Great location with a friendly and accommodating staff

My girls and I went for a short spring break getaway and we were very impressed by the hotel. Everything was very nice and we got to stay on the 8th floor with a view of the pool. I didn't really like having to pay $10/day to park, but I guess for the area you would have to pay that. It seemed to be pretty safe. There is a topless bar next door, but […] I don't think Houston has zoning laws, because I saw that type of thing all over town! It didn't bother me though...it wasn't like there were glass windows and you could see in! LOL! Les mer

This was our first spring break trip to Houston (last year South Padre). Age range for the children with us was from 5 to 14. The hotel was clean and the service was EXCELLENT. Breakfast buffet is $10. though we did not use it. Parking was free with a few spots around the front of the hotel but the majority in the covered garage at the hotel; never […] had any problems parking. We visited the Children’s Museum of Houston, the Downtown Aquarium and then hours of swimming at hotel pool. The hotel was about 20 minutes (due to traffic) from the places we visited. The hotel is located in a nice area (Galleria) along with many other hotels. There is an apartment/condo complex across the street. One word of caution if you have children with you; there is a Gentleman’s Club on one side of the hotel though we never saw any activity while there so not sure if it is actually open. Our price for 2 queen beds not great but ok since reservation was last minute and it was spring break & rodeo in town. We were originally booked at Hotel Derek in the same area w/much lower rate but opted to move as it was not a kid friendly atmosphere ;) We did not have any problems at Hilton Garden Inn Galleria and I would definitely stay here again. Nice staff, clean environment, very good management. Enjoyed the daily breakfast with the friendly staff. All in all, it was a good experience and this hotel is highly recommended.

Great service. Girlfriend getaway celebration for turning 40. Hotel put wine and cheese/fruit tray in room as a surprise! What a treat!

This hotel is great for stay for a weekend I was there for new year weekend and it was great the hotel smell and look great and I enjoyed it. It is a good hotel to stay at.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were great and the location cannot be beat for shopping.

This was my first stay at an HGI and I was definitely impressed. The first thing I noticed upon entring the room was the smell. It smelled as if someone has just washed the sheets. The room was very clean and due to all the take out that I brough back the mini fridge and microwave were a real bonus. Everything went great the hotel was very accomidating when we arrived they ask us if there was a special reason for the stay and as soon as they found out that it was our anniversary they moved us to a better room and later they sent up a cheese and fruit tray with a very nice note thanking us for choosing them and wishing us a great anniversary. They […] were very helpful with directions and they offered to make us dinner reservations. The room was very nice with the two seperate areas they had extra blankets for while you were in the sitting area. The bed was great and everything was very clean. It does sit next to a gentlemans club as I am sure that you have read about but we would have never even know that it was that if we had not already read about it. There was no one outside and it was not a nasty area you would think that it was a place to eat or something like that. I would stay again anytime that I come to houston. And the best thing is it was right beside in walking distance of the galleria. Les mer

Pretty standard hotel. Clean and comfortable. No real standout...they did have cookies at the front desk for you. Oh, factor in that you have to pay to park (10 bucks a day). Really close to the Galleria. Good place to stay if you're shopping.

The staff was courteous. My only complaint about this hotel was that the mattress was not the most comfortable. My first stay at a Hilton Garden Inn.

Excellent hotel conveniently located to the Galleria in Houston. We were staying there to see my son at Rice and then go to the Band of America competition in Conroe.

-you can get free snacks and refreshements at the front desk. -it is clean -good customer service - clsoe to galleria service BAD: next to night club for guys..

I stayed here for my birthday weekend 9-24-11 thru 9-25-11. I can say my two rooms I had were both great! The price could have been a bit cheaper & the pay to park charge on two rooms was 10 dollars each even though we drove & parked one vehicle. Did not like those fees. I believe one vehicle to park then one fee charge of 10 dollars not two charges […] of 10 dollars because two room purchases. Other than that stay was great! Les mer

After a 4-night stay during the Labor Day weekend, I would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel. There is a ton of other nice hotels in the same area that would have been better (and probably cheaper). The room: - The wanna-be sleep number bed was uncomfortable and did not maintain its firmness on one side, leaving me with a sore back for days. - The water was […] either hot (when set on cold) or scalding hot (when set on hot). - The TV was not activated to rent/watch in-room movies. The food: - The included continental breakfast/buffet was decent. - In the afternoons, they provided you with hard, stale, day-old cookies in the lobby. The service: - The complimentary shuttle service had taken us ~1 mile away to a wedding and was to be back to pick a group of us up at 1145pm, however, after 15-20 minutes of waiting in the rain and still no sign of the shuttle, we called the hotel at midnight to find that the shuttle was “going to be contacted” to pick us up- in the meantime, we hailed a taxi, then cancelled the shuttle. - We ordered room service on Sunday evening and the tray was not picked up until sometime Monday night- this was well after housekeeping had come and gone! - Upon check-out, no one was at the front desk for service. We had to go to the restaurant side to find an employee that could find someone to help us. Two male front desk employees came and started to bicker with each other about why we did not receive a receipt under our door that morning before helping us with our check out. - The front desk employees did not give good recommendations. When I inquired about either a BBQ or steak restaurant that would “be worth it,” they recommended a BBQ restaurant that was definitely not worth it! They told us we should leave for the airport (IAH) 3 hours in advance because “you have to take the busiest highway in town to get there and after a holiday there will be a lot of traffic.” It took us about 35 minutes to drive the 20 miles, which left us sitting at the airport for ab Les mer

It takes forever to get anywhere in Houston, but this hotel is conveniently located off of the big loop that circles around the city and is about as close to the middle as you can get while still being able to conveniently get north or south in as little time as possible. The hotel is kept very clean, the surrounding neighborhood is safe, and the galleria […] is literally a 5 minute walk away. We enjoyed our time there very much. Les mer

Be aware! This hotel is next door to a gentlemen's club. Houston zoning laws are dicey at best. I was very disappointed to have my family stay at a location next to a topless club. I had no idea before I reserved the room. Did not appreciate the $10.00/day parking either.

I would NEVER stay at this place again. The rooms were GREAT, the staff was AWESOME, the pool was Terrific however to add a $10.00 fee for parking is ridiculous. They didn't even ask me for my license plate number, so I'm guessing they are doing it on the Honor System. Why don't they just charge $10 more for the room in the first place. Overall, our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn was a very pleasant one. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Pretty decor throughout the lobby and rooms. The pool area is small, but again clean and cute. Parking garage is nice to have, not there was a $10 charge per night. Everyone was very friendly and appreciated their guests. Lovely friendly staff, comfortable, clean. A great place to stay!

The hotel was centrally located and very well mainatined. The pool was nice. Room was spacious and comfortable. Had to pay $10 a night for parking, which was disappointing.

Quality is a word that describes this hotel. The location, service and rooms are all great. You can't beat the location. An example of great service occurred when I ordered a movie and later turned off the t.v. I could have lost my movie, but the front desk understood my mistake and let me watch it again. The rooms are nothing special, but they are […] very roomy and comfortable. The only bothersome part about the hotel is having to pay for parking. Hotel was very nice, clean and the staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast was better than most hotels but average because of the price.

Very nice location and very nice hotel. Free ride to the Galleria by the hotel Concierge. Could have walked though. Nice choice of restaurants. Breakfast in hotel was awesome. Fresh baked cookies was great! Nice pool and hot-tub. Beds were terrific.

This is a great hotel. It is the second time my wife and I stayed at this hotel. We actually live in town and use it for an in town get-a-way. Great location, very very clean, very comfortable bed and staff have very helpful.
