I was totally amazed with my room at the Chalet Kilauea. I did not know what to expect when I booked a room at this bed & breakfast, and I was absolutely delighted and pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The online photos do not do justice to this charming hotel. I stayed in the Africa Room, and once inside my room, it was like having my own little […] private home! The bathroom was absolutely gorgeous and immaculate. The tub had whirlpool jets that were exquisite after a day of hiking at Volcano National Park! It was very private and quiet, with my own private porch with a kitchen. The only drawback was that the room did not have air conditioning, but I left half of the split porch door open in the evening for a nice evening breeze. The grounds also have a beautiful outdoor hottub and lovely clean pond with frogs that peep at night. There was also a beautiful main livingroom with a fireplace, flat screen tv (besides the one in your room), computer, chess table, and more. I would love to stay at this hotel again if I return to the quaint town of Volcano in the future. Les mer

A very nice unique place to stay next to the Volcano park, out in the middle of nowhere. The staff was outstanding, the decor quite interesting, clean and just a neat place to stay.

We explicitly picked this hotel because they have a hot tub after a long day of hiking but when we arrived we were told that the hot tub was broken but could use one a mile away.

Situated in what appears to be a planned but persuasive rain forest, the hotel has lovely grounds. You pass the pool and fountain surrounded by palms and tropical plants to go up a flight of wooden steps to the lanai, decorataed with a human-size vase, a pretty big elephant, and other tropical crafts or art works. From the lanai you step into a large […] common room which is clean and well appointed. The room itself is a mixed bag. It is small and crowded but it has a modern, spacious, and luxurious bathroom. A small hallway connects the bedroom to the terrace or lanai, which contains, of all things, a small refrigerator and sink - out doors. No complaints about cleanliness, service or amenities, except to say that for an extra charge, the hotel serves a mediocre continental breakfast. In any event, we found the accommodations more than satisfactory but we could see how others who might be more particular than we are might be dissatisfied with the size of the bedroom. Les mer

A magical setting. The volcano, the rain forest and the grounds made the stay perfect. The decor and attention to detail was amazing. We enjoyed the kitchen on the private lania.

We enjoyed the rooms. ( we got upgraded to the Suite.) The setting (a tropical garden) is very nice. The proximity to Volcano park couldn't be better. The nearby community of "Village at Volcano" provided us with some very good, evening, dining options. Conversations over breakfast with fellow travelers were a pleasant start to each day. I/we found the hotel quaint , unique and quite comfortable. Enjoyed their version of the continental breakfast! The bread pudding was to DIE for AND it was homemade.

Wir haben zwei Nächte im Jade Room übernachtet und von dort aus den Kilauea Nationalpark besucht. Die Lage des Hotels ist dazu ideal, da man sehr schnell am Visitor Center ist. Der Ort Volcano an sich ist sehr klein, aber im Umkreis von 5 Minuten mit dem Auto findet sich ein kleiner Supermarkt und ein wrklich gutes Thailändisches Restaurant. Unser […] Zimmer war nicht allzu groß, aber sehr schön eingerichtet und hatte sogar einen Balkon (inkl. kleiner Küche) mit Blick auf den wunderschön angelegten Hotelgarten, in dem sich auch ein Jakuzzi befindet. Gleich neben dem Zimmer gibt es einen sehr gemütlich eingerichteten Gemeinschaftsraum mit Kamin und zwei Pcs mit kostenlosem Internetanschluss. Das Frühstück bestand aus einem Buffett mit verschiedenen Cerealien, Kuchen, Obst, Toast, Marmeladen usw. Wenn sie frei ist würde ich die Treehouse Suite empfehlen, diese ist sehr großzügig und luxuriös eingerichtet und hat z.B. einen nicht einsehbarern Balkon mit Blick in den Regenwald. Les mer

Auberge plus qu'hotel, à 1200m d'altitude sur les pentes luxuriantes du Mauna Loa, le plus haut volcan du monde, dans le but de visiter le Volcano NP. En voyage découverte de Big Island en 3 nuits, 4 jours, à partir d'un séjour d'une semaine à Waikiki à Honolulu. Seule gêne éventuelle, le gérant ne dort pas sur place et la réception n'est donc pas ouverte […] en permanence mais en le sachant à l'avance on s'organise très bien. Petit déj non inclus dans le prix mais seulement à 6 euros, formule continentale élargie, avec choix de fruits locaux, très correct. Chambre de charme, petit jardin tropical, endroit calme, facile à trouver. Malgré le jet lag (arrivée de France la veille à Honolulu), 12h de décalage, sommeil réparateur facile... Les mer
