Perfect central location in the middle Keys of Florida. Fabulous fresh seafood abounds. Pelican Cove resort had beautiful view of the ocean and nice clean pool and area with bar and food. 1 hour dive to Key West

The staff was great and the rooms were clean and the view was awesome. There were good restraurants and bar close by. Very relaxing if you want or nightlife close by

Great view; clean room. But even though the hotel was not very full in March, we had a group next to us that was very loud. Just on their balcony talking from 8-11pm but the walls are so thin it was unbearable. Tons of other hotels in the area; I'll go elsewhere next time.

Very clean and very friendly place. A georgous quiet, peaceful place, if you wanted to get away from it all. I would definitely stay there again. I just wish I could have stay longer.

Had a great time. Whether you are looking for a place to relax by the pool, take a swim in the ocean, then relax in the spa, this is your place. We had a ocean front double and enjoyed it very much. One could sit on the balcony and watch the ocean for hours. Why do that though when you can lay on the beach, get some sun, and basically do the same. The […] resort was very close to a few amenities such as boat charters and wave runner rentals. Close by there was a gas station, a Shula Burger (which had some good food), plus Rum Runners (if not busy, actually pretty fun to hang out in). After our first three days we decided we wanted to stay a bit longer. However our room was not available so we decided to upgrade to a suite. The rooms are nice and feature a jacuzzi and extra wide balcony. The down side to these suites are that they are noisy. Every time someone opened their sliding door to the balcony you could hear it. Rum Runners will also have live music until 11pm which you can definitely hear(at least from my suite). But hey.... who goes to a resort to stay in their room all day. The Ocean front rooms were AWESOME. I would defiantly recommend those. The staff was also very friendly and any problems I came to them with they were more than willing to help over our 6 day stay. If TLDR; Islamorada has many restaurants and attractions to make it fun for a family to stay. With pool, beach, and boat launch the only reason to leave the resort would be to visit one of the restaurants. I <3 the sun. Les mer

The only complaints I had were that the shower head did not have warm water just hot or cold and the hotel sign was a banner. The location is awesome. Very relaxing views of the ocean. Calm and peaceful resort. Room was very clean and tidy. No real beach but hey it's the Keys. Definitely recommend this resort. Thank you Pelican Cove!!!

We stayed here for 2 nights on the way to, and from Key West.Its an excellent stop off mid-way down the Keys, convenient for Theatre of the Sea, Dolphin Research Centre and many other Florida Key attractions.Our room on the 1st night was very comfortable but we were up-graded on our 2nd night to an ocean view suite.This had a jacuzzi in the bedroom! […] The only down side is that there isn't a restaurant on-site;however there are plenty of eateries within walking distance. We'd recommend Shula Burger and Wally's Deli for breakfast sandwiches! Les mer

Nice hotel if you are on your way down to Key West. Excellent views of the ocean and surrounding area. Good swimming in the ocean or in the pool. You can fish easily off the dock and boat rentals available right next door.

I had never been to the Keys before & thought that this would be a good area since the hotel stated oceanfront/beach front. My fiance & I got to the room late very much exhausted from driving for almost 9 hours. When we went into the room we walked right back out. The hotel was not as described. The carpet looked like it hadn't been replaced in 20+years […] & the rooms were tiny. The "ocean view room" was a joke. The restaurant closed at 6pm. There are barely any resaurants around the hotel. If you are fisherman that just wants to hit McDonalds & have somewhere to sleep this may be for you. However, I'm sure you could find something similar for much less money. They were at least nice enough to give me a refund for 4 out of my 5 night reservation. Les mer

We found Pelican Cove a great place to escape the cold wet winter for a short time. I thought our room was very clean and comfortable, the people we met at the resort were all friendly and helpful. My only problem was with the cable provider, it took them several days to respond to a complaint about the cable but it was not because Pelican Cove did […] not do everything they could.. I recommend Pelican Cove to anyone wanting to relax and unwind, if you are looking for party night life, go to Key West. Les mer

We had a very peaceful stay at Pelican Cove Resort. The view of the calm Atlantic coupled with the perfect temperature of the pool, deliciously concocted cocktails and friendly service, made our stay in the Keys more relaxing than a day at the spa.

We enjoyed our stay at Pelican Cove. The view from our balcony was lovely over the inlet and the ocean. It wasn't high-end fancy, but clean, convenient and the staff was nice. We'd stay here again.

This was our first trip to Islamorada. We were less than impressed with many of the hotel selections, but chose Pelican Cove based on the generally favorable reviews. Although the location is good, the rooms are very outdated and were not as clean as we would have liked, especially at the higher cost of this hotel over many others. The hotel staff […] was courteous and helpful, but I cannot believe how much we paid for the room. Based on what we heard from friends at other places (we were in town for a wedding), however, cleanliness seems to be an issue everywhere. Bottom line is don't expect a significantly nicer room for the larger cost over other nearby hotels. Les mer

I could not get assistance to help me carry my luggage up and down to my room. The shower head had very little water pressure and the tub's drain was broken. Very clean and comfortable.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The swim area was great, room was comfortable, and the ocean front view is what dreams are made of. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the keys.

This was a great hotel! I went there with a few girlfriends and had an amazing time. The hotel is clean and pool area w/ grill and beach was perfect. The help, especially mama Katherine, was exceptional and the location was perfect. Right on the water with boat access and near shops, restaurants and bars. After reading other reviews, I must admit that I was nervous about booking this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised when arriving at the Pelican Cove. The staff was great, the room was very clean, and our "marina view" room had an awesome view of the ocean if you just turned your chair to the left. :-) The air conditioning worked beautifully (thank goodness […] because it was flipping hot!!), the pool and beach were nice, and the hotel is very close to a lot of local attractions. Other folks had commented that they had issues with the On Demand shower; it was not a problem for my husband or I, we both used it without any problems. The only issues we noticed were the unfortunate hours of the Cafe, and the fact that the ramp/boardwalk that leads to the dock broke while a gentleman was attempting to walk out on it. It was very quiet and relaxing and this was on the 4th of July weekend! Room was as described and very clean. The front desk staff was extremely friendly. Only wish I had stayed longer. I will definitely stay here again if I ever make it back to Islamorada.

Comfortable, but older hotel overlooking the water, nice outdoor pool and received free drink vouchers at the bar upon check-in. Drinks were good. I was concerned about the negative reviews when I booked..what a surprise. Friendly staff all three ladies on the front desk and the two from housekeeping. Pleasant and accomodating. A smile goes a long way. On demand hot water shower worked fine for me and my son. Directions in the shower just follow and you won't have a problem. Facility and room […] were clean and well maintained. Don't expect marble showers and flat screen TVs but for the money the Pelican Cove is the best value in Islamorada. Good overall, would have love to have more time to spend, great views from the rooms, nice and quite yet close enough to the Tiki Bar next door! Would definitely recommend.

The front desk staff was horrible, the room was horrible, and no effort was made to help--the brochure- says the owner wants you to tell her about any problems, but she was totally inaccessible. Not at all what it was advertised to be--beware of"marina-view" rooms. No refrigerator as advertised, and coffee maker was broken. Dated hotel for the price. Very quiet place, probably best for an older couple. Very small beachfront and pool. Front desk staff needs work on their customer service skills!!

Do not go to this hotel the staff was extremely rude and we were not the only customerd who complained.

For a attractive property in a great location, the problem is the staff. No wonder the property was almost empty in a prime vacation period. The staff was indifferent to the point of being almost rude. They lost our reservation, couldn't get the room clean and ready until I got angry and we were finally given a room around 4:30 in the afternoon. We […] knew that when we arrived before noon that we would have to wait. Checking every hour or so, the only information we were given was that guaranteed check in time was 4:00 PM. No sense of when one might be available. Hopefully the property will get new management and new staff that knows how to give good customer service. Les mer

The place had this great architectural design whereby every room has a great view of the beach and the sea. Loved waking up in the morning with the sun coming directly from the window. We could get out on the balcony and watch the sun rise. The staff was really nice and helpful and had a very homely feeling about the place. The pool and jacuzzi were […] great too. Hotel was clean, quiet, had ample parking, and a big fridge in the room. The front desk staff was very friendly and knew great places to eat and local tips. The property was BEAUTIFUL! truly a slice of paradise. Beautiful drive from the hotel to Key West, and affordable watercraft, boat rentals and charters within walking distance. The Pelican Cove is conveniently located next to Holiday Isle in Islamorada. It is right on the ocean and provides a gorgeous view. The pool and beach area are great. Enjoy a free welcome cocktail at the tiki bar that is right next to the pool. Bartenders Bonnie and Karen provided a lot of local knowledge about what to see and do in the area. But honestly, […] you really don't even want to leave the property, it's just so peaceful. There is a sand volleyball court as well as a tennis court. You can rent boats, kayaks and wave runners right at the resort. They seemed to have the best prices around. We've stayed at a lot of hotels in the Keys and would say that for the price, this is one of the best. The rooms are beautiful, the beach and pool are spectacular and the unobstructed view of the ocean from almost anywhere at the resort is so relaxing. If you are thinking Islamorada, this is the place. You're within short walking distance of Holiday Isle, yet away from the loud craziness. Les mer

This is an older porperty that was adequate but nothing special. Still using bedspreads instead of the newer duvets with a light weight comforter. Shower did not work properly..cold water when one least expected it. Pool was nice. Hot tub old and not clean..had debris floating in it.

Great view from the Ocean Front rooms (worth the extra money) but be careful of the "on-demand" hot water system. One minute the water is scolding hot & the next it's ice cold. If you're bringing a boat, you may be disappointed in the $40 per day fee for dockage. Some of the older motels on the Bayside are free. No beach area either, but the pool & […] hot tub were fine, and there was a roped off area to snorkel. Keep in mind, if you plan on driving to Key West, it will take you at least an hour each way. This hotel is in a convenient location! It was really easy to find. We were right next door to the Tiki Bar. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. 1 major problem: the shower had an "On Demand" water heater and the water temp in could NOT be regulated - it was either too cold or too hot and, apparently, maintenance did not have the knowledge (or motivation) to fix it. We went 4 days without a decent shower.
