Et flott, moderne hotell med alt på stell. Fantastisk resturant både frokosten og middagen var i en klasse for seg. Fine rom og god atmosfære.

Carmel is a weird place. Lots of money everywhere, but this hotel was reasonably priced. Very large and well decorated room, good parking and close to restaurants etc. Excellent service at front desk. Good Wifi. Breakfast was standard for US hotels - quite underwhelming.

close to everyone i went to see. close to restaurants, and shopping. close to the beach in Monterrey, nad Santa cruz. no complaints at all. would stay there again.

This hotel was clean and convenient. The continental breakfast was very good. I stay there when I visit people and it is very convenient location to their homes.

As I was going thru Hotels.com, I found it very hard to look for a place to stay in Salinas. I started at the cheapest and went all the way thru to the more expensive well known hotels. The reviews mentioned "bad part of town" or "bedbugs" or "mold". None of them had as good ratings as the Laurel Motel did. "4+ Star at a 2 Star"
My extended family stayed here after I booked based upon other reviewers and was rewarded with friendly service and a nice stay. Rooms were clean (I checked in my parents), neat, and while somewhat dated, for the price and condition it couldn't be beat. I really enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were very clean and the TV had some variety. The breakfast dining area was very bright and cheery, just right first thing in the morning, well staffed and very friendly people, will definite use again.

Laurel Inn proved an incredibly accessible spot in our travels south. We appreciated the clean, quiet environs.

Only 30 min from Monterey, It's the best option for b&b in the area. The (regular) room was very big and clean, had a tv and a fireplace, and the breakfast was good also. This motel had the lowest rate per night in our entire trip to the US. Too bad we only been there for 1 night...

The hotel is one of the noisiest hotels we tried out on our four week round trip. The fridge was also noisy but didn´t cool, the A/C was working well but much too loud for sleeping. The pool looked nice on pictures, but in reality nobody wants to use a pool in the middle of the parking lot, only a few yards away from an Interstate. Bed was comfortable, […] but not the pillows. The breakfast was ok, the staff tried to be friendly but overall it was a bad experience. "Nice breakfast"
2 queens room, the room is big enough and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Bananas, apples, juice, milk, toast, bagle etc. Also choices of coffee and tea. We had nice stay. outdoor pool is kind of in the middle of parking lot, but weather is kind of too cold to swim in Oct anyway..

Very happy with value. Low cost hotel that was clean, neat, well run, and friendly. Got more value for the dollar than expected. Will return next year to stay for the Northern Ca. Ren Fest.

One of the hotels booked through Hotels.com for our recent tour of California and it was fantastic, from booking in at reception to breakfast the whole experience was "makes us very happy" all the way, and that is the way it should be, what better feeling....

We always stay here every time we go to Laguna Seca Raceway. It's right off the freeway, clean and fairly comfortable. Black Bear diner on property.

So grateful to stay at this inn during a family emergency. Everybody was terrific to us and let us stay an extra day with no increase in room rate. We were so pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Laurel Inn. Some of the reviews for this place were not exactly positive. DO NOT LET THOSE REVIEWS SWAY YOU FROM STAYING HERE. The beds were fine-the cleanliness of the entire motel including pool and hot tub are exceptional. The restaurant on site has yummy food. The staff is very friendly and neighborhood […] is fine also. Only downside which is minimal is that no food from continental breakfast can be taken out of breakfast room-it must be consumed where it is served. Nothing jaw dropping, but perfect for the night. Stayed here after a long day at Laguna Seca Raceway. It was CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!!! I would definitely stay here again during a race event or if I didn't want to pay the high $$$'s in Monterey.

I am SHOCKED this hotel has such hi reviews. The room was what you would expect for a motel, I guess, and the location was workable, but the bed was that hardest bed I have ever slept on and the pillows where like sleeping on a pillow case. The AC was so loud it sounded like somone banging on the window all night. I was up and down about ten times. We stayed in 5 different Hotels/Motels on a trip trough CA and this one definitely had the best quality for the price. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The Motel is easy to access from the freeway (you just have to take the right exit :-) and the breakfast was very good.

"Avoid this place"
The bed was too hard for me to sleep well. The breakfast room is very crowded and the tables are arranged for maximum chaos. The tile in the bathroom tub/shower is very nice! The room was quiet enough but I will not stay here again. I'd rather pay more for a comfortable bed!! The staff are nice but there are no do not disturb signs so the housekeeper […] kept banging on our door all morning. I was very surprised about how nice the place was for the price. I read the reviews and was not totally convinced, but since we were just in need of a one nights rest we went ahead and took a chance. A good place to stay near Salinas and Monterey. Also right next to Black Bear Diner. Nice clean and safe facility.
I'm glad we didn't stay on the freeway side of the motel or it wouldn't have been so quiet. Rates very reasonable and desk very helpful with maps to Monterey where we wanted to go and good recommendation for the full breakfast the next morning at First Awakenings not far away, and convenient to the Steinbeck Center. Suggest an alternate map to Monterey, […] taking Reservation Rd. out to Hiway 1, for more scenic beach drive that leads to Old Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. Les mer

We were just passing through so we really enjoyed that this hotel was very near the freeway and so easy to locate. The included breakfast was appreciated.

Our bed was full of springs in our back, probably never, ever been updated. The walls were thin and the windows were even thinner. We could hear ever person walking by, ever conversation...every laugh, scream or child not wanting to wake up. It was a weekend of no sleep. Room was okay. When we opened the window we had a view of the trash area, so kept the windows closed. Pillows are very small. But for the most part enjoyed our stay. Continental breakfast is good.

Over all the inn is just OK. Needs some serious updating. The complimentary breakfast is really lacking in food choice and location. We were next to a stair well and there were other guests running up and down and making a lot of noise which echoed off the walls and kept us up most of the night.

For the price, we thought this motel was really excellent. We were concerned given some of the reviews we read; we even considered changing the booking. Pleasant surprise. There were freshly baked cookies at reception on our arrival, check-in was very efficient (although it could perhaps have been a bit friendlier – not that it was unfriendly, just […] a bit ‘wham-bam, thank you ma’am’) and the room was one of the best we stayed in – large, spotlessly clean, two beds and a seating area, what looked like new furniture and soft furnishings, great towels and surprisingly quiet, given it’s on the highway. My only niggle would be that the walls between the rooms were a bit thin – I could hear next door’s actual conversation when they came back at night (although their voices were quite loud, to be fair). Didn’t last long, luckily, so no real problem. Breakfast was good. Overall, a great place to stay for the money. Les mer
