hotel was wonderful, i do have 1 gripe... Internet is advertised as "high speed" witch it is not, at least not during the 3 days I was there. It was testing at a painfully slow .04 mb/sec, that's almost impossible to do anything with. if you NEED an internet connection stay somewhere else. Even cellular air cards are slow due to the area the hotels […] located inn. other then that this hotel is wonderful. Les mer
Our room was a nice size, very clean and comfortable. The staff was nice. The breakfast bar was good and had more choices then other places that we have stayed. We would stay at this hotel again.

Great king size bed and comforter -- slept like a bear in a den. Wonderful breakfast bar and amenities. Had to request a shower cap, but the hotel is very nice and very quiet, even though it is adjacent to the 99 freeway.

"Overall pretty good for Merced"
The hotel and room were very good and clean. I have stayed there a few times now because what is available in Merced is pretty limited and it is probably the best of the "Big 3" on Hotel Drive. Be careful of parking lot security. It is certainly the best deal for price/performance. The much promoted free breakfast is OK but don't expect a real breakfast. […] Also, it is the same every time. There is a Carrows down the road a bit which isn;t bad as a fallback. Merced is a town that is growing rapidly and really needs to do better. Les mer

"Hampton Inn - Merced - Kind of disappointing"
The $10 "extra person" charge for a two people, total, in the room was kind of tacky, but I was aware of that going in. We were in Merced for a class reunion and did not know the address of the restaurant for one of the events. The was no phone book in the room, or at the front desk, and I hadn't thought to bring my laptop for a one night trip. There […] was no way to adjust the thermostat to a comfortable temperature. The settings had little or no relationship to when the A/C went on and off. Tried three times after 11:30 pm to call the front desk for a wake-up call and the line was busy all three times. All hotels, especially the ones at the higher end of the price scale, including this one, need to realize that two bath towels are not sufficient for two adults, As often as not one of the adults is a woman who will need a second towel to dry her hair. Related to the immediately preceding comment, if there is going to be no tub, just a shower, put the shower head somewhere a person under 5'5" can reach it. Les mer

I was not well received. I was called from the elevator to move my vehicle because it was said to be blocking the drive way; it was not. I was late getting back to my meeting. My room was clean, but the tub would not drain. I was also given a room with chair that had a broken arm rests that alomost caused me to injure myself. "Merced was a good point to stay after Yosemite"
We were very happy to stay in Hampton Inn the staff is always so friendlly and helpful. They offer complimentary breakfast and internet. After a long day in Yosemite it was awesome and the hotel is super comfortable. A very good option to stay and not to expensive! I strongly recomend this hotel

Very nice and clean. Worked perfectly for me. I travel for business and it fit my business needs perfectly.
Stayed here when we dropped our son off for college. Really a nice room, far better than the Travelodge we stayed in a couple of weeks before, but twice as much in cost. Would do it again
It was very comfortable , convenient, and clean. the only complaint I have was that the pool was closed.

"Registration desk"
The front desk personnel was the most unfriendly of any Hampton I have stayed. The personalities of these individual was liken to that of a corpse with the exception of on employee who was very accommodating. The pool was under maintenance and we were not informed of this prior to arrival. I really enjoy the Hampton but this one just didn't have the […] same spirit about it as the one in Moultrie GA. There were just an obvious difference in the courtesy and friendliness of the staff. "Sub-Standard Service"
My Brother-in-law, Jack K. and his family,visiting from Germany,stayed at your facility. Upon arrining it took 30 min. for the attendent to arrive at the desk. After checking in when they arrived at the room the key did not open the door. Back to the front desk, 15 min wait again. got new key and opened door to the room and the room had not been cleaned […] or made up. Back to front desk, attendent asleep on the counter.Got new room and were told they could stay until 1:00 pm next day. Next day new attendent told them no way, check out is 11:00 am and did'nt care what the night person said. Not very professional. If this is the image Hampton Inns wants to portray then I am sorry but everyone this family speaks too, will be expressing the lousy experience that our visiting family received. The staff was very gracious and answered all questions that we had. The room and hotel was clean and comfortable. The only negative item was that the Jacuzzi was not working for the 3 days that we were there.

The worst hotel ever. I do not even want to think about the hotel. Nothing was working and the room was very wet , smelly, dirty and loud. Staffs were not professional either.
I should have went direct to book the room because the price was only a few dollars difference and Hampton does not let you earn points for stay when booked through a 3rd party. The breakfast selection was very good, the rooms very comfortable.

Just a quick overnight stay with 3 of our grandkids. They loved the pool and the self-serve breakfast. Staff was helpful and room was very clean. Air conditioner was very noisy to try to sleep to.

We loved everything about this hotel. The staff was great, especially the gal in the breakfast room. She worked very hard and went above and beyond her duties. We would stay here again when we return!!!!

There are not many choices of hotels in Merced. The 2.5 star rating is little low in my opinion I would say it is more like 3.5 stars. Comfortable and quiet. A good continental breakfast is included.

A little disappointed in the room and hotel. There were a lot of little things that added up to make our stay less than desirable. The shower head was dirty and sprayed all over the place as did the bathroom sink. A chewed pen left on the desk, the spa didn't work and no sign or other notification. I check in and it took me less than 5 minutes to get my room key. The rooms were nice, new and clean. The staff was very helpful at recommending places to eat in Merced. They also had maps to help navicate the area. I also had my puppy come with me and they had no problems checking him in. The only thing I would recommend is to have the hotel fully […] staff the breakfast area especially when the hotel expects a large amount of guests. otherwise i would not mind going back again. All was great, EXCEPT for the comforter/-duvey that was on the bed. All of the stuffing in each square had balled up into little baseballs, making it uncomfortable to sleep under. The only other blanket found in the closet was a foam like thing that was also uncomfortable. The Hampton Inn in Chowchilla, CA had easy, immediate access to the freeway. Excellent bedding and style to the decor,extrememly clean and comfortable. The clerk staff offered several options for local dinner spots and were most accomodating when I accidentally left some belongings in the room. They were bagged with my name waiting at the front desk […] when I stopped by later to pick them up. Les mer

We chose this hotel as it was close to route 140 so we could head to Yosemite the following morning. We were very pleased with the service we received by the staff. The young gentleman who checked us in made sure we were satisfied with our room and was very helpful in giving us directions to have dinner that evening in Merced. The breakfast was very […] satisfying, room very comfortable and clean, pool area convenient, and we felt very safe in this hotel. "Good place to stay"
We stayed in Merced with our family with three kids and used it to visit Yosemite. That's a two hour driving distance, which was OK for us. The hotel is nice, modern, friendly staff. Very clean, good breakfast. We had a great and relaxing time.
