"Solid value"
Nothing too fancy, just a nice room at a very reasonable price. Only disappointment was the bush-league shower head, which still wasn't that bad. Everything else exceeded my expectations, including bed comfort and overall luxury of the hotel.

"Nice, Clean Hotel"
The hotel is nice and clean. Excellent breakfast. Front Desk was nice and helpful, offered to give us directions to the venue we were headed too. The pool is small, and gets loud. The kids did not mind and had a ton of fun.

"Holiday in Schereville"
Hotel was in an excellent location and had many restaurants and other shops in the area. The layout of the room was outstanding and the hotel staff was friendly. I really enjoyed my stay and would definately stay in this hotel again.

"Nice place, great breakfast"
Very nice room for the money. The complimentary hot breakfast was superior to most places. Had a little snafu with the TV and had to change rooms. Turns out they were in the process of upgrading all the TVs, and that one hadn't been swapped out yet, making it incompatable with the PPV system.

"Self Service"
I was looking forward to my stay at the hotel. My friends and I were there to celebrate a birthday and enjoy a much needed get away. Our enthusiasm was halted upon arrival. The young woman at the desk did not bother cracking even a faint smile and barely made eye contact as she demanded my ID and debit card (which she swiped immediately without informing […] me of the hold she was about to place on it). Later in the evening, we noticed we had forgotten toothpaste. So, we called the front desk. The same woman answered, but told us to come pick it up and make sure we wear shoes because walking barefoot is not allowed. I'm not sure why she felt compelled to say so. These issues are minor. However, checkout left much to be desired. I asked for clarification about check out procedures and inquired about signing any final documents. Rather than politely explaining the hotel policy, this same woman twisted her face as if thoroughly annoyed by my audacity to ask a question. She responded condesendingly, with phrases like "That's what 'check out' means !" I would return to this facility, but would rather not encounter this character again....ever. Les mer
"Great Stay!"
Very nice room, up to date and clean. Large room and bathroom - plenty of towels - much appreciated! Pool was wonderful - really enjoyed the different color lights in the pool - and clean public areas! Breakfast was hot and fresh - nothing stale. Would definitely stay here again.
Family and i were traveling for holidays and wanted a nice place to stop south of Chicago. We were looking for a pool and exercise room. The breakfast was a bonus. It was nice to have coffe and muffin before we set out agin. We were pleased with service and quality of room and would do again

"Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Schererville, IND"
I booked two nights at this establishment at the recommendation of a friend to be close to the site of my 50th high school class reunion. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and confortable. My only problem was that one of the ventilator units in an adjoining room sounded as if it had a bad bearing and was quite noisey […] when operating. Obviously, the hotel maintenance staff should have taken care of this problem. Les mer

"Excellent"
Very easy to freeway, not too far from chicago. Salt water pool was warm and wonderful, so was hot tub. Super friendly staff. Wonderful free breakfast, even eggs and meat, pancakes. Close to numerous restaurants and shopping. Family loved it and will return.
"Nice location & staff, but poorly cleaned room"
June 2011 stay: Very nice location and spacious room. The front desk staff were all very nice & check-in and out were easy. Room was spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately, there were residual crumbs in the kitchen cabinets, trash on the window sill and ants under the bathroom sink. What could have been an excellent hotel was disappointing.
I have never been more frustrated with the staff at a hotel. And though yes it is a holiday inn, it certainly was not cheap. I would expect the front desk to staffed with enough well trained personal to handle routine check INS. Instead, arriving in this hotel after a very stressful day it took me 30 minutes to check in during which I was told repeatedly […] that my credit card had been declined. Except the problem was not my credit card it was the desk clerk who did not know how to run her system. (and also was maybe just nit that bright. She kept telling me my MasterCard had been declined while holding my Amex in her hand. I don't have a mastecard.) She had to get on her cell phone and call someone to help her resolve the issue. Okay I get it, we've all been new at a job before. But don't tell your guest the problem is theirs - admit you are wrong. Les mer

The Hotel was nice and cleanliness was great. The noise level was pretty bad at midnight. Kids were yelling and screaming down the hall all hours of the night.
I was pleasantly surprised how nice and clean everything was. The staff was very friendly and everytime I saw a staff member they asked how my stay was. The only problem I had was being woke up at 1am by someone banging on my door. I looked out the peep hole and it was a pizza delivery guy. I did not open the door and he finally went away. I was bothered […] as a single women that they would let random people roam the halls in the middle of the night. I think if you order a pizza you should have to go to front desk to retrieve. I know this is an isolated experience and I would definietly stay at this lovely property again. Les mer

"Nice hotel,but no bargain"
We stayed at this Holiday Inn as recently as August,but they must have made staff changes since then.The overall appearance of the hotel has declined in that two month period.The elevator was quite dirty and shabby looking,and even our room was not nearly as clean as it could have been or as our room was in August.The outside areas set aside for smokers […] were filthy and over run with cigarette butts.We also had the pleasure of a drunken wedding party with rooms on both sides of ours that decided to get loud and rowdy at 1:30 AM.,the hotel staff did call one of their rooms after complaints,but we had to put a stop to the other room ourselves.This time the stay was not worth the money,and a repeat booking is questionable. Hotel is great for comfort, cleanliness, etc., breakfast is great. Staff was reasonably nice but they have made a big screw up by charging our card when we had pre-booked through hotels.com and have been very difficult as we try to rectify the situation.

"Outstanding Location"
The Holiday Inn Express in Schereville was a great experience and centrally located to all of my friends and family in the Lake County area.
"Decent"
After the first night,we came back into our room, and half of the room was left in shambles. A bed was not made, trash was left on the floor, and stuff was out of place, and they could not do anything about it. On the other hand,The pool and hot tub were amazing, and I liked the work out room. The comfort of the hotel was amazing though, i slept like […] a rock on the comfortable bed. It was a good hotel, but not over a hundred dollars good. but the breakfast was amazing!!! Les mer

"Very nice hotel"
This is a very nice place to stay. The bathroom was spotless and in excellent condition. There were no cracked tiles or faucet leaks. The ocean sounds on the clock radio helped my 2 year old daughter fall asleep. I liked it so much I left it on all night. The continental breakfast was very good. They offered eggs, bacon, biscuits, sausage gravy, cereal, […] yogurt, muffins and bagels. The staff was very nice. I will be staying here again on my return trip to Minnesota. Les mer
