For the most part the hotel was ok. The worst part of the stay was registration. It took almost 4 hours before they give us the room key, even though I was told by one of the cleaning people the rooms were ready. They don't give out the keys until 3:00pm Also after waiting 4 hours for the room, they room they give us were disgusting. They were scum […] stains on the sheets and hair & make up on the pillow. Hotel is a very family friendly resort. Beds in rooms were very uncomfortable. Older property that has had significant renovations recently. Food was very good with significant variety. Service was OK, staff seemed indifferent sometimes.
I loved the Holiday Inn i had a fantastic time...would definitely be returning to this resort

Don't expect much and you will be fine. The buffet reminded me of K & W Cafeteria and the service was slow. I understand "Island Time," but the help takes it to an extreme. Needed the toilet unclogged, mainenance never showed up and eventually with lots of flushes I cleared it myself. Our first room was over the playground - moved as soon as we could to something else, it was better, but not much. I will spend more next time and go somewhere with better facillties and better food. "Comfort and Location."
The location of the hotel was great. Easy access to local shopping as well as local Craft stores was just a short walk away. Taxi service was great. "Holiday Inn-Jamaica"
My family and I stayed for two weeks and it was a beautiful resort feeling hotel. The maids and groundskeepers were very kind, especially in comparison to the waitstaff in the large dining room and the food/bar huts. It's just too bad that 1)they aren't trained well or 2)they don't fire staff when they should. How hard is it to smile and say, "Hello, […] How are you?" Also, the front desk did not like to be bothered but the guest/ tour desk was helpful with everything that I needed during out stay. There is great snorkeling off the very small private island next to the hotel beach, daily entertainment, access to laundry, beautiful grounds. Taxis are expensive from the hotel location though so expect that but they have a free shuttle to nearby shopping. The kids club for ages 4-11 worked out great when the kids and us needed a brea with plenty of fun activities during most of the day. The food could be much better at the dining hall buffet but there are 3 optional dinner only restaurants included in the price that were fantastic. This was the worst experience, I stayed only one night. there was loud music all night until 2:30 AM. contacted guest services nothing was done not even an optional room. "FILTHY...need an upgrade"
Bathroom needs upgrade. floors dirty. I hated being in the elevators as they were nasty. Grounds upkeep is lacking. I am happy it was just a two night stay. I couldn't wait to leave.

Very good value for the price. Great support services of entire staff, including dining room. diverse menu and abundance of food. day and night iregular and interactive entertainment. Great for kids. clean rooms, pool and shallow beach for safe bathing for the inexperience swimmer. This is my second stay at this hotel. I got married there in 2009 and remember having a better time. The hotel is getting old and need some work. My room had a leak and i wasn't on the top floor! This hotel is awesome!..I read so many bad reviews and saw nothing of what they said... Don't believe the bad reviews people wrote about....So much food and entertainment to keep you busy. Not to mention the beautiful scenery at the beach. It's a great family resort. Affordable and worth the money. My wife and I was just there for a Week. We had a Huge Oceanfront Suite with 2 Balconies, 2 LCD flat TVs, Very Comfortable King Bed, Large Whirlpool Tub, and too much more to mention. Great Food! "Great Family Resort"
The workers at the hotel were very friendly and warm, i had no complaints. We had everything we needed on the resort, and for the price we paid with taxes included it was a steal. The rooms weren't much to look at but who cares, we spent all our time on the beach.

The Royal Decameron resort needs to be updated/remodeled. The rooms are outdated. The food selection was limited because they need more restaurants on the resort.

"Best All-Inclusive Deal: ALL GOOD!"
We liked it so much here that we extended for another week! We had a room with 2 double beds in Building 4, and everything is BRAND NEW, so any previous reviews about Bldg 4 are moot - they've redone the whole thing. For a family of 4, it's the best deal all-inclusively. Kids are free. We could barely tear our kids away from the Kids Club with all […] the great activities. Food was nice. Liked every single restaurant (all elegant w/ great service). They try very hard with the entertainment and there is never a dull moment here from acoustic groups serenading you at lunch to fun games for kids & grownups in the afternoon & varying groups & acts at night. One thing I LOVE about this hotel is that it's small enough that everything is central so you never walk far and you get to know others staying at the same time (our kids made great friends). They seem to be upgrading everything and the room is comparable to 5 star rooms at other all-inclusives. You never spend a lot of time in your room anyway. Salon/Spa left a LOT to be desired, our only complaint. The attitude there was terrible. Most employees tried hard to please whilst a very few were more standoffish, but the salon/spa takes the CAKE for bad attitude. Laundry facilities are FREE & there is food from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. with varied options, something for everyone including the vegetarians in our party. Free sports activities include tennis, miniature golf, sailing, kayaking, paddleboat, beach volleyball & pool basketball. They really provide everything so you don't need to bring a single thing or worry about anything for the time you're there. One thing that we adored as parents (& other parents did this as well) was putting our kids in the Kids Club for a movie from 7:30 - 9:30 pm after we had fed them at the buffet & then having DATE NIGHT on our own at one of the nice restaurants. "Brilliant stop gap"
We choose this hotel as a overnight stay as we were due to stay in Lucea at the Gran Palladium, and felt the drive from the airport to this hotel after a 10 hour flight would be a little too much. The added bonus was that it was all inclusive so we did not have to worry about food and drinks, The hotel was great; on arrival they were efficient, friendly […] and got us to our room quickly. An added point about this hotel is that we were delayed by 3 days due to the airport closure / adverse weather, which meant that we would loose this booking - the hotel was helpful, made a stressful situation so much less stressful by simply changing our booking dates at no extra costs. The room was spacious, clean, and had all what you may need after a long journey. We were so pleased. We were able to get a good evening meal, despite being tired. There was a wide variety of reasonable tasting food, and opportunity to get late night snacks if required. We would have liked to stay longer and will next time maybe extend our booking. Weak Points: - Our room was close to the nightclub entertainment which was really loud. However the guests sounded like they were having great fun. We were really shattered so fell asleep real quick anyway. For those that don't like too much noise you may consider a room furthest away from the nightlife Les mer

"Our Vacation at the Holiday Inn"
We had a great time, all aspects were good. Our only draw back was the inconvenience of the pool usage. When it was overcast there was no swimming allowed.

The service atvthis hotel was horrible! I travel to Jamaica several times each year and have stayed at many different hotels ranging from 2-5 stars. Overall, the staff at the Holiday Inn was the least helpful or professional' one notable exception was the bartender at the adult pool, Oret, who was both friendly and helpful. "Holiday Inn All Inclusive"
The Hotel was rooms left something to be desired. Our door wouldn't shut half the time, we had a few broken drawers in the dressor, our bathroom tub would not drain......so that part was not the best. However, we were right on the beach. Staff overall was friendly and nice. Food was good. Activities were fun. I would probably stay again.

"Good hotel - expensive services"
It was a nice hotel, but all services such as taxis and tours were too expensive - a taxiride of 5 miles was 30 USD and a 3 hour tour outside the hotel was 100+ USD..
