For a short term stay this was convenient to all sites either by foot or bus. I will warn that if you don't like noise or stairs, this is not the place for you. Our first room was located on the first floor and the road noise was so loud we could not sleep. The second night we changed rooms and were located on the 4 th floor. Bed wasn't very comfortable but everything else was perfect (and for this price you can't expect a fancy bed anyway). Went in late March and didn't need airconditioning. It's a very loud area though so you might want to get an internal unit + aircon if you want to sleep better but the balconies on the externals are pretty sweet. The staff were amazing at this hotel. Very friendly, clean and quiet. Rooms are small, however, if you just want a nice clean place to lay your head at the end of the night, this is a great option.

The rooms were very small but clean. There are no elevators so be prepared for a long climb up to your room. We had a room facing into the courtyard and it was very nice. Good location close to restaurants.

This was my 5th time to stay at the Hotel Belmar. It is always my 1st choice when I travel to Puerto Vallarta. The hotel is immaculately clean, the staff is warm and welcoming. It is very conveniently located, just minutes from all my favorite restaurants, as well as the Malecon and Vallarta's beautiful new pier. I can't say enough good things about […] this hotel. A great place to return to after a long day at the beach. Doesn't have a pool or any of the other aspects of luxury hotels, but it is great for young people (or older folks, too!) who want to experience the true culture of the area. My stay at the Belmar was for 3 weeks and the room was cleaned daily with fresh bedding and towels and always spotless. The bed was hard but typical of Mexico so don't expect more anywhere else. The staff was very friendly and hard working and kept the hotel very clean and tidy each day. The location was great for taxis, buses and a short walk to the […] Malecon. I was able to change rooms with no problem when the Wifi on my floor was poor and the lower floor was great for Wifi. There was a room safe, ceiling fan, air conditioning, balcony and lots of hot water, a nice shower and 3 ways to lock your door from the inside. The only downside was the noise from traffic and car alarms from the heavy traffic outside but by 11pm or so things were quiet enough for a good sleep once you get used to the beds. The pillows were nice and 2 to a bed. I felt very safe and content there and the price was right. Extended stays allow for a price reduction too which the staff offered without me having to ask. An amazing guest experience away from the "tourist" hotels on the beach! The staff and decor of this hotel are superb. This is a great economical spot in the heart of the Zona Romantica. It's only 3 streets over from the beach and located very near the major bus lines with easy access to the airport for about 50cents USD! I was really pleasantly surprised by Hotel Belmar. Clean, cute, charming, cheap and only a few blocks from the beach and the noise of the bigger tourist districts. The staff were nice, though I barely speak Spanish and they barely speak English so communication was a little tough. My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Hotel Belmar Galeria. It isn't super fancy, but it is a very clean, cute and affordable hotel, with a great location in Puerto Vallarta...very close to the river-walk and to the ocean boardwalk. It was a nice home-base to explore the city.

Service and staff were great. Location is great, near beach and bus stop for south bound busses. Internal rooms are quite noisy, but staff gave me an upgrade to much better room.

Everything was wonderful. The bed was a box spring so it was a little hard, but it keeps the room bug free. Bring an extra pillow to put under your hip. The staff is friendly, but do not know English well. The soap smells really nice, but bring shampoo and conditioner if you want it. Sometimes the water takes a little bit to heat up.

If your looking for 5 stars, look elsewhere. But if you seek a clean, respectable place with character right in the heart of Puerto Vallerta's most genuine neighborhood, this is the place. Good Internet access from rooms too.

Super affordable, friendly helpful staff. We were looking to find a place to crash for not much mkney after our trip to Yelapa, and before flying home out of PV. I would suggest that you try to avoid this place like the plague. We prepaid our room in the hope of stayng for 15 days but barely lasted a week before we just packed up and left. The four conditions Expedia lists hardly matter when there is no noise control, no decent mattresse, no cloth closet, no.....on and on.

It's a clean hotel and there is maid service everyday. It's in a good neighborhood (I've walked around late nights during my stay). Good Wi-Fi connection and plenty of cable channels on TV. I recommend it.

Definitely do recommend. I liked that it is a few minutes' walk from the downtown/malecon area, and in such a convenient location, you don't really need taxis, except if you're looking to go a ways. Comments about the noise: we had an inward-facing room, and it was fine. However, I could see how one of the street rooms might be a bit noisy. I read reviews before coming to the hotel and they were accurate. The hotel is very clean, rooms are basic, staff is friendly but speaks little English (is cool I am in Mexico), and beds are a bit hard. The road is a bit busy but quiets at 11pm so was OK. The hotel is spotlessly clean and cheerfully painted. Friendly staff, free internet in lobby, inexpensive. I moved to another hotel on Basilio Barilla street 5 blocks away which was lovely. The neighborhood is very safe and full of good restaurants, but Avenida Insurgentes is just too noisy. The hotel manager told me that I could move to a room in the back that was much quieter, but I had already seen another hotel with a courtyard full of gardens and flowers and a pool and decided to move. We had a family emergency an had to get off our cruise ship and stay in a hotel for the night- so we had no point of reference. I used trip advisor for reviews and this hotel seemed centrally located between our ship and airport and that's where the convience ended! First off NOBODY spoke English AT ALL! so that was hard on us when we had questions […] getting here as the taxi driver couldn't find it cause the hotel.com address I was given wasnt the same as the hotels physical address. The clerk seemed very annoyed we were bothering her while she read her book. There is no elevator and very narrow steep stairs to our room. The room was tiny. It had the most rock hard bed I've ever felt and really was as if we were on the floor. There's a cold bear floor, and only two thin ragged bath towels and two thin and smelly pillows and very old scratchy sheets. The bathroom is open at the roof and the door doesn't close all the way, so it's not meant or privacy. There's a wood slat window and u can see from your shower into the shower in the room across the hall. (again no privacy). There is a small tv with about 3 Spanish chanels and a hanging bar below it with a fee hooks to hang your clothes, I guess it's a version of a closet? The door only locks with a deadbolt lock, but it's a deadbolt on each side so if there'd an emergency and u need to run then u better be sure the key is on the nightsand so u can unlock quick! The neighborhood left nothing to desire! It was so loud and since you're in downtown is very busy all might long. The rooms are paper thin and ao the sound carries all night long! Cars, people yelling, people fighting, music, sirens, tv's, and everything else! You're on the corner of a super busy street and cars DO NOT STOP for you to cross so RUN FAST! if you venture to the beach then it's about a five block walk down a very narrow street that feels like an alley. The charming hotel is conveniently located in downtown Puerto Vallarta. The rooms were whimsically decorated, colorful and clean, but the bed was hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. We had a great 7 night stay at Hotel Belmar. The staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast of cookies, juice and coffee was available every morning, and jugs of drinking water were available on every floor. From the 4th floor we had a view over the city with glimpses of the ocean. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, and taco stands on the block.

The best I can say is that the hotel is in a great location just south of the Rio Cuale on Insurgente where most of the buses to many parts of the city and airport pass. Also close to many of the fun spots , the Zocolo , and Malacon. Easy walk to most places. The hotel itself is very basic and clean.

Es la segunda vez que llego a este hotel, la gente de la recepción es muy amable. El problema fue que me dieron habitación frente a la avenida principal y desde las 6 de la mañana hay mucho ruido, por lo demás todo muy bien.
