Veldig stilig hotell, tøff arkitektonisk og pene rom. Små minus på rommet er en dusj som lekker slik at man må tørke en vannpytt etterpå, samt en lite kald minibar. Altså bare bagateller. Bra rengjøring. Grei service på hotellet, men intet mer enn hva vi ba om. Noen ganger er jo det helt ålreit. Frokosten er dyr og asketisk. Varmretter må man betale tillegg for. Men den er likevel å foretrekke fremfor de elendige restaurantene og frokostmenyene på la rambla (hold dere unna all mat på la rambla). Beliggenheten er upåklagelig. Kort oppsummert et hotell som absolutt er fire stjerner verdig. Stilige rom. Anbefales.

Jeg og min mann overnattet på Alexandra hotell i forbindelse med 4 dagers miniferie til Barcelona. Hotellet hadde ypperlig plassering i forhold til både serverdigheter, shopping og restauranter. Kan anbefale restaurant Cervecería Catalana som ligger 1 minutt fra hotellet (Mallorca 236), her har de nydelig tapas! Ellers var personalet strålende, både i resepsjonen og i baren. De kan mye om byen og snakker godt engelsk. Rommet er moderne inredet og vi fikk en liten balkong der vi kunne nyte morgen solen. Dusjen er herlig, med stor "overhead" dusjhode. Eneste minus må være at sengen var litt hard. Barcelona er en fantastisk by og et opphold på Hotel Alexandra kan absolutt anbefales som et godt utgangspunkt.

Kjempefin tur med 3 venninner. Sightseeingbuss, shopping, fortauskafeer, gode måltider og avslapning på hotellets tak og basseng. Fortauskafeene utenfor hotellet er også veldig ok med hyggelig betjening.

Gamlebyen i Barcelona, Ciutat Vella, omfatter både Barri Gòtic og den verdensberømte promenadegaten Las Ramblas. Førstnevnte er byens middelalderkjerne, en labyrint av stemningsfulle smågater som smyger seg rundt den imponerende gotiske katedralen. Vi er et eldre ektepar som var veldig fornøyd med hotellet. Frokosten var helt perfekt. Det eneste som var litt upraktisk var vasken på utsiden av WC/dusj, det ble litt vannsøl på gulvet i gangen.

Vi hadde kjempefine dager på Olivia Plaza, hvor vi feiret bryllaup til vår sønn og svigerdatter. Vi var der med en storfamilie med barn og voksne. Alle trivdes utmerket. Et fint sted å feire bryllaup. Servicen og maten var veldig bra.
Hotellet har en veldig sentral beliggenhet - perfekt for meg som rullestolbruker. Men handikaprommet vi fikk hadde ikke vindu, ikke stoler eller bord og ikke dør til baderommet. WC var svært lite, ca 0,5 kvm og nesten umulig å anvende for en rullestolbruker.

Hotellet ligger veldig sentralt i forhold til la Rambla og de viktigste handlegatene. Kort vei til gamlebyen og ca 10 minutter å gå til stranda. Veldig hyggelig betjening, god frokost og fin parkeringsplass rett under hotellet. Anbefales!

Beliggenheten i det som vel må kalles for Barcelonas sentrum, kan ingen ta fra dem. Interiøret bar klart preg av at "coolt" utseende var viktigere enn praktiske løsninger for do, dusj og vask. ok senger, men ikke mer enn det en bør vente seg av 4 stjerner. Hotellet ligger 10 min å gå fra stranda og 1 min fra Rambla Pablonou som er en grei gate. Likevel er det sentrum som fenger meg og da er La Rambla for langt unna, ca 10 EUR med taxi.

Ettersom jeg betalte via Hotels.com, så fikk jeg ikke noen ordentlig kvittering fra hotellet om oppholdet mitt. Det savner jeg. Da jeg skulle betale for maten, måtte jeg "mase" mye for å få betale i Euro i steden for i norske kroner. Hotellmaten var ikke noe særlig. Den har vært bedre ved tidligere besøk.

Meget fint hotell, utmerket service hele døgnet. Rent og ryddig over alt. Bakgården var utolig fin, en liten rolig plass, uten trafikkestøy. Nydelig sted for å ta et glass vin før en rusler ut for dagens middag. Spist frokosten her bare en dag, men angret nesten på at vi ikke gjorde det hver dag, den var veldig god og rikholdig. Hyggelig betjening og gode, stilige rom i moderne stil. Mer sentralt kan du ikke bo i Barcelona. Rett ved metro, flybuss, La Rambla og kort vei til gamlebyen. Godt isolerte vinduer, selv om det er mye trafikk på Placa Catalunya.

Godt hotell, bra beliggenhet, stille og rolig mot bakgård (ideelt). Dyr, men god frokost. Fikk to twin beds, som på grunn av glatt gulv ikke var mulig å holde sammen som en dobbeltseng.

Hotellet har svært praktisk beliggenhet. Vi hadde rom mot en stille bakgård/bakhage, noe som tok oss vekk fra den travle Plass Catalonya på forsiden. Den nære utsikten fra rommet vårt var et flatt tak på en gammel kirke. Her lå det mange fuglekadaver og annen søppel. Anbefaler at hotellet rensker opp her fra tid til annen. "Great location modern feel"
The hotel is located in a great place. Overall, the hotel was good, but there were a few odd things: the beds were loud - everytime you moved, the bed made sounds that woke you up! We had two bizarrely placed poles in our room which made it interesting to move around the room. The frosted glass split of the shower and the toilet was also interesting. […] I was staying with a friend - so that type of set up was a little odd. You could also see into the dressing area from the rest of the room which did not actually close off. The cleaning of the room left a little to be desired - they only did the bare minimum. We had walked on the beach the first day and we were still finding stand all over the floor days later even though our shoes and clothes had been brushed off. One other issue we had: in the morning at 9:30 am, the hotel staff turned up the intercom speakers of music - and the door was not sound proof enough to block it out. It was a little annoying on those mornings where we wanted to sleep in but couldn't tune out the music! Les mer

Hotel was very convenient. Close to everything. Airport shuttle was across the street from the hotel, Shopping meca surrounding the hotel. La Rambla was one block. Tour bus was a cross the street. Breakfast buffet was great. Weather was great. Highly recommend hotel. Front hotel door was alway opened for me by the hotel doorman. Conveniently located at the top of the Ramblas. Airport bus and subway stops quite close. Modern hotel, clean and efficient. Good front desk staff. Did not try the restaurant so no opinion. Would stay there again.

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights and would recommend it very highly. Its very clean room and good quick hotel staff service. The staff were friendly and helpful even with our cheeky 3 year old! Great location as the Barcelona aerobus services stops about 30metres away at Plaza Catalunya which is a cheap and quick way to get into town from the airport. […] Its close to the main tube stop, close to La Rambla street and main shopping area, which was good for us to go visit attractions. The rate may seem high but it was worth it, as the location was great and in the city centre, its got a good new trendy style room, general cleanliness and nice hotel staff. A few things that might be an issue are as follows: Our bedroom had electric blinds which make a bit of noise when operating up/down, which means you can hear your neighbouring rooms blinds. Not sure that the rooms are actually soundproof, as thats virtually impossible regardless of what the website says, trust me as i work in construction! Try to check the room layout as ours had a structural column almost in the middle, so ask them for a room floor layout plan to check. Despite being at the rear of the hotel we still heard noise (restaurant downstairs) when it got very loud, but i assume its better than staying in a room at the front of the hotel. The TV in the room was a bit small at probably about 24 inches, so it would have been nice to get a decent tv with decent channels for when you want to chill with the kids or watch a film in english language. We did not arrange for breakfast as part of the deal, so the one time we did, it was very expensive for the two of us. Overall its a very good hotel and we recommend it. Les mer

"Modern but poor function"
The rooms are modern but we found the design (particularly the bathroom) a bit irritating. Shower room enclosure was not sealed well resulting to water spillover to bathroom floor. Everyday we had to use our towels to soak up the water on the floor. Bedroom area was spacious and bed comfortable. Flat TV was quite small though (about 17") to allow one […] to read tickers on news channels from our bed. I've never made comments before on any of our hotel stays and we stayed in several ones on this last tour of Spain. But this time I felt I had to share because I didn't read any similar comments about Olivia's bathrooms in any of the previous comments. Les mer

These hotel rooms have wonderful floor to ceiling windows with fabulous views over Placa de Catalunya at the front or the Gothic Quarter at the back, with blackout blinds for a good nights sleep. BUT this hotel also has some awful interior rooms that are like dungeons with a tiny window looking into a corridor. The room is black as night during the […] day, but at night the lights from the corridor shine onto your pillow - no blinds in these rooms. Make sure you don't get one of these dreadful rooms. "Olivia Plaza in Barcelona - easy access"
Location is good- very near to La Rambla walking/shopping mall, popular stores and short walk to the airport bus stop. Design of hotel room is modern. Sliding door of toilet & shower is a bit troublesome to open/close. Good if electric kettle can be provided in the room especially during the winter season.

"Hotel Olivia Plaza, Barcelona. Central location"
We arrived from the airport by bus and the hotel was about a minutes walk from the bus stop. The hotel is very contemporary, almost to a point where it lacks a "cozy" feel. However, it was very clean and the staff were fantastic. Sadly no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.!! I had previously read this in a review so took my travel kettle (sad […] I know) The location is fantastic, I was a little worried when we first arrived that it would be noisy, however once inside the hotel you could not hear the outside street noise at all. There were 2 computers in the lounge area and internet use was free of charge. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was fine, it would have been nice to have a room with a bath. Breakfast not included in our room rate, we ate at various cafes nearby each morning as the hotel breakfast was expensive. I would use this hotel again but would perhaps upgrade to a room with a bath and a little more space. On the whole a good hotel. Les mer
"Overpriced"
I believe we paid far too much for this hotel considering what it offers. The rooms are tiny, there are no lamps for reading, etc. just overhead spot lights, no carpeting, no drawers to store clothing, or a place to put your bags. We stayed four nights, but only because we could not get out of our prepaid/no refund "great deal". Otherwise we would have […] checked into another hotel offering more for the money. "Very stylish - great location"
Hotel was really comfortable and stylish.. there was no wifi in the room but nothing else to fault. Location is perfect for wandering around Lisbon and the staff were really helpful with ideas and travel assistance. Bar is gorgeous as is the pool - although these are in the sister hotel next door. would definately recommend :)

The only draw back is the fact that there is not a wall and a door separating the bathroom from the room. The toilet door is a sliding frosted glass door. Otherwise the room is very comfortable and the people are extremely nice and helpful. The buffet breakfast is vast and delicious. The downtown location is perfect. Overall, I recommend the hotel.

Good location but would not stay at hotel again. In their effort to maximize utilization of limited space, room design was not to liking (bathroom sink felt like it was in the middle of the room). View from the room looked out into hallway, other room doors and elevator. Staff very indifferent.

The hotel is super close to the train station and is walking distance to all major attractions in Florence. The hotel was very modern and clean. Overall a good value.

Fantastic location. Hotel has a contemporary decor. The customer service is exellent, we complained about the blind not working, someone was sent up immediately to rectify it. The concierge / bellboy is great, he gave us advice on places to visit, etc... He tipped us on free admission to the Picasso Museum on Sundays from 3-8pm, that saved us 20 Euros. Only […] criticisms are that besides BBC and CNN, there are no other English speaking channels/ programmes. It was hilarious watching Mission Impossible 3 in Spanish. Also there is no tea / coffee making facilities in the room. Maybe that isn't a culture of the Spanish, although there seems to be lots of cafes / starbucks around Barcelona. If you are sharing the room with someone other than your partner, you may feel a little uneasy as the door to the toilet/shower is made of tainted glass and you could still see a silhouette of the person in the shower. I love the shower, great if you like power showers especially after a hot day out. Having wifi throughout the hotel is a real plus. You could check out reviews of places recommended to you prior to setting off. Also, if you would like to experience a Flamenco Dance, booking in advance (>24 hours) would save you a few euros compared to booking through the hotel last minute. A very bustling city. Las Ramblas although full of character, you have to be very cautious with pickpockets. The open top bus (Bus Tourista) which covers all the tourist destinations in Barcelona boards just across the road from the hotel in Plaza Catalunya. A piece of advice would be there before 10am, otherwise there would be a long queue to get up the bus. Also stop at Sagrada Familia first as there would be long queues too, especially to get up the lift to see the skyline view of Barcelona from the top of Sagrada Familia. Queues to Casa Batllo are shorter in comparison. Try to avoid the restaurants on Las ramblas. Paella aren't great. We enjoyed tapas in a little restaurant called Lonja De Tapa Les mer

"Great Location"
This was in a great location in Barcelona, especially if it is your first trip there. It is in the heart of the city and on the edge of a few sections... las ramblas, the gothic area and L'Eixample. So you could walk easily to many popular destinations.

I will absolutely stay here again when I go back to Barcelona! It has the best location and the hotel looks new and very well decorated! It is located steps away from the city tour bus main stop. Very convenient! Also next to "La Rambla"
