The St George's Hotel - London

Vi reiser ikke til London for å tilbringe dagen på hotellrommet, så i utgangspunktet ønsker vi ikke å betale for mer enn vi trenger. Det vi trenger, er et sentralt, trygt og appetittelig sted hvor vi kan sove, spise frokost og ha tingene våre mens vi er i London. Det fikk vi på dette hotellet. Det var enkelt, rent og hyggelig, og maten var god. Hvis […] jeg skal nevne noe litt negativt, var det at det ikke er heis der, så vi fikk vår daglige trim opp til rommet. Frokosten varte til 08.30, og det kan føles litt tidlig. Dersom vi kom samtidig med mange andre, måtte vi stå i kø og vente på ledig bord. Men da vi først hadde satt oss, ble vi servert god mat med stor effektivitet. Jeg kan godt tenke meg å bo der flere ganger, og jeg anbefaler hotellet til alle med lignende hotellbehov. Les mer

Det negative var alle trappene,eller mangel på heis. Det var ryddigt og rent rundt hotellet. Samt en Spansk resturant med spansk betjening rett rundt hjørne på hotellet , som serverte velsmakende retter. Kan anbefales.

DONT STAY HERE!!

Oppholdet vårt varte kun i 3 dager i og med at dette kun var en liten shopping ferie, synes virkelig ikke at hotellet var vert pengene i det hele tatt! kommer aldri til å velge dette hotellet igjen. Man kunne kjenne spilene i madrassen når man sov, døren til klesskapet hang ikke skikkelig sammen med skapet, det var brune flekker på toalettsetet grunnet […] slitasje, i dusen kunne man ikke stille på hvor høyt man ville henge dusjhode i og med at denne var selvfølgelig ødelagt, man kunne høre trafikken heler natten gjennom. Møblene var helt totalt nedslitte, det var store huller i stoler og helt enorm missfarging. Synes heller ikke noe om servicen, det var noen som svarte oss med stor misnøye om vi spurte dem om ting. Fjernkontrollen til tv-en fungerte ikke, vi prøvde å skifte batterier men fant fort ut at det var selve fjernkontrollen som var ødelagt. Alt i alt var dette et latterlig dårlig opphold! Les mer

Vi bestilte tre manns rom og prisen var behagelig, at rommet lå i 5. etasje opp smale trapper uten heis var ikke så behagelig. Dessuten var det litt i lengste laget fra Victoria, Pimlico undergrund var derimot rett rundt hjørnet. Engelsk froksot servert frem til 08.30 i kjellerene var helt ok.

Beliggenheten passet oss bra, hotellet svarte til forventningene. Vi skulle bare sove på hotellet, så da var et slikt hotell midt i blinken. Men når skal de begynne med vanlige dyner i England. Dette tullet med pledd og laken er noe ordentlig surr!

Et helt typisk hotel i London, familiedrevet. Enkel standard. Rent og ordentlig. Veldig bra beliggenhet nær Victoria Station i et av Londons mest rolige strøk.

the hotel location is good, only 10 mins to the underground. unfortunately, we were stayed at the basement (quadruple room), the room was very small, and found some small bugs at the beds which closed at the window. the only good thing was they shared a very good breakfast.

My stay at the hotel was perfectly fine. There was no hidden fees, the room was cleaned nicely and I had no problems. Only bad thing about it, is paperthin walls, so if you plan on sleeping late, you will need some earplugs or whatever.

Basically, its service was very nice and friendly, and the breakfast was very good. However, I was shocked when ""I couldn't find a door of the restroom"". I could easily see the wash basin and toilet from my bed (The bed was very close to the restroom). This was my first time to live in a hotel without a door of restroom. Besides, the window was just […] beside my bed, and I couldn't close it tightly (I could feel the cold wind on my bed). I felt so cold at night when I was sleeping. Les mer

With this hotel you get what you pay for. Its not grand but its convienent.

Stayed in Family room (4 beds) for one night in January. Beds were packed into room and not much space to move around. Considering the price of the room I was expecting more. It had a TV but this located over the door in the corner by the wardrobe which obstructed the view a bit. Breakfast only served from 6:30 to 8:30 which I thought was a bit early, […] especially on a Saturday. But breakfast itself was good. Despite checkout at 10am, the maid was knocking on our door at 9:30 to see if we had left yet, which I didn't like. I saw a standard double on my way out though and thought it looked more like a normal hotel room so the family room may be the exception. Les mer

Within 200m of Pimlico tube station, the hotel was comfortable if basic. The biggest drawback was that my room was on the 5th floor and there was no lift! Breakfast was simple but adequate and the staff were friendly. The TV in the room was good quality and the bathroom was clean with a good shower.

I stayed in this hotel for 7 days over 3 weeks. It is a small family run hotel with friendly staff. It is 5 minutes from Pimlco Subway and within easy reach of Victoria and Waterloo Main Rail Stations and Subways via Bus Nos.C10 direct, 507 via Vicoria and 360 and 77 via Vauxhal. It is also within reach of most of |London's attarctions and main airports. […] Not very luxurious but a good value for money within its range. For those wishing to lie in late, the restricted 0630-0830 breakfast may be a draw back. As a globe trotter who has sampled lots of hotel brands, the fact that I returned there twice after my initial stay says alot about the character of the hotel Les mer

This hotel is about 5 minutes walk away from Pimlico underground station. Mind you that many week ends this station is closed (next closest station is Victoria about 15 minutes walk). There are no elevators in this hotel and 5 floors. So If you are set in the upper floors it could be a problem. A nice English breakfast is included in the price.

The staff was nice, and the hotel was livable, but it's definitely a train ride away from the heart of London. English breakfast that comes with your stay is okay. Overall, the hotel was not bad, but just not great. Good value overall compared to most of the hotel prices in London.

Killed 2 bed bugs on the white sheets with a tissue, leaving blood stains with bites on our bodys.Beds are infested. Rug very dirty,matress bottoms torn, towels not soft as though dried in the rain. No shampoo/tissues/tea or coffee in room. White sheets were clean but beware of what is under them-BED BUGS.Breakfast was good & friendsly. Pay more but […] do not stay here. Les mer

The hotel was only about a 10-15 min walk to the Victoria Bus Depot (where I was headed), but the wifi was not free as advertised and they didn`t have enough tables for breakfast so a number of people had to wait in the hallway before they could eat. The room was comfortable enough but to be honest the staff really didn`t seem to care one way or another […] if the customers were happy. When I mentioned that hotels.com said the internet was free she just said no, didn`t apologize, and when they ran out of tables for breakfast they started to sit random people at tables that already had couples eating. Very odd behavior in my opinion. For the price, I`d probably skip it next time and find something closer to the station. Les mer

Its more a boarding house then a hotel.Had to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to our room.Breakfast finishes at 8 30.Not to be recomended

This was the worst hotel I ever walked into. We checked in and then checked out the same evening. They had us in a basement room, which smelled and was full of black mold in the bathroom. The sheets were soiled, comforters dingy, and all around discusting. To top it all off, when we went to the main office to request another room, the manager came out […] like a mad man that had just woken up from his sleep. He was wearing his pajamas and a tank top, litterly looked like he just rolled out of bed, and it was only 7:30 pm. He was nasty, obnoxious, and rude, to say the least. When we told him the toilet wasnt working, he yelled at us and barged out of the office, insisting we follow him back to the room to check out the toilet. I did not feel safe at all in that hotel, so right after that, we check out of the hotel. I did not fly all the way to London to be treated like that, or be threatened by some crazy person. I honestly did not feel safe at all and I was scared for my children. If I could rate this a negative number, I would! Les mer

This hotel was what I was expecting. It was neither fancy or really run down. I used the St Georges' as just a place to sleep and it fit the bill well. The hotel should be considered a "just the basics" hotel. Our room contained only our three beds and a TV. I must say that the room was very clean. The location was about a 5 minute walk from the Pimlico […] tube station and about a 30 minute walk to Buckingham Palace. If you are brave enough to use the Tube this is a great location. We used this station to travel to all the main sites in London. All in all, if you are looking for a convenient location and clean place to base your visit to London from, then this is a suitable hotel. Les mer

This is one of the least impressive hotels I have stayed at lately. It's run-down; colour on the walls in the room in serious need of a fresh layer of paint, a hole in the bed cover (cigarette burn), didn't even get a smile from the staff when checking in, they were on the verge of being rude when enquiring about later breakfast and no flexibility at […] all about checking out later than 10 am (!) on a Saturday morning. Unless you are looking for a real budget option (and it wasn't even that cheap if you ask me) I would recommend you check in somewhere else. Les mer

Very satisfactory as a base. The single room was compact - but there WAS a single room, which I've previousl felt to an endangered species. Out-of-hours access was convenient, and staff were efficient, competent, and helpful. I liked it.

This was a small, basic, low- budget bed & breakfast hotel, chosen by me for its convenience to a nearby Exhibition which I was attending. The staff were friendly and seemed mostly to be of Spanish origin. It was reasonably clean & quiet and there were quite a few decent restaurants in the vicinity. The hotel breakfast was good and the accompanying […] waitress service was speedy & efficient. Overall, given the price, quite a reasonable hotel for a short stay, in London. Les mer

This hotel was more a glorified bed and breakfast but I have stayed in far nicer b&b's over the years. On arrival, the receptionist was very rude and monosyllabic, we asked about tea and coffee making facilities and were told they would be sent up to our room - we had to ask again later on and upon our return from our evening out, a tray with a kettle […] and cups etc was waiting - why could this not be in the room on our arrival? The room was basic but comfortable and breakfast reasonable but the lacklusture approach of the staff really lets this hotel down - head receptionist needs a course at charm school! Les mer

Not the friendliest welcome but the room and bathroom were clean. Would have been nice to have both doors on the wardbrobe and a lift since I was on the fourth floor with eight flights of stairs! Good bars and restaurants nearby. Would recommend better directions from the tube to the hotel to be posted on their website. Cost cutting seemed to be the main mission of this hotel.

Hotellet var rent och snyggt. Låg i lugnt område med nära till buss och tunnelbana. Frukosten var lite konstig, man fick välja på jos eller Kornflakes vilket vi aldrig upplevt tidigare. Däremot fanns det många äggrätter att välja på plus bacon och korv.

Personalet på hotellet er flinkt og supereffektivt - især når de serverer morgenmaden på samlebåndsmanér. Til morgenmaden får man både æg, bacon, pølser, toast og juice eller cornflakes, hvilket er noget mere end de "continentals" jeg har oplevet tidligere, som udelukkende består af toastbrød. Værelserne, som er temmelig små, bliver rengjort hver dag. […] Desværre var der også en ordentlig bule i min side af sengen. Der var ikke nogen hårtørrer, som beskrevet, men det var ikke noget problem at låne én i receptionen. Hotellet ligger i sådan en afstand fra centrum at man skal transporteres derind (og nok ikke lige tager hjem forbi midt på dagen) - det tager dog ikke mere end små 10min at gå til Pimlico station og derfra er det jo nemt at tage "the tube" til "hvorsomhelst". Alt i alt et fint hotel, hvis man bare ønsker et sted at sove til en fornuftig pris, og ikke har noget mod at transportere sig med det offentlige. Les mer

Lidt slidt, men OK. Madrassen var noget bulet. Trådløst internet virkede ikke. Morgenmaden var meget jævn, og den blev serveret ml. 6:30 og 8:30, så man kan ikke sove længe.

Et centralt beliggende hotel med god komfort og hyggelig indretning!

Notre chambre, triple était petite, veillote, sans aucune prestation ou petite attention(pas de bouilloire, pas d'échantillon, pas de sac dans la poubelle). Pas d'oreiller supplémentaire, une seule couverture supplémentaire pour 2 lits, 5 cintres.... Le minimum. 1 lit double + un lit enfant rajouté dans un coin sous la fenêtre pour une chambre certainement […] prévue pour 2. On est très à l'étroit ! La salle d'eau (douche) est riquiqui, veillote aussi, mais propre. Heures du petit déj: 6h30-8h30, oubliez la grasse matinée ! Et à partir de 8h, les femmes de ménage frappent à la porte ! Pas de chocolat chaud au petit déjeuner. Nous avons pourtant réclamé, c'est non. Donc les enfants, c'est thé ou café. Et passé 8h30, ne demandez rien, on vous répond "sorry, finished" ! Incroyable ! Le personnel ne répond plus à aucune demande passé 8h30. Nous n'avions jamais vu ça ! A part ça, c'est english breakfast typique et bon. Mais rien d'autre, mieux vaut le savoir pour les enfants. Des toasts, des cornflakes, du bacon ou des saucisses. Rien d'autre. Notre chambre était au dernier étage qu'on atteint par un escalier étroit et interminable. Bonne chance avec vos valises, encombrantes ou non ! Heureusement, l'hotel est bien placé, proche de Buckingam par exemple, d'une station de métro, de nombreux taxis passent devant l'hotel et quelques restaurants se trouvent non loin, ouf ! Bref, on n'y retournera pas. C'est très très cher et franchement on en a pas pour son argent, loin, très très loin de là Les mer

On était au 8eme étage sans ascenseur, petit hotel tres propre, a proximité des stations de metro, ideal pour des jeunes couples plein de vitalité! petit déjeuner inclus de bonne qualité...

Ja det är ett väldigt litet hotell, med mycket trappor så man ska verkligen gilla trappor. Vi spendera inte mycket tid på hotellet utan var mest ute och såg oss omkring. Frukosten var helt okej, hotellet duger om man inte tänker spendera sina dagar där inne.

Hotel centrico, con habitaciones limpias, antiguo pero cuidado, con muchas escaleras y un horario de desayuno un tanto pronto (6:30 a 8:30) Sirve para pasar el fin de semana decentemente y sin lujos. El personal, agradable.

Första intrycket var att hotellet var ganska slitet men ändå ok. Sedan insåg vi att temperaturen låg över 25 grader och inte gick att sänka. Hårtorken fungerade inte. Allt detta går att leva med. Men när vi hittade de brunröda baggarna som kröp i sonens säng, och sedemera också våra, då var det inte roligt längre. Vid samtalet med receptionen svarade […] man att de förra gästerna hade haft sönder hårtorken och det var dumt av dem. Att det fanns kryp på rummet tyckte man verkade osannolikt eftersom man faktiskt sprutar varje månad i rummen "och visst känner du på lukten att vi gjort det nyligen". Det ände vi inte. När vi kom hem fick allt vårt bagage så utomhus i kylan för att minska risken att vi får ohyran med oss in i vårt hem. Det är inte ett ställe man rekommenderar till andra. Les mer

Die Lage ist wirklich ideal, sehr zentral. Haben allerdings lange gesucht, bis wir es gefunden haben. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber sauber! Mühsam waren die vielen Treppen, gab keine Lift und wir hatten ein Zimmer in der obersten Etage. Frühstück war wirkllich ok.
