Boxcar Willie Inn - Branson

Room was clean, hotel staff courteous, maid service prompt. Room interior a bit tired and sported an old CRT TV. Parking on a pretty severe slope makes it a bit tough for physically challenged folks to use their cars, load/unload luggage, etc.

This is a nice hotel with a good location. Close to all attractions, but not right on the strip. It was quiet and we had a nice hillside view! Overall a decent hotel for the price.

We had such a wonderful time! The hotel is very clean and maintained. The pool is awesome!!! All of the employees were welcoming and treated us so great. They couldn't of done more to make our vacation perfect! Thank you and we will be back.

This motel is just a hop skip n jump from the main strip. The hotel was nice and clean. I was there on a quick business trip and got to the hotel early (9:30 am) - I had an 11 am business meeting and the front desk clerk was nice enough to switch rooms for me (since the one I had originally booked was still occupied since check out isnt until 11). That […] act alone shows me that they are customer service oriented. Was the room perfect? No - but it was clean and comfortable. I think we would all like a new flat screen TV and a jacuzzi tub in our rooms - but a lot of us penny pinchers can't afford those luxeries. If we could, we wouldnt be staying at the "less flashy" hotels. Only problem I had was that the hair dryer was very noisy and you could smell that it was overheating and on its last legs. I did notify the front desk and the gentleman did make a note of it. It was clean, the staff was nice, they gave us a free HOT breakfast and it was a nice 2 day stay. If you are hanging in downtown Branson for shows, it's a great place to stay. If you want to spend your time at the lake or at silver dollar city, stay somewhere on Indian Point! 8-) A thumbs up from this traveler, for this specific trip the locatation and hotel was just the ticket! My sister and I went to Branson for the weekend to play. We wanted somewhere that was not to expensive. This hotel was pretty decent for the price. The rooms were comfortable for the price, the tv had cable, you got a REF in your room. Breakfast was cereal, english muffins, fresh waffles, sausage patties and eggs(the eggs were preshaped eggs). So I […] guess you could say it was decent, but I would suggest them to get fresh eggs and maybe some fresh fruit. The Pool was a little chilly, but large and not to many people there. enjoyable weekend stay wanted a place a little off the main drag, but close enough to drive with little effort.

It's not right on the main strip, I thought it would be a bit closer, but I enjoyed it. It was pretty quiet, minus the small dog a few rooms down that barked throughout the night. The pool is just enough to get wet in, but mainly for children (3-1/2 ft. to 4-1/2 ft. deep) They have a 4-6 man hot tub which felt nice after walking around Silver Dollar […] City all day. They also have a small sauna (1-2 people). The complimentary breakfast while not the best I've ever had, wasn't the worst I've had either. It was adequate. It was the first time I've ever been served by an employee for a complimentary breakfast, but it's one way to keep waste/cost down. Not a lot of room to manuever where it was served & not enough seating really. The water pressure wasn't great in the shower, but what hotel usually has great water pressure? I would stay again, though I might request to be placed in a room no where near guests with pets. (No I didn't complain to the front desk, I could have, but to heck with it, I was there for family vacation & enjoying myself I wasn't going to let a little yipper quash my family fun time) I loved the fact that we didn't have room cards, it was real keys. This is something I liked, been a while since I've stayed at a hotel with real keys. All in All - a good stay, the rooms were clean, the neighborhood is quiet, not a lot of traffic, pretty nice view of the surrounding trees from the backside of the hotel, adequate free breakfast & fairly relaxing. Our stay was wonderful. There were very few hotel guest because of the time we went. Mary was very helpful and provided anything we needed. We would stay here again.

We stayed through the Christmas holiday. It was wounderful, we got the Zypher King, with a fireplace in our room! The staff and the hotel were great. kind and very curtious. We got the 3rd floor all to ourselves until the last day; the view of the mountains and the city in the valley were breathtaking. There is actually a cook the prepares breakfast […] for you; and there's a large selection of food items. Price was great! Will be comming back during the summer months to do some bike riding, beautiful, hilly roads to ride! Les mer

Price was very reasonable. Location out of the way yet still convenient. Continental breakfast prepared by an attendant who kept things moving-food offering was okay. Only one ice machine which was inconveniently located. On site shuttle available during busy season but wasn't operating when we were there. I was a little reluctant about staying in such a cheap hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised! The room was nice and I could tell it has been renovated. There was even a fireplace in the room! The rooms are quiet and comfortable. There is a buffet breakfast with biscuits and gravy, waffles, sausage, bacon, etc besides the usual donuts, bagels, cereals! We would definitely stay here again. Breakfasts were wonderful, the kids loved the pool, and for us the location off the main road was great.

This hotel was extremely clean and quiet. Beds were clean and comfortable and there were FOUR pillows on each bed. Every employee that we interacted with was gracious and nice. We loved the breakfast that extended until 10:00am as we like to sleep late on vacation. The food was hot and good and not just a donut as some hotels offer. Hotel was very clean, but overall impressions were middle of the line. The indoor pool was very cold, but the hot tub was nice. The free breakfast was not good at all. The batter for the belgian waffles had soured (I'm guessing here- this is based on the taste of the waffles) and the juice in the machine was bad. took our 3 1/2 yr old granddaughter to branson while my daughter and son in law were on a cruise. had a great time she loved the pool area. the hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. yes it is an older hotel but it is well kept and the room was very clean. the breakfast was not good at all but a clean room and hotel mean more than a free […] bowl of corn flakes! we just went up around the corner on 76 to the plantation restaurant, the breakfast buffet has alot on it and its only 4.99, and the waitresses were soooo friendly, really nice ladies. so in a nutshell we would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others-just skip the breakfast. Make no mistake, this is an older economy hotel but they do it right where it counts. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a nice amenity package (lotion, shampoo, conditioner, make-up remover, shower cap). hairdryer and coffee maker. The a/c and heater looked new and worked very well with excellent temperature controls. There was a refrigerator in the room which was a very nice touch. The breakfast served each morning didn't start until 7:00 a.m which is a little late as hotel breakfasts go but they had an assortment of muffins, juice, biscuits and gravy, cereal, sausage and eggs (the eggs left a bit to be desired as they were pre-formed patties and somewhat dry) but all in all it was good. The pool is large and there is also a sauna in the room. There is a guest laundry on the first floor. Ask for a room facing the hills as the view is beautiful. The staff was very helpful and efficient. I would definitely stay there again, especially if I were planning to go to the shows on hwy 76 or take children to Celebration City. Both are very close. If you are looking for a good value with all of the basics done well, I would highly recommend it. Les mer

this motel was great for the price. Rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hot Breakfast on the other hand was less than we exspected. The serving room was way too small and food was cold and of a poor quality. The indoor pool got a ten star from the grandbaby.

I rated this hotel 5of5 based on the price. It is not a 5 star hotel, but very nice. We were looking for a cheap place to stay for the weekend. We got exactly what we wanted. It is right on the Yellow route in Branson. You could get anywhere you wanted to go and avoid most traffic. The rooms were very roomy compared to what we expected. They had a […] full dresser with mirror and an armoire with the TV. Lots of room to put your stuff. The bath tub was small, but typical. The bathroom counter was nice and long. Good if you have girls getting ready. The pool was big and 3ft deep most the way across (we have small kids and they could touch. The breakfast that was included was good (biscuits & gravy, saus&egg sandwich, bagels, engl muffins, etc.). It was all free, we just tipped the cook. They also had FREE wi-fi. Some places charge, but they just give you the code when you check in. We may stay there again in the winter since the pool is indoor. Les mer

ROOM WAS BIG ENOUGH, BUT IIT SMELLED LIKE ANIMAL URINE , MAID CAME AND SPRAYED A COUPLE AREAS OF CARPET, LOTS OF ANIMALS AT THIS MOTEL, PROBABLY WON'T STAY AGAIN

We arrived at the hotel with the idea that we would have a king room, non smoking, no pets. Instead we had 2 queen beds, it was non smoking but had a really bad odor of pet urine and poop. We called hotels dot com and requested a refund and stayed at another hotel. We wouldn't reccommend anyone stay there. Was very dissapointed in the hote.

hotel was nice, close to main strip and all shows, easy to find, breakfast was good, pool had a little too much chlorine. One of the beds sank when you got in-needs a new mattress. Overall enjoyed the stay and would come again.

This is our second stay at Boxcar Willie Inn. We really like it. I like the privacy of being "off the beaten path". The mountain view is fantastic. Everyone was friendly, and we were treated well.

The hotel lobby staff and cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. The A/C wouldn't work properly in our first room and they were very willing to get us into another room. The room was clean and comfortable. NOW breakfast was a whole different story! Eating area was extremely small and a rather nasty looking guy was attempting to "cook" the sausage […] and fake egg patties while scratching his belly! TRUE STORY!!! SO...I recommend not eating their breakfast. The hotel was a bit further off the beaten path than I anticipated, but not too far. Les mer

This hotel is 3 blocks South of the busy 76 Highway, so a much quieter and peaceful neighborhood, while still very convenient. Easy access to alternate (parallel to 76 hwy) route. Large, nice indoor pool. Very nice staff. Clean and comfortable enough, and a good value.

Our first impression was good. Front desk staff was great. We got a handicapped room because my mother needs assistance. It was to slanted on parking lot closes to room so we had to park on other side which was a bit of a walk for her. The room was ok. I saw one roach on the wall, the refrigerator leaked water allover the floor and there was NO water […] pressure so showers took a little longer. The pool was great except for the chlorine was overpowering. Overall the hotel worked for us but I will not be staying there again. Les mer

It was our first stay there, and we were very satisfied. The bed was very comfortable, and we had a complete breakfast served in the morning. The staff was very friendly as well. We had a little trouble keeping our window blind completely closed as it wanted to keep gapping open on one side. Otherwise, we were completely satisfied. We stayed 2 nights at the Box Car Willie Inn and it actually was a great place. At first the name of the place made me a little leery, but it exceeded our expectations by far. The rooms aren't the fanciest, but the beds are really comfortable, good water pressure in the shower, and the breakfast was actually very good to be included in the low price. […] We will stay there again very soon. I would say that this is a great hotel with reasonable rates for what you get. It is not the cheapest in Branson, but remember you get what you pay for. This hotel offers great value for the money. It is a little hard to find the first time visiting but then since it is several hundred yards from the main strip its also less congested to get to. The […] only negative is AVOID THE ELEVATOR AT THE REAR OF THE PROPERTY AT ALL COSTS, it has a mind of its own and stops on every floor and continually opens and closes the door when noone is riding. Take the stairs or if mobility is an issue make sure you get a ground level room. The rest of the property appears to be well maintained and kept up. The Pool area is very nice and clean, The rooms were very nice and clean and we loved the Train theme throughout the property. The Breakfast was good as contiental breakfasts go. They offered the normal fare inlcuding hot waffles, a Egg & saugage patty you could eat alone or make a breakfast sandwich out of. The desk staff was friendly and efficent. We had a electric fireplace in the room which was a nice touch as well. Great Views from the rooms at the rear of the property and nice atmosphere around the entire property. Les mer

Very quiet location, very friendly, very clean, friendly breakfast server helped me with some car trouble I had. I do recommend this motel and will stay here when we go back.
