A small and friendly hotel a little over 5 minutes walk from city centre. Very stylish, nice enviroment and good food!

On arrival we were welcomed by friendly staff and we got upgraded to a luxury suite from a standard double room for no extra cost. The room was modern and clean with a very spacious en-suite. The only downside was that the bar, although new and brilliantly decorated, is rather on the small side and can get busy in the evening. It is superbly located and i would highly reccommend The Churchill Hotel.

Slightly quirky, fabulous hotel. Room beautifully decorated with high ceilings, very comfortable bed. Staff really helpful and efficient. Will definitely return if in York

Myself and my partner just spent 2 days in York staying over at The Churchill Hotel and can highly recommend it. The hotel is in a great location for a city break in York just being a 5 minutes walk from the Castle Walls which go all around the city center. We stayed in the Superior Room and whilst it was not the largest or cheapest I have ever stopped in you won't find anything that much cheaper so close to everything and with parking included. Only downside was that were working on the roof to the entrance and was a bit of smell of tar coming in the room, but as we were out all day it didn't affect us and we couldn't smell it at night. Highly Recommended

Good location. Easy taxi ride from the train station and just a short walk to historic sites, shopping and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were only there for one night, but would have been comfortable with a longer stay. Our room was clean and had a modern bathroom.

This is a most impressive looking hotel. Extremely friendly staff were very helpful. newly built room was very clean but rather small and the double bed felt particularly cramped. great bathroom with really good shower, but no shaver point (for electric toothbrush). Dissappointingly there was no lounge, although there was a bar, but nowhere to sit and relax, particularly as room was so small. Fee parking was real bonus. All in all very good value if you don't mind being a bit cramped.

Well maintained in a residential-like area but close to city center. Pleasant staff. Some minor problems with adjusting the heat in the room. I plan to stay here again.

the staff were friendly helpful and accomodating, the hotel was clean and smart and well decorated the room was comfortable and clean. the shower was fantastic and there was plenty of clean towels. the hotel was as it appeared on the website and appeared to me to be of a better standard than a three star hotel. was well situated in relation to york city centre. overall incredibly impressed with the hotel.

Fantastic hotel, contemporary interior. Little touches like individual rolled hand towels in the toilets makes you feel like you are in a very special hotel. Very very clean. Cant fault, although prices in restaurant are high so ate out Great parking facilities saves you from paying to park in York

Stayed at the churchill enjoyed the break the hotel staff was very helpful plenty of tea, coffee ect just ask and they bring it to your room very quickly. The position of the hotel is about 10 min walk to the minster.

Excellent location close to centre of York. The standard double bedroom was very compact, and walls were thin so you could hear all surrounding noise - worth bearing in mind as there are a lot of functions held there and the cleaners are very noisy. Concierge was excellent - friendly and gave great advice about where to visit. Hotel restaurant also very good.

Hotel was wonderful, great location only 10 mins work from York Minster & attractions. Staff very friendly. Only negative was we wanted to pop to the bar for a drink only to be told it only opened at 6pm as the staff had all been sent home. Seemed a little strange for a hotel to have shut bar at 3.30pm on a Sunday! Didn't spoil the experience however, would defintely stay there again.

Nice hotel with very clean, but small, rooms. The heating system is noisy but apart from that we would definately stay here again. Only a couple of minutes walk from the City Centre with good onsite parking.

The hotel and room was clean and quiet, definitly recomend. We had a room looking out over the Minister with an original wooden four poster bed. We did notice that other rooms had a newer four poster and a batch in the bedroom aswell as a en-suite.

The Churchill is a lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Close to the heart of York it's only five minutes walk away from the Minster and all the wonderful shops and restaurants. Our room was beautifully decorated and spotless, with added luxuries in the bathroom. The bed was more comfortable than my own! For those who want to know we stayed in 10 Downing Suite, which has a massive four poster bed with a flat screen TV conveniently placed on the wall opposite. Would definitely stay at the Churchill again.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by a member of staff who was very pleasant and straight away said he would give us a bigger room when he saw how tall I was (6' 5''). The room (Clementine Suite) had just been redecorated, had been kitted out with new furniture and bathroom suite. Overall the hotel was great. Clean and tidy, wonderful decor throughout the beautiful building. I couldn't fault it. We have already planned another trip to York and will be staying thre again.

The Churchill is a great hotel, very clean and friendly staff - it's a short walk into the town centre which is a bonus!

We had a pleasant stay in this beautiful hotel. Satff is very dedicated and friendly. Room really nice designed , no details left out. Very close to town centre. Would go there again
