Kantary Bay Hotel, Phuket - Phuket

Veldig fornøyd med oppholdet! Renslig, vennlig betjening, kjempegod og variert frokost. Hadde bestillt to netter gjennom "Hotells.com" før jeg dro, forlenget oppholdet m 5 netter til. Det eneste negative var kanskje beliggenheten av hotellet, ganske langt unna sentrum, ca 25 min med drosje en vei.

We stayed at both the Cape Panwa and Kantaray Bay hotels during our stay in Phuket. Kantary Bay is a little dated in the rooms but the pool was lovely and you can use all facilities at the Cape Panwa. The staff at Kantaray Bay were definately the best of the two hotels and I could not fault thier service.

Set on the tip of Cape Panwa, yet close to Phuket City, this hotel affords the opportunity for a luxurious stay away from the rat race that is Patong. Even better, it is associated with Cape Panwa Resort and guests of the Kantary Bay Hotel can use the resorts facilities for free including their private beach. If your room is close enough to the public […] areas you can also get WI-FI for free, which was a great plus. The staff bent over backwards to be helpful and the free breakfast is limitless, good for fuelling up for a long days adventure touring the rest of Phuket. One minor warning, as Cape Panwa primarily caters to tourists, it is a little more expensive than some parts of Phuket, especially when it comes to bars and restaurants. Let's just start with our overall judgement: we enjoyed our (4-night) stay here. The hotel is in a nice, quiet position and the rooftop pool is fantastic. The rooms are OK - but they vary quite a bit, even in what is supposed to be the same category. Our studio had a rather different (and less appealing) layout than others and the balcony was absolutely […] tiny. However, on walking around the different wings we encountered other rooms which appeared a lot worse than ours (especially in terms of position/light). We had the impression that guests staying for longer periods were given better rooms. Not an unreasonable or unexpected business practice, perhaps, but worth keeping in mind if you are staying for only a relatively short period. We were also not impressed by the fact that there are staff telephones in the corridors throughout the hotel and that they were being used extensively at all hours. The first morning - after arriving completely jet-lagged - we were woken at 6:38 by the phone on our floor (directly by our door). It kept on ringing on and off for the next two hours. We complained and did not hear the phones before 8:30 after that, but still found the constant noise a nuisance. We were also disappointed by the breakfast: very poor selection/quality of fruit and stewed tea which we often found completely undrinkable. On the plus side, you are able to use the excellent facilities of the neighbouring Cape Panwa Hotel and the staff are genuinely very friendly. Les mer

The friendly and thoughtful Staff at Kantary Bay made all the difference. They were helpful and always had a smile on their face! They even brought me surprise birthday cake for my birthday! The spa at their sister hotel was the highlight - one of the best spa experiences I've ever had. The only 2 begnin noteworthy points are: the beach at the sister […] resort although beautiful was much smaller than I expected. The resort also seems to attract seniors and families - so may be a bit boring if a mid-20s something stays for too many days. The Kantary is just next door to the much more expensive Cape Panawan Hotel that I was originally considering. They have shuttles every 20 minutes to bring you to the Cape Panawan to use the beach, restaurant and other facilities there. The Kantary on it's own is just fine. Very nice location' quiet with private beach and some local restaurants around the area. Just 7 km from Phuket-Town and about 40 min. drive from airport.

Fabulous room - spacious and what a fantastic view:) We loved every minute of the experience of the room, the restaurants both in and around the hotel and everyone was amazing. It rained nearly every day and some scary storms at night - all adding to the adventure. It was very quiet - exactly what we were looking for. Had a driver for the day 400bht […] (about $16 AUD)one day and explored a bit - loved the elephant ride and the temple - walked to the waterfall another day - an easy 45min stroll (few hills but that was OK) and stopped for coffee when the weather closed in. Had suits made at Barry London - over the hill towards the sister Hotel Cape Panwa. Love them. We walked most days to Cape Panwa for a little exercise and to laze at the waters edge with the palm trees, hermit crabs and the tame wild monkey. There is a regular tuk tuk for those who dont want to walk.We loved friday steak buffet night at Cape Panwa (720bht) and teh live music that my husband and I loved having a dance to. Another favourite was Sea Breeze - just outside the hotel and slightly up the hill- authentic Thai food very cheap. For those who need a 'real coffee' there is a lovely place again just outside the hotel. The staff were amazing - not sure how they remember everyone's names and my husband was completely thrilled to recieve birthday greetings and a personalised message on a cake for his birthday! Kantary bay hotel in Cape Phanwa which is a quite laid back region away from crowds and noise of pot pong or Phuket town. It's got a nice view. But hotel is old and looks dated. Overall it's well maintained. Staff are very attentive and service is excellent. My wife and I spent 3 nights here over the Easter weekend. Location: Quiet and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle, perfect for those who want a place to relax on the beach or by one of the many pools they have. Room: Clean and spacious (we stayed in a one-bedroom suite next to the pool). Customer service: Very warm, friendly and attentive. […] In particular, I would like to commend Jean Marie (not sure if I spelled his name right) for being really friendly and warm. He had served us when we had lunch at the Bamboo Bar on the beach, and when he bumped into us later that day--not once, but twice--he remembered us, gave us a friendly smile, and said hi. Facilities: Full use of the facilities at the more expensive sister hotel, Cape Panwa hotel, just next door and a short 10-min ride away by the free hotel shuttle. Dining: We love Thai food, so that is all we had. Besides the restaurants in the hotel, there are several options along the street just outside. Not cheap by Thai standards, but still quite affordable. A typical Thai meal for us (3 dishes, 2 plates of rice, and 2 juices or shakes) cost about 500 baht. Laem Panwa (Thai & Seafood) was pretty good, Sawasdee Restaurant (Thai) was not quite as good, and our favorite was Keang Lay Restaurant--slightly cheaper, but still as good. Transportation: The hotel provides transportation to/from the hotel for 1,000 baht, one-way and to/from Phuket town for 160 baht for a round trip. We took a taxi from the airport for 800 baht. The lady at the taxi counter wanted to charge 1,200 baht! There is also a metered taxi counter (turn right as you come out of the airport) but we did not know of this. The return trip was more expensive--the man at the taxi stand outside the hotel would not budge from his price of 900 baht. We were very satisfied with our stay. The rooms are large and comfortable, good beds and nice view over the sea. The large refrigerator only hold 2 small water, not convenient when you arrive late and want something to drink. When I call room service it took 45 minute to get a small dish and when I order 2 beer they arrive both opened! The food was very small portions and not tasty, -served […] in plastic! Pretty nice overall but short of a four star property. Our room specifically was dated especially the bathroom. the staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't ask for a bell hop but one showed up at our door to help with our bags at 6am. They also prepared a to go breakfast as we left before they opened. Great view from the rooms. There are alot of English older couples who stay here for 1 or 2 months. I was with my 19 year old daughter who was in Thailand for awhile. This is a great place if you want to stay away from noise and the red light districts. It was very quite at night and during the morning hours. I was up alot because of Jet Lag. There are some rosters that crow […] early behind the hotel, that was the only noise. Plenty of resturants close and there is a little night market on the ocean front. The beach at the other hotel is ok, not great. There are shops and massage places going on the shuttle to the main hotel. This is a good place for the money. 800bt each way from the airport for a taxi. You can take the city bus at the Aqurium down the street, to the other beaches very cheap and take a taxi back if you stay late. The Aqurium is worth going through. From Wisconsin Les mer

We stayed at Kantary Bay Hotel for 28 days. During that time we were treated to exceptional service with very warm friendly staff. The facilities with the hotel, along with the facilities available with the sister hotel (Cape Pawna Hotel) were great.

Phuket is a noisy, and very restless island, thus, if you would like to forget it all Kantary Bay is a great hotel to stay. We rented a scooter and could easily explore the island. The great thing about this hotel is that they have an access to a private beach (5mins on a shuttle bus). If you wanna stay at the very very overcrowded beaches of Kata […] or any west beaches go for it, but we really enjoyed our stay at Kantary Bay. We (couple in our early 20s) stayed at the Kantary Bay hotel for 4 nights (too short!) at the end of October and it was nothing short of AMAZING! As mentioned time and time again by other reviewers, this is a little peice of paradise at great value. The good: We were there to celebrate a birthday and with a few emails, Ning assured me that the hotel […] will provide a cake upon arrival. They really lived up to their promise and it was such a sweet surprise and a very memorable birthday. I didn't even have to remind them when checking in, they had it all prepared and waiting in the restaurant fridge. Excellent service! Our one bedroom apartment over looking the pool as well as the ocean and was clean and spacious. There were also 2 air conditioning units, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, keeping the rooms nicely chilled after an entire day out in the hot sun. The rooms were always kept very clean and we were given complimentary bottles of water + coffee and tea. The small kitchenette was also well stocked with proper crockery and cutlery, perfect when we decided to buy food at the push carts just outside the hotels to nosh on back in the comforts of the room. The breakfast spread was standard but very very tasty. They had 6 different sausages and an omelette station as well as a very well stocked bread station (all sorts of tasty pastries). The waiting staff were also very attentive and polite, always filling our empty coffee cups and clearing off unwanted plates very efficiently. We also ate at the Laem Panwa, the seafood place around the corner and had the seafood platter for 2 (super yums!) and at 800 THB, certainly value for money yet again. Even the drinks within the hotel restaurants were not expensive by any means. The Otter bar at the Cape Panwa hotel (sister hotel) had amazing ocean views and sofas you could lounge on for hours on end whilst being serenaded by their resident pianist. This hotel was booked based on previous reviews. I wanted a quiet hotel at reasonable pricing, and this location exceeded expectations. I took a studio with 2 beds and was pleasantly surprised to have a large apartment, with kitchen, separated sleeping, living room area and full bath room with shower and tub. All was very clean, the tile and wood floors […] spotless and cool to walk upon. AC worked very well, and quiet. The staff were very friendly to a person, and after a day or two knew me by sight. Though some renovations going on, not affected by noise or closures at all. We managed to get free wifi connection in room, though only supposed to be available in lobby. Smaller but good pool. The neighbouring property was reached by free shuttle in 4 minutes, which had larger pool and acces to a good beach ( bring water shoes due to stomes and rocks). water here was very clear. Local variety of restaurant fit evey style, mood for food and budget. Also, shttles to Patong Beanch and Phuket for shopping could be arranged for a cost. This is a secluded hotel, away from night life, but very relaxing, clean and friendly and well worth the price. I would return. Les mer

Good value on the special rate deal. The fact that you can use the Cape Panwa dacilities is the real benefit of staying here as it is a third of teh price of the Cape Panwa and only a 5 minute shuttle away. If you are looking for nightlife or to travel around the aisland then it is quite remote here however if you are looking for quiet and romance then […] its as good as any. Conveniently located to Phulet pier for ferries to Ko Phi Phi, Krabi and Ko Lanta - only a 20 minute drive but quite a distance from the airport - circa an hour with traffic delays and a transfer of 1000 baht. Staff are pleasant if you make an effort and breakfast is good. I suggest trying the little restaurant at the front and next door which is very well priced and without the additional service charge and taz add ons. Hope this helps. Les mer

The Kantary Bay Hotel is a bargain for the price. The rooms are spacious, clean and well kept. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only thing this hotel is missing is a beach, however it is onlly a short shuttle ride to the sister property and the beach there is beautiful. The one downfall to Kantary is it is a 15 minute ride into Phuket, and […] you will pay a surcharge on excursions for the additional distance, however it is not a huge amount. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice, clean, relaxing property. Les mer

Vi bodde i ett stort rum med två sovrum och två badrum högst upp med utsikt över bukten nedanför hotellet. Rummet var verkligen väl tilltaget med bra luftkonditionering och en stor balkong. Personalen är väldigt trevlig och tillmötesgående på detta hotell och väldigt barnkära. Det tar cirka 5 minuter till grannhotellet där det finns en fin strand så […] det upplevde vi inte som nåt problem då det finns en grattisbuss som åker mellan hotellen. 整体酒店的感觉很好，她是依据海湾山丘而设计，高高低低的大道，还好有专门车接送，分别CAPEPANWA到KANTRARY，她们是酒店群。里面所有的设施都可以用：健身房，私人海滩，酒店小缆车，SPA和餐馆就得付钱了，不够可以记帐到房号上。在出酒店的路上有很多按摩和SPA的店，虽然比BaTong和Karon的路边店贵100泰铢，但是她们手法确实好很多，呆了三晚，我们就去了两次！我们觉得她的私人沙滩和码头很赞，如果想浮潜看鱼，这边是不错的选择，重点是鱼比人多，水清又免费，还有很多惊奇发现。 这里适合休闲式的度假，尽量享受里面的设施，觉得在这举行婚礼也是不错的选择。下次还得再来！

Dejlig hotel fantastik personale pragtfuld have gratis bus til hotel cape panva hvor der er solsenge helt ned til havet . Vi følge os rigtig velkommen , også når vi gik aftentur , strandpromenaden hvor de lokale sad og hyggede sig .

La chose marquante de cet hotel est la qualité de service mais surtout la gentillesse et disponibilité de son personnel. L'hotel est déjà d'un bon niveau surtout pour le prix, mais le grand plus est qu'il est jumélé avec un autre hotel qui fait partie du groupe, une navette nous y emmène en 5 min, et il s'agit d'un hotel très haut de gamme, des petites […] villas avec piscine y sont disponibles, magnifique. Le seul point noir est aussi cette fameuse navette, car dans le détail de l'hotel on croit que la plage privée est en face de l'hotel mais en réalité elle est dans l'autre hotel, mais franchement ça en vaut vraiment la peine, elle est mignonne comme tout, les transats, parasols et serviettes sont gratuits et le petit bar/snack est super bon et pas très chers. Ce qui peut être aussi dommage, c'est qu'il n ' y pas grand chose dans les environs, si vous voulez vous déplacer ce sera en taxi. Les mer

Hotellissa oli loistava vastaanotto ja erinomainen palvelu heti tultaessa illalla hotelliin. Hyvää liikuntaa saimme, kun teimme noin 10 minuutin kävelymatkan kukkulan yli toiselle puolelle rantaa. Kokonaisuutena olimme erittäin tyytyväisiä hotelliin ja sen palveluihin. Yksi parhaista hotelleista ja lomakohteista, joissa olemme olleet!

L'hotel est très bien entretenu. Propreté irréprochable. Notre chambre était grande et très bien équipée (air co, jacuzzi, taques électriques, four à micro-ondes, boulloire, couverts, ...). Deux jolies piscines. Prix des consommations et des restaurants de l'hôtel très raisonnables. Petit déjeuner très bon et varié. L'hotel se trouve dans une région […] assez calme de l'ile. Il n'y a pas énormément d'activités le soir à distance de marche (quelques restos et petit marché, magasins). Accès à la magnifique plage privée de l'hotel Cape Panwa via une navette gratuite. Je recommande le Kantary Bay à tous ceux qui cherche un endroit magnifique et paisible à Phuket. Les mer

Hotellet var bra. Kantary Bay är ett systerhotell till Cape Panwa som håller ännu högre klass (dyrare) men delar faciliteter med Kantary Bay, såsom restauranger, fin strand, pingis, badminton etc. Internet finns på hotellet, men man är tvungen att logga in varje gång. Bra hotell på alla sätt. Ligger i naturskönt lugnt område. Inte långt från Phuket town, Patong mm om man så vill.Mycket hög klass på service, rumsstandard,frukost mm. En plats att återvända till.
