Hotellet reklamerer med trådløst nett over hele hotellet, men jeg bodde en etasje ned fra resepsjonen og fikk dermed ikke dekning. Man måtte i såfall bruke kabel til maskin noe jeg ikke hadde. Et annet familiemedlemm bodde i 4-etasje og fikk heller ikke trådløst internett, så dette burde ikke hotellet reklamere med da mange bruker mobil og nettbrett på reise som ikke inneholder inngang til nettkabel.

Vi tilbragte 3 netter på Hotel Luxe i oktober 2011. De 2 første i et dobbeltrom med balkong og havutsikt og den siste natten i en såkalt suite (familierom). Det første rommet var vi meget fornøyd med! Det lå i 4. etasje og hadde flott utsikt over havna. Familierommet lå i 1. etasje, noe som ga oss utsikt mitt inn i murveggen på andre siden av bygget. Det fantes heller ingen balkong. Men romsligheten og kvaliteten på rommet forøvrig var upåklagelig. Ikke la deg lure av den lille størrelsen på dette hotellet. Det den mangler i plass og omfang tar den til de grader igjen på service og kvalitet! Fantastisk service i resepsjonen! Ytterst hjelpsomme og med et smil døgnet rundt. Hotellet ligger i kort avstand til både kaia, promenaden og palasset. De kan også tilby et spa område med jaccuzzi, badstu, treningsrom (svært lite) samt behandlinger som massasje og hudpleie. Det anbefales å benytte seg av dette! Inngang til fasilitetene er gratis, og behandlingene ligger på under halve prisen av hva det koster i Norge. Alt i alt vil jeg på det varmeste anbefale dette hotellet, uansett om du skal på partur, firmatur, venninnetur eller med en liten familie. Hotellet fremstår som veldig fresht og flott! Vi nøt hvert sekund, og kommer garantert tilbake!!!

. Hotellet ligger perfekt til ved inngangen av Diocletanius palasset ,en perle i seg selv. Kjempegrei vertskap som er behjelpelig med det meste.

Denne 68 km lange øya ligger to timer med ferje fra havnen Split på fastlandet. Den er veldig populær blant lystbåtfolket, og er kjent for sine lavendelåkre, vingårder og gamle steinbygninger i venetiansk stil. I Hvar by ligger en katedral fra 1500-tallet, en borg på toppen av bakken, og en piazza brolagt med marmor og kantet av trendy cocktail-barer og sjømatrestauranter. Flere av de nærliggende Pakleni-øyene (tilgjengelige med drosjebåt) er reservert for nudister.

"Flott hotell"
Et hotell hvor man har alt man trenger for en behagelig ferie. Hotellet er meget rent og til en hver tid ryddig. Hotellet god mat. Alt er nærme i forhold til sentrum av Hvar, til andre badeplasser mm. Vi opplevde lite støy i forhold til at Hvar har et bra natteliv for ungdommen. Meget rent og god service hele veien, og vi opplevde stedet som trygt og […] godt. Rommene kunne oppleves som små men smakfulle, men det er jo ikke der man skal oppholde seg når man er på Hvar. "Stort og upersonlig"
Hotellet har veldig fin beliggenhet rett ved en bukt,og har fine uteområder rundt bassenget. Rommene er også fint og moderne innredet. Problemet vi opplevde var at hver gang vi dusjet, ble gulvet oversvømmet. Vi sa i fra til betjeningen at vi ønsket ekstra håndkle for å tørke opp dette, men vi måtte purre om og om igjen helt til siste dagen. Frokostbuffen […] var ikke særlig sunn og osten var alltid "svett". Generelt dårlig mat ved alle av hotellkjedens restauranter. Det er for liten kapasitet ved bassenget, og man fikk sjelden plass om man ikke var frekk nok til å "håndkle reservere" før frokosten. Hotellet er alt for stort og upersonlig for vår smak, med plass til 700 gjester. Vi ønsker ikke å komme tilbake, men jeg antar at dette er et ok hotell for barnefamilier og folk som liker typisk chartersteder ( Vi oppdaget ved ankomst at Apollo tilbydte hotellet, selv om vi bestillte uavhengig av charterselskap). "Amfora - good location, poor service"
The location of the hotel is very good. 10 min walk from harbour. Family friendly hotel so not that good if you're there with your friends and want to have a party. The hotel is pretty good looking both indoors and outside by the poolarea. It's hard to get sundbeds though, seems as if there's not enough capacity. The big issue for me is the customer […] service. I called roomservice on a couple of occations and they didn't deliver. Well, that's ok if they tell me that they're not able but they didn't. They just didn't deliver. I was waiting in my room, called them back and then they told me they weren't able to deliver. Well, tell me then!!! And by the way, what they didn't deliver was matches. What a joke! And this goes for much of the staff. They don't seem to care about the wellbeing of their guests. Sad, cause else I would rate the hotel top notch. Also, they didn't seem to clean the rooms very good. Changed the towels but didn't change the sheets. It's all these little things (I have many more examples) which add up to a bad experience. "Veldig fornøyd!"
Hotellet gjorde opplevelsen av øyen enda bedre! Servicen var veldig bra. Området med basseng, restaurant osv. supert. Rommene var noe små, men hadde veldig bra komfort og var stilfulle. Frokosten var god og utvalget stort. Bra hotellopplevelse!
"Hotel Amfora på Hvar i Kroatia."
Et deilig hotel som ligger i passe gang avstand fra sentrum. Da går man langs sjøen og det tar ca. 10 min. Frokosten er veldig bra og svømmebasseng området er helt fantastisk. Det er ikke langt til badestrand om man ønsker å bade i det asur-blå vannet. Helt nydelig. Det er så rent og pent over alt og mange restauranter i sentrum. Ellers så blir Hvar […] kalt " Lavendel øya" Vi har nå vært der to ganger og håper på å reise tilbake neste år. Les mer
"Beautiful hotel and friendly employees"
This hotel is very trendy and beautiful on the beautiful Hvar island. I will recommend this hotel to everyone. I will go back here. It was quiet (almost to quiet) when we where there but that's because of the season. The highseason is from mid June to mid September. Next time I will go back in this period.

Hotellet holder høy standard. Flott bassengområde, komfortable rom med både dusj og badekar (kan sikkert variere noe fra rom til rom). Hotellet ligger i perfekt gangavstand fra sentrum og man blir hentet med hotellets minibuss når man kommer fra ferga. Kan absolutt anbefales.
"Kommer nok tilbake"
Stort og deilig basseng og området rundt poolen. Masse solstoler, rent og delikat. Koselige sittegrupper for lunch ved poolen. Stooor frokostsal (delt i to) med masse bord i passe avstand fra hverandre , og derfor ingen kø for å få noe å spise eller sitte. Negativ er at aircondition ikke var helt å stole på, og hotellet brukte flere dager for å rette […] på feilen. Heller ikke bra service da vi ved ankomst ba om å få oppgradere rommet med sjøutsikt. Dette var av merkelige grunn er heller ikke mulig tross for at det helt klart var en mengde rom med sjøutsikt ledige. Da vi sjekket ut fikk vi heller ingen informasjon om at det gikk buss fra hotellet og ned til havnen. Det var det et hyggelig par fra USA som fortalte oss om. De hadde heller ikke blitt informert, men hadde spurt og fått beskejd om at hotellet hadde buss til og fra alle båtavganger. Les mer
"Amazing View"
Very nice resort hotel. Well designed and a seaside view room is a must. Friendly service, 10 minute walk from the promenade into town, wifi, four computers in the lobby for guest use, great pool with water slide, gym and good breakfast.
"Wonderful stay at Amfora"
The location was outstanding! We loved that it wasn't right in the heart of the town which gave us an excuse for beautiful walks to town with the benefit of not feeling too in-the-middle of everything. The facilities and views were gorgeous! The breakfast buffet was great - the dinner buffet was not so great. The only complaint we had which others have […] pointed out is that the design of the bathroom is functionally very bad even though it looks great. There is no way to shower without getting water all over the floor. However, whenever we asked for extra towels, they were brought right away. Also, the door latches are poor - my husband got himself locked IN the bathroom and we had to call maintenance to get him out! Nonetheless, we would absolutely go there again and recommend it as a beautiful resort in a stunning location! Les mer
"Amazing! A perfect Romantic getaway"
I read some other reviews of this hotel that were less than amazing, but we decided to stay there anyway. It was perfect. We were in Croatia for 10 days for our honeymoon, and most nights we stayed at budget locations, but decided to have one splurge night. The Amfora was great for that. The view from our room was beautiful. The pool was awesome, there's […] a slide!! I think some people are holding hotels in Croatia to an american standard of opulence, it was simple, the room was small but what else does one need really? It was clean and sleekly designed and we were only in there to sleep anyway. The staff was helpful. The only downsides were the drink prices were a bit steep and not the best, but they did make a good pina colada. And the buffet was not the best restaurant on the island, so skip that and explore some of the other restaurants instead. But we had a marvelous time there overall! Les mer

I travel a lot for business and leasure. I was looking for a nice and cosy resort not too far from the action and I found it! Amfora is great, very clean and close to the town of Hvar. (5mn walking distance) The people who work at the hotel are ok. The view from the hotel is beautiful. The pool is really nice, and the included breakfast buffet is really […] decent. Also, at first I was a bit worried because children were allowed. When i want to relax, I normally go to hotels where they aren't allowed.But everything went fine, children are busy with the water slide and the large swimming pool. I stayed there 7 nights in total. And most importantly I relaxed :) ... I would recommend the Amfora Hotel Resort to young couples, and young famillies. People above 60 like my parents would probably want something even more quiet. Beautiful resort with high quality design and furnishing throughout. Busy at the height of summer but amazing location and fabulous staff. I shall return.
"beautiful hotel but staff not helpful"
This is a gorgeous hotel but when you ask staff for help they are very blase and not very friendly. We arrived at Stari Grad as the port staff did not tell us there was a catamaran that went right to Hvar so when we wewre straned at the other prt we rang the hotel and they were indifferent and told us to catch a cab for $US 90! When we asked about a […] bus they said we had to go back and ask the ferry staff!! Not very helpful when it is 30 degrees no shelter and you are lost!! they did not tell us that they could at least pick up our luggage once we finally got to the town either so we had to pay another $ 25 to get five minutes down the road because we did not know wher the hotel was. "Oversized and expensive, but nicest I saw"
There are many flaws with this hotel...the rooms are relatively small, the bathrooms are more about design than function, there is no easy way to get to reception from the entrance (so you likely have to carry your suitcase up a bunch of stairs), and it's a big resort with not so much character. All that said...it's nice, new, and modern so you feel […] like you're staying in a clean and pretty place. If you pay up for Superior, what your paying for is the view. In our opinion, it was worth it. All in all, Amfora was overpriced and flawed, but it felt nicer and more luxurious than other options we found. Les mer

Not elegant or special, too big and lacks personality. But, it puts you on the end of town and walking distance to local beach. Pool is big but so is hotel...

Overall this was a good hotel. Room was nice with a big bed. Just small things could have been better - shower flooded the bathroom, cracks around the toilet, staff werent the friendliest, breakfast was ok but not fully stocked if you went an hour before it finished. Otherwise it was good we arrived early & they stored our bag and let us use the pool. […] Short walk around the bay to the main town. Great pool especially for kids but also for couples. "Gr8 hotel but buy a gps to find your room"
Everything about the hotel was excellent. Except it took us over 1/2 hour to find our room the first day. Once we found it, it would take us 4.30 minutes to get from our room to breakfast and 3 lifts. 4 minutes to reception and 2 lifts and 6 minutes to the pool. Caution - some rooms advertised as private pool but the pool is shared by 2 rooms with a divider & not private, we were original allocated one of these rooms & were unhappy, we were quickly swapped to a more private room! All staff very helpful, food amazing!
"Great Pool and View but that's it."
Positives first. The pool is awesome and the view of the Adriatic is amazing. The pool side food was good, not great and the pool side service was great although the frozen drinks weren't frozen. Now with areas of opportunity. The staff service was absolutely horrendous for 4 days. The only 4 star thing about this hotel is it's location and it's pool. […] After complaining about a non-functioning AC, the maintenance employee said that it wasn't his fault that it was warm outside and that he couldn't do anything. We complained about the severe uncleanliness of our bathroom and they said they would re-clean the room and nothing was done. We wanted to drink on our balcony prior to dinner but the glasses in our room were filthy. The room was quite small which wouldn't have been a big problem if the room was cool and clean. For example, one day, our room was even cleaned properly, they just smoothed over the comforter from the previous day and called it a day. The shower had great temperature but flooded the entire bathroom due to a poor shower door fixture. We thought maybe it was us but we were one of quite a few people complaining at the front desk about the very same thing. Breakfast was weak at best. It's amazing that they have access to a wonderful breakfast facility and chose to put out 2 star food, every day. We stayed at another hotel in Croatia during our first leg and the breakfast at Amfora was lacking. There were also too many dirty plates and bowls which made the eating experience very uncomfortable. I don't normally rate hotels this low or keep a running list of awful things but this was too much for us to handle. I got the sense that the hotel threw out a skeleton crew before the rush of high season and was training a new staff or maybe that's just my wishful thinking. Les mer
"Bad experience!"
We arrived before the check-in (which was later than I expected, at 3pm); only to find that the room was still not ready by 6pm! The rooms are nice but so far from the reception; it did not help that the room key didn't work. There are better hotels on the Island!
"Clean, comfortable, well-situated"
Small but hip rooms -- they have a lot of style and make good use of space. Enjoyed not having to pay an internet surcharge. Excellent breakfast at the hotel. Nice pool and very short walk down to the beach.

"The Amorfa Hvar"
Fantastic location and spectacular views. The rooms are a bit small for the price but the sea view from the room makes up for it. Food and drink resonably prices and good quality. Not a place for young children but great for adults of all ages.

Bathroom shower leak so bad took all the towels to mop it out. When complained about was told a design fault and all rooms the same. pool area completely overcrowded and sun beds claimed with towels before sunrise!! poolside food very poor and so expensive.

"Amazing experience"
We would highly recommend this hotel. The hotel itself is wonderful, the staff could not have been any more helpful - they were reatlly great and the actually hotel and setting were just spectacular. We didn't want to leave.
The pool is definitely the best part about this hotel. You have to pay a daily fee if you want to use the chairs on the adjacent beach. We had a nice view from our room, but the amenities (towels, soap, tissue, etc.) were very sparse. For example, we were only provided with one tiny bar of soap to share amongst the sink and the bath during our 3-day […] stay there. The interior of the common space of the hotel is void of much character or decoration (long white hallways with nothing on the walls). The breakfast was okay, but not as nice as other hotel breakfasts we received in both Hvar (Adriana Hotel) and Dubrovnik (Radisson Blu Hotel) and most of the staff were less than personal. The towel person actually acted like it was our fault when their staff person had crossed off the incorrect room # when we checked out our towels. All in all, I would rate the hotel a 3 out of 5, but the pool is a 5. So if you don't plan on using the pool to swim or sunbathe, then I would suggest booking another hotel. Les mer
"The Amfora Hotel Hvar-Wonderful relaxation"
Great natural location on the beach. !0 minute walk to the main harbor. Great views, roomy and excellent service. Many of the extra services were closed as we were there in May, just before the tourist season started. Highly recomend this hotel!
"HoneyMoon Memories Gone Wrong"
We stayed from the 7- 13th Sept, we had just come from Turkey .We paid for a Sup Dbl room with a Sea View.On check in, Concierge were very attentive but not warm and by the time we began to check in we hoped for a warm welcome , it was the first night of our honeymoon afterall. The receptionist first checked our name and said we were not checked in […] and then after I presented my print out from Hotels .com did she acknowledge us , no welcome just straight down to business.The Amfora can be a confusing with all its lifts and stairwells and when placed at ground level with no sea view dissapointment sank in.We reported this to the front desk that evening deciding to ask rather than wonder what to do .We we e told a technician would look at the room and I asked if possible could we be moved the next day.We never heard anything again and rather than having to stress over our budget hotel room! we spent all of our time away from the Resort and Hotel area.Ordering hot water for tea took 30 mins .Laundry was prompt .Check out was cold and frosty from the same employee , she would not acept euros and rather than exchange it she insisted we must take money from the Atm to pay her ! No thank you for your stay , no smile , no we wish we could come back here - very dissapointing.This is no reflection on Hvar , a beautiful place to go but don't stay at the Amfora! Les mer

One of the nicest places in Europe we have stayed. Hotel fabulous in a wonderful location. If you can afford it definitely worth paying the extra for seaview. Sea as clear as you will find anywhere but don't expect beaches (just rocks). Hvar town closeby, very atmospheric and classy, with lots of eating places (many hidden up small cobbled streets). […] A sundowner at the Hula Hula bar a must to witness the most spectacular sunset. Couldn't fault a thing. Overall 10 out of 10. Les mer

Amfora Grand Beach resort is exactly what it says; very grand and on the beach. It is huge, with 320+ rooms and has a rather institutional air in its long corridors. It is also grand in its aspirations, which it lives upto in many ways. The rooms overlooking the sea are not huge, but are well proportioned and smart, and have breathtaking views. The […] balconies provide a quiet space if you prefer to stay away from the poolside sunfest. One quibble; the bath towels are the tiniest we have ever seen and one person gets through two after a shower! The pool is, however, well designed and interesting with rocky islands, a cascade , a slide and good poolside service. There is a short walk [50 metres] to the hotel beach and real sea, which is crystal clear and very tempting. No sand. The hotel public areas are cool and expansive with marvellous views from terraces and restaurant. We did not eat in the restaurant, but the food provided for the wedding we attended there, served in Bonj les Bains, was very good and well presented. Breakfast was more than adequate, although the fruit selection was rather limited-melon, grapes and apples. The staff were efficient and polite. good transfers from the ferry to hotel are provided free of charge, which is a nice touch. We did not use the spa or the gym, but they are there if you want them. "Four star hotel has cramped rooms and inadequate air conditioning"
Modern large hotel dominating beautiful venetian harbour on idyllic island of Hvar. "Resort hotel near the center of Hvar"
Amfora is a large, modern, and clean resort hotel a short and pretty walk from the center of Hvar. Our room was modern and comfortable, and chic to the point where it took some experimenting to figure out how to work the bathroom fixtures. The hotel has pools, a water slide, and is next to a rocky beach with watersports. That beach can get crowded, […] but that's easily avoided by taking a water taxi to one of Hvar's smaller surrounding islands. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. Parking a car can be difficult. We were lucky to grab the last parking spot on the hotel's driveway. Failing that we'd have to hunt for tricky street parking elsewhere. Les mer
"Had a really wonderful stay here for four days in June"
The hotel is in a wonderful location, just 10 minutes very pleasant walk from Hvar town. The room was small but fantastic view made up for that - it's definitely worth paying for the sea view. The bathroom is quite odd but very clean and modern. The pool area is fantastic. The only criticism is that some of the staff serving drinks etc. in this area […] were not very impressive. Our dealings with other staff, however, were much better, especially staff at reception who were extremely helpful. Didn't eat in the hotel in the evenings as there were so many good local restaurants. Breakfasts were fine with plenty of choice. Overall, a very very relaxing holiday. Absolutely loved Hvar. Les mer
"Generally excellent"
Positive - Fantastic location, great pool and restaurants. Clean and stylish rooms, Friendly staff. Negative - Very very small rooms, poor shower, no english tv channels, no entertainment.. Positives far outweigh the negatives, but defiantely go for a bigger room, they are very cramped.
