"Bright experience with some shadow"
The hotel is painstakingly clean, the rooms are great, the bed just right, the pillows the best I had in a long time. Breakfast is unusually good, hot cheese omelettes, gravy, boiled eggs, bacon and everything you can think of. 24 hours hot coffee and tea in the lobby, most of the time even orange and apple juice. My only problem was with the lady who […] cvhecked me in. She gave me the only room wedged in between the elevator and the ice and popmachines, a room that is usually reserved for the cleaning supplies.It was very noisy from both sides of the room. I went back to the front desk and told the lady about my problem, since I stayed there for 5 nights, not just for one. The answer was not friendly and helpful at all. Basically she said: you paid a discounted rate and that is what you get.I wouldn't mention it, if I had not complained with HI Express and had received an answer from them. But no response exccept for the electronic automatic response that I will receive an answer within three business day. Nothing followed.So there seems to be a real service problem.Other than the very noisy nights and short sleeping hours the place is just great. Les mer
"Holiday Inn Express-Seward, AK - very comfortable!"
We stayed one night. We basically only slept there but we were able tget in a quick swim in the evening and have some breakfast before we left. The front desk clerk was very courteous and gave my kids milk and cookies after their swim, before bed. My only two complaints would be that they don't have refrigerators in the rooms and the cheese omelets […] had processed cheese in them and tasted terrible. "Last minute trip"
My wife and I decided to make the last minute trip down to seward to catch the last wildlife boat trip of the season. A few hotels were recommended to us by friends here in eagle river, AK. My wife found a great deal on a room with a view of the harbor. Everything was set for the trip. We get into Seward late, around 11pm the hotel staff had my name […] listed by my email name? but we managed to straighten that out and enjoy a very comfortable bed for some tired people. The only disappointment was that the room with a view was of the parking lot. this was the only let down though and we enjoyed the location right on the water a lot. thank you for wonderful stay. "Feeling of home."
One of the finest places we have found in the area - not expensive (comparatively speaking) for the quality/location of the rooms, the amminaties and the service. A big attraction was the complimentary beverages and food items offered off the lobby to the guests during their entire stay. Front Desk staff could use some friendly customer service training. Typical of many tourism destinations, the staff looses sight of what they are there for.

Great hotel, very clean, great location, close to shops and nice resteraunts, pool is clean, lobby is confortable and inviting. I would recomend this hotel as a great place to stay. The view from one side of the hotel is the harbor, and the city view has a mountain view that is magnificent, you cannot go wrong.

"Good location - front desk attendant not helpful"
The hotel is at a great location and has good facilities. All said, the lady at the front desk was frustrated about something and very unpleasant to us when we were trying to check into the hotel. She was making comments that were even partially racist and rude. Other than that the location was great and we had a great time at Seward.
It would have been great to be in a room overlooking the harbor but the stay was great. I wasn't given the option for a harbor side room and didn't think to ask until we arrived.. the answer was no (but a friendly "no"). I forgot our swimsuits so we couldn't use the indoor pool or hot tub. The pool room looked very clean though and had a great view […] of the harbor. Continental breakfast was good!!! The shampoo, conditioner, and lotion that was in our bathroom was amazing - it smelled so good! The area around the hotel was clean and the hotel it's self is located within walking distance of everything. For morning coffee it is worth the short drive or walk over to the cup shaped coffee shop over by the Safeway grocery store (you can't miss it when you drive into down, it's on the right) - It's cheap and delicious!!! We had kids with us (4 and 2 years old) and the room was perfect for our little family. We will stay here every time we go to Seward! Next time we will try to get a harbor facing room because there wasn't much to look at on the street side of the hotel :) Overall, it was a great stay, especially after the long drive we had just had!!! Our stay here was WONDERFUL, the staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the scenery gorgeous! Their breakfast was awesome, lots of choices, even my picky children enjoyed it!

Hotel was clean and in well-cared-for condition. Staff was very helpful, and kindly upgraded us to a "Sea-View" room for free. Room was clean with very comfy beds, and free breakfast was good, with hot food (pancakes, sausage, eggs, etc.). Hotel location is excellent.

Great Hotel. Customer Service was awesome. The pool was just right for my kids and the hot tub was 104 which was perfect for us. The breakfast had fresh fruit and was replished as quickly as everyone was enjoying it! Two Thumbs up!

The stay was excellent and the location was fantastic, right on the water, right next to the harbor. It is a 1.3 mile walk to town, but we enjoyed the walk in the cool spring breeze. The room was very clean, complimentary breakfast. There are only three things that were a little concerning. 1. On the phone, we were told we had a king size bed with a […] harbor view. We got there and we had a king size bed with a street view. I called the front desk and told her about our reservations and what we were told, and she gave us a harbor view room, with a balcony. 2. The king size bed rooms on the harbor side are considerably smaller than the king rooms on the street side. Still very cozy though. 3. The lobby is right next to the pool, so it smells like clorine all over the first floor. It didn't bother us, but may bother some. Besides that, very affordable and we had a wonderful stay. Les mer

This hotel is on the Seward harbor, and is very convenient for boaters, tourists, and people flying into the airfield. Service was horrible. The desk staff were rude, abrasive and unaccommodating. The hotel was nearly empty and we asked to pay for an upgrade but they refused. They seemed uninterested in doing anything that would require effort on their part during our stay. While the hotel was clean and in a great location the staff would keep me from coming back. "Holiday Inn Express Seward best location in town"
The Holiday Inn is typical of mid level hotels for comfort and amenities but the location simply can't be beat. It overlooks the Seward harbor with mountains as a backdrop so with good weather the sunrise and sunset views are stunning. The hotel is conveniently located near shopping and many restaurants
"Wonderful Hotel to Stay At"
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Seward for 3 nights. Very quiet rooms. Wonderful breakfast in the morning. The hotel will store your luggage for you free of charge until it's time for your train departure at 6:00 p.m. Loved the town of Seward too. Very friendly people. Can't wait to return.

"Stay good....breakfast not so good."
Hotel was nice and staff was friendly, however, every morning there was a wait for the staff to replenish the breakfast items. Coffee decanters were almost always in need of a refill. Great location.

"Great View of Waterfront"
Checkin time is 4:00 pm and we arrived at 11:00 am they were very helpful in storing our luggage for us, giving us directions to town and suggesting things to see and do. The best part was checkout wasn't until noon and we took full advantage we waited and were able to avoid the rush to board the ship for our cruise. "Great Room Location"
The room faced the street, so it was rather noisy until about 10 p.m. The traffic started up again about 7 a.m. The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was extensive and varied. A good value.

Harbor View Room was very good and very clean - Wheelchair accessable room on short notice was no problem. Parking permit was without charge. We would go again anytime.
