Hotel Rheinischer Hof - Garmisch-Partenkirchen

We were accomodated in an appartment on the other side of the street by a nice and friendly receptionist! The room was big, modern and clean with comfortable beds and lots of equipment. The internet was wired, fast and free. The hotel is about 1km from the Garmisch city center, but it is an easy walk down to a lot of restaurants. Anyway, a car may […] be needed. Breakfast was brilliant, but if you got a room in appartment-building you have to cross a rather busy street without crosswalk or lights to get to the rest of the hotel and the restaurant, so with children you really have to be careful! We were not told that the hotel is under renovation. All hotel services were limited with restaurant closed, spa, laundry not open. We had to get breakfast delivered every morning which was a chore. Front desk was across the street and was not manned most of the time.

Good location in Garmisch on the Bus line. Currently re-doing outside of the front of the hotel so parking is very limited, especially if across the street in the annex. Great buffet breakfast selection each morning.

You'll love staying here! It's family run and service is hands down top priority! Andy is a natural behind the front desk! He makes you feel so welcome you feel more like you're staying in their home than a hotel. John has been a staple there for over 30 years and is also very helpful and pleasant. During our 3 days in Garmisch just before Christmas we had an amazing stay at this hotel! The staff was extremely helpful, especially Andreas who pretty much ran the front desk. The staff all spoke English very well, so it was really easy to figure out where we were going and good things to do in the area. The hotel had a family owned, intimate feel. […] The breakfast was delicious and we had free wifi in our room the entire stay. It is a bit of a walk to the downtown area, but the hotel offers free bus passes that will take you all over town and stop at the front of the hotel frequently. We will never forget our stay here, would stay again and would definitely recommend it to others! Les mer

Stayed here four nights in December. All hotel staff have very nice hospitality, especially Mr.Andreas helped us a lot when I tried to reserve train tickets, skiing, visiting the Eibsee lake, etc. Thank you so much. We enjoyed the stay with the hotel staff's big help. My family and I like this hotel.

This was the second time I have stayed here at the Hotel Rheinischer Hof and I thought it couldn't get better. They stepped it up once again by upgrading to free WiFi. The breakfast was amazing, like last time. The staff was amazing (especially Andreas), like last time. As a military member that has the ability to stay at the Edelweiss Hotel, which […] is a beautiful hotel, I'd pick Hotel Rheinischer Hof everytime. The room is more expensive but when you add in the price you would pay for internet, breakfast, bus services (free with a voucher from the hotel), and all the other ammenities it comes out to be about even. What a wonderful place that I would recommend to anyone going to the Garmisch area. I know I will come back again! Les mer

The hotel was having its "Spring Cleaning" during my stay and as result the restaurant was closed down and the reception was closed as well. It was inconvienient and no compensation was provided. The young man that helped me at check in was charming and helpful. The woman who served breakfast and manned the reception desk after this was very curt and […] short. Overall, we thought this was a really nice room. The room was big and nicely decorated. There was a loveseat and matching chair with a coffee table. There was also another straight-backed chair and small table. Plenty of lighting as well. The bathroom was also big and had everything we needed including a makeup mirror and hairdryer. Staff was really nice, good breakfast with items more than the standard meat and cheese European breakfast. We had a great view and a balcony.

Nice hotel in a tourist town. Location of the main road between the Eibsee and center of town creates a lot of traffic. There is also some traffic through the night. Therefore, a room in the back would be quieter than the front room we had. The room itself was fine, and it did have a view of the Zugspitze. It was more expensive than what we'd usually choose, but we loved our view of the Zugspitze, the size of the room, updated bathroom, the balcony, and the breakfast buffet and dinners. Great view of Zugspitze from our balcony. Room is very well maintained and spacious.

This place was absolutely amazing. The staff was amazing especially Andreas, he was great. They were extremely curteous and their English was spectacular. It seems like one of the few places you are going to get free internet and the breakfast was as advertised. I can see why people say they go back to that hotel specifically for the breakfast. Hotel room was clean, modern, and roomy. I would definitely stay again for longer stay. We were only able to stay one night, but very pleased with room, the breakfast and the staff at this hotel.

Hotel was small with very nice english speaking staff - family driven. Included breakfast was maybe the best on our 2 week trip. Freshly squeezed pure orrange juice, real cappucino machine, nice bread, pancakes etc. Nice view of the mountains from room, with balcony. It was very warm so we needed to keep windows open, could hear traffic all night - […] AC would have been nice. The price was a bit high for the hotel quality but it did cover an excellent breakfast! The towels were not always white (poor investment step), there was some mess/dust under the beds (the only excess to that is by lifting the matrass), there were some spider webs in the bathroom. The TV/DVD appliances only support European (PAL) code, our kids only […] have NTST, so we watched some sports in German which was fine by us. Well we stayed here again, booked the same maxi room but wound up getting the jumbo room in a house across the street and it was nice!!! There is an american hotel in town, but we like this small hotel. The people are very friendly also. Best of a three-week trip. One problem with food (gristly pork schnitzel plus an inattentive waiter). The receptionist made sure to set my problem right. I don't know if the waiter got a corrective interview. Bottom line: a happy customer and a hearty recommendation.

I was very pleased with this hotel. The location was easy to find and the view from our rooms was breath taking. I rented two large rooms with three people in each room. Large rooms are rare in Europe but the rooms here were big enough to gather everyone from our party for a pizza dinner. We stayed one night at this hotel in August, 09. The room is dusty and looks outdated, but the bathroom, in the contrary, looks luxurious. We have requested a non-smoking room, in the trash bin, we saw an empty cigarette box greeting us. The breakfast buffet was very nice and you can cook your own varieties of eggs. Hotel was an excellent value. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hotel breakfast was included and excellent. Internet included and worked great. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was great. Best part of the hotel was the staff. They spoke perfect English and were very helpful with tourist advise. I would stay there again.

This was my first hotel booked through hotels.com, and I was a bit worried about what I would get. The hotel was VERY nice, and the room was really good size. Four of us fit into a "maxi double" room with no problem. The breakfast buffet was very good as well. However, it was the staff that made this stay terrific. They bent over backwards for us and […] went the extra mile in many ways. Example: I asked for some coffee "to go." They did not have any "to go" cups, but they searched and found a travel mug from their office so that I could drink my coffee in the car. Et fantastisk dejligt hotel, midt mellem bjergene. Værelset helt tip, top. Gæstfrihed og forplejning helt i orden. Det eneste men er, at hotellet ligger ud til en befærdet vej og ca. 4 km. ind til byen.

Hotel correct dans le centre. Du bruit la nuit dans le couloir et l'hotel des années 70 mérite quelques peintures. La petite piscine est tout de même agréable.

Prima hotel. Ligt gunstig als rustplaats tijdens de reis naar Zuid Europa. Gezinskamers in gebouw aan de overkant van de straat. Niet luxe, maar wel adequaat en schoon. Goed en uitgebreid ontbijt. Niet op loopafstand van het centrum.

Ett härligt hotell nära centrala Garmisch. Stort rum för 4 personer med härlig utsikt över de kringliggande bergen. Ordentlig frukost med mycket egenproducerat.

Die Wellnessanlage ist düster unter der Erde, Bademäntel gab es nur an der Rezeption, haben wir nicht genutzt, da Wellness nicht gut war. The room was nice with a lovely view. Good location. BUT: Bathroom door was old, as everything else in the bathroom, and it was mildly irritating to have a glass door - no privacy at all! The bed was uncomfortable, especially the pillows. I got allergic as they were filled with feathers, but fortunatelly it was only a 1 night stay. If you have a car, it's no problem, but this hotel is a little far from city center and not in a walking distance.

I like this hotel very much. There is nothing negative to say about it. Our family (wife, two kids 8 and 11 years old and me) were there for five nights.
