The Marmara Manhattan - New York

Støy fra 6 om morgenen til 11 på kvelden fra t-banen de bygger rett utenfor. Men New York er jo mye støy...Natten var stille. Sengene var så harde. Dbl sengen bare 120 bred. Men fantastisk å ha en hel leilighet i new york. Reiste med barn. Kjempegod komfort foruten de harde sengene. Moderne stil og nytt og fresht.

Jevnt over hyggelig opphold, fin leilighet med utsikt over området. God service, likevel føltes det som å ha en egen leilighet med god plass. Eneste minus er høyt støynivå. Selv om støyen preger New York generelt, var det særlig mye her pga anleggsarbeid på ny subway rett utenfor. Hver dag kom vi hjem til ren leilighet. Litt spartansk utstyrt på kjøkkenet. […] Det er litt reisetid med offentlig transport til downtown Manhattan, men dette er slik du velger å bo dersom du ønsker følelsen av å bo på Manhattan, og ikke bare være turist på hotellbesøk. The draw to this hotel was that it had a small kitchen and a living room area with a pull out sofa. The reservationist said we could get a cot for our second son, but didn't mention it was $100 per night. The hotel is located on a street where they are building a new subway..........the noise never stopped. Nothing was mentioned about this on line, […] or by the reservationist. No one at the front desk ever offered to do anything for us - move us to the other side of the hotel - move us to a room in an upper floor - not an apology at all. We spent a large sum of money for this hotel, and wouldn't recommend it....well, until 2015! It also does not have any kind of restaurant at all. Les mer

Overall a nice place with close access to public transit and friendly staff. I would return, but only after the 2nd Ave. subway construction is complete (loud construction noise from 7AM-10PM M-F, 8AM on Saturday).

Everything at the Marmara is perfect. The service is polite, respectful, and unobtrusive. The suites are beyond spacious and comfortable. It is clean and everything is of the best quality. The Marmara is my favorite hotel in the world.

Very good service: we arrived early and we were allowed to check right in. Very much appreciated after the long drive. All in all a very spacious suite-very convenient neighborhood with all one could want within a 5 minute walk. Would stay again!

If you have to be in this neighborhood it can't be beat. In fact even if you don't have to be local, you'll still save money taking cabs around town. A fully equipped kitchen compliments a very comfortable room....all new, all modern. A little noisy because of Second Avenue construction, but a minor issue.

First time at this hotel and found it to be a worth while experience. The hotel staff was courteous and professional. The rooms were the largest in NYC for the price. Bed was very comfortable. Balcony was a nice addition as well. Only downside is the location which is out of the way. If this is not an issue, I would return. John NY

There is a new subway station being build directly in front of hotel; so the sound was very loud early every morning until late in evening. Our room was on 5th floor, and this noise was big negative of hotel. Otherwise, decent, if not boring, hotel. The staff was pretty helpful, but the lobby has minimal guest services, just one person at the desk and […] a bell-boy. Our getting restaurant recommendations was not really possible, given neither seemed to have the expertise. The staff was great for bringing towels, or setting up sofa-bed in our suite. Overall, if not for the noise, this would be a decent (but not fancy) upper east side hotel. Room had a few flaws, but nothing major. Les mer

We chose this hotel for proximity to Mount Sinai Hospital, and wanting the extra space and facilities of a suite. The few other hotels nearby all had some negative reviews; the Marmara had none. We were very pleased to be upgraded on arrival to a larger suite, and allowed an extra hour to leave. Parking might have been a problem, but there's a garage […] on 94th St. with atypically courteous staff. The mess of the 2nd Avenue subway construction is notorious, but there was no nighttime noise from it. Everything in the suite was well thought-out and designed with more of a European than American style (especially liked the wallpaper). Les mer

For a NYC hotel, this room had a lot of space. The toiletries were a nice touch - a lot of places do not provide them any more. I was on the 10th floor and it was very quiet. The kitchen was clean and fully equipped. Two problems - no hotel parking, and the construction from the 2nd Avenue subway might be a problem for someone on a lower floor early […] in the morning. The Website looks more fancy than the actual hotel / apartment complex. The location itself is not so great and does not feel like New York ! I wouldn't stay here the next time at any cost.

A few blocks from the Metro, and rather tiny for a long stay (studi) but very pleasant staff, comfortable room, great to be able to cook/save $$. Having a place that I could bring my dog was awesome, and we will be back maybe in a 1 bedroom if we stay longer than a week. A definite keeper!

We picked this hotel because it was close to our son's apartment and about half the cost of other Manhattan hotels. We were very pleased. Take away the kitchenette and you would have a very nice hotel, with nice room, desk area with free wi-fi, lounge chair with ottoman, and comfortable bed. There's a large screen flat panel TV and a DVD player. It's […] a high-rise apartment hotel with only 5 rooms per floor. The kitchenette has refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, gas range, and an assortment of plates, glasses and flatware. There is also a coffeemaker and an initial supply of coffee and tea. The desk staff and doorman were very helpful. The maids were pleasant and thorough. The only negatives we encountered: --there always seemed to be a wait for an elevator, even at lobby level, because they stay on the last floor they serviced, rather than "homing" --heating and cooling is from individual through-the-wall units, that make noise when the A/C compressor is running --the kitchenettes have no pitchers or food storage containers of any kind. There is one ice cube tray, but no bin to empty cubes into if you want to save the current cubes and make more. --because the maids work in teams of two (it really speeds up bedmaking), each team works many floors. Ours didn't show up until late afternoon. This wasn't a problem for us, and I assume a call to the desk would have provided earlier service if needed. Les mer

A very good value for the money. The rooms were spacious and clean. To be recommended.

I was in one of the suites that hasn't been updated yet, but it was huge. They upgraded me into a higher floor unit and it was sunny and clean. The windows opened. I had a full kitchen and a balcony, even a desk, which was ideal, since I was there on business. The staff were relaxed, friendly and very helpful. Neat hotel, gives you the feeling like you're living in an NYC apartment as it comes with all of the amenities of home. Staff was great and very accomodating, recommended Nick's italian restaurant across the street which was excellent.

very attentive staff and nice room - with a washing machine and tumble dryer (which was a godsend being stuck due to the volcanic ash and having no clean clothes) location is a bit out on a limb

Positive: Spacious, comfortable, has kitchen and utensils, good location, great views from upper floors. Negative: noisy (street noise) compared to other Manhattan hotels I've stayed in. this was a great deal for the price. it helps if u don't have a car. parking in new york is tricky or expensive.

For what I paid this hotel had as much style and extras as any I've ever stayed at. Some noise before 11pm disappeared aftwards. I was on the 3rd floor and could hear people yelling on the street. It had a full kitchen with a fridge and all the plates, silverware and glasses. The neighboorhood had a grocery store across the street and plenty of restaurants. […] It was within walking distance of central park. The neighboor wasn't amazing with plenty of construction. Very spacious studio complete with kitchenette!Extremely clean. Even had a fax machine, and had wi-fi with an exclusive security key. There was a lot of construction on the street below so if you plan to nap during the day better wear earplugs. Hotellet har en super service. Du har fuldt køkken og hver dag kommer stuepigerne og ordner køkkenet så det ser fint ud. Der er pænt, store rum og med en god udsigt, hvis du kommer lidt op i den 31 etager høje bygning. Portneren holder døren for dig, bærer din baggage op og reception er venlige og imødekommende. Der er vaskekælder, hvor man for $1,5 […] kan vaske eller tørre. Bon hôtel dans l'ensemble un peu décroché du sud mais les accès sont rapide! Je le recommande

Super Lage - zwei Blöcke rüber und zwei Querstraßen hoch, dann ist man an der Subway. Taxis fahren ständig am Hotel vorbei. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Rezeption. Appartement wird jeden Tag gereinigt und jeden Tag frische Handtücher (auch wenn nicht gewünscht). Bei den Zimmern handelt es sich um ein riesiges Wohnzimmer, eine kleine Essecke, Küche, Flur, […] Bad (Dusche in der Wanne) und ein geräumiges Schlafzimmer. Schränke sind genügend vorhanden. Restaurant und Fitnessraum haben wir nicht genutzt. Optimale Ausgangslage, super schönes Appartement, nette Restaurants und Supermarkt in unmittelbarer Nähe und das für einen wirklich guten Preis. Im Moment ist eine U-Bahn Baustelle vor dem Hotel. Ist ziemlich laut.

12日間のNY滞在の後半1/2をここで過ごした。妻との二人旅だったこともあり、前半一週間がタイムズスクエアに近くの歴史あるが冷蔵庫も無いホテルだったので、キッチンがあるのがとても便利だった。清潔感ある室内は大満足だったし、通常のホテルのような行き届いたサービスらしいサービスが無いのも逆に快適だった。 ただ一つ不便を感じたのがブロードウェイに芝居を観に行く時。今回の目的の半分がそれだったので前半をTスクエア附近のホテルにしたのだが、このホテルに移ってからそれが不便だった。地下鉄駅までも少し歩くし、乗り換えもある。でも、これも日本に較べて安いし拾い易いNYのタクシーを利用すれば解決できることだ。 ちょっと高級なウィークリーマンション感覚で滞在するのが良いでしょう。 ２、３日の滞在にはお薦めしないが、一週間以上の滞在と目的次第では"Excellent […] ! Wir hatten ein super Angebot für das Marmara Manhattan und haben nicht viel erwartet, aber das Hotel war wirklich spitze. Etwas laut, aber das hat man wahrscheinlich immer in NY. Das Hotel liegt super zentral. wenige Meter zu 5th Avenue und Time Square. trotzdem ruhig. Die Zimmer sind zwar nicht sehr groß aber dafür sehr sauber. und der Preis stimmt. also absolut zu empfehlen!!!

as Marmara Hotel können wir bestens empfehlen. Alles stimmte, von der Sauberrkeit und Großzügigkeit der Zimmer bis zur Freundlichkeit des Personals, alles stimmte. Wir haben uns super gefühlt und würden gerne wieder kommen.
