The staff was friendly the room was clean and it was near the subway station;overall a pleasent stay \;I will book it again when i return to new york..............

Their check in time sucks..u have to check in at 2pm..

Nice, no frills, clean motel. Great of you need to stay in Queens. Free parking and internet and close to the Cross Island Parkway and Queens Villiage LIRR station. JFK about 10 minutes away with good traffic. LIRR goes right into Penn Station. Neighborhood is so-so for amenities but good restaurants close by auto. I will use it again.

very clean, friendly staff fits the budget. I highly recommended the hotel. Only breakfast needs improvement.

The bed sheets had sp_erm and blood stains. The toilet had poop stains. The hallway smelled bad. The gym was a sorry excuse for a gym. A guy working there told me their gym opens at 11am and closes at 5pm! Only 11am-5pm??? Are you nuts?!?!

Even though my stay was for only one night, I was not satisfied with the service or the room, but It was for only one night. When we checked in, the first room they gave us, the carpet was wet and mildew it smelled molded, room was smelly, I complained and they gave us another room, the second room was alittle better, at least the carpet was not wet […] and smelled like old molded clothes, but did smell like soap powder, so bad it opened up my sinuses, but again I was thinking that it was for only one night and I was too tired to go back to the front desk to complain. I had an important in the city the next day, so I was too tired to go and complain again. But overall, my experience there was not good, this was actually my first stay with Howard Johnson and I would never stay there again. Les mer

There are much much better hotels in the area for a lower rate. This was a dirty hotel. The breakfast was terrible. I wont go back.

I stay here frequently for business .Convenient to work and airports. Rooms are clean and well equipped. The LIRR station is nearby so depending on the room, it can be noisy. Staff is helpful. The complimentary breakfast is basic. Overall a good value.

Bad Smell

only reason i booked this hotel is close to the JFK Airport

I don't know the area, but this location is marginal. It's not real bad, and we did feel safe once we spoke with a couple of locals. It is close to the train, so that'll get you into Manhattan. It is safe from the station to the hotel. You might be better off spending a little more, but again, this is New York and things change from block to block. […] If you're a visitor, like we were, it's hard to get around to see the hotels, and that's why I stated might be better off. i was not happy with the hotel. It had a smell in my room like they had just fumigated. The room apeared clean and the bed was adequet. I didn't sleep well the first night but the second night I had no problem sleeping. I was on street level and when I opened the window to air the room out, I could hear the people talking as they walked by and smell […] their smoke from the cigarettes as they passed. I wasn't worried about my safety, but I could see how someone who isn't from a big city might be, being on the first floor, right next to the sidewalk. The transportation was easy to get to and frequent. The continental breakfast had a lot of breads and not enough fruit. Les mer

This hotel was excellent for a little weekend getaway out ofthe house, away from everyone with the boo. We are both sound sleepers so the train didn't bother us at all, it's also not frequent enough to be a nuisance when we were awake. The bed was comfortable and the tv had the essential channels.

I felt hotel is not kept clean

We had a very long drive and arrived late. mike, the nigt clerk, could not have been more accomodating, getting us checked inquickly and allowing us to park close to to the lobby in a no parking spot. He helped with printing boarding passes the next morning and gave us easy directions to folow to JFK. Thank you, Mike.

That was a lovely stay. I stayed there for 2 days everyone i mean everyone was pleasant, nice and helpful. I'm telling everyone to stay there. Its the best for a reasonable price. Quite and cozy love it. Come and see!!!

The staff at this hotel were very helpful and polite. The continental breakfast met our needs and supplies were replenished frequently. Our rooms were clean. There was quite a bit of lint on our sheets which got all over our clothes, but it wasn't anything that a lint roller can't fix. I found the hotel to be quite far from New York City and the train […] to get to the city was slightly complicated with its transfers, but there's not much the hotel can change about that. The staff were very helpful on explaining how to get into the city and how the trains function. The neighbourhood appeared to be safe and quiet. Les mer

The hotel is located in a pretty run down aera . there are no diners or place's to eat near by. The room was clean but lacked any coffee or tea making machines. It should also be noted a express railway line runs at the back of the hotel and lead to broken sleep nights. one thing in its favour is the 14 dollar taxi ride to the air train railway sta […] tion. every thing ok except for the passing of the train in the middle of the night

I was very disappointed in the location and the amenities provided by hotel, This hotel was not even worth half of what I paid. I was expecting a microwave & small refrigerator -there was not even a coffee pot in the room. I was travelling alone and afraid to leave the hotel room after dark!!

average at best. supposed to be in non smoking King bed room. upon arrival told I had been booked in king smoking. opted for double non smoking. storm caused excessive demand for rooms closer to the airport ( JFK ) Would only stay here as a last option

I've stayed at this hotel twice. Both times no issues. Hotel employees were friendly. Only complaint was the lopud day care out my window but that wasn't a big deal. Other than that it's a great hotel and the price you can't beat.

the hotel located faraway from manhattan about 30 minutes on trains

Was a peaceful experience I really wanted something simple and thats exactly what I got , the room was very clean and tidy and I really liked the flat screen tv. Overall My stay was great.

Did not expect much but was suprised. Great place to stay, comfy bed and close to everything. I will stay here again on my next trip. Saved me a good deal of money as the other hotels are ridiculous expensive.

It was a nice place to stay, room was clean and remodeled. It is derectly off the freeway so there is nothing to do around the hotel. Other than that it was a good safe place to rest your head. We were satisfied.

This was actually a really good hotel, clean (other than a slight mildew smell in the room that once the air conditioner was on it went away). Only complaint is if you need to go to LGA/JFK this airport is NOT apart of the shuttles that go to the airport so you will have to take a cab (it was $35 to LGA). Staff was very polite and accommodating.

I enjoyed myself real good. The staff of the Hotel were very helpful and courteous. I slept for 24 hours. lol

This is a very good hotel to stay. Staff is friendly. Room is always clean and spotless. The only thing is the continental breakfast it's not fresh. I think they can do better than that but after that there is not much to complain about.

Since I was in town moving things from my Mom's assisted living facility to hospice nursing, I wasn't there to sightsee. However for my purpose location was convenient to do shopping between Queens Village and Far Rockaway and good restaurants in between too.

If you're looking for a quick stay with no frills, this is it. However, it's not really a "non-smoking" hotel. Since it's only 2 levels, smoke often comes through doors and vents. Though not dirty, not really clean either. Neighborhood is comfortable and metro north just down the block.

-Why is it that no one mentions that the hotel is right next to the train tracks?? At times you can hear a train pass by up to 3 times in 15 minutes. -The bathtub floor was very very slippery when taking a shower. I had to be very careful not to fall and break my neck.

Nothing great about the place. The neighborhood is not good either. A regular place for the buck NYC standards. If you looking to spend a night and have a car, i would suggest driving outside NYC and finding a better hotel at a cheaper price.

I got a great deal on this room. The price was much more affordable than many others in New York. It was close to where I needed to be for business. The process of checking in and out was quick and easy. BUT... do not expect a fancy continental breakfast, a luxurious room, or all of the top amenities. The neighborhood isn't very inviting, but there is definitely some interesting culture. With the traffic, I was about 40 minute drive to LGA, but the price is much better than other hotels which were closer. The room was reasonably comfortable, although the bed was a bit stiff, and the noise from the hall was a bit louder than I would have expected. […] There was a small desk, but no convenient power outlets, and no separate lamp. Lighting in the room was overall pretty poor. One shocking experience -- when I first turned on the television it was tuned to the porn channel.
