The Stratford Extended Stay Hotel - Atlanta

the whole hotel smelled like a skunk. from the moment we walked into the hotel all the way to the VERY small room. the bed did not have a fitted sheet. the TV's color was all kinds of off and could not be adjusted. the internet speed was beyond slow, it took 30 minutes for the webpage to load a screen that says "webpage timed out" and there were always […] people loitering in the parking lot and lobby; we did not feel comfortable with the car in the parking lot or with leaving anything in our room during the day. We have stayed in hotels that were half the price per night that were so much nicer (bigger room and bed, more well-managed in general.) We will not be staying in this hotel ever again considering there are cheaper alternatives that are nicer. Les mer

The hotel was in a n area where you did not feel safe, they had drug dealers and crack heads staying there, I was uncomfortable when I first walked in the door

basically i got what i paid for . no service at all. hookers and drug dealers on lot and in lobby . since it is an extended stay i was told they get alot of those.

This hotel was one of the most nasty places I have ever been in. We checked in to our room, then not even 5minutes later we checked out. I couldn't bare to even stay one night. I do not recommend this hotel.

If you want an exciting adventure and you are traveling in groups, this may be the place for you. It is an adventure and it will make your group bond more than ever before. Worrying if you will make it through the night will be a concern. The hotel is run down and in poor condition. Would only recommend in a group setting. Not a romantic hide-a-way […] or place to relax. The desk clerk was very nice and the customer service was very good. But the rooms are in bad shape. Dirty, run down, and scary. But if you want to improve your prayer life, this may be your place! Les mer

This place is just awful. It's in a sketchy neighborhood that is not close to anything. The room was tiny. The room was not cleaned, or poorly cleaned, when I checked in. The carpet in the hallway was stained. When I checked in, there were bums hanging out in the parking lot that had to be chased away... during the daylight hours! I heard another argument […] in the parking lot outside around 9:30 in the morning before I left. I honestly have no idea how someone could stay here for an "extended stay"... I barely made it through one night. The health department should shut this place down. Don't let the picture of the nice entryway fool you... this place really sucks. Les mer

This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Although it was very close to the event I was going to at the Fox Theatre, it was not even worth what I payed. The front desk people were useless and the room was tiny and smelled foul. I'm not even sure they provided a towel for showering. I wouldn't have used it anyway because the bathroom was nasty. […] I ended up being double booked for the night and had to go through a huge hassle of getting a charge off my credit card. The staff was of no help in trying to assist me. The manager seemed to never be there during normal business hours and it just prolonged the extra charge being on my card. It was their fault they double charged me, but yet i had to spend hours trying to fix it myself. I WOULD NOT GO TO THE STRATFORD INN!!! Les mer

Although this hotel was conveniently located for us for our stay, it was not up to par with other hotels I've stayed at. The hotel surroundings were dreary and dark. Irregardless of those factors since they can not be controlled by the hotel and the staff, the room itself was dirty, bleak, and uncomfortable. This hotel was dirty and the staff was unprofessional. The rooms were not cleaned daily, you have to take out your own garbage and the carpet has never been cleaned or replaced. This is a last resort place to stay if you don't want to spend too much and plan to sleep alone.

Roach Motel that should charge by the hour

This hotel has a nice brick arch over the entrance, but that's about the only nice part of the hotel. The whole place has the feel of a housing project. The neighborhood feels very unsafe, although nothing happened while I was there. People are just hanging out on the street for no reason. The hallways smell like smoke, marijuana, and fried food. There […] are people actually living in this hotel like it is an apartment building. My room was surprisingly nice and clean... the bedding seemed to be clean. However, every hard surface is covered with a film of greasy residue from god knows what... the floor, the counters, the tv remote... This is not a nice place to stay, but it is cheap and ok for one night. I wouldn't want to stay any longer. Les mer

The hotel is nothing like the picture it is a ragedy hotel it is located in the hood with drug dealers!!!!! Do not reserve this hotel you will regret it!!!!!!!!!!!

The room was very small, i had a dead Roach in the sink and by the bed (big ones) and I asked for new towels and for my room to be cleaned and no one came to do it. Also the internet service was really bad. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Personnel should be a little more professional and pleasant. -The entryway was pleasant and relatively clean w/ two meeting rooms; however, the hallways and elevator areas were dirty during my entire stay - The room was much smaller than I anticipated, the bathroom door would not shut, and there were dried stains on the sink/microwave […] area -Within walking distance of downtown, this was good -The immediate area was a little rundown. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We were supposed to have two beds for four of us, but that got messed up, so they gave us a second room at no additional charge. But it is in a bad neighborhood. We were unloading our bags and heard multiple gunshots from next door. The rooms were tiny, about the size of my bedroom at home, and the bathrooms […] were about the size of my closet. The hotel is old, but it was clean. It barley was worth just for an over night stay.

Awful hotel. Service was mediocre and the room was disgusting. The surrounding area is even worse. I felt very unsafe after dark.

the stay in this hotel was terrifying. the sheets were stained with what i can only assume to be previous occupants' genetic material, the "carpet" consisted of several unglued squares of rug, the bathroom reaked of feces and the occupants were loud, obnoxious, and intimidating. however, access to the music venue i went to visit made the stay worth […] it, especially for the price. if you haz no dollars and don't want to sleep in your car in the streets of downtown Atlanta, the Stratford Inn should be your home away from home Les mer

This hotel should not be listed as a location for booking on the hotels.com site, or any other site. The hotel staff was accomodating, but all other aspects of the hotel were a zero! (it didn't even rate a "1"

fairly low price to be 1.5 miles from downtown, but very very plain motel. Also, 2 blocks away, not a great neighborhood.

thank god we were only in ATL for one night. I booked this place because it was close to the venue where we were seeing a concert.. but this place was a dump. the rooms were dirty ... with mismatch furniture.. the bathroom was a closet with a toilet and nasty stand up shower .. we could not wait to leave ... as we packed up the car a gentleman pulled […] up in his car .. and said to us ... "this place is a flop house ... won't stay here again... looks nice on the outside.. fooled you on the inside" .... and that sums it up ... Les mer

I wanted something cheap due to I was only going to stay in Atlanta for one night and this is what I got. I did not like the room nor the location. It was close to downtown which was great but there were people hanging around and that did not make it safe. There was a hole where the door knob goes in the room door across the hall. This made it seem […] like someone was looking through the hole at me when I came out my room. The hallway was very scary and did have a bad smell. There was no bathroom sink only a kitchen sink. The shower was so small. I would not recommend anyone to stay there. Les mer

Needed a resonable one night stay for my college student. He said it was in fine for one night and the money. Wouldn't recommend to a family due to a scetchy part of town.

If there are no other rooms available in the whole city of Atlanta, do yourself a favor and stay inside your car. I am serious you are better of staying inside your car. Worst hotel I have stayed ever.

The Stratford Inn hotel I may stay at this hotel again only if I had too it is a average walk to the marta station. walking by yourself at night a couple of people hanging around at night. A chinese restaurant is open at night if you want something too eat late. Room service ok but 15 minute walk to train .

This hotel sucked . I only stayed there cause I wanted to be in walking distance for the phillips arena and we later found out that it was not in walking distance ! Then when your trying to find the hotel, the directions are not clear ! The room is small and the toliet is disgusting . I was very disappointed .. and I must say never again .

It took us 2 hours to even get checked into the hotel. Almost late for the basketball game we were attending due to this. The service was terrible. Our keys didnt work to our first room so we had to move to a different room that was not even what we asked for. Our reservations were for a room with 2 double beds and we got a room with ONE single bed […] and there were two people staying in the room. The bath towels were nasty with stains on them and there was hair all in the shower. Gross. Les mer

While the staff was pleasant and willing to accommodate, the room was tiny with a window looking out onto a stone wall. The neighborhood that the hotel was located is a part of Atlanta that anyone who is not looking for drugs or prostitutes should be well advised to avoid. Even though the price was affordable, This is a property to avoid

Almost everything that could go wrong went wrong. First, the phone in the room did not work and so they had to move me to another room. The remote had to be reprogrammed because the TV was different. Shortly thereafter, the remote needed new batteries. My room was not made up for two days because the new room was not "on the list" to be cleaned. The […] light above the sink went out and I had to get lightbulbs from the front desk (I had told them about the problem but nothing was done - you have to do it yourself). After all of these problems were resolved, the room was fine. The neighborhood is kind of rough, though. Stay indoors. Les mer
