It is a small Hotel with really comfortable rooms, the Staff was amazing, with good location (it is possible go walking to any part of waikiki area) and the decoration is really nice. The only thing that is not 100% OK is the breakfast, they offer a continental breakfast but ti doesnt have to many options.....at the end we prefer have berakfast in other […] place. Les mer

This is a great place to stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was modern and well appointed (although lacking in-room tea/coffee facilities). Good continental breakfast included in very reasonable rate.

We had a really hard time finding a hotel in Honolulu...so many big chains on the main strip with mixed reviews. We thought about going with a big name to be more sure of a pleasant stay, but then we found Renew on Trip Advisor. This is the little hotel that could. One of the nicest and gracious staff that we have encountered. Polite, extremely friendly and helpful. Allowed us to borrow an umbrella for free during our rainy stay in Honolulu. Very comfortable zen room. Although on the bit small bathroom size counter space, it had a warm, fresh and modern look. Wonderful little continental breakfast with fruits […] and yogurts and small pastries. Superb location a block from Waikiki beach, stores and restaurants. 24 hour parking was pricey but affordable cost of hotel stay made up for it. We give this little gem a five star big thumbs up! Great hotel for the price. No pool (this may be a deal breaker for some) but only one block from the beach, so great location. Hotel provided beach towels and chairs. Very nice staff. Good size room with comfortable bed and shower. Hotel is modern and clean. We had a very good dinner at Uncle Bo's (15 miknute walk away from the ocean). Had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Renew in early November and LOVED IT! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, the continental breakfast was very good. The location was a stones throw away from the beach and the hotel provided complimentary towels and chairs. This boutique hotel is great for beach lovers as it's only a stone throw away. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. The morning truck and bus noise downstairs may be distracting if you plan to sleep in. It didn't really bother us. Other than this, the hotel's a gem!

Wonderful hotel and thoughtful staff. We stayed for our anniversary and only mentioned it to the receptionist when she noticed my birthday was a month ago and asked if our stay was related. We came back from our dinner and they had arranged for a bottle of wine and a lovely note. We just spent 5 days at the Hotel Renew and we loved it. We have stayed at many hotels in the honolulu area including 4 & 5 star properties and this is by far the best. And the reason it's the best is that the service was impeccable. From the moment we walked in we felt like they really cared about our stay. There was not one person who wasn't extremely […] friendly and helpful. The rooms were standard size for hotels like this but these were decorated very well. Everything flowed and had a place. This made for a very comfortable stay. The only downside I could see to this hotel is that at some points it can be a little loud from the vehicle noise outside but the good far outweighs this. The continental breakfast had excellent fresh fruit and pineapple orange juice. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and helpful overall. The hotel conveniently loans beach mats and towels. The room was spacious and comfortable with lighting controls for the entire room on remotes at the bedside and just inside the door. The hotel is […] smaller and feels more relaxing as opposed to the larger hotels nearby which always seem busy and crowded. The walk to Waikiki beach is a quick 5 minutes. Located on the eastern edge of Waikiki beach, you are within easy walking distance to all the restaurants and shopping, but not right in the middle of it all. This was perfect for us as we did not want our hotel located above a mall or shopping center. We highly recommend! Les mer

If you are not wanting to spend a ridiculous amount of money but want a well located Hotel with with very helpful staff I do not believe that you could do much better than this Hotel. My room was clean, very comfortable bed, flat screen TV, excellent air conditioning,and I very much appreciated the complimentary continental breakfast and the complimentary […] WiFi Internet for researching my travel plans whilst I was in Honolulu. We spent five nights at Hotel Renew in July 2011 and really enjoyed our stay. From the moment we arrived, weary from a 20 hour journey from the UK, the staff put us at our ease and were very helpful. The hotel is modern and well maintained and only one block from Waikiki beach. Rooms, although not huge are very comfortable. One word of warning, our […] room faced the road to the rear of the hotel which made it noisy first thing in the morning with service vehicles making deliveries etc. Avoid if you can or pack earplugs. This is an older hotel just off Kalakaua that has been updated with a Zen feel. The bed was comfortable and all the furnishings and fittings were modern. The service was excellent. Greeted with pineapple juice and a chilled washcloth at check in. My bag was taken up and I was shown the room's amenities and how the lighting was controlled. Excellent staff, very helpful and cordial Breakfast is OK, but lacks warm options such as eggs, bacon etc, but is great, notably considering most hotel rates do not include breakfast. As everybody is jetlagged, there is a queue at 7am, but when I went down after 7.30 it was OK Rooms were recently refurbished and are very nice indeed. Aircon was noisy […] and didn't cope with the hottest days. On the departure day we were offered a room to freshen up before our flight, which was great. parking is expesnive at USD25 per day, but you get a lot of comfort and practicality. My husband and I stayed here after checking out of the Waikiki Marriott across the street. (When the Company pays that's where I stay!). My husband was so upset they didn't have a pool we almost canceled the reservation and went back to the Marriott (for quite a bit more $). He got over it and the stay was enjoyable. The hotel has been beautifully remodeled for a boutique feel, and the continental breakfast was just enough to get us through to lunch. Although our room's air conditioning broke halfway through our stay they fixed it the very next morning nad offered us another room to sleep in. Two friends and I stayed at Hotel Renew in an Ocean View Room with Two Doubles for a short stop in Honolulu. Upon our arrival we were greeted with fresh pineapple juice and cool towels. Everyone at the front desk was more than helpful and so nice and accommodating. Parking is valet only, which cost around $25 a day, but made things really easy since […] there was not much parking available on the street. We were surprisingly upgraded to an ocean view room on the 9th floor. The room had a wonderful view! Furnishings were modern and the room was fairly small, but made good use of space. There were cubbies under the bed so that you could store luggage, a bench in the entry way with dresser drawers, and a large ledge under the panoramic window where you could store things as well. I liked that there was a trash can for trash and a trash can for recyclable items. Very large flat screen TV on the wall, which was almost too big for the room. The only complaint that I would have about the room is that it is kind of hard to see in the room at night, even with the lights on bright. Beds were very comfortable, furnished with nice white linens and feather blankets. Feather blankets did get quite warm half way thru the night though! Breakfast was small, but good. Cereal, yogurt, pastries, toast, fruit, coffee, juice, etc. The hotel had beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, etc that could be checked out and taken to the beach. Waikiki Beach, shopping, and restaurants were within walking distance from the hotel. Check out was at noon and our flights home were not until 10 pm, but we wanted to get some beach time in before leaving the island. The front desk let us know that they would hold our bags while we were at the beach and that they have a courtesy room where guests can shower before leaving (even though we had checked out that morning!). Check in was very friendly, were greeted with fresh juice, and a warm moist facecloth to freshen up on the spot. Staff were helpful and friendly with info on restaurants, and attractions. Room was clean and well kept, though not large. Complimentary Continental breakfast was very good, great coffee, fresh fruits, juices and pastries. The Hotel Renew belongs firmly in the category of European boutique hotels. Just a half a block from Waikiki Beach and the beachwalk shopping, everything we needed was steps away. The hotel itself is tastefully decorated and the staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful. This is a very nice small hotel. The service is great. There is a good breakfast served in the lobby every morning. Delicious fruit, pastries etc. The room we had was on 3rd floor and looked out on an alleyway, so we had no view and it was a bit noisy in the morning. The only possible drawback is the lack of aswimming pool, but the hotel is a half block from the beach and they prvide towels, etc.

I have stayed at the Hotel Renew for business a couple times now. The location is fantastic, although realize that it is noisey - I always travel with ear plugs - from the street noise surrounding Waikiki area. The staff here have always been very friendly. This last stay, the AC was not working when I checked in, but they sent someone up immediately […] and fixed it in 2 minutes. Internet is free, and there is a continental breakfast also included. Parking is just around the corner in the Banyan for $10/day. Rooms are clean and nicely updated. Nothing fancy, but works great for business and because of the location. Les mer

This hotel has contemporary decor, chic rooms. The hotel has a small nook which serves as a bar at night and breakfast counter during the morning. Great place for people NOT wanting the "all inclusive" vibe of some of the other hotels in the neighborhood. All the staff is extremely courteous, including the valet and the doorman. Front desk staff welcomes […] you with a nice fresh pineapple juice. Valet was also courteous in giving direction pointers and tips on avoiding traffic. Its about 50 steps away from the Duke statue, making it a convenient location to go to the main Waikiki strip. Make sure you get rooms on the higher stories, that way you can leave the curtains and windows open, if needed ( generally required in Hawaii for drying beach clothes in the room). Overnight parking is available at the standard of Waikiki. Will definitely go again. Les mer

I recently stayed at Hotel Renew and was very impressed. The hotel is very clean and in good condition. The hotel has a nice location close to Waikiki near Diamond Head - easy enough to walk to the western side of Waikiki or the community college farmer's market. Hotel Renew is an older hotel that has been updated. There are a couple of issues because of that, but overall, it was a nice choice. It's a smaller hotel, in a convenient location a block from the beach. It's not ocean view (although if you are lucky enough to get a balcony, you can see the ocean from there). The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. […] I only had 2 real issues. First was the noise from the street. I was on the 8th floor, and it was still pretty loud. Second was the air conditioning. As I said, it was an older building, and the rooms were small. The A/C unit was loud and freezing cold when it was on, but the room was ridiculously hot with it off. I didn't say something to the front desk, because I figured it wasn't something they could do something about, but maybe I should have. The service at the hotel was wonderful. The valet was attentive, and front desk always helpful. Overall, I was pleased with the choice, especially for the price. Les mer

Good location. A little hard to find hotel but it is very convenient to the beach, zoo, and Diamond Head.

Ok, so I had read some reviews of people complaining about the distance from the beach. Good god people, it's about 60 yards to the beach. The hotel is wonderful, it's small, meaning you check in quickly, don't have to worry about there being 100 people ahead of you for breakfast in the morning. Also there are always towels, beach mats, boogie boards […] etc when you need them. It's a very very nice hotel. The rooms are spotless, with a wonderful lighting system that allows you to control the brightness of the lights in all rooms from multiple places, the best being next to the bed. The room has a double blind system to keep out the sun and the heat during the day or in the morning if you want to sleep. There was a little noise in the alley each morning (we had a north east facing room on the 8th floor) from the rubbish lorry, but that's small beans. A pair of ear plugs on the first night sorted that. We didn't park so can't comment on that. Breakfast was great, cereal, granola, pineapple, watermelon, mango, muffins, tea, coffee, toast, etc, continental. There was always a space to sit and always enough food to go around, and was wonderfully prepared by the staff. It was so nice to be in a non crazy hotel. We walked through many more on Waikiki to see what they were like and it was always like a Subway station at all times of the day. If you want peace and quiet then this is the place to go. We got a Roberts of Hawaii bus from the airport, it costs, $9 each and took about 25 mins at 10:30pm at night. Luckily Hotel Renew is it's first stop, I suggest taking this bus, it's air conditioned, fast, and has nice hawaiian music for the duration of the trip. The beach is less than 60 yards from the front door of the hotel. Seriously. It's out the door, about 90 steps and you're there. We snorkeled in the lagoon part across from the hotel on the second morning, right by the wave breaking wall and saw tons of fish, I'm serious, it's a great place to snorkel. We loved it. W Les mer

This hotel was amazing! The staff were wonderful and fixed the smoke detector within minutes of its battery going low. The valet service, although expensive, was well worth it and our car always beat us to the curb (we only lived on the second floor!). Although it was a pain to get to because of traffic on H-1 sometimes, it's only a block from the beach! […] Really, the only qualm I have is the internet was slow and a little unreliable. There is really nothing I can say about my stay, other than it was perfect. From the beginning to the end the staff made the experience incredible. From the juice and towel at check-in to the availability of a hospitality room for a quick shower before our late flight out after having checked out. I HIGHLY recommend attending the manager's reception […] and hanging at the tiny bar with Chris socializing with other guests. That was in fact one of the best parts of the trip and MADE our experience. THANKS CHRIS! Other than that, the hotel is located perfectly situated at the edge of bustling Waikiki and just steps from the beach. Avoiding traffic while touring the island was easy as getting in and out was no issue being on that end of town. While parking is available on-site, you can score really AWESOME metered parking down the street toward the park and Aquarium. Here the meters are 4 hours, starting at 10am (allowing you to sleep in, as others are 7am), and free after 6pm with plenty of spots to go around. It was just a short walk to/from the hotel. We parked there the entire trip and saved a small fortune on parking! Our room was sizable and always clean and comfortable. The housekeeping staff was efficient, courteous, and nearly invisible. Unlike most hotels, you rarely saw/heard them, but upon returning you felt the calming effect of their straightening the room. Other than the early sounds of recycling bottles(which I fully respect/accept) the atmosphere was completely relaxing. The decor, lighting, and audio video (we own an A/V company and had a projector in our room - how cool!) offered unique touches that personalized the place. The hotel was a calm oasis in a bustling touristy funland - and I will never stay anywhere else when visiting Honolulu. For a good time, I'd advise the same! THANKS HOTEL RENEW! Les mer

The hotel was great, so nice and clean and great valet service. Valet is $20 per 24hours and you can take it in and out as much as you want. We had an ocean view with a king bed. I love how the room lighting is remote controlled with a controller on the side of the bed. We stayed 9th floor which is the top of this hotel. It was awesome to see the ocean from the hotel room. It was nice view for the price.

I booked the Hotel Renew after reading reviews here and on tripadvisor.com (where there is some suspicion that reviews have been padded to favor the hotel). Thus I was watching carefully from the moment my husband and I walked in for our one-night stay. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful desk person, who gave us fresh pineapple juice and […] cool lemon-scented towels while we checked in. The decor of the hotel -- all contrasting dark wood and white laminate finishes -- reminded both of us of another favorite hotel, the Hudson in NYC. Both had a similar designer feel, clean lines, and felt like a refreshing place to retreat after a day out and about. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, although allergy sufferers should know it was all feathers and down -- feather bed on top of the mattress, down comforter, feather and down pillows. It was like sleeping in a cloud, provided it doesn't make you sneeze all night. The only ways in which I marked down this fabulous hotel were room comfort, which I knocked down a notch because our AC kicked off in the middle of the night (the hotel probably pipes in the cool outside air, but with the big down comforter on the bed, it was still pretty warm) and the neighborhood. Waikiki may be great if you're a power Beverly Hills shopper, but my hubby and I were grateful we'd only scheduled one night there. The beach is beautiful, but the crowds are insane. If Waikiki is your thing, I highly recommend this hotel. The room is comfortable, the staff is unmatched in terms of friendliness and helpfulness, and you just breathe a sigh of relaxation when you walk in the door. Ahhhhhhhh! Les mer
