So convenient. Can walk right out your door to the shops and restaurants. One block from the beach.

We Love LaJolla, spent many weekends there with family or just the 2 of us. The hotel was small and pricey. Yet there was no true accomidations to brag of. The room was small for the price, and to make matters worse the bed was something we talked of throwing out the window and sleeping on the floor.

The La Jolla Inn was a comfortable hotel. The room was not luxurious by any means but it was fine. I would have liked to see a desk in the room for people travelling for business etc. The rate you are paying for here is the location. It is a 2 minute walk to the La Jolla main street where all the food and shops are. The beach is about a 5 minute walk. […] The 'Cove' is nothing to rave about infact I was disappointed the other end of the beach where all the seals are and is much more pretty and enchanting. The service at La Jolla Inn was fantastic, the girls at reception were more than happy to help with any questions and to provide tourist information. I really did have a pleasant and comfortable stay at La Jolla Inn, thank you! Les mer

This lovely European style hotel is located in the heart of the seaside village of La Jolla. It's only one block to the beach and parks, and directly in the middle of the commercial district with an incredible number of restaurants and boutiques. Ask for a room with a balcony. Breakfast is served on the roof deck patio or in your room. Great value.

Perfect location - great roof top and room views of the ocean. Water damage on the room ceiling. Beds are far to soft and lack support. Staff was very nice and accommodating. A fair value for the cost per night based on location.

Over all the hotel is quite nice. The room was small but well appointed and comfortable, the deck is small and not very private from your neighbor but it has a lovely view of the water. The morning meal was not quite what I expected from the promotion the hotel gave, bagels and such bought from Costo and rewarped in plastic wrap. This hotel is fine, but leaves some things to be desired. Nice walkable location and affordable. Also has ocean view rooms. However, the rooms are small and the mattress is like sleeping on a block of jello. They try to up-sell you on all sorts of things which is annoying. The staff is mostly good but there were some misses. Bottom line, I would try […] other hotels before staying here again. Les mer

The room was a little small, but very clean with a comfortable bed and pillows - the location was ideal - close to shopping, restaurants, and great places to walk near the water. I will definitely go back.

My mother and I stayed at the La Jolla Inn for a night. The location was wonderful...but the Inn was not. We had no hot water... in fact, it was barely warm, even thought we let it run for several minutes. This was the situation both at night and the next morning. We spoke with Michelle, the manager. She told that there was nothing wrong with the shower […] and there was nothing she cared to do to make restitution. She was unfriendly and unhelpful. I could have tolerated no hot water - but not the condescending and rude attitude. Les mer

The room was like a closet and the hotel is not very accommodating on helping you upgrade - they would rather you be uncomfortable. The pics were misleading, the parking it two blocks away, the front desk staff is just not very people or guest oriented except by the book - I much prefer accommodating hotels who would rather give you a $20ish upgrade […] than let you be uncomfortable when the rooms will be vacant that night anyway - you get what you pay for folks. Nice location for the town. Only issue is the night club down the street the bar fly, the music at night is loud. With the windows closed the it is stuffy but quite. I like the hotel and the staff. The town is a great place for a get away. I definitely will return to the hotel again.

I was very disappointed with the overall hotel here. First off, I ordered a double room and received a single with a queen bed. Which was not appropriate considering the room was housing my mother and boyfriend (who then stayed at my dorm with me). There were also cockroaches and the television was having problems (half the channels didn't have sound, […] and those that did would be in English then go to commercial and be in Spanish). Les mer

The room and bathroom were a bit small, but the location was perfect. We got a good deal on the room, but I would definitely stay there again at the same price.

We stayed in the street level room- great location. Bed was comfy, room was clean, walk-in closet and dresser, lots of hangers. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast on the roof top patio- amazing views. Hotel staff was very nice and knowledgable. Would definetly recccomend this hotel. Parking was only $5 day and unlimited in/outs!

Beware that if you get the small rooms they are the size of a closet! Ceilings are also low so if it even feels more claustrophobic. TV size is also too small to watch any TV. Breakfast great but outdoor deck was closed due to painting so had to satisfy myself having breakfast in the closet! They don't bring coffee to the room so even though they bring […] it to your room you have to head out and back in to the hotel to serve yourself!!! Great! If you are a heavy coffee drinker good luck with your trips back and forth. Les mer

Bed Not Too Comfortable If this is what it looks like after 1,000,000 remodel...glad I didn't stay prior. LIttle Kitchen is nice but not useful. You are in La Jolla...your not cooking pancakes in your room (or even waffles in the toaster) as there is not a stove! Its a sink dorm fridge and a glass table. Patio outside is useless as the chairs are […] too low to see over your WALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry but this needs to be bulldozed down and made into a nice corner green space or Authorized Rolex Dealer Botique. Les mer

Location was good, but I had made a request for 2 queen beds and received 1. I requested a view but oh well! Tube surface slopes, making it slippery so be careful, but location convenient.

While the staff was friendly and nice the condition of the hotel is obviously bad, with lights not working, a toilet that barely flushed, a sink area with very little space to set things, a shower that worked weakly, a window that would not stay up when opened, a noisy refrigerator, a very loose toilet seat, and carpeting in need of replacement. We […] also did not appreciate taking up the only table space in the room with a mini bar. The convenience store also would not take a debit card/ credit card unless the charges were for more than ten dollars and the ATM machine wanted to charge $3.50 to extract cash. Les mer

Positive aspects: 1) conveniently located in La Jolla village, close to ocean, shops and transport; 2) relatively clean; 3) staff were pleasant and helpful; 4) adjacent to small store; 5) nice view towards ocean (at an angle, from balcony in top-floor "ocean view" room); 6) simple complementary breakfast was included. Negative aspects: 1) susceptible […] to street / club noise on Friday and Saturday nights (otherwise quiet); 2) limited sound insulation between adjacent rooms; 3) interior is in need of remodeling (e.g. older fixtures, has room keys rather than cards). 4) the complementary breakfast requires a trip to the "library" for use of the toaster and coffee. (On two mornings out of seven, no coffee was left by 8:30am.) Overall: A satisfactory stay, given the location, if you are happy / able to ignore some noise occasionally. Les mer

I stayed at the Inn while attending a friend's wedding in La Jolla, and considering the location the price and amenities were very adequate. There is a very nice complimentary breakfast as well as complimentary parking, albeit several blocks away in an underground garage. The rooms are small yet comfortable, and certainly the room I paid for wasn't […] their nicest. I did run into an issue with the handle for the shower falling off while I was using it, so I can't say that the level of maintenance was superb, but otherwise the place was clean and, perhaps most importantly, quiet. I would stay there again if I'm in La Jolla on a budget. Les mer

It was a very nice place to stay. But the beds need to be replaced, they have seen better days. I will for sure return to the La Jolla Inn in the future.

We loved the location and the hotel was exactly as described. The rooms were very compact but clean. It was a short walk to the seawall and wonderful views from the roof top patio! Street parking was easy to come by so we did not have to use the hotel parking, about 2 blks away. The breakfast options were terrific, and they served it to our room or […] if you chose, it would be delivered to the patio. Great value!! Les mer

PERFECT LOCATION! It was a pleasant one night stay. I was concerned when I saw some comments about the thin walls. We were there during the week so it was very quiet during the night. The free parking and breakfast served at rooftop was a plus. If you expect a modern and trendy decor, this place might not be for you. It is cozy and small..... our room […] was on the ground floor around the corner, across from the bar. It was clean and sufficient for our needs. We didn't spend tons of times in the room. One NEGATIVE is the ripped off price at the convenience store / items offered for purchase in the room. We needed a few things and everything was priced almost trippled the orig price. I realized it was our fault for being forgetful but having to pay the hefty price tags on these little things left us bitter taste in our mouth. Les mer

Everything works out for me, except the fact that their office close at 12am, and you will not have any kind of services after that time. Next is the internet, said to have wireless, but never had one. But they do have free Ethernet provided for customer. Even if they say that there may be a chance of wireless in the room, just get the free Ethernet […] wire from them. (yes, you'll need to leave a deposit) Beach is very close by as you can see the ocean once you step out of your room. Parking around the inn may be difficult during the day and early evening. The hotel is like eating at Denny's: convenient, close to everything, not somewhere you would take a date. It couldn't be more central to everything but a two star hotel.

This hotel being located in a night life location was very, very noisy until the bars close.

Great value location in La Jolla Cove. Conveniently located, with beautiful views of the beach and easy access to great restaurants and pubs.

...the difference between Ocean view and ocean front. The hotel is conveniently located and good overall, but we were really looking for and ocean front room. We got a lil balcony but you have to stick your head out to see the ocean. For the price, I think you could find something with a better view.

Best possible location to restaurants, shopping, the beach and the cove. The Prospect Grill across the street was great. Julie @ the front desk was exceptionally helpful. Upgrade to the ocean view rooms. Totally worth the view.

Hotel is in the very convenient location, however there are many things that are not too great: rooms are small and poorly furnished; awful chlorinated tap water is served for your breakfast tea and coffee. How difficult is to get a cheep water filter at least for the beverages? The hotel is surrounded by the busy streets and it is very noisy day and […] night. We paid for a room with ocean view and a balcony, but couldn't even open windows because of the noise coming form the street. Great proximity to La Jolla Cove and Village. Staff was very helpful and enjoyed cookies and breakfast served in room and on sundeck. Balcony made enjoyable site for reading and relaxing.
