Trygt og billig alternativ i Hollywood. Hyggelig betjening og god service. Nabolaget er skittent og har mange uteliggere, men dette er tross alt Hollywood. Gangavstand til Hollywood Blvd (Walk og fame) og kun en kort metro tur til Universal Studios.

Vi valgte hotellet pga beliggenheten. Metrostasjon et kvartal fra hotellet, tre holdeplasser til Universal City (Universal Studios). Hotellpersonalet ga veibeskrivelse. Hyggelig restaurant i tilslutning til hotellet hvor du får 10 % rabatt som hotellgjest. Hyggelig og trygt hotell, men ikke så veldig rent.

Sov totalt 3 netter på dette motellet. Beligghenheten var lett og finne frem til, men ligger litt i utkanten av selve Hollywood-sentrum. Rommene bærer preg av at de er vel brukt, men om du ikke har tenkt å tilbringe dagen på rommet så er dette eit veldig billig og greit motell.

The Dunes Inn Hollywood is conveniently located to many of the attractions in Hollywood. Parking and wireless internet are free. Our room was clean and comfortable. The furnishings are a little dated, but the bathroom has been updated very nicely. We were very happy with our stay.

This property is great if you want to be close to the entertainment venues in Hollywood and aren't spending more than two nights. The lobby staff were courteous and very helpful. The downsides are the noisy surroundings (Sunset Blvd. in general) and our room was poorly ventilated. Other than that, I would stay there again.

The room had some updates, but the mattresses need replaced. It was clean and located close to the main attractions. Only downfall was no microwave in the room.

If you are looking for a place just to crash with no frills, this is your place. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was small but very clean. We were only in the room at night to sleep and shower so it was perfect for us. It is very close to the 101 freeway and near the heart of all things Hollywood. Don't stay at Dunes unless you plan on not sleeping. This place was party central on Saturday night, and I was kept awake until 4am. Even the next night wasn't much quieter, as the walls are paper thin. Also the restaurant/lounge is not open weekends??? Apparently even their own folks don't want to deal with the riff raff. Nice rooms, convenient location […] and decent price did not make up for all this. In fact, those are probably the reasons for all of it. Les mer

I loved this hotel. It is an old, inexpensive hotel but the staff was friendly (seemed like it is family-run) and the place was so clean! Improvements could be made to the bedding (thin sheets, comforter and pillows) but the updated bathroom and location to great attractions at an affordable price makes this a great place! I would return.

An older hotel that has been recently been updated including new bathrooms. All but the furnishings are in fresh condition. The furnishings certianly could stand to be replaced. All in all a good value.

Convenient location, rooms were surprisingly well maintained /upgraded compared to what you would expect from the exterior. The attached lounge/diner has good food and friendly service.

The worst place I've stayed at, very dirty,staff not helpful at all. There were hookers outside my room, no iron, terrible place.

First time here, read reviews and decided it was worth it. Great deal, super clean room, recently renovated, super nice staff, very knowleadgable of sorrounding areas, the guy propbably saved us money by giving us transportation advice. Front desk Staff-Curtis was so accommodating and friendly. He even suggested cool places to visit in Hollywood. The food was great at the restaurant nearby and offered 10% discount on hotel guest. It's most convenient and everything is close by. Overall experience was great.

We were content with the stay, and the staff were friendly.but a drawback was that the restaurant next door, which was mentioned in the advertisement, was closed.

I'll give it two stars (one for parking and one because the room was relatively clean), but this place had me frustrated from the moment I checked in. They required a $100 hold on my credit card even though I had already paid for the room upfront. The restaurant/bar/lounge that they advertise (and one of the reasons I picked this particular hotel) is […] actually closed all weekend. The walls were incredibly thin; I hardly got any sleep because I was next to a room of drunken Australian men. There was also an ashtray outside of my non-smoking room, so people would congregate there to smoke. The blinds were actually shutters which did not close all the way, so lights and shadows were let into the room all night. The towels were tiny and worn. The tv channels were primarily in other languages, and the HBO they claim to have, came in fuzzy and hard to watch. And the heater would only blast warm air for 30 seconds about once every 20-30 minutes, so I had to take the blankets off the 2nd bed and use them on mine as well. If you want something better in the same price range, I preferred Hollywood Hotel (a little out of the way, but big, clean rooms and a free breakfast buffet) and Hollywood Celebrity Hotel (which is walking distance to all the action.) Booked an Expedia secret hotel and this was the Hotel, I arrived a few hours before official check in time and was allowed to have a room anyway!! Fantastic for a weary traveller. Rooms were basic and clean. There was a convenience store not far and about a 10 min walk to the busy part of Hollywood Blvd. There was a diner attached to the motel but it […] was never open. This stay was a really good one.. the hotel is located in the heart of hollywood.. a very convenient location. the owners are amazing, we got to meet them.. both are really friendly and very nice to talk with.. also the front desk was very helpful with us.

While the updating of the actual room is superb, the things in it need definite replacing. The bathroom & sink area looks brand new. The bed was hard as a rock, the pillow almost nonexistent & the linens paper thin (towels & sheets). Location wasn't where I expected. I don't think much of anything is in walking distance.

We needed a hotel for a single night. Booked this hotel quickly. Basic but ok. Location was central and good, restaurants were nearby. Room was basic but clean and hotel was fairly quiet. Their own bar and restaurant was closed but with coffee shops just down the road for breakfast that was no problem.

We've come to expect certain things in travel accommodations, and when those things aren't a part of the service, we're disappointed. For instance -- friendly customer service (the clerk was surly); coffeemaker in the room (none); towels that aren't strips of cloth (the worst towels we've ever encountered in a hotel); a continental breakfast (an overpriced […] cafe). If the price was as low as the service, that would be one thing, but the price is such that you would expect the services above to be provided. No such luck here. In addition, the mattress was cheap and uncomfortable; the lighting in the room was horrible (no lamps); and just all around, a not so good experience. Don't waste your money. You'll be unhappy here. Was a bit wary going into the Dunes after reading several reviews. I even brought in my own sheets and towels. But none of that was necessary as the Dunes turned out to be absolutely clean, with a very courteous staff, especially the cleaning ladies, who made sure I had fresh sheets, towels, and toiletries every day. These services, plus the proximity […] of the Dunes to a laundromat, 7-11, Starbucks, etc, makes this one of the best value-for-money places I have ever stayed in. Parking was never an issue as they have reserved slots for their guests. The Dunes lounge, which had friendly waitresses named Dora and Gloria, had a really nice diner vibe as well, perfect for meetings. Bottom line, I would not hesitate to stay here again. Don't believe what people have been saying about the neighborhood. I walked around at night and it was really safe! People who live in fear love to exaggerate and should really stay ensconced in their suites up at the Four Seasons. I saw couples, families, elderly tourists check into the Dunes with no dramas. This was an ok stay for the night. We were staying the night because we had a show to see on Hollywood Blvd. The location was good. No blow dryer or coffee maker. The water glasses were plastic cups. The tv was a tube type with very limited channels, not even local stations were available to watch the news.

Low quality motel, which does not deserve to be on hotels.com list. I stayed in total of 4 hotels, through hotels.com, during this family trip. This was the worst. Smelly, small room. Also hotel seems to attract wrong sorts of people....definitely not the place to stay with family.

Me and my other half stayed for 2 nights, the hotel itself is ok, its clean and the staff are very accommodating, those are the only plus points. Now for the negatives.......the bed was uncomfortable, the walls were so thin in the rooms you felt like you were in the rooms with other guests as you could hear everything that went on, the hotel location […] is abit precarious, very close to "the hood" and we didnt feel very safe walking at night. Finally the value for money was awful, this was a very expensive hotel for what it was. If you are looking for a stop over for one night, then maybe this is a good place, but if you are looking for more than that, i would recommend another hotel. Les mer

The hotel has been renovated and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The air conditioners are new and work well. Overall the Dunes is a good hotel - it is a little pricey for what you get, but I guess that pricey is to be expected in the Hollywood area.

The room I got was not as far toward the back as I had hoped but the windows were double-pane and I had no trouble sleeping.
