Inn By The Harbor - Santa Barbara

Koselig, lite hotell. Kort vei til strand og Santa Barbara sentrum. Hyggelig staff, rolig hotell. Frokost inkludert, liten, men ok frokost. LItt gamle rom, men helt ok. Aircondition er plassert rett forann sengen, lite minus.

Bra beliggenhet med gangavstand til både stranden og sentrum. God service når vi ba om å få byttet rom til et i 2. etg. de flyttet koffertene for oss. Hyggelig med ost og vin samt melk/kake servering i fellesområdene. Negativt var at det var liten plass i fellesområder hvro frokosten ble servert, og det var veldig lytt fra 2. til 1. etg...

The hotel is old, but still nice. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the complimentary wine happy hour, and the breakfast was decent. We were about a ten minute walk to the pier and State street, which we didn't mind at all. For the price, I would definitely stay here again.

Room was older than I expected, well maintained, windows open for fresh air, kitchen has spacious counter, beds comfortable, lots of storage for longer stays.

I stayed here with my wife and my two kids, aged 7 and 8. The room was large and had a small kitchenette - a bonus traveling with my kids. It was clean and comfortable. The pool area was very nice and secluded. The folks at the front desk were polite and very friendly. The hotel breakfast was great as well - plenty of food and lots my kids could enjoy. This […] hotel is walking distance to pretty much everywhere. Excellent location right on the east side of city college. It's on a busy street but don't let that fool you - you don't even notice once you're inside. We're looking forward to returning! Les mer

We were so appreciative of the hotel desk clerk recommending a great restaurant near by as we had no clue as to where to go. He even gave us a coupon for a discounted appetizer. Enjoyed the continental breakfast in the lobby of the inn the next morning.

Let me preface this by saying the staff here were more than accommodating when it came to our satisfaction. They were even willing to let us stay at another of their hotels as we were BEYOND disappointed with the Inn by the Harbor. It's literally located directly next to a low-income housing community. As in you have to park right next to it and see […] the shenanigans that go on in this sort of development every time you leave your room. Lock your car and room doors tightly! There is no harbor nearby. You're nowhere near anything (dining, entertainment, WATER). The rooms are directly out of the late 80's/early 90's, albeit the beds are very comfortable (the only saving grace of the entire stay). The showers/bathrooms are just plain gross. Cracks and holes in the tiles (room 22). The shower head is about 5 feet off of the ground, meaning you can't stand underneath it. That's right, you have to pretty much bend all the way over to wash your hair. Low quality shampoos/conditioners/sundries. They do have bicycles in various states of disrepair that they included in the price, which is nice when you get some that don't have bent wheels or broken brakes. The breakfast is what you'd expect. Processed cereals and pastries with sub-par coffee. There's more, but if the above isn't enough then you clearly don't have any sort of taste and would likely stay in a hostel. Les mer

The very small grounds are immaculate but simple. The room was clean and quiet...very small with a very dated, but clean, bathroom. Located adjacent to a park and Santa Barbara City College, short walk to the beach and State Street.

While I was bored at work, my bf and I decided to take an overnight trip to Sta Barbara since we've always wanted to go there and never really had the time to take a long coastline tour of SoCal. I was browsing amongst the many boutique hotels and B&B's on the phone and luckily came across Inn by the Harbor. I was set on staying near the beach, and […] this was the cheapest place I saw given the location. We arrived a couple of hours before check in time, and luckily the room was ready. We were very happy with the place. Parking was free (important factor for me). The receptionist was very welcoming. The receiving area was clean and nice. You could tell the building was kind of old, but it was cozy, and everything worked well. The garden was well kept. The free breakfast was also pretty good. I really dont have anything bad to say about this place. I do wish we could've stayed longer. Les mer

It was a small hotel so we were pleasantly surprised by all the extras. The room was on the small side but clean & comfortable. There was complimentary coffee, fruit & Danish available around the clock in the lobby with several indoor & outdoor tables to enjoy them at. Wine & cheese was available for 2 hours in the afternoon along with a nice display […] of cheese, crackers, fruits and nuts. This was followed by complimentary cookies & milk in the evening. They even have bikes with helmets and locks to use at no cost. Breakfast was free as well and very satisfying. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely return! Les mer

Front desk when we arrived was great, accomodating and what a great surprise a wine social with other guests...great way to get local information....rooms were nice but we received a room that the refrigerator door had permanent "brown marks"all over it...seemed strange that overall room was clean and nice (bit dated with decor). Though it's not really by the Harbor the location was easy walking distance to it and an easy drive to all the other attractions in Santa Barbara. The room we had, #41, is a great room, with a kitchen and a patio overlooking the pool. the staff was helpful and the continental breakfast and afternoon snacks, wine, and cookies all helped to make our stay […] there very pleasant,. Hotel staff was wonderful, and all the little extras from wine and cheese to cookies and milk to breakfast were great! A little farther from the warf than I would of liked, but it was not to cold, so the walk was beautiful! NICE HOTEL

This is a up scale Hotel at a very reasonable price. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the bed was beyond what I would have expected. So, so comfortable. A+ on everything.

Great price and location combination. The staff was very accomodating. It is a bit motel-ish, but renovated well and very friendly.

We booked at the last minute after arriving into Santa Barbara about 8 at night.. found a room and booked online and were at the hotel within a half hour or so.. they were nice enough to upgrade us when we arrived which was great, room was huge with a kitchen and great comfy beds.. we ended up booking a second night but on the second night we were awakened […] at 3am by the pillows and bed covered in ants (just small harmless ones but still were biting) so we called reception and they instantly gave us a new room, a bottle of wine and discounted our room for our troubles, it had been raining the whole day and they said that was probably the reason why we had the problem.. overall,even though we had the ant problem, (don't stay in room 16 if it's raining!:) would stay there again, staff were great, breakfast was basic but adequate.. nice setting on the grounds and free parking and internet (altho a bit slow) Les mer

The staff at the Inn By The Harbor could not be more friendly or helpful but the rooms were quite dated. The do have a lovely inner courtyard with a pool and hot tub and the offering of breakfast, wine and cheese and cookies and milk were nice touches.

The Inn by the Harbor was overall a nice place to stay. We lucked out with a double queen room which was pretty spacious and nice for the deal we got. The best parts about this hotel are the complimentary cruisers, movie rentals, and its location. It's right next to the beach and bike path and it took less than 5 minutes to bike to state street. This hotel was great, great location near to the harbour. The staff were amazing, especially frank - he went above and beyound!!! Recommending great restaurants and routes to the next place etc Room was good Amazing perks such as free dvds, free bike hire, freecheese and wine between 4.30-6.30, free milk and cookies and a good free breakfast.

Internet service was terrible. Took a half an hour to print out boarding pass.

Arr early evening and Frank at reception was exceptionally helpful in getting settled and with a great recommendation for dinner......Brophys. Great location to harbour...within walking distance and comfortable rooms w kitchen. We should have stayed longer!

Exactly what I was looking for on such short notice although wish the jacuzzi was a bigger better one

Excellent location, comfy beds, beautiful interior courtyard gardens, good continental breakfast, very warm and helpful staff.

Very friendly and welcoming staff with loads of information about the area to share. Handy location close to the beaches, wharfs and the shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was very nicely located. We took advantage of the complimentary use of bicycles to take a ride to the beach and the evening wine and cheese offering. Staff was friendly and we had a very nice stay.

I stayed at Inn by the Harbor recently for one night, but would gladly return and will plan to do so next time I'm in Santa Barbara. The hotel decor is terrific, particularly facing the street side, and the courtyard. Flowers on the 2nd floor railings are beautiful and the facing tiles on the stairwells are really colorful & interesting. The breakfast […] provided was very nice and enough to get the day started; coffee was great! In particular I appreciated the friendliness of all the staff. Everybody said hello and/or waved to me when I was walking around the motel. This doesn't happen very often (when travelling) and was a nice extra touch. I am so happy I chose this hotel to stay at! It was an incredibly great value. The free breakfast was fantastic - hard boiled eggs, cereals, a full plate of pastries, english muffins, bread, bagels, OJ, milk, fruit, etc. OMG the wine and cheese in the afternoon! They were serving when I arrived to check in and it was fantastic. They refilled the table […] frequently. Wine was quite nice - nothing amazing, but I enjoyed it. Brie and crackers were out. They also had a basket of apples that I chopped up and had with the brie. And then the cookies and milk. Mmm what a nice way to relax at the end of the night. I took one up to my room and ate it while watching TV. The pool and spa were both wonderful. I really liked the staff - they were very friendly and helpful in pointing out all the free things available. You get a lot for your money here. Hotel room itself was really nice. Only downside was that the pipes creaked a little bit when I turned on the shower or tap. Overall, I loved this hotel. And as a single traveler, all the free food saved me from having to make the embarrassing trip alone to a restaurant. Les mer

The staff was superb. The location of this hotel was great, only a short walk to the ocean and restaurants. The hotel facilities, pool and hot tub were well maintained and the surroundings attractive. My son and I very much enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return if we ever visit the area again. very comfortable - I would return to this property - just a note about the first impression, not as excited as I hoped I would be initially, looked like a motel, but the room space and condition were wonderful and a nice morning start with breakfast. This was an O.K. place to stay. The room was clean and attractive and spacious enough. The breakfast was well presented and outdoor seating in the garden area was pleasant.

Great staff. I highly recommend Inn By the Harbor.

I thought (maybe incorrectly) that the hotel was 1-1/2 blocks from the wharf. However, in actuality it was 4-6 city blocks. My girlfriend has muscle problems and so, we only walked it once. For State street and the beach, you will need to probably add about 1/2 mile more to these numbers above. However, the hotel lobby/courtyard, jucuzzi/pool are […] beautiful, the special things that they do during the day for their guests are popular and well received.and the service staff were very helpful. I Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that enjoys walking around and would stay here again.. Les mer

The hotel is a couple blocks from the beach but still easy access and a very nice place to stay. I enjoyed my stay and want to return in the future. Staff were nice also.

Convient location to walk to the pier and a liquor store right across the street!!! Nice continental breakfast in the morning and wine and cheese in the afternoon. Worked for us!

Nice small hotel, a walk to the beach. Nice wine and cheese when we got back from our walk. Our room was on the other side of the wall from the pool. Pool equipment ran all night and room was a little dark but the staff was very nice and helpful.

Really enjoyed our stay

Great location. Walking distance to shops & restaurants. Room was better than expected - large with kitchen. Ammenities were great; wine & cheese, cookies & milk, continental breakfast, free bike rental. Much better than the 2.5 stars it got rated. Everything was clean including pool & jacuzzi. I would stay again.
