Rent og pent, veldig bra service, sentral beliggenhet men veldig usjarmerende nabolag. Et mer business hotell enn turist hotell. Passer fora for dem som har møter mange ulike steder som Athen, Piraeus, Kifissia, Glyfada etc.

Nedenfor Akropolis, ved foten av sjarmerende Plaka, ligger Monastiraki rundt et bilfritt torg med en bysantinsk kirke og en metrostasjon. Herfra går Ifaistou-gaten med torgboder med lærvarer, antikviteter og militære overskuddsvarer, mens Adrianou-gaten er kantet med friluftskafeer med utsikt mot det antikke torget. Her holdes det også et loppemarket på søndag formiddag.

"Helt greit hotell - herlig beliggenhet!"
Nærme og greit, billig, litt glorete farger, men grei mat og fine og reine rom! Vonde senger og dårlig dysjforheng er det eneste som er å utsette! Veldig hyggelig betjening! Fantastisk utsikt fra tak-kafeen, men den var desverre stengt når vi var der på vinteren!

Hotellet passer veldig godt for båtturister fra Pireus som skal videre med fly. T-banen Monasteraki ligger kun 5 minutt fra hotellet. Forøvrig er hotellet ganske enkelt, men takterassen med utsikt mot Akropolis er topp. Stor forskjell på rommene. Noen er svært små. Det er liten vits i å betale ekstra for balkong. Du bruker den neppe. Unngå rom i 6. […] etasje. Støy fra takterassen gjør at du ikke sovner før i 12. tida. Ganske enkel frokost, ingen varmretter. Les mer

Forventet standard i forhold til antall stjerner, suveren beliggenhet, både mht Pireus og flyplass. Hyggelig takterasse med bar, flott utsikt til Akropolis. Enkelte rom har balkong med utsikt til Akropolis. Hyggelig betjening og helt grei frokost, dog ikke varm mat for de som må ha det. "Convenient and safe"
We have stayed at this hotel many times and it's very handy for metro and site seeing. Staff very helpful at all times. We stayed there during the recent demonstrations and strikes with no concern for our safety. A big thank you to the staff.

"Useful location for seeing the Acropolis"
Good hotel very close to the city. Staff are very helpful, unfortunately the roof bar is not open in winter. Has an awesome view of the Acropolis and cheap drinks. Breakfast is not very exciting but the hotel is not pretending to be a luxury resort. Hotel of choice for any future stays in Athens.

Nice, clean and tidy hotel with friendly and helpful staff (particularly for Athens!) in a great location at a reasonable price. The advice of reception staff on eating out and other touristy questions all proved to be sound. Room fine, self-service continental breakfast fine, hotel bar in winter very basic but not exactly a shortage of bars in the […] vicinity (can't comment on roof-top bar - it was closed - although you can still sit out and enjoy the view)! "Fantastic Location & Responsive Staff"
The hotel is super-convenient to the metro stop, Montistiraki, which an easy 30-40 minute ride from the airport. Literally, you walk out of the metro station and it takes less than two minutes to find this hotel. The location was very central to most of what you would want to do in Athens, that is, walking distance. Also, we and several other guests […] brought up an issue with another set of guests' screaming child, and it was dealt with promptly and efficiently by the person working reception. "Decent hotel, Great location"
Our family of four stayed at the Attalos for 6 nights in November 2011. At first glance, the neighborhood looks a bit sketchy, but I never felt unsafe. The staff was very helpful. The hotel is very basic, but the location makes up for it. The hotel breakfast is a bit pricy, but kids eat free. Also, when you compare it to eating breakfast at one of the […] nearby restaurants, it's not a bad deal. "Great value"
The hotel is a 2-minute walk from the Monastiraki metro station (service to/from ATH airport), and about a 6-minute walk from the Omonia station (to/from Piraeus port). It's also right on the border between the Plaka and Psiri neighborhoods, and about a 10-minute walk from the foot of the Acropolis. The roof-top bar/restaurant has a very cool outdoor […] seating area with a perfect view of the Parthenon. Our room also had a balcony with the same view. This is not a high-end, luxury hotel. "Close to everything in Athens"
Very good budget hotel with a great view of Acropolis from the roof bar, 300m (yards) to Monastiraki metro, 15 mins walk to Acropolis, Tower of the winds, 5 mins to Central Market.
"good location to sights"
Hotel basics: I found Attalos to be very typical of European hotels. Small hotel, with a small elevator, and small rooms. We did not have breakfast included, so we did not eat at the hotel. Our room faced the courtyard, which I believe is ideal at this hotel because it is located on a busy street. The beds were extra firm (we have a pillow top bed at […] home, so this was uncomfortable for us), so if you like that, then they were good. There are plenty of pillows and extra blankets in the room too. There is a TV, small fridge, and telephone in the room. No clock/alarm clock. But the hotel does offer wake up calls. The roof top deck is fantastic…great views of the city and the Acropolis. Whenever you leave the hotel, you will leave your room key at the front desk (a somewhat standard procedure in Europe). I would stay at this hotel again. Other tidbits: By tram/train, it takes about 45 minutes to get to the airport to and from this hotel. It takes less time to get to/from Pireas port (about 20 minutes). Athens has a lot of graffiti. The Attalos hotel is located in the central area of Athens, so the street it is located on (Athenas) is heavily graffiti. Les mer

Our seconf stay. Location # 1 - 100 metres to the Metro which goes to Airport and Ferry terminals Location # 2 - 150 metres to the restaurants of the Plaka Location # 3 - terrace on 6th floor provides uninterrupted views of whole City. The Acropolis is great at night
"Decent hotel with good location"
Decent price, good location, acropolis and subway is like 5 minutes away. The hotel itself is decent and ok comfy. Would be s good one for short stay of 2 nites or so.
"Ideally situated hotel, perfect for a short stay"
We were very satisfied with our stay at Attalos hotel. It was an easy 40 minute train ride from the International airport and then just a 2 minute walk from the train station. We were leaving Athens by ferry and it was just a 20 minute train from the Hotel to the port. There are many nice bars/cafes/restaurants close by as well as the lovely neighborhood […] of Plaka. The Attalos Hotel is a good hotel in a very convenient location. It is close to the Monastiraki Metro station and is therefore suitable for a night's stopover before heading for the islands.

It's very clean. Close to train stations. 15 walk to most sites. Location is great. We never had to use a cab. Don't expect a fancy hotel. It's a clean and convenient 2 star hotel by American standards. Why spend lots of money if you will only need to use the room to sleep and shower?
Good location and great rooftop but the room are very basic and bathroom very smal. We could not leave the door of the bathroom open as it would bump into the sink!

"Attalos Hotel - Comfortable and well located"
The Attalos Hotel provided a great location for a 1-night stopover in Athens on our way home from the islands. The hotel is nothing fancy but is clean and comfortable. Our rooms were air-conditioned and had a good shower in the small en-suite bathroom. The hotel is very close to the Monistaraki metro station, which connects directly to both the airport […] and the ferries at Piraeus. It is also within walking distance of the Acropolis and flea market. We did not sample the continental breakfast and it does not serve food - restaurants are plentiful nearby. If you stay at Attalos, I recommend ending your day in the rooftop bar, which provides a stunning view of the floodlit Parthenon. Les mer

We found the Attalos hotel to be a very comfortable, clean and well maintained hotel. The view from the upstairs bar of the Parthenon at night was fantastic. The hotel is well situated for easy walking to many of Athen's sights. We were able to leave some of our lugage in their storage facility at no extra cost when we travelled to the islands. "Great Option for the Price"
We chose Attalos during our honeymoon because of it's location. Having been to Athens before, I knew that it gets old after 1-2 days, so I wanted to be in the action and then get out. The location of Attalos can't be beat. It's perfectly situated almost beside Plaka and a very short walk from all historical attractions. The hotel itself is a very typical, […] mid-range hotel. The room was clean but the beds were not comfortable. No bed in Greece is comfortable. The bathroom was small but clean. We felt very safe leaving our belongings behind whilst we traveled around Athens. My only complaint about Attalos is about the guy who's on afternoons/midnights. He was our first experience with the terribly lazy and apathetic attitude that plagues the Greek service industry. It was like pulling teeth to get him to help us in anyway at all. This was incredibly frustrating, but the lady who is on the desk during regular day hours made it all better. She was very helpful, very friendly. She made a great effort to help us make some changes with our car rental booking that the night guy refused to help with. If there were more service workers with her attitude, I'd imagine that Greece's tourism industry would see a significant rise. Overall I recommend this hotel! Les mer
"Hotel Attalos - Great location"
Great location with close proximity to the Acropolis and subway. Nice rooftop bar, good friendly front desk. My only gripe is that I thought the breakfast was free, its not, its 8 euros/person.

"Near where the action is!"
Hotel is very close to the metro going to the airport, to tons of restaurants in the Monastiraki area, close to the Roman agora and acropolis. The room is small and so is the bathroom. Walls are thin you can hear people talking in the hallway. Just good for a couple of days stay.

The hotel is very convenient for the metro, for the Acropolis, Plaka and a fine vegetable market. The view from the roof top terrace is wonderful. Try it!
"Excellent location for budget traveller"
We stayed here just for one night while passing through Athens, and as we were arriving late at night and leaving first thing in the morning, we didn't want to pay a lot of money. I was concerned it would be noisy from the street (very close to Monastiraki Square & station, on a busy road) or a seedy neighborhood but it wasn't at all. I'd even requested […] a room without a balcony just for these concerns, but found we'd been given one anyway which, to our delight, offered a view of the Acropolis. The bar/lounge on the rooftop had an even better view of the Acropolis, plus another hilltop monument (Alsos Lykavittou, I believe). The hotel also offers a substantial buffet breakfast for 8 or 10 Euros, which can be paid for upon checkout.' This is an older, retro/funky hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised with the value for money. Les mer

"Spectacular Night View"
This hotel was in a fabulous location. The view of the Parthenon at night was spectacular. The ruins lit up with the full moon behind them... priceless. Our rooms were ready ahead of check-in time, no problem. It is right in the heart of Monesteraki, Plaka, all the shopping districts. Easily walked to St. George Chapel. Close to Syntagma Station, (metro […] to anywhere!) Parliament Building, downtown ruins, you name it. Great location, great hotel. Les mer

"Great deal"
We booked a room with breakfast included for a one night stay. The front desk staff was helpful with questions about travel outside Athens and Ferry information, and we used the pc's they had available with internet connections to check reservations. Wireless internet was free as well, and was easy to access. The room was comfortable (firm bed if you […] like that), clean, and had a nice little balcony to enjoy between our walks. I really loved the location, actually. Just two blocks from Monastiraki square. We spent the afternoon walking the streets nearby with plenty of shops, cafe's (filled with locals if you walked off the beaten path) and the nearby Plaka for gyros and bevs. Yes, the streets/buildings are tagged with graffiti, but if you're urban aware, that's just par for the course. The evening we walked up the side of the hill towards the Acropolis, and had a nice dinner with a view. Again...10-15 min walk from hotel, through interesting neighborhood, and at no time did I feel unsafe or uncomfortable. We returned in time for a nightcap of Ouzo at the rooftop bar. Spectacular nighttime view of the city and Acropolis. I really can't imagine lucking out better for the price. The breakfast the next morning was a godsend. Nothing fancy, hard boiled eggs, cold cereals, pastries/toast, yogurt, fruit, tea/coffee. But we had to be on the train by 8AM to the airport, and it was convenient and got us off to a good start. Clean room, steps from the Metro to take to the airport for only 8 euro. Also steps from the Plaka for food and music. My room had a view of the Acropolis which was just gorgeously lit at night.

The hotel is a couple short blocks from the metro station and on the line that comes from the airport. Easy walking distance to a number of the attraction. Couple of short blocks to a nice shopping area or a bunch of restaurants. Neighborhood is older but seemed safe and the hotel very safe. Graffiti abounds in Athens. Be warned pick pockets work […] the tourist areas and metro stations. If you are picked retrace your steps, check trash cans and lost and found, most pick pockters take the cash and immediately drop the wallet. Enjoy Athens, worth the visit! Les mer

Hotel is simple but really functional. Great location and the rooftop bar is awesome - everything they promise on the website. Amazing views, quite a bit of space, and free internet that just barely makes it up there. Hotel staff was great - very helpful and everyone we interacted with spoke great english. The room itself is definitely simple. Beds […] aren't super comfortable, but fine for us. Even had a balcony with a pretty good view, but ended up using the bar. Main issue - they don't make it clear that the Continental Breakfast is not included with every room. Is an extra 6 or 7 Euros per person and was a surprising charge for us at the end of our stay. Is a decent breakfast, but you should just go out and eat somewhere outside the hotel probably. Les mer

Attalos was a great budget hotel. The hotel staff was super friendly & helpful. The hotel is within blocks of the metro, flea market, Plaka & 15-minute walk to the Acropolis. They also offer a daily breakfast, free computer room & awesome rooftop bar. I will definitely stay there again!

Room tiny, bathroom even worst, so noisy till 1:00 am if you stay on the 5th floor coz the sixth floor is a bar. Overall this place is not recommended

The hotel bedding should be upgraded to at least provide a fitted bottom sheet. The flat bottom sheets were barely large enough to cover the mattress and we often woke up in the morning and found we were sleeping directly on the mattress. This made us uncomfortable.
