A place can be perfect, but if the greeting is bad ... So, this place had a great reception. He was friendly and had a great smile. We only stayed one night for a local wedding and this place was perfect for that. The book made up for area attractions was very helpful with finding dinner. There was some constuction going on, but we never noticed.

You can't beat the location and it's comfortable and clean . Breakfast is included .There's only one problem at present- the motel is undergoing a massive renovation that kicks in about 9 in the morning and keeps going until early evening.It's noisy and inconvenient.The date of this review is May 23 2013.

It's always hard to tell what a place will be like from the internet, but this was surprisingly better than expected. Very clean, staff very friendly & helpful and the free breakfast was a bonus. Great location for visiting the FDR sites and Vanderbilt Mansion. The only downfall was it is a 2 story hotel and there is no elevator. I stayed a night visiting my sister who stays in the area, and it was very clean. The staff was very polite and helpful. We had everything we needed and I was very pleased about the stay. Easy to find and easily accessible to the surrounding area.

My stay was rather uncomfortable. The bed was really hard and the pillows were extremely small and the rooms were smelly.

Beds are hard. Heat went from one extreme to the other. It was hard to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. The free breakfast is good. Kids enjoyed making there own waffles.

Everything was very clean people very freindly. Did not like snack machine was empty. pop machine was empty. Exercise room was inconvenient having to get key to use.

It was pleasant, accommodating , clean , just my 1st night I was not able to sleep well due to some intermittent noise in the heating system, like a squeak every 3-5 minutes or so. THe next day I got used to that. I had to turn the heating on at Pm and and off for the night , otherwise the room would get overheated just on the lowest settings and by […] the morning of it was cold again, when the heat was off. The hotel sign in clerk was absolutely fabulous...Brando.nHe was very helpful because I was extremely tired and he offered to bring in my bags and was there when I opened my car trunk..very very helpful also I needed some help with the computer....doneI needed help with a map to get to the taconic parkway...doneI was very impressed with the service.The […] breakfast was great. We spent two nights at the Quality Inn Hyde Park, and for the most part we were pleased with our stay. As other reviewers have pointed out, it's tough to find a good hotel in the Hyde Park area, and this one was relatively reasonably priced. The location is unbeatable - the area's main attractions (FDR House, Vanderbilt Mansion, Culinary Institute of […] America, Val-Kill Cottage) are all located off of the same road as the hotel within easy driving distance. The room was very clean, and it's nice that the hotel provides a full breakfast (eggs, a breakfast meat, waffles, plus the usual continental breakfast fare). The negatives were that the bed was not very comfortable and the toilet had a habit of running for a very LONG time after you flushed it. Unfortunately, the toilet was also extremely loud when flushed, so this was more than a minor annoyance. Overall, however, the hotel is fine for a brief stay, especially if you're traveling on a tight budget. Les mer

Staff not friendly. Dirty towels from previous guest still in room. No elevator! Had to carry our heavy bags upstairs. Just not a good experience

Stay was overall great. Was a late check in and needed extra towels and blankets. Check in staff stated was in the dryer and would be up shortly, waited quite a while and when called again was different staff that was never told we needed anything. Otherwise great stay.

Stayed in room to shower and sleep. Main purpose was to visit CIA which is a few miles away. Route 9 can be tricky when leaving the hotel due to no traffic signal, left turns, and traffic.

I have to say that I was a bit disapponted, especially given the price was significantly higher than a place directly across the street ((where my brother had stayed). Although both places were dated, I could not appreciate the difference in pricing and I doubt I wil encourage people to choose this hotel if in the area. I had to ask for another room […] when the one I'd been assigned smelled mildewy, musty. Thankfully, it was a weekday evening, so they re-assigned a room with an apology and the second room was fine. Unfortunately, I had issues with my room key card not working properly. Had to have it "fixed" on two occasions. One employee even acknowleged that they seem to have trouble with the key card for that room in particular---so seemed like a long standing issue that is not being addressed. The continental breakfast was quite nice, offering a nice variety of choices. Staff were on top of keeping the breakfast area well-stocked thoughout the 6-10 AM timeframe it was available. Les mer

Not very satisfied. The room was not clean, and when I complained to management about it I was told they could give me another room on a different floor, and that was that. I did appreciate the offer but I did not want to be on the second floor. I would have appreciated a clean room. I cannot say the manager was nice. It's not a really nice hotel, but the room was clean. The only thing that we didn't like were the bed covers, they look very old.

This is a solid value for the money. My impression is that it is one of the better choices in the area. It's not the Ritz, but it's clean and comfortable, and the staff was professional and efficient. It's, literally, across the street from President Franklin Roosevelt's home in Hyde Park. I would stay here again.

Hotel was conveniently located to Roosevelt memorial, but about 50% higher priced than other similar local hotels, we discovered. Clean but bare minimum provided. Walls are paper thin. Pillows were half a normal size pillow. Breakfast was nice but no place to sit (very small eating area. Not worth what u pay.

Basic hotel, clean and convenient for what we wanted to do, visit FDRs home which is across the street. There are other things in the area to see. Good accomodations for a weekend trip at an affordable price.

Staff is friendly. Room was clean but air conditioning cycled on and off all night even though it was set on High Cool. That was annoying. The breakfast was a nice surprise with waffles, eggs and sausage. Overall impression was good. AC was a problem, though.

We checked in and were assigned a room very close to the parking lot but we were told there was no outside entrance near our room. We dragged all our luggage the entire distance to our room because of the night clerk. The next morning we checked out and drove home as my husband had had a massive heart attack. The clerk at the front desk. A very nice […] young lady couldn't have been nicer. Would return again, great location.....and because of the nice clerk.
