The hotels location is perfect for local bus transportation. The staff is like a little family and they passed that family feeling onto us. I loved the churchbells ringing, it did not bother us at all. We ate all our evening meals at the hotel because Chef Fabrezio was fantastic and so was his cooking.

It was a pleasant experience and nothing to complain about. It was just right. I will definitely recommend it.

The hotel room was actually two and a half stars or minus 3 stars, but the staff was charming and the restaurant gourmet. I would recommend the hotel on that basis, but not to someone looking for a real 4 or 5 star hotel. Our room really needed an up-grade in decor and furnishings.

We were looking to spend a quick few nights in Lucerne on our way to Zurich from Lausanne and found this little gem. I was a little leery when I first saw it online but we chose to stay there and we could not have been happier. The hotel staff were great during our entire stay. The hotel is great, good service, clean, good location...I love luzern!

Customer Service was great. The breakfast was tasty and ample. Location was wonderful. Only negative is that the beds were not comfortable. The double bed was two twins pushed together. The television was outdated and station selection limited.

Within 15 minutes' walk in any direction you can visit virtually everything worth seeing in Luzern. As it was late October and the nights were cold we kept our windows closed, so unlike other reviewers we heard no church bells or traffic. Furthermore we had a large room so no criticism there. The hotel is very cosy and the staff very friendly, giving very good service. It's very close to the lakeside and to all the major sightseeing and shopping areas. My room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathrobe and slippers that were provided gave a nice touch. The breakfast buffet was very good and abundant. The small boutique hotel provided a home feeling and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We had a dinner in the restaurant and the food was really good.

My family and I (three people total) stayed in the Hofgarten Luzern for two nights in mid-August. Although the town was full of tourists, we loved Luzern. The hotel is clean, charming, and eclectic. Beautiful location near the striking church in central Luzern. It's expensive, but this is Luzern. The hotel does have features that can be hard for Americans […] accustomed to American hotels: It has a narrow winding staircase (a lift is available), small rooms, and no air conditioning. We left the big shuttered windows wide open at night. That helped, but did let in some street noise. The hotel staff were very helpful and professional. Breakfast in the little outdoor courtyard was lovely. Our only complaint is that the bathroom was designed with all glass doors. That's right--one could see inside to anyone doing anything in the bathroom. This was not acceptable for us as our party was a dad, mom, and teenage daughter. The nice young man who was on front desk duty covered the glass with an art poster--this did the trick for us. Overall a lovely place! Les mer

The hotel is extremely convenient to the Lion Monument and only a short walk to Chapel Bridge and the other significant sites in Lucerne. The rooms were simple, but very comfortable and immaculately clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant offering was somewhat limited, but of high quality and the restaurant staff was very accommodating. […] This hotel was a good value for the very reasonable rates. We were in the hotel for 5 days.Hotel staff is very cooperative & eager to help at any moment. Location is just perfect. all city sight are within 10 mins walk. only drawback is church bell.it rang all day & night every half an hour. You can hear them even in your dreams :(

The hotel was really nice but not a 4 star as advertised and priced. The bathroom has glass door so there is NO privacy. Be sure your roommate is very close to you!! The artwork in the room was definitely not kid friendly. There a ton of stairs so pack light! There are areas that need painting and the carpet needed to be replaced. the roll away bed […] they put in there for a third guest is not sleepable. It is a little thin cushion. The staff was nice about providing us with blankets to put on the 3rd bed. Kind of hard to find from the train station so get good directions. The restaurant food is good but very expensive. Les mer

First of all we had a great stay at this hotel. The reception staff is really wonderful. The hotel is smalll and at first feels a little outdated, but I think that maybe intentional. Our first room had a glass, (completely see through) bathroom door, which was not at all practical for a family. So they moved us to the Apartment Suite with a half kitchen, […] a much bigger room and a PRIVATE bathroom. The elevator only goes to the 2nd floor so if you have a lot of big luggage you'd have to carry them up the stairs the rest of the way. Beautiful Hotel with a very helpful staff

Each room is a little different. Mine was the yellow room. My friends was the red room. The rooms were small, but were fine for our needs. The location is approx. 10 minutes walk from old town and 15 minutes from the rail station. If you are looking for a high end hotel this is not it, however if you you are looking from a good price and location you […] have found it. Note the elevator only goes part way up. Hofgarten Luzern provides excellent customer services which I will describe as the best ever. Location very convenient and safe. Super clean hotel. Customer service was superb hope to stay in this hotel anytime I visit Luzern. My wife & I had a great stay. I recommend this Hotel for everyone visiting Luzern. The hotel Hofgarten Luzern is a very nice hotel which i really enjoyed staying in....their breakfast is much better than what is usually offered by hotels in Switzerland. The hotel is a little bit out of the immediate reach of the train station which is for me better as you get much less noise from drunks around the train station. their staff are exceptional […] good and very attentive to your needs. a small example is adding extra hangers for all mu suites although i did not ask for it. i would very highly recommend this hotel! Overall a good stay. great locale and friendly staff. Room was a bit small and bed far too low to floor made it difficult for this older reviewer to get out of bed. Would perhaps use this property again.

A personal hotel with charming rooms, warm, helpful personnel, excellent breakfasts, within walking distance of old town, the lake and other attractions. It was perfect for all our needs and I recommend it highly.

Staff was kind and very accommodating. We had a six month old with us and forgot to request a crib. They had one up in the room within five minutes. Breakfast was wonderful: cereals, breads, jams, fresh fruit, meats, cheeses - the full deal. Great neighborhood with easy access to the train station and shopping.

Quaint little hotel within walking distance to the old town and shopping. Loved the bells in area. The management and staff were friendly, helpful and anxious to serve. Breakfast on the patio was the best. Stairs going to the top floor were a little tough with luggage. We enjoyed our stay.

Hotel and location was excellant, staff very friendly and room was very well laid out for 3 people. and very clean. Breckfast was also very good.

Lovely family-run boutique hotel - room decor unique and simple. All staff were very friendly and the hotel restaurant served good quality food. Restaurant recommended even if you don't stay at the hotel. The only downside for us was that our room was just above the terrace area of the restaurant so it was very noisy at night - there's no air-conditioning […] so we had to keep the windows open. What's more the bell tower rang every hour during the night - and then rang for about a minute at 6am! Recommend the hotel, but suggest getting a quieter room. Les mer

Lucerne is very expensive and we didn't realise we would need swiss francs. This hotel was a fair walk from the railway station but manageable. After our room was sorted we were able to almost get there by lift, however,there were still about 8 stairs we had to manage with our bags. We found it strange that on arrival we saw we had a kettle but after […] a quick stroll it had gone! They said someone had wanted a kettle so they came to our room and took ours! There were only 2 electric sockets I could see. One was behind the bed and was used for all bedside lights. For me to gain access I needed to pull out the bed and try to somehow use my adapter and power board - I needed to plug in my sleep apnea machine. there was so much dust behind the bed it nearly made me gag. The bells ring often and loudly but I liked that. It was atmospheric. The restaurant attached to the hotel served reasonable meals however, be careful who you ask to make you scrambled eggs in the morning. The waiter who made mine must have fried the eggs and then mashed them up. They were grey and I couldn't bring myself to even take one mouthful. Les mer

Very nice hotel, good service and ideally situated for Lake and Old Town.

This hotel was comfortable although not luxurious, but the location was great and considering how convenient that was, I would definitely recommend it.

I reserved their "small" single room - it was very small, but still had it's own bathroom. Being in the city there was still some road noise, and the curtain didn't fully cover the window to block out the morning sunlight.

This charming hotel in Lucerne, Switzerland was an outstanding suprise. It is a sweet little hotel centrally located near the Lion's Monument, Glacier Garden, Lake Lucerne, and in walking distance to the Chapel Bridge and Old Town Lucerne. Hôtel bien situé près du lac et pas très loin de la gare. Bon accueil et servise irréprochable . Nous y reviendrons in chaa allah.

Excelente serviço e localização perfeita, muito próximo aos principais pontos turisticos da cidade e também à estação do trem. Os apartamentos têm decoração diferenciada, cada um em um estilo diferente. Um capítulo a parte é o restaurante! Super movimentado e o melhor da cidade sem dúvidas.

Приоритетом отеля является его расположение.От центрального вокзала Люцерна пешком до отеля 10 мин. Все достопримечательности рядом - и Львиная площадь и Старый город и набережная. Всевозможные кофейни и магазины - рядом все. Номер у меня был одноместный. Площадь номера маленькая ,но в номере уютно и чисто. Персонал отеля доброжелательный .

Hotel sehr empfehlenswert. Frühstücksbüffet gut, man muss nur manchmal bittern, dass wieder nachgelegt wird.

Im Zimmer (kleines Einzelzimmer) wurde wohl früher geraucht. Dieser Rauch hängt noch im Raum. Wie schon beschrieben, ist das Personal sehr zuvorkommend. Frühstück ist reichhaltig.

- Preis ist angemessen - Außergewöhnliche Zimmer, wir hatten ein Zimmer mit einem alten Porzellankamin - Restaurant des Hotels sehr gut - Hotel sehr zentral gelegen, Stadt kann zu Fuß erkundet werden - Sehr guter Service an der Rezeption

Tout est très bon dans ce petit et charmant hôtel, le service impécable, et le petit dej' copieux et de qualité. Un petit hic: dans notre chambre la salle de bains avait une porte en verre transparente, visible depuis la chambre, pour comble la personne assise au wc est reflété par le grand miroir du lavabo...même si on très intimes, on a envie d'être […] isolés pour "certaines choses". Un verre dépoli ne serait-t-il plus pratique pour laisser passer la lumière et pas la vue? Merci Les mer

Das Hotel war nett, eher klein (was uns sehr gefallen hat) und liegt ziemlich ruhig, aber zentrumsnah. Es verfügt auch über einen Innenhof, in welchem im Sommer sicher mehr los ist - vielleicht ist es dann nicht ganz so ruhig (wir waren im Oktober da). Das einzige, was uns nicht so gefallen hat, ist die Glastür vom Zimmer ins Bad/WC - sich auf dem WC […] beobachtet zu fühlen, ist eher unangenehm. Unser Zimmer hatte einen Fliesenboden, was für ein Zimmer vielleicht ungewöhnlich ist, aber für Allergiker wie mich ist das gut - sonst gibt es fast überall Teppichboden. Das Personal was sehr nett und zuvorkommend, das Essen im Restaurant war aus sehr gut. Etwas teuer wars schon, aber scheint für Luzern nicht übertrieben zu sein. Würden das Hotel weiterempfehlen!
