Desert Rose Resort - Las Vegas

We chose this hotel because of all the positive reviews about it. Out visit there even exceeded our expectations. Our check-in was handled in a very professional and friendly way by Greg. Whenever we had an enquiry about Las Vegas, Greg or any of the other staff on duty offered very kind assistance. The room was found to be very clean, tidy and fresh […] smelling. We were particularly impressed with its size. We booked a two bedroom unit as our children accompanied us, and were pleased to find that each bedroom had a en-suite bathroom. It also had a comfortable size lounge and a kitchen fully stocked with crockery and utensils. We enjoyed the continental breakfast as well as the cocktail reception that was offered every evening between 5 – 7 pm where complimentary snacks and drinks were provided. The hotel has a well maintained heated swimming pool and surrounding gardens. We were also impressed with the fast maintenance response experienced. Quite late one evening the one toilet overflowed. Once we reported it to reception, the maintenance service arrived within a few minutes and fixed the problem. Immediately after they had left, house keeping turned up to clean up the bathroom. We also found the complimentary internet service very efficient. With The Desert Rose being only one block away from Las Vegas Boulevard (the strip) we found it to be the ideal hotel if you want to experience all the happenings at Las Vegas but still spend quiet evenings back at the hotel. Past reviews covered this place well. A good, complimentary breakfast, free drinks with chips/salsa early evening and a good location if you don't mind walking a bit to strip casino/hotels. Staff was friendly & helpful. Agood place to stay a few days with a decent kitchen.

If you´re looking for a great location for a very afordabale price, this is the right choice. On my next stay in Las Vegas will return.

This was a great hotel at a great price - the only down side was the madness at breakfast. The food was fine once you could get to it and then there was nowhere to sit to eat it! If this could be addressed I would be certain to recommend it to anyone

Happy with our stay, rooms clean and comfortable and only short walk to strip, staff friendly and accomodating.

I loved it here. It is the perfect place for families, as you can see Vegas, but leave the crowds and casinos behind at night. It is a 5 minute walk to the MGM lobby. The resort is clean and well run. We had a two bedroom suite, and it easily met the needs of our family. I liked having Starbucks coffee in the lobby all the time, and the breakfast included […] eggs and sausage which was nice. I would recommend this resort to my friends and family. Les mer

Good and spatious 1 bedroom suite with fully equiped kitchen. The queue for breakfast in the morning was too long and there is not enough space for to eat once food is collected. We decided to have breakfast elswhere.

stayed here for 5 nights. Absolute bargin. The place needs a refresh, but wow, it is cheap and very convenient to the south end of the strip. The brekfast is a mess. Dont use it unless you have to. Its like some people think it will be the last meal! If you are going use the free breakfast, dont stack your plates so high it falls off the plate and only […] get as much as you will eat. You can allways go back. Just greedy! I would rather they charge a couple of $ and get better food and a better table service or a better organised layout. One day my wife waited 30 minutes in a que to get some nasty stuff! Aside from the breakfast, it is ok and if you have kids like me , it is good as you get your own bedroom and the rooms are large.2 bedrooms as well and 2 bathrooms.TVs could use an update- again , maybe being fussy! The hotel is a block off the strip. This hotel is very family friendly. There is a free breakfast every morning. Get there early because it gets crowded. The rooms were nice sized and the was even a walk in closet.

It was more than what I expected. the rrooms are very clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. It looks like they were formarly apartments. The staff was extremely hospitable and always available. Breakfast was superb. Only one block away from thr the strip. I would definitely stay here next time and visit Las Vegas! I higly recommend it!!

Don't feel bad if you must budget, Desert Rose Resort will take care of you; your breakfast and start up drinks at the Manager's Reception. You'll be able to spend more on your visit to LV. Desk refer our room, better then previous stay. Well stay again for next WNFR. No casino hotels for me.

One of the best hotel/resort I have ever stayed. Will recommend it to family and friends visting Las Vegas.

It is located just off the Las Vegas Boulevard, and outdoor parking, many entrances, motel style. Rooms view parking or courtyard. Kitchen has everything one would need including utensils and place settings for 6 people. Comfortable clean queen sized bed and pillows. Two TV's in the one bedroom suite, no dvd player. In suite safe with electronic lock […] not large enough for most laptops. Great choice for comfortable quiet stay, yet close enough to the strip and casinos, withing walking distance. They allow luggage to be kept in a locked area free of charge for a week, to be picked up when returning from another trip. Very pleasant front desk staff. WiFi speed decent, complimentary. Les mer

Great family hotel!!!! I have one issue with the hotel...the free complimentary breakfast could have had a better selection of food:(

this was a great place off the strip. It was 2 blocks off the end of the strip and the room was fantastic for the price. A full kitchen and separate bedroom was part of our rooms. All in all, very happy with the service,location and comfort of the resort.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Desert Rose. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We could eat out or in as we chose to. The location was a short walking distance to the strip near MGM. The kitchen was thoroughly stocked with just about anything you would need. The pool area was clean and the pool was warm. Excellent value and good location. The breakfast was particularly welcomed and enjoyable. A great place to stay.

Excellent stay for four days in Vegas with friends, the suite was very spacious and well equipped. Although the room was not brand new it was very comfortable. TV in every room, full kitchen and a balcony for early morning coffee was very nice. Pool area and breakfast was great even though I missed fresh vegetables and cheese. The Desert Rose was everything we were looking for AND more. Previously, we had stayed in resorts on the Strip, so we wanted to try something different. We were treated well by very friendly staff. It was an easy walk to the MGM Grand where we attended the Eagles concert. We were also able to walk to the Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur and New York New […] York with no problem. The rooms are large with a very comfortable bed in the separate bedroom! The large fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave in the kitchen area were handy. We also enjoyed sitting on our own balcony in the sunshine! The added bonus was the breakfast buffet with Starbuck's coffee. It was simple AND ample! We certainly don't mind getting our morning coffee, eggs, sausage, toast, yogurt and fruit for free! I definitely recommend it for anyone who is looking to save money, and doesn't mind walking 10 to 15 minutes to the Strip. Another bonus: taxi from airport to resort was $25 and taxi from resort to airport was $9. We consider these good prices. The Desert Rose is located quite close to the airport, but we very seldom heard the planes. Les mer

When you want to stay in a quiet place outside the strip, this is a good choice. I wish they only had a bigger place to breakfast. It is always crowded.

The Desert Rose proved to be a very satisfactory hotel for the three nights I stayed. Well placed - 10 minute walk to monorail station in MGM. Resort not exactly in first flush of youth, but clean and comfortable. Pool not very big but plenty of space during my visit. 'Free' breakfast appreciated although I agree with others that it gets a bit crowded […] due to limited space. But you can always take it back to your room. No restaurant or bar on site is a bit of a disadvantage, but Hooter hotel is very close so can use theirs. Les mer

I was down there with my family for a business conference and an extended stay afterwards. I read all the negative reviews about credit card identity theft issues. I paid with Hotels.com and when arriving I gave them a $100 dollar deposit instead of my credit card. There was no issue with this at all. The hotel was clean and located very close to the […] strip. Nice breakfast and pool and hottub were great. Only hotel negative was walls to outside a little thin so when someone walks by in the middle of the night you can hear them talking. Great hotel within walking distance to all the site on the Strip. Clean, friendly and a good solid breakfast provided. Would highly recommend.

If your not after all the gaming asociated with the major casinos and just want a pleasant place to stay near the strip this is the place.

This is our second time staying at the Desert Rose and it was excellent 4 day stay. We are three families getting together and they accomodated us with rooms close together. The furnishing are a little shop worn compared to our last stay - but nothing really off putting. The staff is super friendly and unfailingly polite. Stayed for 3 days...and it was wonderful! Staff was very nice and helpful! If i come back to Vegas I would stay here without a doubt.

The overall resort is good and we have enjoyed our stay though it was not as closed to the main strip as advertised. However, the management seriously need to sort out the breakfast area because the seats allocated is insufficient for the no of guests and you can see guests having to bring the food back to the rooms. We had to do this as well and not […] a good experience especially when we have to stay almost at the end of the block. Secondly the juices provided are horrible and food refilling is very slow. Right behind the Topicanna, this hotel is in an ideal location esp if you have a card. We loved the breakfast, the grounds, the room set up, everything.

Well Positioned just off the strip, 6 minutes from the MGM where you can get the monorail. Very friendly helpful staff and we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast is self serve using polystyrene plates includes serial and hot food all very acceptable. The rooms provide full cooking facilities if you want to avoid those huge size meals they serve in the US.

A quiet oasis that was a 5min walk to the Strip. After a long day at the smokey and neonlight-blasting Strip, we needed a peaceful and affordable place to rest our senses - no gambling, no smoke. Desert Rose Resort fit the bill and we had a pleasant 4-night stay at the property. Greg at reception was very warm and helpful during our check-in. The breakfast […] was chaotic though, so we had our morning fill elsewhere, or you can cook up something in the attached full-suite kitchen. We also had a slight problem one day with the lock but it was fixed quickly by the technician. Parking is free for hotel guests and the weekday beer/wine evenings at the lobby was a welcome touch. Was just passing through for a flight connection, so wanted somewhere cheap but convenient to take a look at what vegas had to offer. The hotel was great,friendly staff, close to the airport, huge room and kitchen/lounge, only downside was it smelt a bit like a smoking room. Would recommend highly, very good value.

Very nice hotel for a family wanting a nice hotel close to the strip (walkable). I would recommend upgrading TV's. But a nice stay

Nice room, clean, lots of space and quiet. Family friendly. Near the strip. We enjoyed the fact that there are no slots in the Hotel. Nice pool but a bit crowded during peak hours. Breakfast is ok but very packed, needs improvement. Would stay again.

Extremely convenient as far as location-accomodations were super, roomy and well kept' Coctail reception left a bit to be desired, overall a good experience.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Desert Rose, the room was fabulous, the staff very friendly and helpfull and the breakfast more than adequate.

We had a really great experience in this hotel. The staff were very cheerful and helpful. It was lovely to come home to peace and quiet after the hectic pace on "the strip". The breakfast is adequate, not wonderful and there weren't enough tables for all the guests to sit and eat but other than that I couldn't fault it.
