Rodeway Inn & Suites Airport/Cruiseport - Fort Lauderdale

Et veldig rent og greit hotell for et par netter før man drar videre på Florida ferien sin. Kjekt at det lå så nær flyplassen.

Room was clean...bed was comfortable...pickup at airport was almost immediate. Breakfast was adequate, service was pleasant. Transportation to cruise ship was fine. Good value for the money.

We stayed for 2 nights. It was fine, actually better than I had anticipated. The location is good for an early trip to the airport & also good for just exploring the area. We traveled there for departure the next morning. Located in busy area and missed it first time by. Would be great if landmarks to location were given....ie - just before bridge on right or after intersection of Main St & E. Main Street. Over all it was just a room to spend the night. Front desk staff very friendly

My wife and I were on a cruise for 7 nights starting on a Wednesday so we stayed here one day before and for one night after. We were able to get bedrooms on the first floor both times (though building 3 was much nicer than our building 2 room) and the pool and patio area were very relaxing. The attached restaurant also has very good food and has a […] buy one get one free happy hour. The only down side for us was that the AC would kick in and the fan was so loud it would wake us up, although that is an issue I've had with many places I've stayed. We stayed for 2 nights pre-cruise and also booked the day rate for post cruise. It suited our needs, but really isn't near anything. We did have a meal at their restaurant, and it was good. This was an awesome stay, they were so organized and the shuttle service was made so easy by the staff, they made simple what other hotels just say be here at this time, they personally take care of each person

Our family arrived with two flights, and our daughter that came from Oslo-Zurich-Toronto to Ft. Lauderdale did not get her luggage. Since we were going on a cruise with RCCL the day after, her luggage would not catch up with us here. Izzy at Rodeway arrangede for transportation to Sawgrass Mill mall where our daughter had to speedshop all important […] items from underwear/bikini to dress to formal night at day two in just under 3 hours. This hotel is a good deal for the money, if you need to stay a night or two because of your flight/cruise schedule. My room was clean, bed was comfortable. S.L.

My family and I stayed at this hotel pre and post cruise recently. This hotel offers a clean room, friendly staff, free shuttle service to/from the airport and to/from the cruise pier, as well as a free continental breakfast. This is good place to stay for the budget-minded traveler. From my research there are other places to stay that offer similar […] amenities and a higher star rating but also at a much higher price. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a sports grill and bar on premises that serves good food at reasonable prices. It was a great place to eat without having to take a cab to another restaurant. Again we found this hotel to be great place to stay at reasonable prices if you are on your way to a cruise or returning from a cruise. If we cruise out of Fort Lauderdale again we would not hesitate to stay here again. Les mer

We used the Rodeway for a one night stay pre-cruise. We had a very satisfactory stay, staff were very helpful. I would make use of the early 'to port transportation' - rate was only $2.00 per person.

Great place, close to airport & cruiseport, plus you can leave your car there. The only difficulty was the van size & number of people waiting for rides from the airport. It can be a VERY lengthy wait, but they will eventually come get you. Very quick accessability to ships. We stayed just one night due to an overnight delay between flights. The hotel staff were great, shuttle service prompt both on arrival and departure. The room appeared recently renovated, nicely decorated, very clean. Comfortable mattress and good quality bedding. A-C, coffee pot and wireless internet in the room. Breakfast which was included was fine, […] continental but also with option for boiled eggs, waffles. We ate dinner in the restaurant, average bar & grill fare for reasonable prices. I would absolutely stay here again, have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Good value. Les mer

While an older facility it has been updated. Next time we will request a main floor room as there are no elevators for the second floor. The staff are very helpful. The rooms are clean and updated. They have wonderful service to the airport and cruiseport. They will also arrange to pick up at the cruiseport and take you directly to the airport for $10.00 […] per person. Rooms quite dated but clean, no elevator to second floor, surrounding neighborhood felt safe but no shopping, hotel staff quite helpful, hotel location very close to airport, cruiseport and water taxi, could get to shopping areas on water taxi, shuttle service is very good (called the hotel number on arrival in airport and cruiseport and they were there […] quickly), sports bar & restaurant had some extremely slow & poor servers, there is another restaurant next door to this hotel to try. Slow access to free shuttle.Hotel can be called from airport courtesy phone but not from hotels board. Beds comfortable but floor not clean. Quiet. Breakfast basic but ok. Would stay again at right price but only for brief overnight stay on way to airport or cruiseport

This hotel was not too bad, considering the price. The attracting feature was the free shuttle to and from the airport and cruise terminal in Ft Lauderdale. Now one must define "fee." Whenever you get into the shuttle van there is a sign posted with a SUGGESTED MINIMUM TIP OF $3.00 PER PERSON--and the driver is more than ready with an extended hand. […] Also--if you believe the PR guy at the hotel and want to get on the ship early, you must pay. In reality, you can still only get on board the ship at noon at the earliest. If you get off the ship early plan on waiting about an hour standing in the middle of the parking lot for the van from the hotel. If you get to the hotel before 3:00 pm checkin time, be ready to pay EXTRA for an upgraded room (seems they are the only ones available, not the room you booked). Oh, yes, don't plan on getting a shuttle to the airport on cruise days (and you are supposed to know which ones they are!) unless you are leaving the hotel before 8:30 am or later than 12:30 pm. Seems they can't run both "free" shuttles at the same time. We saw shuttles, running regularly from other hotels while waiting at the cruise terminal. These hotels will be our first choice next time. This place was just a nightmare. My wife and I stayed there before and after our cruise. It seems that they can only get a grip on things when there at about 20% capacity. Anything more and they fall to pieces. We had to wait 2.5 hours to be picked up from the cruise terminals. The manager, Izzie, kept complaining that there were eight ships in that […] day but this is their business. Shouldn't they be ready for that? If they know there are 8 ships in (and ours was the only one in at the time I called for a shuttle), shouldn't they have more shuttles ready? If they didn't know that there would be 8 ships in that day then how are they running their business? If your business is based on cruise passengers, you'd think they'd know what's happening when and prepare for it. In any case, they had us waiting for 2.5 hours at Port Everglades then another 3.5 hours to check in. We had a deluxe room rented but they were only giving the deluxe rooms that were ready to people willing to pay to upgrade from the standard rooms. Check in and check out took a ridiculously long time and the shuttle drivers had the same bad attitude as the manager. Showing up late and expecting a tip. Save your vacation and go somewhere else. We stayed here on Feb. 19, 2012 after our cruise. We just wanted somewher to rest before our early flight the next morning. This is not a 5-star, but it offers a decent room at a great rate. We selected this hotel as it was convenient to both the airport and the cruise terminal with free shuttle service provided to both. The hotel is an older building and the decor is slightly dated. However the rooms are clean and comfortable. The air conditioning is noisy, but you become used to it. Although it offers shuttle service from the airport, […] after 2 phone calls and over an hour wait, we finally took a cab ($20 with tip). On arrival it was busy at the desk with only 2 clerks and multiple people trying to check in at the same time. So a 30 min wait to get our room (and a brief apology re: the shuttle). Perhaps it was bad timing regarding the shuttle, as after that we did find the staff courteous and professional at all times. A continental breakfast is included with the room (no bacon or hot eggs, but cereals, cold boiled eggs, make your own waffles, etc) so that was a small cost savings. The hotel is somewhat isolated so there is only the bar&grill or the restaurant in the neighbouring hotel if you don't have a car. A major kudo is that our cruise was delayed on our departure date. The hotel offered all guests an extended stay (until 2 pm) at no charge to accommodate our comfort until we were permitted to board. The shuttle service to the cruise port was efficient and courteous. Overall, it offers simple comfort at a very reasonable price. Although I would not recommend it for an extended stay, it is definitely worth considering if you are on a one or two night stop over going to/from a cruise. Les mer

My wife and I thought that the service at the check in was a bit slow and done by inexperienced people. They were friendly and helpful after we told them we were not happy with the motel outside room , close to a truck stop.The staff relocated us to a satisfactory room inside the building.

The room was totally satisfying. Big, clean, etc. I was particularly pleased with the shutte to and from the airport. For an overnight between flights, this place was perfect. And...well priced

We called Rodeway in from the airport; they said the van would arrive in 30 minutes. We called back 35 minutes later and we were told it would be an hour or more, since they had only one van, and thirteen people to pick up ahead of us. We were eventually crammed into a van with an overload of passengers, and waited in line for another 30 minutes to […] check in at the front desk. The hotel food was mediocre and the entertainment (singing) was just plain bad, but there were no other restaurants within walking distance. This place is understaffed and overpriced. Les mer

I was charged twice for this room! When I reserved it in June and then again when I stayed in January, thankfully we caught the mistake and contacted them for a refund but this should not have happened. When I checked in I told them this room was already paid for. Also by reserving it in advance it cost me about $30.00 more than what I was charged in […] January and they would not refund the greater amount of course!!!! Les mer

Stayed just before and just after our cruise. The shuttle service was excellent. The manager of the hotel spent most of the morning on a microphone directing traffic in the lobby. He was rather obnoxious but I guess he was trying to be funny. He kept on pushing that this was a free shuttle service but then made sure you knew how much you should tip […] the driver. It turns out that the tip was probably half the price of a taxi. The rooms were comfortable but the check in process was disorganized with many signatures that they would charge your card $300.00 if there is evidence of smoking in the room. Best to stay in a room where there is carpeting (likely the second floor) because the tile on first floor rooms can be really cold. If you have a lot of luggage you will be stuck lugging them up stairs outside with no elevators. This hotel is the middle of absolute nowhere. If you don't have a vehicle you are at the mercy of a taxi or the expensive shuttle prices to anywhere. You are therefore a captive of the restaurant in the hotel. The food isn't bad and prices are reasonable. The sports bar is a good place for a drink. It's an oasis of the desert location. In summary it's a cheap place to stay pre and post cruise but of course you get what you pay for. Les mer

Very pleased with the service. We arrived by train to Ft Lauderdale and was thrilled to have the shuttle from the hotel pick us up...very unexpected! When we arrived we were super hungry and was happy to find a fun restaurant located right in the hotel. The next morning we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, however do not leave your room without the […] breakfast coupon that the front desk gives you. My husband went to get coffee before we dined for breakfast and was charged $5.00 for 2 cups of coffee...not cool. Other than when we cruise out of Ft Lauderdale again we will stay at this hotel Les mer

I booked two nights at the Rodeway Inn Before and after a Cruise, and I could say I could not have chosen better. The location is very convenient especially when they have shuttles to and from the airport and the cruise port. Rooms both night were clean and bed very comfortable. The staff were very helpfull and we had dinner at the restaurant . again […] when you are tired from a trip it is nice to find a place where you can relax and have a nice dinner without the hassle of leaving the hotel to look for a place to eat.. Convenience and comfort is number one and I found it at the Rodeway Inn. I will recommend it to all especially when you are cruising and with kids, you will have everything at your fingertip. Thank you Rodeway Inn for making my trip with my 10 year old son enjoyable and easy.. See you on my next trip to Fort Lauderdale. As for the price that I paid by booking through hotel.com I still could not believe it, as I did my research and it was the best deal. Les mer

This is probably one of the worst hotels we have stayed at.....very inefficient at the front desk and general poor management
