the hotel itself was cool. the room was very large with 2 floors was more like a condo than hotel room. the down stairs bar was excellent with live entertainment and great food. the down falls are no air conditionning which the large patio doors open cooled the room down. the patios them selves were a joke(maybe 12 inchs more show than anything). the […] only problem is everyone smokes outside the door of the bar below your room and made alot of noise. the sea gulls were also made alot of noice in the morning so if you close the windows upstairs by the bed and only opened the doors downstairs it was alot better. the parking lot was in the next block which was no big deal. staff was great. i give it a three because of the no air conditionning which in the summer must be unbearable and the noise with the windows open all else was good or great Les mer

Highly recommended. The suite was large and well appointed. Bath was clean and well-provisioned. The restaurant, food, ambieance and service, was so good we ate three meals there.

The noise from the bar kept me up until 2 am and then the noise from the other rooms kept me up for a couple more hours.

The Swan is a fabulous hotel. It is an older building with narrow hallways but don't let that put you off! The rooms are thoroughly updated and very clean. Each is decorated in a unique style. All rooms and the common areas of the hotel are filled wih unique original art work collected by the owner of the hotel. The staff are very helpful and polite. […] The food in the dining room was very good. The hotel is adjacent to a very interesting downtown district which is great for browsing and shopping. The front end staff were very friendly and informative. Our suite was impressive, updated and alot of space made it feel like a condo instead hotel room. I would definitely consider staying again.

From the day we arrived until we left the service was excellent. Wakeup calls, booking of cabs and making dinner reservations were offered with a smile and enthusiasm. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was fantastic. The beds were very comfortable, and it was a nice relaxing place to stay with our family for a weekend in downtown Victoria. Our only downside was the parking, however we opted to park in a lot close to the hotel, as we were downtown hours before check in time. The bonus was we didn't pay for parking […] at all, as we left on a Sunday and there was not parkade attendant. We will most definitely stay again! Les mer

We rented a two bed room suite which was advertised as one bedroom with King bed, second with two single beds and a sofa bed in the living room. The suite we got did not have a King bed instead had a Queen bed and the staff refused to acknowledge about misleading advertisement. Both rooms were small especially room with the queen bed, it was so small […] that bed was in the way of the door so it can not be closed. Hotel does not have free parking but do sell parking for $10 a night but the parking place is one block away. Staff will not tell you but there is a public parking in front of the hotel (Store Road) for $7.50 a night. Worst customer service we ever faced in all these years including our travel to third world countries, only one bright spot and that is hotel’s location. Les mer

Swan's is in a great location. The hotel has a lot of character and the rooms are very well appointed. The bed, though king-sized, was a little uncomfortable. Overall, a fantastic option based on location and room appointments.

Nice music in the pub, staff knows all the good restaurants and shops and are happy to direct you anywhere

Heard the neighbors in the next room quite clearly. The walls are apparently pretty thin. Glad they retired early.

Overall stay was great. It was right in the heart of downtown Victoria and we were able to walk everywhere. It was also a nice size room for 6 people. Definitely would stay again! Plus the front desk staff were very nice!

Great older unique hotel, located in the downtown area in walking distance to all sites. The pub on the first floor of the hotel has great selection of beer and the food is wonderful.

The Swans Suite Hotel in Victoria BC is a wonderful place to stay. I went with my husband sister and brother- in-law. Our room was n the third floor directly across from the elevator. It had a open kitchen living area a loft for the comfortable king bed. My only disappointment with our room was the bath was down on the kitchen/living area. Interesting neighborhood and within walking distance to downtown. We were very pleased with front desk suggestions and helpfulness in organizing our whale watching trip. We loved the huge rooms with all its kitchen facilities and I can't say enough about how clean it was! My one concern would be the lack of privacy between floors. The location was wonderful! Walking distance to food and grocery store and the neighborhood was great! The mattress where hard and old and the sofa-sleeper mattress was unsleepable! If you are paying to sleep then the establishment should have proper sleeping accommodations. Also room service never answered the phone!

Stayed in a king suite here for one night and couldn't have been happier with the place. Incredible room, spread over two floors! Very different to the hotels I normally stay at, but that's what made it so good. Great service too, and the restaurant & brewpub downstairs are a great place for dinner. Excellent. I suspect that we may not have enjoyed our stay at Swans as much if we had been allocated a room above the bar with live music! Our room 305 was well away from the bar. The restaurant and the quality of the food was very good. We were made very welcome by the restaurant manager, Albert.

Swan Suites was a great place to stay , nice and close to down town Victoria. We had a lucious lunch in the dinning room and service was awesome very attentive. We will be back!!!

the room was decent, but that is all that is good for this location. Arrived at night and the first thing we saw was intoxicated people hanging around outside of the hotel. asked the front desk for a room away from the noisey bar. They did give us one furhter away, but there was a industrial kitchen fan just outside my bedroom window. I asked the front […] desk clerk how long the fan would be on, he said until the bar closed and that it needed to be on. The hotel is in need of a remodel asap. This hotel is not worth the money, you can get a much cheaper and better room elsewhere. Les mer

My family and I stayed at the Swans for almost a week, and we did not want to go home...it was an incredible experience. The hotel staff was helpful,and friendly. The rooms were clean,cozy, and beautiful....we can not wait to go back!!!

Swans is great overall. Great location in chinatown. Great restaurant and pub with nightly live music. Clean, updated rooms and friendly helpful staff. I will definitely stay here again with a large party.

Wonderful experience. I grew up in Victoria but now live in Calgary. Always wanted to stay at Swan's. Room was the loft-style. Perfect for a romantic get-away. Also would afford privacy if you were staying with children. Kitchenette was well equipped. Food from the pub was awesome. I was a bit concerned when I showed up as the lobby is quite small and the building is older but the room blew my wife and I away! We had a two level loft. The bed was ridiculously comfortable! The food in the pub was top notch and we had good service.

My wife, daughter and I all loved our stay at the Swans Suites. Huge suite for the price. Very friendly, helpful staff. Location can't be beat (right next to downtown, Chinatown, short walk to museums, waterfront. ) Only concern would be lack of air conditioning if you happen to catch a hot day (rare in Victoria,though). We kept our windows open for […] the nice, cool marine air, and suite had ceiling fan plus two portable fans. Bonus: the restaurant downstairs has great food, everything was fresh and delicious!!! We had a two-bedroom suite, which was great. I only wish there had been one more bathroom and that it was on the upstairs floor with the bedrooms. Also, neither one of our bedrooms had windows. However, they did have skylights that opened. We enjoyed the fact that the adults got a free small beer (and kids a root beer) in the attached brew pub. We enjoyed the hotel with its quirks and all. The bedrooms didn't have the traditional windows but skylights instead. It was very comfortable for our needs. It is one of the "tour" destinations and the busses caught us off guard a couple of times. The tour busses are mostly double decker busses and the tourists can see right in the second story window […] which is the main living/dining room of the room :) It was walking distance to downtown and we did do a lot of walking. Very clean, very friendly. They even moved up our check in time from 4pm to 10:30am! That's unheard of! Also in a great location and proximity to the ferry terminal.

Loved the small front desk area. It had interesting artwork and beautiful detailed woodwork. The lady who checked us in was VERY helpful and friendly. The room was spacious. We wondered why, with all the other amenities they provided, there were no dresser drawers. Had to leave a lot of our clothing in the suitcases. The waitress in the bar was also […] very friendly and helpful - a big plus for us. We were pleasantly surprised by the live entertainment. The night we checked it out, they had a band playing swing music from the 20's and 30's with an active following tearing up the dance floor! It was a lot of fun! Maid service was less than expected. The Swan Suites hotel was very conveniently located; I flew up by the Float Plane (Kenmore Air) from Seattle Lake Union directly to Victoria Harbor, and walked to the hotel. Hotel room was very clean, and the brew pub/restaurant had some great beers (bavarian lager and a pilsner), the Sliders were also very good.
