Ett hotell med sentral beliggenhet, synd det meste av hotellet lukter muggent. Men hva kan man forvente når man har lagt laminat på baderomsgulvet og det er dårlig ventilasjon på rommet. Sengen var også av dårlig kvalitet, tynne madrasser hvor fjærene kjentes og kun ett laken og ett pledd som "dyne". Vi kommer nok ikke til å bo her i fremtiden.

Vi fikk lite rom som det luktet veldig røyk på først. Etter å ha klaget fikk vi først et rom i 5 etg. som ikke var bra, deretter fikk vi et rom i 2.etg. som var OK.

have stayed here on regular basis stayed in different room to last of couple of times and was much better as regards to bathroom facilities , always clean and staff always helpful with requests for any additionhs for room required(could do with sorting out heating system -not working properly but did provide radiator for room but was a little heavy […] to move about (not suitable for elderly people who would have problems with this )- restaurant facilities not so good - supply of food was slow when running out many people here dis-satisfied with this - toasting machine very slow and having to put bread in 2-3 times before browning (the bread they brought out was frozen also )-not many staff on duty to deal with customer requests and were abit sharp in their tone when speaking to customers and staff)-need training regarding cross-contamination(mixed up fruit juices in containers (apple and grapefruit)not good if someone has allergies to such items - (could cause allergice reaction and make them ill) was restricted with seating as part of dining area out of use due to leaking roof but hopefully will be restored soon - other concer if we had difficulty in parking here we used to be able to use faclities at roundhouse down the road but was informed they are now charging customers to park here (feel this is unfair and in brochure in room still states free parking -need this sorting) Les mer

You get what you pay for. Basic room a little on the small side, view from window was of the roof and rooms opposite. The room did have tea and coffee making fascilities, no centre light in the room,so light was from 2 bedside lights and an upright floor standing lamp, so not overly well lit. The room had a tv and en suite bathroom. Lifts were very […] small - could only fit 2 people and their cases in them. The buffet breakfast was good, self service and have as much as you like style. The location was ideal for us, it was near to home, far enough away for a romantic break, we could walk to the beach, and while we were there we attended a function in one of the neighbouring hotels. Just a 20 minute stroll along the beach into the centre of Bournemouth. Free parking at the hotel was good, which we were able to use until 1pm on the day of departure, enabling some shopping to be done, with no parking fees. We did not use the swimming pool, which incurred a few pounds additional charge, the pool looked nice but you had to walk outside to access it, and the building looked a but tired, and glass roof in need of a good clean. Overall it was value for money,with basic rooms,although in need of some modernising and decorating. Les mer

My room , did not have heat, in the winter. Had to use electric heater. It is a 1 star hotel

Staff friendly, hotel lifts poor. Our first room was dusty and had mould on ceiling of bathroom. This obviously had been there ages but no attempt had been made to clean it etc. We asked to be moved which we were to a clean room. It almost seemed as we had got a very cheap deal that we were given a poor room? Anyway room ok, water could have been a […] bit hotter. Breakfast very good, again staff pleasent. 3 out of 5. This hotel should be a 2 not a 3. NO HEAT in the room, was never serviced properly . most of the staff , ok. But not very well trained.

stayed in room as before have made some improvements but could do more(ceiling needs attention) wasnt happy with overall facilities in restaurant(have been better in past ! kept running out of lots of things(not checking enough)CUSTOMERS HAD TO KEEP ASKING ! Very friendly staff, bathroom was not very clean(hair in the hand basin) Breakfast was very good for inclusive in the price. Very cheap room so should not expect a WOW room. Did upgrade our room for free to a little bigger room which was very nice of them...! Thanks

The bedroom had one british plug socket so could not charge phone, non working wi fi so could not do my work. Towels soaked with someone else's blood, completely revolting, being woken up with knocks on the door at 3, 4 & 5:30 am The place should be shut down for as it its not fit for members of the public to stay. An excellent location only a few hundred metres to the beach,the room was basic but that was fine,extremely small lift and found the hotel including our room very hot,we had the windows open and a fan on all night,breakfast was good with plenty of choice,overall a good budget hotel for a short stay.

Booked last minute for a night in Bournemouth. Hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood so that is good for families and people who want to sleep. Very close to beach, about 5 min walk. Nice heated indoor pool as well. Hotel was a little old but perfect for a nights sleep and to get changed during the day. Free breakfast was all-you-can-eat, made up of eggs, […] meats, fruits, etc. Well worth it. Would recommend for a night's stay with no frills. Les mer

The hotel's brochure said 'Spacious rooms'. I booked a double bed room, and it was the size of my small garden shed (no exaggeration). The shower was so small, I could touch either side with both my elbows. There was no airconditioning, and the view from the window was of air vents, kitchen extraction fans laundry rooms...nice! we only stayed the one night but we thought the staff were second to none the room was niceley furnished with a newish bathroom suiete +was nice +fresh +clean we had evening entertainment which was good +breakfast buffet in morning very good +fresh overall very good value for money

Room was good, clean etc, Bathroom was a joke. There wasn't anywhere to put your soap in the shower. Shower head wouldn't stay still and sprayed water over the top of the screen. The non slip mat was dirty. The shower door was difficult to open and close. The breakfast bar was maned by just one waiter. We waited 5-10 mins for eggs, mushrooms, plates […] etc. The bar itself was dirty-glass screens smeared and jars of old pasta covered in dust. At the beginning of the summer season we expected the hotel to be spotless and in working order. We had a better experience in a 2 star hotel at half the price the week before. we have stayed at the Britannia twice now, its really well situated for both a walk along the beach or a visit to the shops and restaurants. Always a good breakfast. You get "what you pay for" wit the rooms but they have been clean and comfortable.

We had a standard room which was very, very cramped. OK, we did not pay a lot but it really was a single room with a double bed squeezed in. Up against the wall on one side and about 15 inches on the other. Room overlooked the central service area which was a dirty rubbish strewn site. But-the breakfast was ample-a good choice and plenty of it. Hotel […] is only a short walk from the town centre so is convenient. Car parking is totally inadequate. We parked at a sister hotel, in thei last space, a few minutes walk away-good job the weather was fine. This is a very serious drawback and would make me think very hard about booking again. Having said that, cheerful staff, leave the car at home and book a superior room. Les mer

For the price, this was not a bad choice. The furniture was a bit dated and the TV on the small side, but the location was great, the breakfast was quite good too. Overall we were fairly satisfied with the room, especially considering the price we paid.

Didn´t like it at all. Very old, not that clean. The room was very small. The price is too high for that kind of hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel has some good points; it's close to the beach and walking distance to town centre . Nice to have the option of continental breakfast served in the room, and clean towels provided each day, as well as generous supply of tea/coffee and biscuits in the room. BUT; no heat in the room at the end of October and a TV […] that malfunctioned ( only 3 channels and that was on a good day) and it changed channels"by itself". Situation didnt improve after staff were informed. Breakfast in the dining room resembles a rugby scrum...... Also beware if you want to pay for anything with a credit/debit card; they charge a large fee for each transaction!!! Les mer

On first impressions i was not impressed with this hotel. The car park is ridiculous, so small and no spaces available. We had to park at a neighbouring hotel 5 minutes down the road and then carry our luggage back in the pouring rain. The hotel looked shabby and out dated from the outside. I booked a superior twin room and paid extra for this privalidge […] and was not happy when i was given a standard double. To be fair the room was spotlessly clean and wasnt as bad as i thought it would be but i wasnt happy about not getting what i paid for. I complained to the receptionist who was extremely rude and extremely unhelpful, she told us that there was no availability in the hotel and that we couldnt move rooms despite the fact that id paid extra for a better room. Other than that, this hotel isnt all bad. location is good for nightlife, breakfast was pretty good but i wouldnt stay there again purely because of the rude staff, the room mix up, lack of parking space and the old fashioned decor. As mentioned in other reviews, the bathrooms are TINY. Other than that the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was adequate. There is very little parking at the hotel and you have to find somewere else to park your car which is not very nice if you are unfamiliar with the area. My husband left a small item behind and although they found it […] and agreed to post it to us, they were very grudging about doing it and we had to remind them three times, although we gave a card number to pay for the postage. Needs updating, 2 coach parties in and staff struggled to cope at breakfast. Our mattress needed renewing. Room was a single changed to a double space was limited. Good value for money we paid though.

reception clean,tidy & efficient.lifts only carry 2 people at a time,so very tight getting in with the luggage aswell.room very small but had everything needed.the bathroom was tiny & in great need of a thorough clean.the runners to which the shower screens fit into were full of grime & the tray had somebody elses body hair in it.there was only just […] enough room to get in front of the mirror,you had to wedge yourself between the sink & shower to look directly into the mirror.After using the toilet,you couldnt turn to flush without knocking off the toilet paper holder! there was a layer of dust around the edge of the room.looking out a filthy window was a flat roof covered in cigarette buts and general rubbish.the lounge area was not ventilated and very hot to sit in to which we didnt because we went to get a desent cup of coffee to be told there was a problem with the machine and the only coffee they were serving was the same rubbish that was in the rooms.breakfast was ok apart from the coffee and the sausage was deep fried and very over cooked! clearly nowhere near enough parking for the size of the hotel.as part of the britannia group we presumed this hotel would be to a lot higher standard than it was.we love bournemouth but hated this hotel!!! The hotel is very convenient to all attractions Bournemouth has to offer. You can park your car at the hotel and then forget about it - eliminating parking fees. The staff are friendly. My only issue was the cleanliness in the dining room. I picked up a "clean" cup and it still had coffee marks on it. I picked up a "clean" glass and found lipstick marks […] on it. The Britannia Hotel was a convenient place to stay in Bournemouth. Disabled parking is very sparse as is the parking in general. The staff are polite and welcoming. The basic room was small but adequate. The breakfast is good. The swimming pool is small with some areas needing attention and updating What lets this hotel down is the cleanliness and tired […] deco, because we used the swimming pool we had showers there, we would not have used the shower in the room as the shower head was caked with yellow/green muck, and the shower base had areas of black both on the inside and out side also the tiles had black on the grout The cubicle was very small with a small opening and higher than other hotel showers to step up into with no hand rail. It was a pity as the rest of the bathroom was ok, other than not having a place to hang your towel. Les mer

The only problem we had was we booked a twin room and got given a double but within a short time this was put right

the hotel is ok, clean and tidy, can´t complain. Only two samll problems: car park, is not enough room for all the vehicles, I had to park on the street one night. And toilet, it is extremelly small. Besides that, the hotel is great

nice hotel located in an excellent spot

We stayed 5-days B&B at special offer rate. Couldn't fault the staff who were attentive and courteous, breakfasts were more than adequate and the swimming pool and jacouzzi were great. Room was basic and satisfactory but a bit dusty around the edges. Good location near to East Cliff Lift. At least a 10 minute walk into town but not difficult if […] you are fit. Les mer

The Good Points: Great location, with in walking distance of the beach, town centre and the B.I.C. Bad Points: The whole hotel needs a good update, the rooms lack any kind of impressive features, with the portable tv with "satalite" tv, which consisten of 1-5 then maybe 2 other chanels if your lucky, the bed didnt even have a duvet, just a top sheet […] and a blanket!?!?! tired looking carpet and decoration thoughout. the bathroom looked as if it had been redone in the past few years but you were only able to get a warm shower that wasnt very powerfull, but could get a hot bath due to the stupid restriction on the temp control for the shower. This place is more for people above the age of 45. it is a good place to meet the older generation but not a good place if you are here to have fun. House keeping come knock at the door before 9am! but this place is good if you want to head straight to the beach which is 5minutes walk down the cliff.

great location close to everything, male receptionest not very friendly or helpful on arrival our room was very clean but in need of updating the biggest downfall was the bed it had had its life very uncomfortable. fantastic breakfast, and very reasonable priced bar snacks, Hotel overall was excellent value for money

J'ai passé 5 nuits dans cette hôtel et dés mon arrivés, j'ai été très déçu par la qualité de celui-ci. En effet, j'avais réservé une chambre double mais on m'a donné une chambre minuscule où il était impossible de circuler (j'ai la forte impression qu'on m'a donné une chambre simple avec un lit de 120cm à l'intérieur...). En plus de cela les moquettes […] étaient très sales et il y avait des traces d'humidité au plafond. Après avoir changer de chambre je me suis rendu compte que l'autre était tout aussi sale. Le service m'a également mis en colère, en effet, après avoir demandé des serviettes à l'accueil de l'hôtel (car elles n'avaient pas été changés), ils se sont permis de les poser sur le sol devant la porte ... De même, nous avons demandé à ce qu'on nous change les draps après 3 jours car ça n'avait pas encore été fait et ils n'ont changé que le draps du dessus Au niveau du petit déjeuner, mieux vaut venir très tôt si vous voulez bénéficier de plus de choix. Les employés sont en permanence débordés et vous devez parfois attendre 20 minutes pour avoir une table prête. En ce qui concerne la connexion Internet, heureusement qu'elle était gratuite car elle est quasiment inexistante. Je me permet donc de déconseillé fortement cet hôtel au vue de ses prestations lamentables ... Il existe pour le même prix à Bournemouth de nombreux hôtels où le service et la propreté sont nettement supérieurs. Je pensais qu'en passant par une chaîne d'hôtel tel que Britania je n'aurai aucun problème de ce genre mais je me suis visiblement trompé !! Mis à part ces désagréments, je suis complètement satisfait d'être passé par le site hotels.com pour réserver car je n'ai eu aucun problème. Les mer
