Nice location, clean rooms, but old showers. Nice view but slow service in the dinning room. Nice pool, with great view, but no sun at all, the building shadow is always blocking the sun! Very disappointing!

Sorry, but this expensive hotel was large and everything, but i felt like i was in some old college dorm . Maybe they had better rooms but i was only there for one night , so they probably gave me a crappy one. I stayed in the Capilla for 4 nights before that and decided to stay another night but they were booked. And that was a great, clean, updated […] hotel. So i booked this one for the night thinking i was stepping it up the last night, lol, and it was a far step down. Only good thing is they had a pool , which was freezing, but better than the grimy ocean. Les mer

Excellent staff, very accomodating. A bit expensive for what you get but a good option if you don't have the time or simply don't want to spend your time looking for a hotel.

Staff was outstanding in every moment....they do not run for you... they fly for you! Nevertheless, the hotel needs to refurbish/renovate some areas and change the equipment in the gym, the rest is very good. Security is a key issue and works very good

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the beach AND the historical walled city of Cartagena. The hotel is very nice. Is a combination of modern/colonial style. The rooms where very nice and clean. Nice furniture/ air conditioning. The only thing we didn't like was the bathroom, it needs to be remodelated. The shower didn't worked well. It was clean but it seems old. The breakfast buffet was excellent, a lot of food! and a variety of options, […] from fruits/cereal to eggs, Pankaces, and local cuisine like "empanadas" and "calentados". All the staff is very friendly. The pool are is small and very peacefull. Great place to take a little bit of sun and relax. We would rate this hotel as a 4 star hotel. Les mer

The hotel is coveniently located and just across from the beach. The hotel is currently under renovation. The guest rooms were clean but the bath/ shower area needs updating. The handle broke in the shower on the last day. Overal a good hotel and I would stay there again.

W came for only for the weekend - 1 night from Bogota where we work. we didn't have any expectation and we must say that this hotel suited us very much. No more, no less. Everything went fine and worked well. The room was clean, all our request hes been fulfilled.

The site's pictures point to a far more good looking property than actually exists. The hotel is actually located on a very busy street and the beach is not all that nice (crowded, more than a little dirty, and generally unkempt). The staff, while very cordial, were not exactly on top of their game. I requested two wake up calls, fifteen minutes apart. […] Never got one. Thank goodness I was so concerned for being late that I woke up before I really needed them. The hotel is somewhat dated (1980s look) and really does not offer much more than a plae to sleep. The hotel is pretty good, the breakfast is also pretty good, the hotel staff is very good. Great support from the Business Center with a charger for my blackberry. The check-out time is an opportunity area. The tile of rooms floor could be nicer.

I have family in Cartagena but sometimes you just want to get away. I stayed one night in this hotel and it was fantastic. From the bellmen waitting at the door to take your luggage to the staff in the lobby. The pool is on the 5th floor high enough to have a great view of the beach. Good experience staying at this hotel with my familiy. I got an upgrade to a better room for a fair rate and easily managed by staff at my arrival. I just didn't like the fact of not beig able to properly manage room temperature with the AC equipment, it was eitrher too cold when the AC was on or to warm when it was off - too difficult to graduate the […] temperature at a comnfortable level. Estuvimos 4 noches en el hotel. La comida nos pareció buena, aunque no excelente. Es un hotel que puede mejorar muchos sus habitaciones (en la nuestra no podíamos abrir las ventanas). Tuvimos un incidente médico y se portaron de maravilla.

This hotel is the perfect location for buisiness meetings, unfortunately the rooms are not quite good as the conference rooms. Furniture were old and cleaning was not perfect.

Todas las personas en el hotel muy amables, la ubicación es muy buena, todo queda cerca, lo más distante es ir a la ciudad amurallada a sólo cinco minutos. Hace falta un poco de mantenimiento a la habitación, pero para mi gusto todo estuvo muy bien.

Tenga mucho cuidado en elegir el hotel en Cartagena, nosotros dedicamos varios días a buscar y supuestamente el Almirante era la mejor opción. Los comentarios de otros huéspedes tienden a ser optimistas para lo que en realidad uno se encuentra, en primer lugar un hotel que te hace sentir claustrofóbico ya que se puede tocar el techo de cada nivel con […] la mano, huele mal, no tiene ninguna ventilación (refrigeración si tiene), y el nivel de limpieza deja mucho que desear ya que las almohadas y cobertores huelen mal, las toallas de muy mala calidad. El ruido es un problema hasta las 2am. La vista al mar queda obstaculizada por la suciedad extrema acumulada en sus ventanas desde hace años, el hotel lo justifica por culpa de "la deliciosa brisa de abril", si les pregunta en junio dirán "la deliciosa brisa de junio". Por otro lado su cercanía con la playa no es una ventaja, porque es otra gran decepción, es una playa súper contaminada y en malas condiciones, tanto el mar como la playa son oscuras de tanta suciedad y por la sedimentación del río magdalena desde unas obras que se hicieron mal hace 20 años. Cartagena no es un destino de playa, aun así su ciudad amurallada es un tesoro histórico, así que si les interesa visitar una ciudad con un pasado histórico hospédense en un hotel en la ciudad antigua o ciudad amurallada, no les prometo que las condiciones sean buenas pero al menos la ubicación lo es. Si están buscando un destino de playa mejor búsquense otro lugar. Les mer

Desafortunadamente la habitacion en la que me hospedaron fue ineficiente. Por el precio que pague por dia la recamara deberia haber sido mas grande, las facilidades del cuarto no deberian haber tenido defectos (el mayor problema aqui era que la llave de la ducha no cerraba), no tenia suficientes toallas, y la vista (por la acual pague mas) deberia de […] haber sido hacia el mar completo. Lo positivo que puedo decir es que, aunque nunca me ofrecieron otra habitacion despues de hacerles saber las dificultades que se presentaron, la ambilidad de los empleados del hotel fue excepticional. Hotel Almirante er et pæn hotel og hvis man sikrer sig et værelse højt oppe (jeg var på den 19.) er udsigten fenominal. Man skal som altid passe på med at købe ting i hotellet, de tager 2 til 3 overpris især minibaren. Service niveauet er højt men hvis du som mig ikke har brug for service er det ret irriterende.

Está muy bien ubicado, el hotel es un cinco estrellas, no demasiado lujoso pero muy bien puesto, muy cómodo y con todas las instalaciones necesarias para unas vacaciones. La atención del personal es excelente y resuelven todo pedido muy rápidamente. El desayuno es muy completo

La ubicación es buena, cerca de las principales atracciones de la cuidad y junto a la playa. Las instalaciones comodas y la comida de muy buena calidad.

this hotel was advertising itself as five star and, in reality, it is an average 4 star! Despite having the location and the amenities I felt that, from my experience of staying it top hotels, throughout the world, it was definitely apparent to me that it were definitely not 5 star! I have nothing to complain about as far as the staff were concerned […] but, the the services provided by the hotel were limited - for example, no room service after a certain time, limited bar service and the decoration in the rooms was .... Sin palabras, los comentarios sobre el hotel que previamente antes del viaje observe se quedan cortos para describir la experiencia tan agradable que tuvo mi familia en el Hotel Almirante, todos los detalles fueron excelentes, la habitación, el desayuno, la atención por parte del personal del hotel. 100% recomendado y deseo regresar a este hotel.
