Dette hotellet ligger helt sentralt i den gamle bykjernen av Madrid. Med gåavstand til Prado og Thyssen museet og mange flotte restauranter og barer. Prisen er ikke så høy, men alt var ordentlig og rent. Internet fungerte og frokost var bra. Vi kommer gjerne igjen.

Well-located--on a quiet street yet within walking distance of the Plaza Mayor and the Puerta del Sol. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Good central location; quiet; good breakfast. Rooms sparsly and cheaply furnished. Minimalist in every respect, don,t expect any comfort, but the price is right in this expensive city.

Everything about the hotel was excellent. However, we were looking forward to using the kitchenette advertised in each of our rooms, for making tea/coffee. Unfortunately there were no utensils of any description provided. Not a cup or a spoon. This was not advertised on any of the hotel information.

I find 4 things worth mentioning with re. to this hotel: 1) I do not believe it has 2 identical rooms. The room we had had 2 floors and a very funky/modern style - very interesting - even though some decent chairs would have been nice. 2) Exceptional friendly and service minded reception, that made you feel very welcome. 3) Very good continential breakfast […] included in room price. 4) Room had a small kitchen (no kitchen equipment), but this section of the room was not opened until we asked re. coffee outside breakfast hours. We got a pot to boile water in and 2 cups, so we were able to make us a cup of instant coffee. If/when we return to Madrid Laura will be a hotel to consider. Les mer

What more is there to say? Take an old building in the center of Madrid, totally renovate it with mod rooms (mine had a balcony, good size room, and a loft with a desk and sofa), and set a fair price? I will definitely return! Plus I hear this is part of a series of hotels under the Room Mate listing--will look for them in other cities.

We went to Room Mate Laura for a weekend and had a fab time! The location is extremely central - very close to both Sol and Opera metro stations. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Always happy to help with queries. The rooms were very funky - more like apartments! The only downfall are the bathrooms, They could do with a bit of renovating […] but in no way did this affect our experience. The only thing i would say is make sure you have decent map for finding the hotel when you first arrive. The map on Room Mate Laura's website is quite misleading and we were wandering around for quite a while! Les mer

ThIrd time in this property. Every room was different and each a gem. Spacious , comfortable and with unique flair. Staff is wonderful, kind and helpful at all times and in both English and Spanish. Terrific location for Madrid...you can walk to everything...monuments, shopping, metro, etc, yet it is tucked away where it is quiet and doesn't have a […] lot of street traffic or noise at night. Have gone to Madrid almost 20 times, and I think we have found the perfect combination in this hotel. Les mer

Great stay after a flight from Australia Very central to everything We went to the Railway Station and next to it is the Bus line that takes you to Sergovia, a great and reasonableside day trip Only metres from the Room Mate Laura is a great restaurant, reasonable for 3 courses and only 12 Euros called El Zagal The Staff at 'Laura' are very friendly […] as are all the Spanish people we came in to contact with Just switch off and walk the streets as we did...great NO problems with pickpockets etc...just don.t make yourself an obvious target Carry minium money for the day as we did and other valuables leave in your room safe You can easily walk to the Palacio Royal or the Prado Just have your main meals between noon and 4pm and enjoy your stay Les mer

We booked a duplex, knowing rooms can be smaller in Europe. The two storey room was amazing! Funky lighting and artwork were the things we will remember the most along with the service level that was unassuming and fun! The deal for breakfast at only a few Euro each was a great deal too!

The hotel was fantastic, modern and clean. Close to the buzz of the Sol area and only 2 Metro stops from Gran Via. Staff were really helpful and printed off the route of the Madrid marathon for us within minutes of asking. We also got upgraded to an apartment which was a lovely treat. It was clean and modern, good size room. Location is perfect. Across the street from El Corte Ingles and the entire shopping district. Walking distance to Plaza Mayor and Palais Real and Grand Via. However, it can be noisy at night due to bars downstairs.

Roommate Laura is awesome. First off the employees are amazing. Super helpful, humble, kind and have a great English vocabulary. This could not really be said for most other hotels we stayed at in Spain. The hotel is very cool, stylish and in a fun area just off of Gran Via, one of the main streets in Madrid. The rooms are very nice and have cool lighting […] as well. The metro is a fairly easy walk from the hotel and many areas of the city are easy to get to from here. We highly recommend the hotel! My wife and I stayed at Room Mate Laura in early October. The hotel is located in the main tourist area of Madrid, although, looking at the map, you might wonder if this is actually the case. It is within easy walking distance of the Plaza Mayor (about 10 mins), the Palace (about 10 mins in the other direction) and Puerta del Sol (only about 7 mins). […] Also close (about 3 or 4 mins) to the Opera metro station (probably even closer once the construction work in the plaza around the station entry has been completed. We used the hop-on hop off bus a fair bit, and found that the hotel was quite well located to access a number of stops for this too. The tapas bars in Huertas are also only 10 mins away by foot (if you know where you are going). There are a couple of breakfast places a couple of minutes away, but breakfast is also available at the hotel (we did not try it - actually thought that they did not serve breakfast, but on the last day there, we realised that it is served in the basement) We had one of the rooms under the roof - the room was quite large because of this, but some of the space was inaccessible for anything other than storing bags and other purchases due to the angle of the roof. Can't really say how it compares with rooms on the lower floors - but we were happy with it. The only thing which I might "complain" about is that the bed was pretty hard - but after 5 weeks travelling in Spain, I would have to say that Spanish hotel beds tend to be hard. Les mer

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was nice and clean and in a great location. Only downside is the noise at night.. Hotel is situated on a one-way system that got congested, and the Spanish do like to beep the horns!! Having said that, I would stay again and would recommend this hotel!

Very clean and modern. Great location. Great breakfast at 6euro pp. However,a double bed was two beds pushed together, very uncomfortable. Air conditionings was broken therefore the room was very hot.Overall, a very clean and central location and very modern. WOULD go back....to a double bed!

By far one of the best hotels of our 12 day Spain visit! From the moment we walked through the doors, the staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful providing maps and directions to the city. The room was modern with soothing colors- our was white and turquoise with a Queen Isabella motif. The room was very quiet with a balcony looking out […] to what seemed to be a quiet, residential neighborhood. No reason to leave the area to find dinner- a number of good restaurants nearby. This place is so centrally located- near the palace and other major sites are within walking distance. Breakfast was great and offered a variety of items whether one is trying to eat healthy or if you wished to indulge yourself a bit more. This was a small funky boutique hotel. We got upgraded to a two floor, two bathroom loft. Looks just like the website pictures. Centrally located near metro opera and sol. Five minute walk to Plaza Mayor. Luca at the front desk had great recommendations for eating and going out! There was wireless internet in the hotel and also 1 laptop computer in […] the lobby for use 24 hrs a day. We were there in July and we were able to control the temperature of the room but the lobby wasn't air conditioned (only downside). REALLY enjoyed our stay! Les mer

Check in was okay, staff not very friendly, somewhat stressed... My reservation with hotels.com included breakfast, and the hotel said it didn't include it, I didn't get into much discussion, but had to pay for it. Room was comfortable, but right next to pubs and night clubs. The reception told me they were giving me an "upgrade", and sent me to room […] either 104 or 105 (can't remember), which was very noisy, and with traffic on both sides of the room. Thanks for such"upgrade"... There are many hotels near by, don't recommend this one. I believe it's way over priced for the service you get. Wonderful hotel ... we stayed for three nights and the staff were super. When we asked for restaurant ideas for two different nights the young man at the desk was spot on both times... great restaurants ! We were given a better room with a view upon asking at no charge. We would use this hotel again.

This excellent contemporary boutique-style hotel is right in the heart of Madrid. Great for a city break unless you want bargain basement (a bit pricey for this) or top notch luxury (not good enough) Our excellent, spacious duplex apartment was great value and it's not surprising it's so highly rated on Trip Advisor. Check out the reviews on this site […] by others. Couldn't fault it: the room, the extremely friendly staff, the good buffet breakfast, even nice details like free apples in the entrance foyer. Would recommend it to anyone who wants a few days to explore this vibrant Spanish city. Les mer

Upon walking into the lobby of this hotel, one feels like s/he has entered into a swanky lounge given the hip decor and young staff. This sense carries over into the rooms, especially when evaluating the furniture. This place has definite personality that perhaps is better suited to a younger demographic. Rooms: we stayed in a loft. Lots of storage […] space, but the bathroom is a bit on the small side. Lots of thoughtful features throughout, however, the layout of the room isn't the most conducive to a comfortable stay. The stairs are a bit precarious(steps are funky) and the bathroom is positioned downstairs. No nightstands, and the headboard/wall - while graphically interesting - presents sharp, cornered edges that could be dangerous to unbeknownst sleepers. TV also oddly positioned and the A/C was perpetually on (broken). Otherwise, the room was nice, perfect for entertaining guests or for business...very nice to have free use of Internet and security box. Toiletries also nice. Breakfast (included!): good selection of breads, fruits, cheeses,cold cuts, beverages...perfect for filling up for a long day of sightseeing. Staff/Service: staff was very friendly, spoke great English, and provided excellent recommendations on local restaurant options. Also very helpful in determining itinerary for sightseeing and transportation methods. They were very accommodating to guest needs, which I imagine is a hallmark of the Room Mate chain. Overall a little on the more expensive side, but you get what you pay for, and given its perks (including the great location), I'd recommend this hotel. Les mer

All you could expect and more from a "nice" hotel. On a 30 day trip through Europe, I was satisfied the most with this one simply because it was perfect. I especially praise the staff for being so friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again! I feel perhaps that Room Mate is aimed at a younger market than us. They tried to look modern, but it was more IKEA modern than avant-guard quality that other hotels can manage. Nothing felt sturdy and it will all look very tired quite soon. Good points were the location (well there are better locations, but it was very near to shops and good bars) […] and the breakfast was quite well done - I could get a decent coffee out of their machine. Bad points include that they have "idiot-keys" to give in every time you leave the hotel, but there wasn't always someone there to give tem back when returning from a hard days tapas bar hopping. The rooms, although reasonably quiet for Madrid, were not as soundprofed as better hotels, so we did hear the irate drivers outside being stuck in the various one-way systems. Bottom line is that Room Mate Laura was okay, decent value, but not as good as other places we have stayed in Madrid. Les mer

Room Mate Laura is situated just a couple of minutes' walk from Plaza Nueva, which is a center for the Metro and the gateway into other parts of the city. The staff at Room Mate Laura was especially helpful, especially Luca, who showed us great areas for eating tapas and even opened the breakfast area for us before opening hours because we had an early […] train to catch. The room was wonderful... lots of character. Each seems to be different, but we had two large windows (but we never had a problem with noise at night), a small couch and coffee table, a desk and chair and a large bathroom by European standards.... and about six closets!! This was a standard double - not a suite. Finally, the breakfast was very fulfilling, with numerous fruit, cereal and pastry options as well as meats, cheeses, juices, tea, coffee, etc. Just wonderful! We loved Room Mate Laura so much that we stayed at Room Mate Migueletes in Granada... which we also recommend. Les mer

If you want to be right at the center of Madrid and easily accessible to almost everything including Plaza Mayor and Puerto del Sol, this is a great place to stay. Just a warning- although they say it is only a 2 minute walk from the Opera metro stop, know that if you are not familiar with Madrid, it will be VERY confusing to find. It would have only […] been a 2 minute walk except all the streets change names and wind into each other and the street they are on are not on most maps, so it tooks us 45 minutes to find it. Mooie moderne hotelkamer. Ontbijt was goed. Hotelpersoneel was erg behulpzaam: op de dag van vertrek moesten we eerder weg dan dat het ontbijt mogelijk was. Speciaal voor ons werd de ontbijtzaal geopend en konden we weliswaar niet uitgebreid, maar toch wat eten. Ligging van het hotel is super. Vijf minuten lopen vanaf Puerta del Sol, met een pleintje […] voor de deur. Klein minpuntje: ondanks de rolluiken hoor je wel goed wat er op straat gebeurt. Zou er zelf wel weer heengaan. Les mer

Un hôtel en dehors des sentiers battus pour amateurs d'hôtels un peu "décalés" et design. Accueil parfait, chambre vaste et confortable, excellente literie, bons petit-déjeuners... Une très bonne adresse. Seul petit bémol, la maintenance pourrait faire l'objet d'un soin plus attentif.

The hotel is small but nice. One has to appreciate the specific decoration, but it adds something to the hotel. The room was spacious and we had two balconies. When I asked to fix one of the lamps, they were fast to do so. The room was a bit smelly (washroom detergent), but not much. One thing was less agreeable: as you are in the middle of Madrid (which […] is noce; near all shopping streets), the streets were very noisy until very late in the night. Hôtel très bien situé, accueil très sympa. Petit déjeuner copieux. Pas du tout bruyant contrairement à ce que j'avais pu lire.

Un albergo bellissimo, con un design particolare e un rapporto qualità/prezzo ottimo. Le camere sono pulite, spaziose e silenziose, il personale è gentile e sempre disponibile. Inoltre è un albergo centralissimo: si trova a dieci minuti da Plaza Mayor e a 5 minuti dalla metro.

Sehr freundliches Personal, zentrale Lage, schöne Designerzimmer, gutes Frühstück.
