"Street and road noise is intolerable. F-."
Noise ruins what would otherwise be a great hotel to stay in. If, like me, you are unlucky enough to be put in a room facing College Avenue -- get ready for a sleepless night. You will hear every passerby's plainly spoken conversation, not to mention the screaming, hooting droves of college drunkards at all hours. The road noise for regular traffic […] is so loud that you might as well be lying in the street with it. Throw in the frequent unmuffled motorcycles, modified-exhaust heaps and large diesels and you're sure to have a completely sleepless night. To be absolutely certain that you will catch nary a wink, you'll also hear every foot shuffle, sigh, door latch, and flatulation coming from the hallway. For the noise issues alone, I simply could not recommend this hotel less. You may as well roll out a sleeping bag on the curb and sleep there. Awful. F-. Les mer
Being in a downtown enviroment has both benefits and drawbacks. Bloomington is an extremely walkable city with shops, nightlife, great restaurants and the B-Line trail all nearby. For a lighter sleeper we suggest one of our interior rooms or one of the rooms on our higher floors.

"Second time they stuck me in a smoking room"
I really like this Hotel. However, I have twice booked non-smoking rooms and then been stuck in a smoking rooms that smell like 50 year old ash trays. One booking was done on Hotels.com and the other direct with the Hotel. I arrived for check-ins each time only to find that the only room left was smoking. With no other options I had to stay. Currently the hotel does have 4 smoking rooms, however as of July 1, 2012 the Hilton Garden Inn Bloomington, IN will be 100% non-smoking.

"NICE"
Nice clean room, connected to nice restaurant called Couches. Downtown convenience. Told them it was our ten year wedding anniversary and they sent up complimentary chocolate covered strawberries and champagne with wine glasses and a nice card. We was surprised and happy! I will diffidently stay there again.

I love Hilton Garden Inns and this one was a great one, but if you are looking for any quietness at night, you might not enjoy your stay as much. Great location, friendly staff.

The hotel is in good condition and clean and the staff friendly and attentive. I did not have the breakfast. The $5 parking charge per night is annoying but not a lot of money. Close to good restaurants, a running path, bars, shopping. Have been staying at the Marriott, but from now on it's the Hilton.

Perfect spot for University and to see the city. Great service with one exception, I called ahead 4 days in advance and asked for the top floor and I wound up with the 4th of 6 floors.

One night stay, clean, comfy, nice garage to park the car. Hotel staff very friendly. Did'nt need the intoxicated man nocking on our door at 3 am but thats not the hotels fault. He went on his way without a problem.
The hotel was nice-conveniently located to many restaurants and close to IU campus. I do wish for the price that breakfast would have been included-as that is the norm for American hotels. But overall, would recommend staying here if you are visiting IU campus.

When you walk out the door of the Hilton you can shop till you drop, eat MANY different foods from all the restraunts to choose from or just roam. Everything is right there!!!! The Buffet Breakfast they have is very good, lots to choose from!! Highly recommend

While there are a lot of good things to say about this hotel, the location is absolutely perfect. For a town like Bloomington, being able to park the car and not have to drive again is a luxury.

We were very pleased with our stay at he Hilton Garden Inn. Everything was great and would stay there again. The staff was pleasant.

The hotel was nice, the location was even better but the noise was HORRIBLE! We were on the second floor next to the street and we could hear everything. "HIlton Garden Inn Bloomington perfect for IU visit"
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, Bloomington Indiana during a college visit for my daughter and it was very convenient, parking was easy and if it wasn't raining, we would have been able to walk to campus.
"Middle Aged Hotel Could Use a Freshening Up"
OK, not every hotel is fresh and new. However, as a regular traveler, I expect a certain baseline of "new" in any hotel bearing the Hilton name. This hotel is ok, not great, not bad, not embarassing, just ok. The bed was comfortable. The location is pretty good, especially when you consider the convenience of the attached parking deck.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly, the room was clean and neat, and the beds were comfortable. For the most part, the breakfast buffet was good. On both mornings that we ate there, the fried potatoes and waffles were somewhat dry. Having our eggs made to order was a nice touch, and the cook and food servers were very friendly and responsive. Very nice well appointed hotel, front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Easy access to all downtown amenities. We were in a front facing room, 4th floor which was had a lot of street noise. But everything else was great.

"Great Hotel..."
The Hilton Garden is a super comfortable hotel and very easy to get to by car or foot. The only thing I wish they could work out is getting in and out of the parking garage! I've stayed there about 8 times and I have yet to get out (or in) the parking garage without having to call for help! Other than that, great place!

Adequate hotel, good location in center of town; good breakfas; adjacent to parking garage. One negative: I was initially put up at the top floor of the hotel, and was kept awake by the humming sounds of the outside AC units, apparently located on top of the hotel. A move to a lower floor solved the problem.
