Fin og rent hotell. Beliggenhet var ypperlig men det som trakk ned litt var de knøtt små rommene! Kunne nærmest ikke bevege på seg men så er det jo veldig vanlig i England med små hotellrom. Ellers veldig bra!!

The location and cleanliness of this hotel could not be faulted however. The staff made us feel uncomfortable in the dining room. At breakfast they didn't have many choices of tea, which for a hotel of this rating I felt was poor, nor were they too bothered. They just stood and watched us all of the time.

Fantastic hotel right in the middle of everything. Needed an extra bed in the room for my 7 year old and this was done for me within the hour! would recommend this hotel to anyone viewing the sites of Brighton!

I stayed for one night only and did not use the restaruant or bar. The room was very nice, clean and bright and overlooked the Old Steine. There was a little noise from the street at 3 am approx but nothing that bothered me, I did not experience anything like some of the reviews I had read prior to my stay.

We enjoyed this hotel - friendly staff, clean rooms, great location. Only downside was parking - they suggested parking a little far away but it was raining. We were lucky to find on street parking right outside, but the parking attendents were very quickly out there as soon as parking was payable, so we narrowly avoided a parking fine!

royal york hotel was exactly as you see in the photos they show on their website-not many hotels offer the same honesty. hotel room was beautiful,tastfully decorated, so close to the seafront. lovely reasturants around, cheeky pubs an clubs. only issue i had was no parking. took me a while to find an underground carpark that let my leave car over noght. overall […] il definatly be staying here again. Were satisfied with everything except the parking. We knew it wasn't at the hotel as we had called up and checked with the hotel beforehand. But when we got to the car park the rates were higher than what we were told by hotel staff. Our room was lovely and very clean (except the windows) and the staff were very helpful.

he Royal York, Brighton, was more than we expected. Fantastic building located with sea front views. Upon arrival we were offered an upgrade; which made our anniversary all the mote special. Hotel staff were very friendly; room was beautiful; we have already recommended the hotel to friends and family when they stay in Brighton. Fantastic!

What a shame a well decorated hotel in Brighton with attentive staff and very nicely decorated bedroom and bathroom, all for a very reasonable price. However the noise from outside is ridiculous. the windows are single glazed and don't close properly which means you get the late night revelers shouting and the bus station telling you that the coaches […] are reversing all night long and I mean all night. Even when the students go home that noise is replaced by the bin men at 4 am emptying the bins and firing up the roadsweepers. I have now been here 3 times but I have had to stop going there simply because you cannot sleep with all the noise, I did suggest that spending a few hundred pounds per room for secondary glazing would solve the problem but I don't think thats in their plans so for now I have to tell everyone pay a bit extra for another hotel and get a good night sleep. Good location close to the pier Hotel it self could do with a bit of a re fit My tiles I'm the bathroom were all coming off Not all channels worked on the telly Bedroom was ok just the parrot wall paper made Me repeat myself all weekend it was a bit much

The hotel was very central & convenient for enjoying Brighton. The entrance , bar & breakfast room need to be redecorated to be bright & inviting. The service for breakfast was extremely slow. The problem appeared to be in the kitchen. The tables in the dining room are too small, all being the same size the room looks cold and unfriendly. The hotel position is fantastic, and our room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast menu was comprehensive and our poached eggs were perfect, not as easy to get as one would think. Jonny at reception was especially helpful. Because there is no on-site parking at the hotel the parking station information is important and it needs to be updated.

Excellent location, excellent room, excellent service! We only had a short stay but was made to feel very welcome, the room was beautiful as was the view of the sea!! It was literally a stones throw away. Would definitely recommend it.

Welcomed by wonderful staff in the hotel despite the very very late mid-night check-in. Overall service is good though the house keeping is often a little delayed. Hope to see more in the breakfast menu but overall wonderful stay in a lovely location!

We had a lovely weekend in this hotel. It's kind of oldy-worldy, a littel rough around the edges but really lovely. The rooms were fresh and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was okay, dining room was very small and we felt very close to other people. Had a great time! Thank you!

Nicely decorated hotel, needs a tad of maintenance! Good view of sea from room, rite on sea front and near shops! Just rather noisy with buses at back at clubbers coming out but not hotel fault!

I booked a room here for me and my boyfriend for 4 night and it was perfect! Right by the seafront and pier, friendly service and the room was amazing! Spotless, clean, comfy bed and had a flatscreen TV on the wall which was great for when the weather was bad. We got new toiletries and tea/coffee everyday and I will definitely be staying here again […] :) Les mer

Stayed here for one night, nothing to complain about apart from the weather - could hear the wind through the window but we were facing the sea and the weather was ridiculously windy. Asked for breakfast in the morning at 9.30 and it came bang on 9.30. Really enjoyed the stay. Must go in to the hotel before you park and they give you a discount voucher […] and directions to the car park which is just 10 minutes walk. Close to shopping centre as well. Les mer

I was amazed at what I got for my money!! A beautifully decorated room in really beautiful wallpaper and furnishings, with a big seperate shower-room very stylishly done too. Comfortable kingsized bed which we were upgraded to at no extra cost ..and lovely hotel throughout!! Only places for improvement are the single glazed windows, and the lovely bar […] which had no staff in it and was dimly lit and closed at ten!! What a tragic wasted oppurtunity that bar is ..beautiful space totally not utilised properly!! We hsad to go out and find another place to drink ..All in all a great hotel to stay in though!!! A lovely centrally located hotel, right near the pier. Surprisingly quiet considering it is so central. Service very good. Definitely recommend.

Stayed with my partner for 2 nights in August 2011. The staff were very friendly and we had a lovely spaceous room. The only negative was that our room was above the front entrance and the bar that was open late night and the noise could be heard.

noisy at night so if you have problems sleeping would not advise staying here.The room initially allocated was tiny It should have been a single room not double.Moved to a bigger room on second night Reception staff very helpful though Would stay here again but only for a short break Would not recommend for longer than 2 or 3 as nights as very noisy […] at night . Booked this hotel for one night for a wedding and got it at a discounted rate wfriendly hich made the stay even more worth it. Staff were very helpful and although the associated car park was a bit of a walk - being a sunny weekend we didn't mind. Not much of a queue at check in and no issues. Room was more than adequate for what we needed - a place […] to get ready and sleep, although the shower temperature did flick between cold (afternoon) and scolding (morning) without moving the temperature tap. As stated before it was a warm weekend and the A/C struggled a bit but did enough to keep us from boiling. Location was perfect as right on the seafront and close to town, without being right on top of the nightlife. Les mer

Stayed for one night. Building looked old and run down from the outside. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was quited dirty with lots of marks on the wall, could do with some paint. The window in the room would not stay open which was not good as the air con did not work. Quiet noisey from passing traffic. The hotel is in an excellant […] location, close to the pier and lanes. I would recommend this as a good place to stay for location, but don't pay full price, only book here if you get a good offer. Les mer

We enjoyed our stay, although in retrospect would have asked for a room at the rear of the hotel, as it was a bit noisy overlooking a busy road. Great location though.

My Friend and I loved this hotel, its in the centre of everything, close to the shops, beach and the Dome (where we were watching a performance). The rooms were beautifully decorated and the bathroom was newly refurbished and spotlessly clean. Would definitley recommend this hotel.

The staff simply couldn't have been more accommodating. When we arrived, the hotel didn't have our reservation (and we didn't have paperwork because our printer at home wasn't working). The desk clerks & office manager gave me access to their computer to pull up Bookings.com - then upgraded us to a Business Class room to apologize for the inconvenience! […] And ALL interaction with staff was equally positive. The location is simply superb, steps from the beach and steps from Brighton's best shopping & restaurants. And while the hotel defintely has an old-fashioned feel, it is very nice, the rate we got was excellent & again the friendly staff knocked our socks off! The only actual negative was a shower which was impossible to regulate. Les mer

Staff were extremely helpful and professional. Room had a fab view over the park and was comfortable with all amenities available and lots of wall plugs for chargers etc.!! Very convenient position, within easy walking distance for both beach and shops. Cannot comment on the restaurant as we were only there for two nights and ate out. The only let down […] we had is that there is no parking at the hotel and the nearest available was £46 for 40 hours! Les mer

Probably the best hotel I've stayedf in in the centre of Brighton (and I've stayed in a few!) but considering the quality of Brighton hotels in general that's not saying much. Upon arrival the concierge was pleased to inform me that I'd got ".....a nice sea view....". He was right, I could make out the sea between the 2 big buildings right in front […] of my window. I also took up bus spotting from my window as the National Express terminus was also below it and by the end of my stay I could tell which bus was which just by the sound of the engines which were left constantly running. Some advice to the hotel; air conditioning is supposed to cool the room, not heat it up. The staff need to learn the basics, like what time breakfast is. Be interesting to see if I get my money back for the breakfasts I had to miss because they said it started at 7 when it really started at 6:30. Some of us have to go to work. 5/10 (but that's good for Brighton from what I've seen. Les mer

Yes the outside needs a lick of paint and being in the middle of a city can be noisy at night but its a great hotel. George on reception couldnt have been more helpfull and changed my room a few time as asked for peacefull but they are the small rooms and I like more space. Had 210 and had great view of the gardens and I always pack ear plugs so slept […] like a baby on the comfy bed. Problem with the TV and after calling down housekeeping was up within 15 mins and realised it was just a fuse. Try the alibion and you then will have lots of moan about! some people dont know a good thing when they see it. bottled water in the room would have been nice. Les mer

This could very easily have been a bad review of the hotel. Checked in at 3pm, an hour later than we thought we could, room was nice but when we were getting ready to go out later, found out that there was no hairdryer in the room, no iron, and the toilet was broken! Phoned down to reception for about 30mins and no one picked up. So went down, read […] to rant with all guns blazing, but didn’t need to as the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, sorted out the issues and got moved to a new room with no fuss. So thanks to that, was happy to stay here. Note: it is noisy, more so in the day I noticed, so don’t expect peace and tranquillity. Les mer

start with the positives. nice room, very nice staff...oh thats it. negatives: outside is appaling, looks run down and the front doors look like they should be on a east end boozer. the windows in the room were filthy both inside and out - which was at odds with the rest of the room. we had a balcony that again was filthy outside. although we apparently […] got the 'last room' there was never anyone about was all very strange. Stayed here for a wedding in Brighton and the location is just perfect, literally seconds from the water front. Room was a bit tiny, but had everything needed. Service from hotel better than could have been expected for the price.

The room was of a good standard and comfortable, the staff helpful and polite. The negatives are sea view rooms back out onto a rough bar which can be problematic noise wise and that we could hear every single movement from the room upstairs- it needs soundproofing- amplified.

Room was clean. Very noisy at night as the south-facing room overllooked a nightclub entrance and window had single-glazing. Shower was lovely. Breakfast expensive. Staff friendly. Location great. Would go back if a cheap deal was available again but wouldn't pay top whack unless last minute.

the hotel has been aesthetically refurbuished to a high standard, however investment has not stretched to the windows - hence rooms are potentially drafty and at the back very noisy over night. our room was small but fine, bar the small hole in the wall(!) and noise from people coming out of bars and clubs late on. bathroom was fine, breakfast basis. […] i had booked B&B but was told i was to be charged for breakfast; this was however quickly withdrawn when i objected. Great location, very polite staff, but condition of the room was very poor. No climate control in room, window was not double glazed, therefore room was either too warm or cold. Decor was rather dated. I would recommend Thistle hotel nearby

Not like other Radisson Blu's I have stayed at. Renamed old building - I think it may have been the Royal York. Clean enough but room had very old carpet, a rickety floor and noisy air conditioning. Old fireplace in bedroom. New bathroom - very good. Wireless internet speed awful. Couldnt get ethernet to work. It is advertised as 4 star but I would […] say 3 stars just. Les mer
