Bay View Resort - Myrtle Beach

We have stayed at the Bay View Resort twice in the last month and it was great! The one bedroom we stayed in was huge, and the price this time of year is amazing! This hotel was great! I was a little skeptical of what condition the hotel would be in because the price was so low but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff was super friendly and the room was awesome. The sofa bed is showing signs of wear but other than that, everything else in the room was great. Because it's the off-season in Myrtle Beach, […] a lot of the near-by restaurants were closed. We had to drive about 10-15 minutes to get to the restaurants we wanted. This isn't a problem if you have a vehicle. Also, the parking garage is about a block away from the actual hotel. I read some reviews before booking this hotel so I was aware of that before I got there and unloaded the car before heading to the garage. Overall, awesome hotel for a steal of a price. I will have to return to Myrtle Beach more often during the off-season. Les mer

Overall, I was very happy with my stay at the Bay View. The parking away from the building didn't bother me. All of the employees that I met were very pleasant, which I think is just the way people in the south are. The room decor was nice and I had the Ocean Front Suite which had an amazing view! The only negative thing I can say is that the walls […] are a bit thin. This is something I've encountered many times at other hotels, so I think it's fairly common. My first night there was a strange sound coming from upstairs which I thought was a jack hammer. I called the front desk since it was almost midnight and they said they'd send security to check it out. Our toliet in master bathroom was stopped up. It after calling and reporting min 5 times, the maid came a to clean, and she called and told them it was a mess. They finally came and fixed it Other than that it was a great hotel and i will be back.

This was great place to stay with a very nice room at a good price.My wife is a little handicap and being close to board walk was nice we could eat and shop with out driving so I will stay there again.

This was one of the best hotels we've stayed at.. Had a great time and it was in a perfect location.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The hotel is located perfect for a stroll on the broadway. Pools were alwasy clean in the morining.... of course over the day sand accumulated in the bottom from the beach. Room was nicely decorated, LCD TV's and DVD player, air conditioning was nice and cool. We even had chairs, sand toys, and umbrella for the beach […] in the laundry room for us to use. All of the units are owned by individuals so how yours is furnished can be different, but we got lucky I guess and had an outstanding unit. Will definitely come back. No restaurant, or nice lobby are the only downsides only starbucks. The bottom floor where you come into the hotel is straight to the pool areas. You go in a side door to a small check in area. Parking garage is a block away so make sure you get everything from the car the first time! Les mer

We were last minute picking up a room in Myrtle Beach and chose this one as my husband wanted an indoor pool. We booked a suit for a super great price and when we walked in- it was great. Pull out couch, dining table, full size kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and a full set of cookware and dining ware. in a separate room was a bed with […] another TV. i can imagine that this hotel, when hopping with guests might not get the highest rating, but our stay in mid-September was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed the indoor pool area out of the cooler weather, but also had a great walk on an uncrowded beach - lots of shells. The room was fantastic, with a private outdoor balcony that offered a relaxing view […] of visitors on the boardwalk and the wonderful sound of the ocean waves. Over all I was satisfied, the room was nice and clean. The parking was inconvenient, and the pools were very crowed and noisy.

very nice people, good service......bad hotel room.....they put us in a room just big enough for 2 full beds and tv....two people could pass between bed and tv room was so small.......we had him move us......because the room was also located.....through a door.....you have to use your key to get in....and it leads you to a small box hole...with 4 hotel […] rooms and then you open your door..to get in your room....so even when the pizza guy comes you couldnt hear him because he knocks on the first door you have to enter......and then the room was the smallest room i had ever seen.....if there was a fire in the hall way...you wouldnt know about it.......felt like a box inside a box...very weird....i wil never stay there again..... Decent oceanfront room for a good price. Not enough elevators. Beds were not the best. Staff seemed eager to help. Nice little balcony. I thought it was a good value.

Pros: Conveniently located right where a main highway (501) dead-ends into the ocean for those who get lost easily Beachfront Short walk to an amusement park, 2 piers, lots of restaurants, and touristy destinations etc. if that's your thing Nice views of the ocean, city, and Ferris wheel from the balconies and there are firework shows at least once […] a week Rooms look amazing: granite counters, new/full size appliances in the suite kitchen's, two balconies Cons: Elevators are small and take forever. Could be helped if people who are just going up or down 3 or less floors would just take the stairs... we were on the 18th floor though... Fantastic stay at a great price! One of the best service staff I have met in a long time, very patient and responsive. The Oceanfront rooms are amazing, great views of the ocean, don't miss the sunrise for sure.

Very clean, convenient, comfortable, and affordable. I decided to leave for vacation a day early, and I booked the extra day with Bay View. I wish I could have stayed my 5 days.

I was completely satisfied w my stay. I recommend this hotel to others wishing to enjoy their time in Myrtle!

This was our second time at the Bay View and we will probably end up using it again. The elevators are an issue but not a big one, really it's only a hassle upon check out (especially on the weekends). Just load what you can in the car the night before and save yourself the headache. The TV's are super old, and there are no dvd players. If you happen […] to get a condo that someone owns you may be lucky enough to have a a dvd player and a cache of movies but the hotel-owned rooms do not have this. Location wise it is amazing, right along the new boardwalk and halfway between the 2nd street pier and all the Ripley's museum and arcades. Also very close to Wal-Mart, Costco, Food Lion, CVS, and Broadway at the Beach. Les mer

Noce hotel, reasonably priced and nicely layed out. Had a one bedroom oceanfront and it was perfect for two adults and a 16 yr old. Wish they had an outdoor pool rather than just kids pool and elevators were a little slow. Check in was easy and staff was very nice. Beds are uncomfortable and smaller then the average full size bed and elevator wait of 10-15 minutes but expected for peak season. other then those minor things the stay was great. staff was great. would definately stay again.

Really liked this place!! Only bad things were the elevators and the room was too hot for me at night I enjoy a cold room to sleep.

I booked an oceanview room with a balcony with a king size bed for myself and husband. When we checked in it was two double beds. My husband and I ended up sleeping in seperate beds for the four nights we were there. Couldn't get the towels changed out daily. Very noisy at night. Our door made a large noise when the other doors were opened. When we […] checked in I questioned the clerk why I didn't get a room with king sized bed and she stated they didn't have them. I spoke with a maid and she stated yes they do have king sized beds. They informed us that we would have to wear these plastic arm bands. I told get that we werent children. A very bad experience. You also have to park across the street. Not very safe..... wouldn't recommend to anyone. I will be contacting hotels.com. Les mer

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The price was good, the staff was extremely friendly and our room was clean and very spacious. We stayed in a one bedroom condo with a full kitchen and living room. It provided plenty of room for our 2 year old son to play. The hotel is right on the boardwalk which is really convenient if you are using a stroller. […] It was really close to a lot of attractions and we had a great time. The only negative was that our key cards stopped working twice and we couldn't get into our room once and the parking garage once and had to get new keys. My family and I enjoyed our brief stay at the Bay View. The rates were fantastic and the room was exceptionally clean. Check in was fast and check-out was even faster. There were a few drawbacks, though. The parking garage is a block away and though there is a shuttle cart, we only were able to catch it once. When it rained, we were forced to walk the […] distance in the rain. On the upside, the garage is very nice with key access. The pillows left a lot to be desired. If I were there for a longer stay, I would have requested more. My entire family of four had only four pillows and they were not comfortable at all. When we arrived, we found only two towels and two washcloths. This is for a room designed for up to five guests. Housekeeping did drop several more off during the day without our asking. The elevators are VERY slow. I can't find an upside for that one. We actully chose to hike it to the 12th floor a few times, knowing it would be faster than the elevators. Last, the pools are pathetic. The spash park was only half-functional. There is one small pool indoors and no pools outside. The lazy river is almost small enough, it seems, to jump from one end to the other. Fortunately, we were there for the beach and not the pools. Overall, a good hotel and for the price and room cleanliness, we will definitely go back. Les mer

When we arrived at the hotel, I was unhappy because there were twenty floors and I do not like heights. The check-in clerk was gracious enough to make sure we were placed on the fourth floor. The staff overall was extremely nice.

We stayed in an ocean front room, definately worth the extra few dollars. The private balcony was so nice. We only stayed one night and only used the room for a shower and sleep. It was clean and smelled nice. The room was a little smaller than most hotel rooms, but the bathroom was larger than most hotel bathrooms. The hotel was located on a strip […] that leads to the "boardwalk". We walked out our hotel and took a right and dined at a very nice, but reasonable seafood restaurant. When we finished dinner, we headed back down toward the hotel and kept walking to the "boardwalk" area. We were entertained by an Elvis impersonator, had some fun at some arcades, had ice cream... All with a view of the ocean. Our car was securely parked in a separate parking garage across the street. Again..... a very nice stay for a very reasonable price. Les mer

This is my resort of choice when visiting Myrtle Beach. I have stayed here several times and have always been satisfied! The hotel was in a great location. It sits along the new Board Walk. The room is typical, very tight but tolerable. The TV still a big tube instead of LCD. The refrigerator was possessed whinning in the middle of the night. I wish I had the shotgun to put it out of its misery. Talking about the elevators, it was a nightmare. typically waiting 10 minutes to go, and it was packed all the time. No frills hotel. The hotel was conveniently located at the beach, one of our primary criteria was beach access. * Check-in was rather smooth, with a long wait trying to unload the car and wait. * We had a ocean view suite ( 1 Bedroom suite) and the first room I was given was smelling cigarettes, on follow up with the front desk , I realized it was non- […] smoking. After some time they happened to change me into a similar room . The second room was clean the views were good but the sofa had seat covers missing.. the cushion sponge was all you could see on the sofa, on checking with the front desk they had a hard time figuring out what to do with it , and even after all that I finally gave up and decided i would not use the sofa. Other than this the room amenities and appliances were all good. The view was great, both the ocean and the sunset. * The pool was average. I found it to be too crowded and small. The beach access was good and I enjoyed my time at the beach. * Check-out was very smooth, without any issues. * Parking garage is on the opposite side of the hotel and could be some inconvenience if you like to go out for food with kids * Limited food options within 2-blocks, but we were not very particular. Overall I would rate the hotel slightly above average. If you are not too particular about spending time at the hotel, its a good place to stay in the mid budget ranges. Les mer

The hotel appears that it may be going down somewhat. Considering it is a fairly new hotel, it "s beginning to look a little worn. The room itself was fine. However, the bed was not that comfortable. My daughter said that the pools were fine. I would suggest this hotel to others.

Bay View Resort was not accomodating at all for Bike Week guests with trailers and Harley's. The information given from reservations was not granted upon arrival for secured trailer parking.

We had an ocean view suite on the 15th floor and it was absolutely beautiful. Very convenient location with lots of things to do. we will definitely go back!

The pool was definitely too small for the size hotel. Rooms were ok - but nothing spectacular. Good hotel for the price, but not many pool activities available.

We booked and paid for the room months ago, a room for 3 people, when we checked in and went to the room there was 2 towels, 2 pillows, nothing was prepared for our visit even though we had paid for the additional person. This was fixed when we bought it to receptions attention however found this annoying and inconvienent Don't get a room near the […] ice machine, the 1am ice making process is deafening!! Les mer

Me and my bf stayed there overnight. Took a bit to get used to the 15th floor, but once we did, view was breathtaking! Had to park across st but they had a guy on a golf cart picking u up and dropping u off. They got us in way before check in (thank you!). Clean room and friendly staff. Wish they had at least one pool outside, but that is the only thing. […] We got way more for the money we paid..like 4-5 star hotel with a 2-3 star charge. I highly recommend this hotel to others and would love to stay again. If I could afford another trip, I would go tonight! But with gas prices, we could only afford a one night stay. This was not just a great value it was also a great place to stay. My family and myself enjoyed all 3 of the pools and the hot tub. The Ocean View Suite is the best way to go having your own kitchen is a big help in Myrtle Beach.

I would have loved to stay longer the room was well maintained. The bathroom was immaculate as well were the linens. The view from our room was partially the ocean and the road side. There was not any coffee in the coffee maker was the only woe that I could say The staff that I met were all very courteous and willing to offer help.
