Cardinal Hotel St Peter - Roma

Lite, men fint hotell som ligger en drøy halvtimes gange fra vatikanet. Servicen var meget god! Hotellet lå skjermet for støy og trafikk, til tross for at det ligger ganske sentralt. Eneste lille minus var frokosten, som ikke var all verden. Alt i alt et bra hotell!

Positive: Swimming pool where you can relax a few hours - if you visit Rome during summer. Nice balcony (if you order superior room) with a view of St. Peters basilika. Pleasant staff. Wonderful roof terrace. The evening grill buffet can not be recommended. Breakfast buffet was OK. Negative: Very hard beds, small rooms (even superior rooms). Othervise, […] rooms were excellent. Lunch in the restaurant was expensive and just terrible - salad which was leftover from day before, and hamburgers that were not properly cooked, also very boring. 10-15 min from Metro station. If you want to go by bus other places that the Vatican city, you need to change bus. The area around the hotel: no restaurants open in August (except McDonalds). Les mer

Lite imøtekommende personal, grei beliggenhet (litt i utkanten av severdigheter), grei frokost og hotellstandard.

Gammelt og slitt, forferdelig mat. Frokost bufeen var til å gråte over. Hyggelig betjening dog, som prøvde å gjøre sitt beste. Internett tilgangen var variabel.

Hotellet hadde god standard og lå i relativt rolige omgivelser. Kort gangavstand til Vatikanet gjorde også beliggenheten perfekt. Nærmeste metrostasjon lå ca. 10 min fra hotellet, og med avganger hvert 4-5 min når du det meste av Roma sentrum på kort tid.

Hotellet hadde svært bra standard og gav mye for pengene. Det var stille og rolig og et perfekt sted å slappe av etter å ha fartet omkring i Roma en hel dag. Dersom man vil at hotellet skal ligge nærmere sentrum synker standarden og prisene øker betydeligere. Hotellet ligger tyve-tredve minutters spasertur fra Vatikanstaten og er et godt utgangspunkt for sightseing dit. Det er basseng i hagen og boblebad på takplan til avslapping, deilig i august i Roma. Rommene har bra standard og er godt rengjort. Balkongterassen var et pluss.

Hotellet var greit nok, pluss at det var svømmebasseng i hagen. (Det var hetebølge da vi var der). Fantastisk flott takterasse med bar. Jeg er allergisk, og reagerte på muggelukten som kom fra badet. Flott og greit hotel dersom du ikke må bo i sentrum, men dårlig frokost

The hotel is modern as it doesn't have any of the ancient Italian aspects we expected in a European hotel. The staff was pleasant. The rooms were small but nice. The location was a short (and slightly costly) taxi ride from the center of Rome. But the hotel staff were able to get taxis there in less than 5 minutes. The breakfast was good and plentiful […] Italian food. Overall, we would recommend this hotel to others except for the distance from all the sights of Rome. We also had a problem checking in early. Our flight arrived in Rome at 9:30am and by the time we got to the hotel after 10:30am we had to wait until 1pm to check in. Positive: value for money, for 3 persons we got an attractive price - quite the same price as B&B in center of Rome and that we thought for a 4 star hotel! Negative: This is not 4 star hotel as it claims, but hardly 3 star. On foot it is quite far away from underground metro stations (nearest metro is approx. 1 km away), and it is generally quite far […] away from city center. Although there are buses which stop nearby (approx 200 m from hotel) and take you to Vatican and downtown. The staff is generally OK, but messed up with rooms. We booked a Family room, however we got a standard Double + 1 extra bed. It was obviously not what we expected. Didn't see much eagerness from staff to change the room when we pointed this out. Except from being DBL and not Family - the room was OK, however next morning I found a horde of nasty little ants on a toilet seat, on a floor, running up my feet (!) Next day they got much fewer and after didn't see them. I suppose ants occupied the bathroom as nobody lived in the room before us for a long time. The breakfast is filling with scrambled eggs, ham, stewed fruits, yogurts, cereals etc. However there were no fresh fruits except apples, no vegetables at all, and croissants where not croissants, but something else. It is all the same day after day, so on the second day it got boring. Anyway the breakfast could be better, but not much bad. As we were in winter the pool was not working. Resume: If you need a place to stay in Rome - have a look at B&Bs in the city center for the same price, it will be more convenient, although not quiet at nights and not much comfortable. Les mer

Tiny Room and no free Internet in the Room.Also no Metro Staion nerby the Hotel, it is afar away from the closeist Staion.

I found this Hotel online and booked it due to the unbelievable rate. As far as value for money goes, it is definitely worth it. Not near any of the tourist sites, but a 20min walk gets you to the Metro from where to explore and get to all destinations. The room was extremely small (as is most other european hotels) but clean. The AC in the room did […] not work which made it stuffy at night. The Restaurant is extremely basic so do not arrive hungry. Tough call, but if you are looking for value for money, and will only use your room to sleep in, not scared of walking and taking on the Metro, it is definitely worth a look. Have fun (-: Les mer

Modern facilities and bath, great balcony views of St Peter's. Convenient location that is well connected by city bus to all major tourist locations. Staff is very courteous and helpful. Highly recommended.

Biggest problem we had is not being able to Check in until 2 p. Most US flt arrive early Mornning. Location not too convenient, but subway a quick bus ride away. Nice hotel for the price. Breakfast pretty good

Positive: 1.General cleaning and the rooms - Excellent 2.WI-FI without problems Negative: 1.I was looking for a hotel in most hotels had registered "does not include city tax" out specific hotel that was listed and highlighted, "including all taxes." I had to pay it. 2.Location not very convenient. Nearest metro station 15 minutes walk with the ups […] and downs. By the way that line (A) works until 21:00. Bus 916 close but there were times Schach waiting up to 40 minutes. 2.Breakfast very basic.for exsample: sausages two types. One type cheese. All this on 2 platters.no salad 3.The walls between the rooms "You hear everything." You can hear all the noises and moans ..... 3.Reception service "perfunctory." I can stand 10 minutes until he finishes something and ask what I need. after check in I asked for a room change. He told me to come in the morning. In the morning he said come back later. After that, he said there were no rooms (there were people in the morning). Then he said to get a permit. I asked his replacement What happens with the approval ..... did not even know what it is ... By the way before I wrote them a letter request to let a room with a beautiful view (as possible) that I surprise my wife's birthday. Enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Very central location for Vatican and surrounding sights. Very comfortable. Staff friendly and accomodating. Food very good.

Hotel Cardinal St Peter does look a little bit like a large youth hostel from the outside but inside the rooms are very clean and well maintained. Breakfast a little disappointing - largely pre-prepared/tinned goods etc Staff generally friendly although not very adaptable - e.g. would not open a second table in restaurant when all the rest were filled […] by a large tour group. It is a reasonable walk to the nearest Metro station (either Cornelia or Ubaldo Degni Ubaldi) which is a bit of a pain with a suitcase. Overall, not bad (mainly because of nice room). Les mer

A very nice hotel. Convient to Rome once you figure out the bus (just outside the property) and Metro (about a 15 minute walk to the stop)..1-2 Euros to downtown Rome versus 20 Euro taxi fare made it worthwhile to figure it out and male the walk .. My stay in the Hotel was all I wanted it to be except one evening the Internet connection was lost and […] not available (for 9 hours) until the next morning when staff came back to work. Very clean. My room was perfect and the staff was friendly.. I did not eat or drink in the hotel so I cannot comment on that. There were several neighborhood eateries close by ( 5 Minute walk) including a McDonalds for those looking for some Americana fast food. Les mer

The only thing that let this hotel down was the unfriendliness of a couple of the reception staff. Given the discount that I got, this was amazing quality. It lived up to its star rating and the cleanliness of the room was very good. Good location, several buses to the centre of the city and night buses.

A reasonable hotel and OK night rate for Rome. Good enough for a business stay. We actually stayed 2 nights separated by 2 nights further south in Italy. The first room on the 3rd floor was smaller but quieter. The 2nd was on the ground floor near to the lobby. A little noise but nothing excessive. For a place to lay your head when on business in Rome.. not bad. For a holiday stay, maybe somewhere more central. By warned if driving in.. the one way system around the hotel is a real pain. Looking at a map, come in from the West and just above Via Leone. The turning looks like a no entry because of damage to the road. It's the right turn just after the petrol garage. We loved this hotel, the breakfast was really nice and the staff was very helpful. The bus is one block away. It's about a 30 minute walk to St. Peters. or a 10 minute bus ride. The beds are a little firm but other than that the place is very nice.

This hotel is a little difficult to find but offers lots of parking. The rooms seem to vary a lot - from a small apartment to a broom cupboard. There are no facilties to speak of, such as a bar or a restaurant - but plenty within a short walk. If you have a car this is a convenient spot.

If you want a hotel with a balcony, a quiet location and a view of St. Peter's Basilica, look no further. The staff were friendly and the hotel was truly lovely and only a 20 minute walk from Vatican City. The bus to the other major sites stops at the bottom of the hill.

Nice modern decor in the lobby and rooms. Clean and quick elevators, although tight for four people. Internet in the room for a price but convenient to have and pay movies for a 24hr period. Always someone behind the desk that spoke English. Easy check in. Far away from metro and attractions. Clean and simple hotel.

We noticed there was no information about how to get to the Vatican. We had to ask people on the street how to get there, but we made it.

Some of the front desk staff was nice and tried to help when problems arose (see later), but others were very unhelpful, gave us wrong information, or told us to ask elsewhere (as in at a tourist information, in the city.) The nearest metro station is 1 km away, otherwise, you need to take a bus into the city, and figuring that without help is a challenge […] (the front desk doesn't a bus map, which is necessary). The neighborhood is very calm, but nearly everything except the McDonald's is closed in August. The breakfast at the hotel is atrocious, with artificial orange juice, overcooked eggs, bread that feels it's from yesterday, undercooked bacon swimming in fat, overly sweet pastries... only yogurt is palatable. We had a problem with our mini bar (it didn't work) and it never got fixed. While trying to fix it, they broke the air conditioning, which took 2 days to get fixed. They do not have ice to give out, should you need some in your room, and one morning they didn't have any butter for breakfast. The rooms are spacious and clean, with amenities at a 4* hotel level, but I wouldn't stay there again because it's too far and inconvenient, and getting help is a too much of a challenge. Les mer

The hotel itself is very pretty. On the roof there are 3 jacuzzi tubs with a gorgeous view. Our room was very neat and nice except the beds were as hard as rocks. The staff was super nice and most helpful. The hotel is a minute walk from a main busstop which is how i reccomend you travel.

The Cardinal Hotel was a great, modern hotel. The airconditioning was so good I had to turn it down. We were there during a very hot time and it was nice to have air and a pool. The breakfast was very good compared to the other 10 hotels I have stayed in Europe. The beds were no more hard than any other European hotel. The Cardinal Hotel was great. The staff was friendly and they spoke English. The hotel was a okay walk anything esle was a bit of a hall. The room was clean and one of the largest we stayed in during our trip. The breakfast was great with lots of choices.

The hotel itself was nice, it needs more updates, and there is a lot of wasted space. The hotel staff is extremely nice, and helpful. The bed is very uncomfortable, the pillows are very thin. We stayed for 8 nights and by the last night I couldn't even stand my back hurt so bad, I am only 23 and in great shape. The pool is decent and the roof top spas […] are nice but very cold, we were there is the begining of Sept. so its extremely hot there. The breakfast was awful, I am not a picky person by any means, just go outside the hotel to eat any meal. To be honest I would possibly consider staying there again, for the price and staff. Its is decorated very nicely. The only other issue I had was the location, far from everything, we took taxi's every where and it was quite costly. I would recomend it, if you don't mind the few little issues it has. For the price you really can't beat it. I just know next time, I will stay in the city! Les mer

The hotel is very new with very beautiful marble bathrooms. Its location is quiet but requires a taxi for all trips since it is not very near to restuarants or the Metro. The staff is busy, so patience is required when asking questions.

The hotel staff is a little short (usually only one at a time) most times of the day but they were helpful and friendly. The maid service was exceptional. The breakfast was average cappuccino from a machine is certainly not Italian. The room was clean, and very pleasantly ornamented. It was very quiet and comfortable - more than adequate. Two English […] channels on TV (BBC, CNN International and MTV which was realy the Italian music channel). The people at the front desk were very rude and not helpful at all. One instance, I had to make four trips to the front desk from my room because my key would not work.They told me I didn't know what I was doing. The maintence couldn't make it work either. great service, very helpful personnel, walking distance to Vatican city. to get to any point of Rome center by taxi cost about 8-10 euro. free parking in hotel helps to all travelers who has a car. confusing system with electricity-you have to use key card in order to turn your light on/off:)

Très bon hôtel, petit déjeuner copieux et chambre propre. Seul hic l'hôtel est en rénovations mais aucun effet négatif sur le confort de la chambre ou le service de la part du personnel.

Das Hotel ist älteren Baujahres, hat aber sehr schön renovierte Zimmer mit ordentlichen, modernen Bädern und gemütlichen Betten. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig, der Kaffee könnte besser sein. Das Hotel liegt in einer Nebenstraße zur Via Gregorio VII, einer Einfahrtsstraße nach Rom, vorbei am Vatikan.Vom Straßenlärm war aber nichts zu hören, das Hotel […] liegt in einer ruhigen Wohngegend. Dank der Via Gregorio VII ist die Busanbindung sehr gut, Linie 916 und Linie 571 fahren direkt in die Stadt, vorbei am Vatikan über den Corso Vittorio Emauele II bis zur Piazza Venezia (Nähe Forum Romanum - Linie 916) und vorbei am Kolosseum (Linie 571) bis zur Piazza die Porta Maggiore. Останавливались в отеле с 01-5.01.2012. Прежде всего это важно для этого периода - это теплый номер. Все чисто, аккуратно. Завтраками стандартны для Европы - буфет, яйца. Очень хорошие включенные в стоимость опции -подземная парковка и интернет. Правда интернет только на ресепшн и каждый день новый пароль. Воющем, идеальный отель за эти деньги. eignet sich herrvorragend für ein Städtetripp, relativ central gelegen und sehr ruhig. Die lauen Sommerabende kann man gut auf der Dachterasse ausklingen lassen. Das Zimmer war schön und sauber, hervorragendes Bett. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist nicht der Hit auch der Frühstücksraum selber ist sehr ungemütlich. L'hôtel est un peu à l'écart du centre ville, un peu loin du métro (15 bonnes minutes avec les bagages...), ce qui complique l'accès à l'arrivée, quand on connait mal le système des transports en commun. Ensuite, cela s'arrange car un système de bus permet d'accéder au centre ville en un quart d'heure environ. La fréquence des bus est aléatoire, mais […] comme plusieurs lignes amènent au centre ville, c'est assez pratique. Le très gros avantage, c'est la piscine, pour l'été, c'est vraiment bien de pouvoir se rafraîchir, ou au contraire prendre le soleil. Les chambres sont très confortables, le petit déjeuner copieux... Eu e minha esposa nos hospedamos neste hotel no início do ano e tudo ficou do nosso agrado. Nosso apartamento possuia varanda com vista para a piscina e cidade do Vaticano. Recomendo pois pela relação custo x benefício vale a pena.

Het hotel was opzich prima, jammer is dat we ipv een 3 persoonskamer een 2 persoonskamer met een extra bed kregen. Hier kon het personeel geen oplossing voor bieden, wegens overboeking.
