hotel. However, what is not so charming are the very thin walls. The first day we were woken up by a gentleman having a somewhat private conversation, It literally sounded like the person was in our bathroom. It was a little annoying to to be hearing […] every word of his conversation, even though he wasn't even speaking loudly. There were also two parties that took place, and when we got to our room the furniture, at some points, was vibrating from the bass of the loud music. To say the music was extremely loud and disturbing is an understatement. It felt like our bedroom was in the middle of the dance floor! When we called the front desk, they were not very hospitable or accommodating and seemed to have an "owell, get over it" kind of attitude. I would not stay here again, it is not worth the money. Fabulous hotel...everything was perfect from a night-cap at the bar to Sunday morning brunch! We were even greeted by Santa Claus and got an unexpected picture with him! Quality hotel and beautifully renovated! Thanx. Barbara

We had a wonderful stay at the GW. We had never been before, but will make sure to do so again and recommend it to our friends. Hospitality was great, food fantastic and the bed was very comfortable.

We spent a pleasant night at the hotel at Thanksgiving along with other family members. The rooms are fairly spacious, beds comfortable, bathrooms nice. The hotel is in a lovely little town, which is well worth a stroll. Three things seemed odd: The hotel charges overnight guests to park in its outdoor, unsecured lot. The materials in our room said […] there was a shower room by the pool, but there hasn't been one since the hotel was renovated. The hotel takes $50 out of one's debit or credit account "in case there are any charges to the room after the bill has been paid." (I prefer to settle up at checkout.) Les mer

This hotel was super. Comfy bed, clean, big shower, and a very welcoming staff. It felt very high end but the price wasn't too high. My girlfriend was very impressed with the surprise get away especially the "classiness" of the hotel. The location was great with a pedestrian walking mall (home to eclectic shops, lots of eateries and a wine shop) only […] 2 blocks away. I grew up in Winchester and remember the GW Hotel in all of its incarnations; of course, it was a novel experience to stay there. It is a very grand old building and while the decoration is a bit "corporate," it is confortable and very convenient.

Our third visit to the hotel. Property is very well maintained and comfortable. Very close to the downtown historic sites and the walking mall. A great value for the price.

Great Elegant hotel. only problem, the corners of the bed stuck out & we banged our knees on them. But it was nonetheless, a terrific experience. Great service & a lovely hotel environment. Lovely room, except as we said, the knees..ouch!

I've lived in Winchester my entire life and chose the George Washington Hotel to get married at and spend my wedding night. The ceremony was in the patio garden which is beautiful! We were on our way from MN to DC and took a side trip through Winchester. We had a reservation but when we arrived they had upgraded us to a suite as hotel was overbooked. Beautiful room, gorgeous hotel, great staff and such a treat. Fun walking around the area also. Definitely would recommend the George Washington!

The staff was extremely attentive, friendly and accommodating. The overall quality of the room and furnishings was among the nicest I have found, including the Waldorf Astoria, the Fairmont and the Mark Hopkins. The food at the Dancing Goat was quite good.

The only problem we encountered was the early checkout (11 am) and our breakfast was overlooked. The card on the door handle was picked up, but breakfast came at 10:45 instead of the scheduled 9:45, and only after a reminder. The staff "made it right" by not charging us for breakfast and giving us until noon to check out (we only asked for extra time […] to eat). The pool is very cool, fun for kids, but kind of small, and it was chlorinated a little on the heavy side, but I've only used saltwater pools for the past few years. It's hard to go back. It was overall a great stay and one of the best hotels I've been in for quite a while. Les mer

This is a great hotel! Packed with friendly service, comfortable rooms, and great amenities. The bar is staffed with some of the most welcoming people I have ever met and the restaurant is outstanding! A repeat visit is in order.

The hotel is a charming old historic building that has been a hotel since 1920s, but has been renovated to keep up with modern times - many noteworthy people have stayed here - Gregory Peck, Hopalong Cassidy, Lucille Ball, etc. Great pool my children loved. Enjoyed the beautiful hotel, the service and the convenience. Not a huge sprawling place, but packed with amenities inside in a close but not confined fashion. Area was superb with walking distance shops, eateries and sights.

This would be a solid 4, if I didn't have two bruised knees. My husband and I both founding it extremely cumbersome to move around the room comfortably. The room is cozy, but the ornate bed posts are very sneaky. We were treated very well. Restaurant personnel were very cheery and friendly plus good service. Breakfast was very satisfying. My husband and I were pleased.
