Veldig stilig hotell, tøff arkitektonisk og pene rom. Små minus på rommet er en dusj som lekker slik at man må tørke en vannpytt etterpå, samt en lite kald minibar. Altså bare bagateller. Bra rengjøring. Grei service på hotellet, men intet mer enn hva vi ba om. Noen ganger er jo det helt ålreit. Frokosten er dyr og asketisk. Varmretter må man betale tillegg for. Men den er likevel å foretrekke fremfor de elendige restaurantene og frokostmenyene på la rambla (hold dere unna all mat på la rambla). Beliggenheten er upåklagelig. Kort oppsummert et hotell som absolutt er fire stjerner verdig. Stilige rom. Anbefales.

Jeg og min mann overnattet på Alexandra hotell i forbindelse med 4 dagers miniferie til Barcelona. Hotellet hadde ypperlig plassering i forhold til både serverdigheter, shopping og restauranter. Kan anbefale restaurant Cervecería Catalana som ligger 1 minutt fra hotellet (Mallorca 236), her har de nydelig tapas! Ellers var personalet strålende, både i resepsjonen og i baren. De kan mye om byen og snakker godt engelsk. Rommet er moderne inredet og vi fikk en liten balkong der vi kunne nyte morgen solen. Dusjen er herlig, med stor "overhead" dusjhode. Eneste minus må være at sengen var litt hard. Barcelona er en fantastisk by og et opphold på Hotel Alexandra kan absolutt anbefales som et godt utgangspunkt.

Kjempefin tur med 3 venninner. Sightseeingbuss, shopping, fortauskafeer, gode måltider og avslapning på hotellets tak og basseng. Fortauskafeene utenfor hotellet er også veldig ok med hyggelig betjening.

Menyen i baren/resuranten vel spesiell .Fordel om det hadde vært tilbud om noen menyer med internasjonal mat. Fristet ikke til å spise der, selv om baren og resturanten var koselig. "Supert designhotell."
Vi bodde tre netter på Villa Emilia i begynnelsen av mars. Hotellet ligger en drøy kilometer fra Placa Catalunya. Vi synes det var greit å rusle inn til sentrum, men Metroen ligger også rett ved hotellet om du ikke ønsker å bruke bena. På hotellet er det rent og pent overalt, det lukter godt og de ansatte er vennligheten selv. Rommet var greit, sengen […] var god, putene var ikke så gode og badet var flott. Hotellet har også en fantastisk takterrasse hvor det var fint å sitte i solen og nyte det man hadde lyst til å nyte. Frokosten koster 14 euro, men du får den til 10 euro om du kjøper ved innsjekk. Det kan anbefales. Vi synes den var bra. Gratis WiFi for gjestene og dette fungerte også bra. Vi synes Villa Emilia ga god valuta for pengene. Vi anbefaler det gjerne videre! Les mer

"Nice hotel in Barcelona / Flott hotell i Barcelona"
We stayed at this hotel for a full week the first week of September 2011. The hotel was excellent we would say. Only two issues that could be improved slightly- the mattress was a bit hard and the breakfast was expensive compared to selection and variety of food and drinks. It should however be said that the quality of the food served was very high. […] Else the room and hotel was clean, of good quality, excellent service, well maintained, wireless internet access was available and it was only 100 meters to walk to the metro. It was also very quiet and we were never disturbed by noise at the hotel or from the outside. Every day from 5 to 7 pm there were coffee, tea and snack made available for the guests and we used this service a few times and enjoyed it. It was also a nice roof terrace that we used to have drinks in the evening. We used the metro most often to get to the centre of Barcelona and it took us 10-12 minutes from we went out of our hotel room to we arrived to centre. We also went quite often to the magnificent beaches at Barceloneta which took us 30 minutes in average using the Metro. We also took taxis which costed 8 Euros and it took 10-.15 minutes depending on traffic. We would recommend this hotel to others as long as you are able to walk and don't mind walking to and using the metro as main transport. The rooms were very nice and reminded of the suites at hotel tamanaco in caracas in venezuela. Les mer

Bra beliggenhet rett ved metroen, gangavstand til La Rambla. Litt mer trafikkstøy fra veien utenfor enn vi hadde regnet med, men med god lydisolering i vinduene/dørene var ikke det noe problem. Flott hotell, gjennomført stil overalt. Anbefales virkelig!

Flott hotel med bra beliggenhet. Metro rett ved, 2 stopp så var man på Placa de Catalonya. Svært god standard på hotellet. Store moderne rom og veldig fint bad. Nydelig frokost, anbefales virkelig! Fint å sitte på takterrassen om kvelden etter en lang dag. Det er også egen restaurant på hotellet med god mat dersom man ikke ønsker å gå ut og spise, de […] serverer både lunsj og middag. "An attractive boutique hotel in a good location"
Excellent customer service and friendly, helpful staff. The b'fast buffet is a tasty, good deal. Take advantage of it because there is not much close by for breakfast. The only oddity is that there was no bar soap, only body wash but no wash cloth.?? Easily remedied for $0.75 at the corner store. Quiet location is close to subway (1block), Plaza d'Espana […] (4 blocks) and far enough away from Las Ramblas to be quiet but not inconvenient. Highly recommended. Les mer

"Would definitley stay again, but . . ."
Here are the pros and the cons: 1. The staff at the reception desk is great! Xavier was super nice and gave us great advise on restaurants and such. 2. rooms were very modern and comfortable with everything you need except wash clothes. 3. The breakfast in the morning was very good and reasonably priced. The only problem is that the location where they […] have it set up is cramped and difficult to maneuver. 4. The lobby is very cool and trendy and they have nightly entertainment. But, there is an OVERPOWERING smell of candles of perfume or something that makes it impossible to stay for too long without getting a headache. The 4 of us who stayed all agreed on this point. Bottom Line: if they provided wash clothes, moved the breakfast to a more convenient location and got rid of the overpowering perfume in the lobby- it would be a definite 5 star rating. Les mer

"Nice atmosphere & close to transportation"
We had a very nice stay here. My only complaint is that the bed was a little hard and we could not control the tempature from our room. It was clean and in a good location. Easy to get to from the airport. There is a air bus that gets you just couple blocks away from the hotel in 25 minutes. There are resturants and cafes nearby. And several subway […] stops as well. "Hotel Villa Emilia - great location"
Great location - right on the doorstep of the Rocafort metro, and only 4 blocks away from the Urgell Aerobus stop. One metro stop away from Placa Espanya to take the R5 train to Montserrat. Very comfortable room, great housekeeping, and very nice small little cafes around the hotel to get breakfast, snacks, tapas, or just a good coffee!

Very cute and nice hotel! Slept great on the bed. Nice breakfast and good coffee. Close to a metro stop and between a two centers so great to see the city. They go alitlle heavy on the smells. Think it is their products they sell (lotions, candles etc) but can be alittle overwhelming though isnt a horrible smell. Only in the hallway and entry really […] though. "Hotel Villa Emilia - Simply the best"
Stayed here for 3 nights recently in August and must say that the hotel is simply the best. Right from check-in the staff looked after us. The room was spotless and very comfortable. I will definitely use this hotel again when we visit Barcelona in the future. Highly recommended.

Hotel Villa Emilia is a chic, conveniently located small hotel one block from the metro station. Everybody at the front desk was very nice. Excellent bakery a few doors down to have fresh squeezed orange juice and a french roll for breakfast.

It is a great hotel, well placed for sightseeing in Barcelona. The room is a good size, with a modern bathroom and comfy bed. The hotel staff is somewhat rude but otherwise it's good value.

"Beautiful Hotel"
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Emilia. It is stunningly beautiful, chic, hip and very clean. We were delighted to learn that they offer free coffee, tea and croissants everyday at 4pm to hotel guests. It's a nice touch. It is also very close to the Aerobus which takes you to the airport for only 5,30euros. A cab would cost 30euros. We stayed here only […] one night before returning home. Had we stayed in La Rambla for the last night, getting to the airport would have been much more of a hassle. There were only two negatives: 1) The Eixample neighborhood is probably not our favorite. It's close to Placa de Espana which is great, but the surrounding neighborhood was not what we were looking for. We enjoyed La Rambla much more. 2) There was a fragrance used in the cleaning solution which smelled great but was so overwhelming we had to open the windows to stop coughing. The hotel was minutes away from the train station, was clean, staff was very accomodating. Best feature was the top floor terrace only wish they had heated lamps so that we could have stayed out longer.

We found the Hotel Villa Emilia pretty easy as we got a taxi from the aiport shared with 2 others. Price was 21 euro. At the hotel check in was very simple and staff friendly. The hotel was very nice inside but when we got to our room there was a smell of fish in our room the whole duration of our stay. I dunno if someone had been eating fish before […] we arrived but once inside the smell went and we didn't bother saying to any staff about this. The hotel is located very close to the metro station but what we found was sometimes you can come out a different exit a couple of streets up and at night all the streets look very similar but we always found our hotel :) The hotel is also located very close to playa del espanya (approx 10 min walk) and the other direction about 20 min walk to playa del cataluna. The food in the hotel we ordered 1 of our nights stay was pretty expensive and drinks expensive to (10 euro for a vodka) Also the food when arrived was very small portions but was ok to eat. We never ate back in the hotel after that as there is many other eating places close by including some nice pizza places. There is a few supermarkets located close at hand also. There is many things to do in Barcelona, A good idea is to do the bus tour which brings you to a lot of the tourist destanations. We done the camp nou tour and also there is a stop were you can get on cable cars which was pretty good fun. There is also discounts for some of these attraction included in the book once you buy a ticket for the bus tour. Les mer

"Great Hotel - a tich out of the way"
Similiar to other reviews, we found the hotel to be really nice. Cool place, good room, really nice helpful staff, great little bar on the roof. It's only fault was that it's not in one of the coolest neighborhoods. The neighborhood it's in is safe and it's only a block to a really nice subway system, so you can't complain that much. And it's not too […] loud at night because the neighborhood is more subdued. Parking was fine. It's like 19E a day at garage nearby. Staff was outstanding. From a no surprise check-in and check-out; to wonderful recos on where to see, eat, and shop; to a manager literally accompanying me to a ATM machine to help me figure out how to print my soccer tickets. The Hotel Villa Emilia is in a quite neighborhood very close to the metro. My husband and I rented bikes and the hotel staff let us keep them in the basement garage at night. That was awesome. If you want to be away from the tourists this classy chic hotel is the place to be. The hotel was super clean and smelled like a spa.

Great experience, highly reccomended and will return there on my next visit to Barcelona. Location was great, one block from the subway, the buses and taxis. Many restaurants and a great convenience store in a 1 block radius. The room was big, very sophisticated decor with gorgeous hardwood floors, had strong A/C, and a fancy washroom. The rooftop patio/bar-lounge […] was a great cap to our nights, and the barstaff recommended a beach outside of Barcelona that was the highlight of our stay (Tossa del Mar). The hotel was quiet, maybe 10 suites per floor, and guests were mostly mature (not geriatric). At 28 we were visibly the youngest couple there. Did not try any in-house meals so no input there. I can't think of one thing i didn't like. Not a busy nightlife area but we weren't there for that. Les mer

"Hotel Villa Emilia - Warm welcome"
We stayed 4 nights in June at Hotel Villa Emilia. Ana and the rest of the staff were very friendly and warm. The hotel is closer to the city center, but in a nice neighborhood, so you feel like you live there. Grocery stores are nearby, and there's a refrigerator in the room so we got some water, wine and snacks. We ate lunch at the Restaurant Pazo […] our first day and had the best fries we'd ever had! Luna is even closer and they had some really good hamburgers. We did eat tapas while in Spain too but we loved the location of the hotel. The metro stop Rocafort is just down the block (exit the station at the Calabria end, toward Diputacio. Room was clean and the hotel smelled pleasant. The only complaint we'd have about the room was the bed was a little firm for our taste. No shower door so it's a little tricky not to get the bathroom floor wet. If you have electronics, remember to bring your converter and an extender. We didn't get the extender at home and when we arrived we spent half a day at the mall looking for something that would work. The outlets are recessed into the wall so our converter from home would not reach into the plugs. The front desk does have some supplies but not what we needed. Every day from 5 - 7 the hotel hosted a coffee break with pastries and really good coffee. It was a welcome pick me up particularly for adjusting to the time difference. Barcelona is a lovely place and the metro is modern and clean - but beware of pickpockets! Les mer

"Great Hotel Accomodations"
The hotel room we had on both of our stays (before and after a cruise) was beautiful and the staff was helpful in providing directions to the area. It is located in a nice neighborhood with small, quaint restaurants nearby. We highly recommend this hotel.

A great place to stay. Nice staff, central location, try the roof after 6:00 pm for drinks and horderves. Quiet rooms except that on Saturday night there must have been a neighborhood Disco that was faintly heard in our room.I will stay there again whenever I visit Barcellona.

Lobby is gorgeous. Restaurant is so good it draws locals from the neighborhood. Able to dine on the rooftop terrace - also beautiful. Room was very nice. Comfortable and clean. Only potential negative is that it is a 7-10 minute walk minimum to any of the sites. Most are further away. "WILL be going back to Villa Emilia"
I celebrated my birthday with friends at this Hotel. It is probably the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in, the staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you, the Hotel is spotless. The Breakfast was reasonably priced for what you got or you can go next door for a pastry and coffee. Free refreshments and pastries were served between 5pm […] and 7pm. This hotel is set in the ideal location, 15mins walk to La Rambla or 5 euros in a taxi. If you dont want the hustle and bustle of the nightlife, just around the corner are little bars where you watch the world go by. The Roof Terrace was stunning, we enjoyed relaxing with a nightcap on there. The rooms are soundproof so you cannot hear any traffic or other guests. Black out curtains and a very comfortable bed made this stay more pleasurable, I will be going back to this hotel. Les mer
"Very Nice Hotel - Central Location"
We loved the Hotel Emilia. We had a room on the "first" floor which was nice, but it could get noisy from the Piano Bar. Overall, the hotel is nice in a safe neighborhood - about 15/20 minute walk to Las Ramblas.
"Glad we stayed there"
A mile or so from the Ramblas in Barcelona, glad we stayed there. Air conditioining was great, staff helpful when asked. Spotless and efficient. Parking 1/2 block away. Complimentary 5PM coffee and croissants was a nice touch. Contemporary hotel opened in '06.

This was a lovely hotel, the room was spacious, clean and elegantly decorated, it had a real boutique feel to it. There was also a lovely roof top terrace bar. The only gripe was the bathroom door-it didn't close properly and therefore did not provide much privacy! Apart from this we really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect-it was only two […] stops on the metro to most of the tourist areas, and not situated on a busy main road. "Clean and spacious hotel"
We stayed there for three nights. The standard double room was clean, morden and spacious (much bigger than other European contries). Bathroom was morden clean, bright and big as well. However, they do not provide any of the bath slipper and toothbrash set ( I understand that most of the European hotels don't, but if you request, they will provide […] them without any charges). In this case they do not have any even you are willing to pay extra. So it is better to bring your own. Location is good, only short stops from the central tube station on the red line (L1), and less than 45 seconds from the tube station. It has a roor bar on the top, however, we didn't use it but it looked grate and can be a bonus at night if you want a few drinks. Overall, it is a nice hotel. Les mer
