Rodeway Inn York - York

The room was very clean and nice. It's located right in the center of town, among older commercial buildings from the 1940's-50's. I was a bit nervous at first, but all was OK, no problems whatsoever. I would likely stay there again.

The hotel is located downtown, around businesses. Nothing pretty to look at, but was surprisingly nice. The room was comfortable, the bed was firm, but not hard (I hate a soft bed) and I slept peacefully. The bathroom was clean (shower stall - no bathtub). Nothing special but serviceable for a brief stay and cheap. Some mold in the shower and burn marks in furniture, but otherwise clean. The hotel has some rooms set aside for long term residents.

The price is right but the neighborhood was terrible. Bathroom floor was strangely sticky.

The location of the hotel was good. The staff not over friendly. Bedsheets were so thin that holes were starting to show through them. Pleased to leave.

Profile picture is outdated. This is a great place if you want cheap and conveinent. It's not a 5 star, but much nicer then the ratings, updated bathrooms, comfy pillows, large flat screen TV, wifi, fridge, in room coffee...everything the big chains offer. Well worth the stay.

The positives: price, location, clean refrigerator & microwave and comfortable bed, It is downtown; and an easy walk to all kinds of great stuff in York. The negatives: room was very dated, mostly clean, the TV was old enough that it didn't have a hdmi jack (we weren't there to watch a movie so this was OK for us), the hair dryer had it's casing ripped […] off exposing the wiring & didn't work which is probably good since it's right next to the sink and finally I would not go shoeless in this room. If you are looking for a decent affordable mostly clean room and you don't care if it has been updated recently then this might be your place. It worked well for us. Les mer

Two couples booked our rooms here based on it's close location to the Pennsylvania Cigarbox Guitar Festival and the Yorkfest arts festival . After reading other reviews we weren't sure what we would be getting so were pleased to find the rooms clean and comfortable. To begin with, the hotel room itself was good. It was clean and the hotel staff did their best to accomodate. Hotels.com mileage calculations must be only if you can fly!!! We went to this hotel because of a trip to Hersheypark. According to the mileage calculations given by Hotels.com, it was 23 miles from the park, I estimated 25 minutes...I did not […] do my own calculation, turned out to be 35 or so miles and 45 minutes away...after a long day at the park, that is a long time...we stayed there because the hotel was cheap$$$. MAKE SURE TO CALCULATE DISTANCE PRIOR TO BOOKING. The hotel, let's say that outside of the room, there is nothing to see. We stayed in room 120, right next to the elevator, you can hear the "transmission" changing gears all night throught the wall. we stayed over on trash night, Sunday into Monday. The rolling trash bin was pushed into the middle of the parking lot the night before and at 5am, the trash men come and pick it up, lots of noise. There were families living there, not really a big deal but, the youngest child was running around in his/her diaper outside..not pleasant and in the morning I had a lovely cigarette butt on my windshield along with a whole lot of ashes.... continental breakfast was fair, as expected...Should have spent the extra 10 bucks or so to be closer to Hershey... The hotel was great - staff very accommodating. It was not in a great neighborhood but worked for our purposes. Very affordable. We stayed in York on a recent trip to Hershey. The only problem was that Hotels.com listed the hotel as 21 miles from city center. our stay was good, room was clean, it was quiet, staff was accomindating, check-in and out was hassle free. I wouldn't stay more than 2 days only because it seemed like some shady actives was happening in some of the rooms, if you know what I mean. Other than that I would not have mind staying longer.

Great location close to Revolutionsstadium, theatre, and a few restaurant bars. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff.

When I checked this out on hotels.com, it looked very nice and close to everything that was needed. I didn't expect to arrive to a Rodeway Hotel which is jammed in between other buildings, parking spaces that just barely fit your vehicle with no room to get out of it if you have it parked, and lucky to find a spot when you return late. It is also not located in an area where I felt safe during the day and especially at night. Our first night there, next door they were have caged fighting, so that should give you some indication of the neighborhood. But then again, you only get what you pay for. We were pleased that it did not take us long to get to the fair grounds and that the traffic was not a problem. Would like to see the toilet paper upgraded and a coffee pot added to the room.

The hotel looked similar to the Ghetto scene in Training Day. We reserved a smoking room, and then were told we were being given a non-smoking room. Old, beat up hotel on outside. Room furnishings were OK, but dated. Big problem was I booked a non smoking room, which was confirmed by the staff. But the room was like sleeping in an ash tray. Nicotine burned my nasal passages all night, could not sleep. Staff was not concerned in the morning, said "yea, we have a hard tiem keeoing people from smoking […] in the rooms.. This was our 2nd stay this year Again was clean convenient and this time the wireless worked great It may not be the faniciest but the staff is kind and same two gentleman were working and keep up the good job See ya in December for our Holiday visit .

This was one of the closest places for me to stay to attend the Hearshy Fall Car Show that had a reasonable rate. It is in downtown York not a bad city that looks like it is going through a resto project.Outside hotel noise is loud, room could need a little more attention to details, slight mold around bath tub and sloppy painters. i would recommend this for those looking for the one night stand cheap motel. my nephew started pulling things from under the bed. i told him to leave it alone. they just didnt clean the rooms well. other than that it is convenient and free parking.

We felt that the 3 1/2 star rating was a little high. The pictures we viewed prior to booking were misleading. We also booked this believing the mileage listed to Hershey. We were a little surprised by the appearance of the hotel - a little seedy. We were greeted by an unshaven, dirty t-shirted (paint stained) clerk. We checked into our room and were […] somewhat surprised by the clean, fresh room. It had obviously been re-done recently and was welcoming. Although we did not like the outside of the motel, the room was good. The clerk that checked us in was not seen again. Perhaps he was just filling in for the regular clerk at that time. All other contacts to the front desk were received by an appropriated dressed and clean gentleman. The distance to Hershey was listed on line at considerably less miles. We drove back and forth each day but were not happy that it was so much farther than listed in ad. Continental breakfast was adequate. Not up to par with other hotels but there was cereal and sweet rolls offered as well as coffee and juice. However not much seating space provided. The price was great and we were satisfied but there could be some improvements in the internet listing that would make a more accurate discription,. Les mer

This hotel is in the middle of town. At 11 P.M. my smoke alarm sounded for no reason. People kept pulling into the small parking lot blowing their horn to pick up a friend.
