It was perfect!
very very dissapointed, food was terrible, not at all healthy, not a veriey for buffet settings. limited fruits and vegetables, the beach was very rocky and the hotel did not subsidize any shuttle bus whatsoever to another beach.I have been to jamaica twelve times already and this is my firsst bad experience, I paid for the name"The Ritz Carlton". would […] not recommend. There were a lot of very dissapointed guests who stayed there and were complaining.thank you. Zalda. Canada Les mer
I was very disappointed staying at th Ritz and wont recommend it to anyone. The beach is not safe to bathe very rocky. The hotel does not accomodate you with a shuttle bus at another beach. hotel guests have to pay $35. each way to bathe at Doctors cave. The food was terrible the same thing basically everyday absolutely nothing for vegetarians and defintely […] not a variety. Buffet style was limited anything you require that's not there cost an extra $15. etc. I have been to Jamaica 13times already and was very very disappointed at the Ritz. I will not be going there in a hurry. I would highly recommend Grand Bahia or the Riu. I love jamaica and will go back there again. Les mer
"The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall, Jamaica"
I have never been to Jamaica so I wanted to stay at a resort with a name I could trust. The Ritz-Carlton was just what I needed and expected! Quality at it's best!
"Nice hotel, but the beach is a downer"
This is very strange, but to build a beach front resort without a real beach does not make sense to me. You have ths nice property facing the ocean, but the beach is laughable. Rocks, seaweed, shallow marked area to sweam in, and very little sandy beach to walk on. This does not add up to me. If you are coming just for the beach, pick another spot. […] If you are looking to do other things, you might enjoy it. The hotel is nice, but it misses the mark because of the beach IMHO. Les mer
"Very satisfied with the Ritz Carlton"
Our family of 4 stayed at the Ritz for five nights, from 3/29-4/3/2012. We were very happy with the hotel and service (with the exception of the day time concierge); staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was not full during our stay, so there was no problem with restaurant reservations or pool area umbrellas. The singer at Mangos is really great. The […] hotel website is not very informative so I would pass along the following information: Hotel shuttle service is available at the airport but expensive for families, at $20/person one way. There is a hotel lounge at the airport, but you have to pay an entry fee (I think it was $30/pp). Wireless is free in the hotel public areas but not in the rooms and is pretty slow. We downloaded a movie for the flight back, and it took over an hour. At the beach apparently the kayaks can used free for guests, but there's no sign indicating that at the beach kiosk. Bring lots of small bills - there is a lot of tipping involved. The Rose Hall tour is $20/pp; there's a free shuttle there and one to the Rose Hall shops, but apparently not between the shops and Hall. I was told there are night tours at Rose Hall. The Rose Hall shops were not particularly interesting - primarily jewelry stores, and some t-shirt shops, but there's a great coffee shop and a food store (jerk sauce, coffee, spices, etc.). The Half Moon Bay shops are the next property over, but not a very appealing 10 minute walk along the highway. At the hotel, there's a souvenir shop, and a pretty interesting art gallery that unfortunately wasn't open for much of our stay (hours weren't posted). There are very limited snack foods you can buy at the hotel shop and all the merchandise is pretty expensive (my camera batteries died - 2 AA batteries were over $8). Les mer
"Definitely a 5-Diamond Stay!"
Our stay at the Ritz was amazing! Not only was the property beautiful, but more importantly, the staff is what makes it a 5-Diamond resort! They truly love what they do for their guests and it shows in their kindness and willingness to go above and beyond the typical resort stay. The authentic Jamaican food was amazing! You must make sure you visit […] the Jerk Center several times during your stay! They are truly the best part of the hospitality when it comes to genuine Jamaican culture! Les mer
My family and I spent Xmas there 2011 we had a lovely time... Just relaxing and being spoilt by the staff who were very friendly & helpful. A big thanks to Uroy manager in the restaurant who always ensured our glasses were full and food was to our satisfaction .
"only 5star in jamaica"
but they could use more umbrellas by the pool
We are in the medical profession and came to Jamaica to deliver medical supplies to those in need over Christmas. This hotel was so personal and quickly identified why we were there, called us by name all the time, went out of their way tomake us feel at home and to insure that all of our needs were taken care of. Private parking within 50 feet of the […] front door; special conceirge service to help us with whatever we needed. And even let us attend the christmas party for the children at the Orphanage. The evening ambiance in the bar with the live music each night was terrific and even the waiter in the bar knew out names. it was terrific and we will for sure stay there again. Les mer

I've stayed at many hotels, but The Ritz Carlton has to be my number one. Customer service was excellent, food was good and staff on the whole was very friendly. I would definitely stay here again. The hotel was cleaned to a very high standard, the rooms are spacious and very clean. I was reluctant to have a garden view room, but had no regrets the […] view from the room was beautiful. Les mer

"Too far out..."
We stayed for a couple of days at the Ritz in Montego Bay while visiting my parents for their Retirement Home Housewarming. The accommodations were wonderful but the events and activities were non-existent. The food was delicious but expensive!!!! In addition, the hotel is very far from town and the other Montego Bay hot spots and getting back and forth […] to my parents became exhaustive. I would recommend staying there but only if you are in the mood for a "really, really quiet time away from Montego Bay and without kids". Les mer

"Excellent"
Great hotel. Very nice rooms. Only problem is that there is no soundproofing between the room and the hallway and you can hear even quiet conversations as people pass by your room.
"Ritz-Carlton Montego Bay - Great People"
The people at the Ritz make the Ritz. They live up to and beyond their motto of ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen. Two quick examples: our 3 1/2 year old stopped a gardener to ask him "why he was cutting down the trees"... The gardener explained they were weeds... after five more minutes of 3 year old conversing with groundskeeper ... […] he offered to take us for a coconut... we drove in his golf cart (slowly) he found the right tree, cut the coconut down... cut it down to the perfect oval coconut (not just the quickie cut) and my son was drinking fresh coconut milk... Carla our night housekeeper, met our son the second evening and took the time to speak with him about different topics... One night, my son and I came up early to the room from our dinner leaving mommy downstairs for some quiet time ... and he was wailing... (we'd let him stay up dancing with the live entertainment too long...) anyhow, Carla knocks on the door and said she didn't like "son's name" crying ... and decided to talk him down.. and then got us out of the room to walk around...then she left us...(boy now happy) and we returned to our room a little while later and she had finished the turn down service... It just goes on... We vacationed the week leading up to and including Christmas and there were lots of families there -- mainly from the States. We made friends with a few families and my son fell in love with a 4 year old from Manhattan... (note that we wanted to but couldn't participate in Ritz' kids club as our child was not old enough...) The meals were fine and there was lots of food... breakfast buffets were fantastic -- fresh omelets, fruits, etc., smoked salmon ... lunches were best at the Jerk Centre ... picnic table on the beach and fresh BBQ dinners were okay ... for island dining "Fantastic" but, this isn't Manhattan. Would strongly recommend the Escape to Luxury package -- everything is included except for the White Witch restaurant ... where there's a smal Les mer
"The Ritz Carlton Montego Bay"
It was everything that I expected from the Ritz Carlton. I went in August and the resort had just the right amount of guest, not too crowed and not too many kids. The staff was excellent and accommodating. I did not do all-inclusive but it still worked out well for me. At the end of my stay I realized that I received an unexpected promotional credit […] so that made me even happier : ) I stayed at the Iberostar Suites on this trip as well and though it is a newer resort the Ritz Carlton was in much better condition. I really enjoyed my stay there. However the main strip is about 15 min away so if you like to go out then you have to factor in the cost of taxi service. Les mer
"Great hotel...but bring lots of spending money."
Although the room was cheap, the food and cocktails were ridiculously expensive. The service was wonderful, as were the facilities. For four nights, our bill for food and drinks (each cocktail was $10) for two people was $1,000. Great service, great facility, and seemed to be a great place for families (we went on a romantic getaway).
"The Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall, Jamaica"
The room we've got, we could hear a strong continuing noise from air conditioner or other hotel centralized system comming from outside. Like a power plant or something like that. Especially at night. Only if we opened the exterior slidding window. The Hotel shuttle was absurdily expensive.
"Eat locally, not at the Ritz"
Food was too expensive and not very good
"Excellent service"
I felt extremely pampered at the hotel, beginning with the welcoming glass of champagne, the courteousness and helpfulness of the entire staff (always addressing me by name)and overall customer service.
"Beautiful, but way overpriced!"
Overall, the hotel was beautiful, with wonderful amenities. The Jerk Center is absolutely delicious, and we strongly recommend it! However, the overall "culture" of the hotel was very, very sleepy, with absolutely nothing going on at night. They even played reggae muzak by the pool, not real reggae music, which was weird. We did the hotel rate, as […] opposed to the all-inclusive rate - and found the hotel rate to be absolutely outrageously overpriced. Breakfast was more than I would pay for a nice dinner in Washington DC. Drinks were over-the-top expensive, and in just a few days, even though we tried to be mindful of expenses, we paid hundreds and hundreds of dollars for what felt like very little. The vents along the hotel hallways, on the first, second and third floors, were blowing *hot* air, which made some areas of the hotel unbearable in the 90 degree heat. Our room, on the second floor, was simply damp. The sheets and comforters were slightly damp, and never seemed to dry. The cleaning crew washed our hotel room each day, and left much of the floors damp-to-wet, which, again never seemed to dry. Les mer
"Service once in room was not good, water was turned off two nights, ac rattled, tv did not work upon arrival"
Needs Improvement
"Needs Improvement"
The hotel was great however, the service was not good and certainly not expected from a Ritz. Staff very friendly but did not deliver when requested. Water to hotel was turned off two nights from 11:30p to 6:30a so could not take shower prior to departure.

"Great Hotel"
Staff was exceptional. The hotel bed was very tough. Have stayed at other 5 stars and none have ever had a mattress as hard as this one. Other than that, the overall experience was what is expected at the Ritz.
"Great Hotel"
Great hotel, Great Customer service.

"Molto Bello"
Hotel molto bello e lussoso. Purtroppo la spiaggia non è all'altezza e il cibo - se non si sceglio l'opzione 'tutto compreso' - è oltraggiosamente caro.
